18TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ELECTION OF LEADER KIM JONG IL AS KPA SUPREME
COMMANDER.
On the 24th of December 1991 comrade Kim Jong Il was elected by the
Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea as the Supreme Commander
of the Korean Peoples Army(KPA) having previously been elected as vice
chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK in 1990.The post
of KPA Supreme Commander is very important post and its importance has
increased over the years as the confrontation between the DPRK and US has
instensified.The
election to the post of KPA Supreme Commander came at a time when the
Korean peninsula was tense as the south Korean puppet army had threatened
to mount a pre emptive strike on the DPRK nuclear facilities.
                 Comrade Kim Jong Il had studied military affairs for
many years and had been involved with military affairs as far back as 1960
when he gave guidance to the Seoul Guard Ryu Kyong Su Tank Division 105.He
wrote many works on military affairs and also worked behind the scenes in
the "Pueblo incident " in 1968.
               After becoming Supreme Commander of the KPA in 1991 he
led the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK in confronting US
imperialism.There was talk of prempetive strikes on DPRK
nuclear facilities.In March 1993 he put the KPA and armed forces of the
DPRK onto a semi war state to cope with the war provocations of the Yankee
imperialists.He led the Korean Peoples Army to face down the US
imperialists in the 1st and 2nd 'nuclear crisis'.The DPRK has come to have
its own powerful war deterrent.
      The KPA is a powerful revolutionary army in which one of its troops
is a match for a 100 of the enemy.It is now equipped with modern means
of warfare.It has become much stronger under the leadership of Supreme
Commander Kim Jong Il.He has paid close attention to modelling the
army on the Juche idea(the idea that man is the master which is
expressed in practicals terms as independence,self suffiency
and self reliance) with the result that the KPA has been built up strongly
in terms of ideology.
The DPRK has adopted Songun or Army first politics.The central concept to
this is that the army is the pillar of the revolution.The start of the
Songun revolution was the election of comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA
Supreme Commander.Comrade Kim Jong Il all the times visits army units
and speaks to soldiers in a down to earth manner.He always enquiries about
the daily lives of troops.
          This year another great victory was achieved under the Supreme
Commandership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il,the second nuclear
test.This strike fear into the DPRK enemies-the US imperialists and their
followers-and was both an act of defiance and an assertion of the DPRK's
independence and will.We salute the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il on
the occasion of the 18th anniversary of his election as KPA Supreme
Commander.

BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MADAME KIM JONG SUK ANTI JAPANESE WOMAN HEROINE
The birth of Comrade Kim Jong Suk on the 24th of December 1917 was a
highly significant event for the Korean people and the world people.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk was born into an oppressed peasants family that
witnessed the oppression of the Korean people by the Japanese imperialists
and in particular the double and triple exploitation of Korean women. She
joined the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army at a young age and became a
loyal soldier of the great revolutionary leader General Kim Il Sung, the
commander of the KPRA.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk defended the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung with
her own life. She became known for her great military skill.

She was a pioneer of the Korean communist women’s movement, and played a
great role in revolutionising women.

After liberation in 1945 she devoted herself to the work of building a new
people’s democratic country. She worked hard without a thought for her own
comfort. She passed away at the early age of 32 in 1949.

She always embodied the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented
view on women; namely that women are equal with men but at the same time
must retain their feminine qualities.

Comrade Kim Jong Suk was a great paragon of communist womanhood and a true
revolutionary soldier of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung. Her
exploits will be enshrined forever in the hearts of the Korean people and
world progressive people.

　KFA EVENT TO MARK KFA DECEMBER ANNIVERSARIES
UK KFA along with the Juche Idea Study Group of England will hold a small
commemorative event to mark the anniversary of the election of the
election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA Supreme Commander
and also the birth anniversary of comrade Kim Jong Suk.This will be on the

HOW THE MEDIA BRAINWASH PEOPLE ABOUT THE DPRK
The Western media which includes an number of press agencies such as
Reuters as well TV networks and electronic media conduct a brainwashing
campaign against the DPRK which pursues a policy of independence.

Nazi propaganda minister Josef Goebbels said if you repeat a lie enough
times people will believe.This tactic has been applied against the DPRK
continously.Lets take some examples.The media constantly refer to the
"isolated state" meaning the DPRK.In fact the DPRK is a UN member and also
a member of a wide range of international bodies such UNESCO, the World
Health Organisation,Universal Post Union ,IPU and many others. It has
diplomatic relations with over 100 countries as well trade with them,so
how can it be isolated.
Other words that are repeated over and over again are "impoverished state"
and "shattered economy".Now whilst it is true that the DPRK suffer
difficulties in the 1990s due to natural disaster and imperialist isolate
and crush tactics the DPRK now has one of the highest economic growth
rates in Asia and the world and is developing cutting edge technology such
as CNC tools.The DPRK is not a rich country but not a poor one either.Even
grudging and conservative estimates of the DPRK's national income per
capita
give put it higher than the UN poverty line of $1 per day.

Western media reports contradict themselves .They portray the DPRK as
"highly secretive", "closed " etc but then proceed to report intricate
internal workings and goings on the DPRK,how would they know ?.

A lot of Western media reports are second hand reports from south Korean
news agencies.Some reports have come from the far right wing "Chosun Ilbo"
in south Korea and others have come from shadowy groups in south Korea.


UNELECTED AND OVERPAID CRITICISE THE DPRK!
The House of Lords have recently produced a report attacking the DPRK.It
is ironic that a body which is not elected dares to lecture the DPRK on
democracy.The main instigator of this report Lord David Alton claims about
£50,000 in expenses for turning up at the place just 122 days so he
recieves £441 for each day.Lord Alton's report is full of outlandish
propaganda.Allegations about 'political prisoner camps' in the DPRK has
been refuted many times.For example allegedly there is a prison camp
in Hwasong but as KCNA said "  Explicitly speaking, there exists no such
place as the above-said political prisoners' camp in the DPRK".

Prison is a last resort in the DPRK.The maximum sentence is 12 years.An
amnesty was granted to prisoners in 2002 see below
Amnesty to be granted in DPRK
   Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- The presidium of the DPRK Supreme
People's Assembly (SPA) promulgated a decree dated Dec. 13 on
declaring an amnesty on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of
President Kim Il Sung. The decree says:
   "The presidium of the SPA of the DPRK makes the following decision to
fully implement the benevolent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea
true to the intention of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung in his
lifetime and his cause to the run-up to his 90th birth anniversary,
the greatest jubilee of the nation and the common holiday of
humankind:
   1. An amnesty shall be granted for those sentenced to reform through
labor for committing crimes against the country and people on the
occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of the great leader comrade Kim
Il Sung.
   2. The amnesty shall take effect from January, Juche 91 (2002).
   3. The cabinet and institutions concerned shall take practical steps
to enable those set free to work and live in normal conditions."

So there cannot be lots of prisoners in the DPRK as the House of Lords
allege.

ANTI DPRK PROVOCATION AND LIES

he imperialist media and the south Korean media are making a big fuss
concerning an incident involving a commerical freight aircraft which
supposedly was” carrying weapons from the DPRK”.
The following parts of the story are  suspicious ;

   * No DPRK national or ethnic Korean has been held in connection with
only 4 Kazhaks and a Belarussian
   * Thai authorities have for 48 hours not been able to say where plane
was going.
   * No independent evidence offered that plane had taken off from
Pyongyang
   * Captured weapons have not been displayed or proof offered that they
are DPRK weapons and they are new DPRK weapons(rather than 2nd hand ones
bought from another country).
