Juche Iron Production System Established

Juche Iron Production System Established

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex established the Juche iron production system based on no-coke high-speed deoxidization in the wake of successfully completing the iron production method by use of Juche iron blast furnace. As a result, the iron production has been put on a normal footing at the complex.

The complex succeeded in integrating the Juche iron production process at new Steel Shop No. 1 with the oxygen furnace now in operation and technologically updated curved type strand-casting machines as a streamlined process. This led to establishing an integral Juche iron production system whereby rolled steel is made from molten iron without being cooled.

The projects to build a Juche iron production process of Steel Shop No. 1 and introduce the CNC technology to Juche iron blast furnace as required by the IT age also made successful progress.

Scores of computer programs including a feeding system control program, a furnace observation and control program suited to the specific conditions of locally available raw materials and fuel were developed and command and control rooms for automatically monitoring temperature, pressure and flux of furnace were successfully built to place the Juche iron production on a CNC basis.

The completion of Korean-style no-coke steel production method based on high-speed deoxidization laid a solid foundation for increasing iron production by completely relying on brown coal abundant in the country.
