Honoured academicians of the Korean Association of Social Scientists
Comrades and friends,
Firstly , it is a great honour to be here in Pyongyang , the revolutionary capital of People’s Korea , for the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the great Workers Party of Korea . The Workers Party of Korea founded by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG ,developed by Chairman KIM JONG IL and now led by respected comrade KIM JONG UN , is the organiser and guide of all the victories of the Korean people , it is the supreme general staff of the Korean revolution. All the achievements of People’s Korea that we see around us are the result of the leadership and guidance of the Workers Party of Korea over a period of eight decades.
The Workers Party of Korea has proved itself to be the most durable and invincible party with the longest history of a ruling party in a socialist country . Other communist and workers parties fell by the wayside or changed their tune but the Workers Party of Korea led by respected comrade KIM JONG UN is solid as a rock and marches forward proudly flying high the Red flag of Juche .
The Workers Party of Korea is guided by the Juche idea that was first authored by great President KIM IL SUNG and developed in depth by Chairman KIM JONG IL . The Workers Party of Korea (WPK ) is a great party of Juche .The Juche idea is a great banner of independence and a banner of justice . Armed with the great Juche idea the WPK has blazed a path of independence , of justice and constructed a proud socialist country based on the Juche idea . Juche-oriented socialism is people-centred socialism .Every day People’s Korea, the land of Juche ,sees new miracles .
Independence is justice. There can be no justice without independence . Independence is a central pillar of the Juche Idea. As President KIM IL SUNG wrote “Independence is what keeps man alive . If he loses independence in society , he cannot be called a man ;he differs little from an animal . We might say that socio-political life is more valuable to man than physical life . He is a social being . If he is forsaken by society and deprived of political independence although he seems alive , he is virtually dead as a social human being .That is why revolutionaries deem it far more honourable to die in the fight for freedom than to remain alive in slave”
Because the Juche idea represents justice , it won the support of peoples of many countries . The first Juche idea study groups were formed in West Africa at the end of the 1960s. Later the International Institute of the Juche Idea was founded in 1978 . This year the Asian Institute of the Juche Idea has celebrated its 45th foundation anniversary and soon the European Regional Society For the Study of the Juche Idea will celebrate its 40th foundation anniversary .
The WPK over the eight decades of its existence has always strived for justice and independence on an international scale ,upholding the banner of anti-imperialism .It has always opposed intervention , interference and hegemonism . In 1975 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea , President KIM IL SUNG put forward the slogan “ Let the peoples of the whole world advocating independence , unite !” . At the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea in 2021 respected comrade KIM JONG UN stressed that the WPK should “steadily expand solidarity with the anti-imperialist, independent forces.”
People’s Korea has always opposed imperialism including in particular US imperialism which is the ringleader of world imperialism and international reaction. As President KIM IL SUNG said “Us Imperialism Is The Most Barbarous And Shameless Aggressor Of Modern Times, The Main Force Of Aggression And War,The Ringleader Of World Reaction, The Bulwark Of Modern Colonialism, The Strangler Of National Liberation And Independence And The Disturber Of World Peace"
People’s Korea has not only put up militant slogans against US imperialism but has given practical and material assistance to the peoples of the world fighting for independence and justice against US led -imperialism .It gave assistance to Cuba, Vietnam , Egypt ,Syria and recently assisted the Russian people in the defence of the Kursk region against the Ukrainian neo-nazi puppets. The DPRK has supported the national rights of the Palestinian people against the Israeli Zionist aggressors.
The Juche idea authored by President KIM IL SUNG and developed in depth by Chairman KIM JONG IL is a guide for all countries to establish and defend independence . Peace can only be achieved when all countries are independent and free from domination , oppression , intervention and interference . The Juche idea teaches the peoples of the world to build countries that are politically independent , economically self-sufficient and self-reliant in defence . Peoples’ Korea itself is a living example of the application of independence , self-sufficiency and self-defence . Whilst conflicts rage in many parts of the world, the Korean peninsula enjoys peace thanks to the nuclear deterrent of the DPRK .Today People’s Korea is a society free from division , conflict and disorder , it is an oasis of calm in a troubled world .
Therefore the Juche idea is not only a banner of justice but also it is a manifesto for the construction of a peaceful world .
Long live Juche !
