Pyongyang Declaration Inspires World′s Socialist Movement
Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Pyongyang Declaration "Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism".
The declaration has served as an inspiring banner for political parties and people throughout the world aspiring after socialism.
In the early 1990s, socialism collapsed one after another in some countries and the imperialists were advertising the "end" of socialism. On top of that, renegade socialists were claiming that the socialist idea itself was wrong.
Thereby, many countries desirous of socialism began to harbor doubts about it.
At that time, representatives of 70 political parties from across the world, including 48 party leaders, met in Pyongyang to sign the Pyongyang Declaration in the name of their parties.
The declaration was inked by more than 150 political parties until the end of Juche 81 (1992).
Over the past years, the world's socialist movement has got momentum, inspired by the declaration.
The advantages of the socialist system in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea inspire the world's progressives with confidence that socialism is truth and science and it will unfailingly emerge victorious. -
