Dear comrades,

We’re pleased to extend you our warm comradely greetings.

Now in south Korea the struggle of the people from different social standings is getting fiercer as the days go by to sternly judge and oust the treacherous Lee Myung-bak regime which is crazy about pro-US sycophancy and anti-reunification confrontation to sell off the nation’s dignity and interests.

The Lee Myung-bak group which is getting into a severe political crisis due to the untiring people's struggle against it is desperately trying to cope with the crisis by merciless suppression.

The group unhesitatingly committed bestial atrocities of shooting water canons and extinguishers at the demonstrators indiscriminately, beating them with clubs and shields and tramped on them with army boots, branding their righteous candlelit demo as “illegal violent demonstration”.

As a result, the venues of the candlelit demos and nearby streets turned to fierce battlefields, numerous demonstrators including young schoolgirls and pregnant women were injured and arrested.

South Korea is now turning back to the past brutal era of military rule owing to the Lee group’s indiscriminate fascist suppression.

However no cruel suppression can check the just struggle of the south Korean people who rose up for the sake of the national dignity, democratic rights and freedom.

The Lee Myung-bak group must draw lessons from the miserable fates of the preceding traitorous regimes which attempted to avoid the ruling crisis by relying on violence and strength.

Denouncing the Lee Myung-bark group’s suppression as a “declaration of war against the people” and a “barbarous political repression” the south Korean people are now waging the candlelight struggle more vigorously.

The Lee Myung-bak group should stop at once the brutal suppression against the south Korean people's just struggle, retract its sycophantic and treacherous and anti-reunification moves, and set free all the arrested right now.

Availing ourselves of this opportunity we express again our expectation that you who value justice, peace, human rights and democracy would disclose and condemn the Lee Myung-bak group’s brutal suppression and render further support and solidarity to the righteous struggle of the south Korean people.

Yours comradely,

National Reunification Committee of the C.C of AINDF
