DPRK's Counteraction for Self-defence Will Be Put on Annual and Regular Basis: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- A touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean peninsula owing to the U.S.-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military drills.
Huge armed forces and latest nuclear strike means involved in UFG are enough to fight a war. It may develop into a dangerous total war on the Korean peninsula.
The army and people of the DPRK are following with the highest vigilance every move of the U.S. and south Korean puppet military gangsters to test the main programs of the "tailored deterrence strategy", the scenario for a preemptive nuclear strike at Pyongyang, the heart of the DPRK, and other strategic depths and important bases, during the drills for the first time in their history.
UFG is now escalating the military confrontation and tensions on the Korean peninsula and further increasing the danger of a nuclear war than ever before.
The war maniacs are terming the DPRK's counter-measures "threat" and "provocations," claiming that UFG is "annual and defensive one" in a bid to cover up its aggressive nature and danger.
This is an unpardonable military provocation as it is seriously threatening the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK and disturbing peace and stability on the peninsula.
The DPRK stands for peace, pursuant to its domestic and foreign policies.
Peaceful environment is very dear for the DPRK's development of economy and improvement of people's living standard.
Tension on the peninsula is nothing helpful to the DPRK either.
A series of military measures taken by the Korean People's Army including firing of tactical rockets are a legitimate exercise of its right to self-defence to cope with the U.S. nuclear threat and aggression which are driving the situation on the peninsula to the brink of a war and defend sovereignty of the country and security of the nation.
No one can take issue with all the military actions to be taken by the DPRK as they are a legitimate exercise of the right to self-defence to cope with the military provocations, threats and anti-DPRK nuclear war hysteria of the U.S. and south Korean puppet war maniacs.
Whoever hopes for peace and stability in the region and the rest of the world cannot but recognize the justice and inevitability of the DPRK's self-defence measures to protect the security of the country and the nation.
As long as the U.S. and south Korean puppet forces persist in their aggressive joint military drills and nuclear blackmail, the DPRK will put its military counteractions on an annual and regular basis at an unpredictably higher stage.
The DPRK will never remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. nuclear threat and blackmail. -0-
