ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA support report of the DPRK Assocation for Human Right Studies

The ASSPUK, Juche Idea Study Idea Study Group of England and the UK Korean Friendship Association issued the following joint statement today on the publication of the report of the DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies;

       The DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies released a report on human rights in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 13th of September .Our organisations, the ASSPUK, JISGE and UK KFA , warmly applaud this timely and detailed refutation of the lying and mendacious propaganda by US and world imperialism and all kinds of reactionaries against the DPRK on the human rights issue. Earlier this year the so-called "Commission of Inquiry ", a marionette of US imperialism published a most slanderous report on the DPRK human rights situation using fake evidence from so -called "defectors " , scumbag traitors who had committed serious crimes and betrayed their sacred homeland for a few dollars . The report is a most comprehensive and profound exposition of the DPRK's stance on human rights and its successes in enhancing human rights as well as as an effective demolition of the false claims about the DPRK.
The report  is full of facts about human rights in the the DPRK which give an in depth expert and definitive assessment of the true human rights situation in the DPRK .
              The Juche , the guiding idea of the DPRK and the revolutionary ideology
of independence , the underpin for human rights in the DPRK . As the report says
"The Juche idea is the ideology of believing in people as in heaven. Take full responsibility for and protect people’s future and spare nothing for the promotion of their welfare – this is a political doctrine and principle of activities of the DPRK Government.
The Government of the DPRK guided by the Juche idea is carrying out its responsibility and mission as a representative of people’s independent rights, organizer of their creative abilities and activities, householder responsible for their living conditions and protector of their independent and creative life.
The social system of the DPRK which has embodied the Juche idea is a people-centred social system in which people are the masters of everything and everything serves them.
Its political system is popular as it makes people masters of state governing, serves them and bestows upon them priceless political integrity."           The Juche idea is against any kind of repression or oppression and is all about empowering people and enhancing their independence and creativity.
           DPRK citizens are also guaranteed a broad range of socio-economic rights unknown in Western capitalist countries such as the right to work , the right to social security and the right to a reasonable standard of living . These rights are unknown in capitalist countries which suffer from unemployment ,poverty and homelessness. In the DPRK people even get flats and apartments free of charge something unthinkable in a capitalist country 
                                                                                                    Civil rights are also guaranteed and are wider and deeper than in capitalist countries. For example judges and people's assessors are actually elected rather than been appointed. In accordance with article 241 of the criminal law of the DPRK, a law officer who illegally arrests, detains or confines an individual, searches his or her body or house, or seizes or confiscates his or her property is subject to criminal responsibility. DPRK citizens have freedom of demonstration and assembly providing they give 3 notification to the relevant authorities(this is 6 days in the UK) . In the US and other capitalist countries demonstrations are heavily repressed . In other areas of civil rights the  DPRK compares favourably to the so-called "democratic " capitalist countries . For example legal representation in court cases in free of charge . Also   the age of criminal responsibility in the DPRK is 14 years old whereas in the UK is 10 years old and children living in some US states can be legally accountable for crimes at the age of 6 !!!.

All in all the report is essential reading for not just friends of the DPRK but all
those genuinely interested in human rights issues. We strongly support the Report of the DPRK Human Rights Association and recommend everyone reads it,
