Concluding Speech given by President KIM IL SUNG at a joint meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee

of the Workers Party of Korea and the Central Peoples Committee of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea on June 20th 1986.

KIM IL SUNG as well as devoting a lot of attention to the Korean Revolution and to the development of Korean-style socialism and to achieving the unity of the international communist movement, saw the necessity for the united action by all anti-imperialist forces. That is any party, movement and nation in opposition to imperialism. KIM IL SUNG made a number of relevant points in the speech to the Political Bureau of the WPK on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the non-aligned movement.

The non-aligned movement was formed by a grouping of developing countries who desired to be free themselves from the the systems of alliances, blocs and pacts which were concocted by the imperialists during the cold war. The 1st non-aligned meeting was in Bandung, Indonesia in 1956 and the non-aligned movement formalized its structure in 1961. The Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea was admitted to the non-aligned movement in August 1975 at the non-aligned foreign ministers conference held in Lima, Peru.

KIM IL SUNG during the opening section of the speech gives a militant and comprehensive analysis of the global struggle for independence against imperialism. KIM IL SUNG in the following extracts from the speech gives an account of imperialism's bloody past record.

"Aggression and plunder are inherent aspects of imperialism, and imperialism thrives on them. Imperialism is the product of aggression and plunder, and it has grow fat on ceaseless aggression and plunder. Since the emergence of imperialism mankind has suffered disasters of recurrent aggression and war, and has been deprived of immeasurable amounts of property, wealth and the fruits of labour.

As monopoly capital grows, so does its tentacles of aggression and plunder are extended overseas. This is an inevitable outcome and law of capitalism. There is no limit to the wild ambition and greed of imperialism. The fatter it is and the fuller its stomach, the more ambitious and greedy imperialism grows, and the more persistent and violent its acts of aggression and plunder become.

The methods of its aggression and plunder have changed with the progress of time. Today the imperialists are employing neo-colonialism to invade, dominate and plunder other countries.

After the Second World War the imperialist colonial system crumbled and the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America cast off the yoke of colonialism and embarked upon the road of independent development. In this new age the old method of imperialist colonial rule no longer worked. Without forming alliances, it became impossible for imperialism to maintain its position, dominate and plunder other other countries. Modern imperialism which was realigned into a united force headed by US imperialism after the Second World War, has been dominating and plundering newly-independent countries and the developing countries by means of neo-colonialism, which is less obvious and more crafty."

KIM IL SUNG in a passionate and vivid fashion condemns the plots and aggressions carried out by imperialism, US imperialism in particular. Reading this speech, you can get the sense that KIM IL SUNG really exposes the unjust and hypocritical nature of imperialism. The actions of the imperialists during the post-Second World War era are graphically illustrated by KIM IL SUNG. In the year which the speech was delivered the United States launched an air attack on the Libyan Jamahiriya codenamed "El Dorado". Among other targets hits by the US airforce in Tripoli, the Bab-al-Azizza complex was hit, killing the bady daughter of the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi'. The Reagan Administration had in that year increased its support for the Contras (counter-revolutionary bandits) in Nicaragua, which came in the form of the so-called "arms for hostages" deal. In 1986 the peoples of south Africa were struggling to cast off the yoke of the apartheid regime. The Botha regime declared a draconian state of emergency in response to the anti-racist uprising. In February of the same year the Philippine people rose up against the pro-US Marcos regime.

The 1980s saw an intensification of the anti-imperialist struggle throughout the Third World. As KIM IL SUNG pointed out the peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America were increasing their efforts for independence. KIM IL SUNG spoke out against the war moves of the imperialists in the following paragraphs.

"At present, the imperialists are building up arms on a large scale and accelerating the production and deployment of nuclear weapons in every way. As a result of their moves towards war, a large number of nuclear weapons have been deployed in many countries and in many parts of the world, nuclear fleets are constantly afloat on the Pacific, Indian and other oceans, nuclear armed forces are being massed particularly in the major regions of natural resources and in places that are strategic from a military point of view, and the number of new nuclear bases continues to increase. Military exercises and military activities which might lead to the outbreak of a nuclear war are being conducted ceaselessly on land, and in the territorial airspace and waters of non-aligned countries and in the surrounding areas.

Military blocs are footholds for imperialist aggression and war, and aggressive foreign military bases and troops are the means to dominate and control those countries in which they are sited. It is only when all military blocs and means of aggression and war have been eliminated from the Earth that world peace can be lasting and durable."

During his June 1986 speech KIM IL SUNG expressed his solidarity with the peoples fighting colonialism, especially with the Palestinian and South African peoples in the following terms.

"In an attempt to maintain their crumbling colonial system by every possible means, the imperialists are trying to put down the people's cause of liberation by force of arms and, at the same time, encouraging racism in every way. They have proclaimed South Africa and Israel as their friendly nations, as their allies, and are strengthening what they call cooperation with these countries in politics, diplomacy, economy, finance, military affairs, and in the nuclear field in particular.

The South African racist regime pursues the vicious policy of apartheid, racial discrimination, and the policy of brutal repression. It is trampling underfoot even the basic freedom and rights of the South African people, and is keeping them subjugated to the white people, who are the minority. The South African racists have occupied Namibia illegally and are tightening their colonial rule, resorting to the bloody suppression of the struggle of the Namibian people for national independence. The South African racist regime continues to perpetrate acts of aggression, intervention and state terrorism against Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and other frontline states, persisting in their scheme of destroying the peace of these countries and overthrowing their legitimate governments.

In order to realize their ambition to establish a Great Zionist Empire in the Middle East, the Israeli Zionists have occupied Arab lands and are pursuing the policy of establishing colonies. Under the active patronage of the imperialists they are flagrantly violating the national rights of the Palestinian and other Arab peoples, growing more blatantly ferocious and arrogant with each passing day.

In the present situation in which colonialists and racists are trying to stifle the cause of national liberation, and intensify their colonial exploitation and domination, the progressive people of the world are faced with the important task of stepping up the struggle to eliminate colonialism and racism by a united effort. It is only when all forms of colonialism and racism have eliminated from the globe that neither imperialist North America nor imperialist Western Europe will no exist any longer and that the peoples' liberation from the yoke of imperialism will be complete and final"

The strengthening and consolidation of the non-aligned movement and of south-south cooperation was of paramount importance for KIM IL SUNG. From the time of its admission to the non-aligned movement, the DPRK has played a active and constructive role in this organisation of developing countries. KIM IL SUNG in his writings devoted his theoretical endeavours to the building up of the non-aligned movement in such works as "THE NON-ALIGNED MOVEMENT IS A MIGHTY ANTI-IMPERIALIST REVOLUTIONARY FORCE OF OUR TIME," "FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN AFRICAN COUNTRIES", "LET NON-ALIGNED AND DEVELOPING COUNTRIES BUILD NATIONAL CULTURE UNDER THE BANNER OF INDEPENDENCE AND SOVEREIGNTY", "LET US DEVELOP SOUTH-SOUTH COOPERATION"among others.

The DPRK capital Pyongyang became a venue for non-aligned meetings and summits, with the Symposium of the Non-aligned & other Developing countries On Increasing Food Production held in Pyongyang in August 1981 and the Fourth Conference of Ministers of Information of Non-aligned countries being held in the Korean capital on June 15th 1993 as examples.

KIM IL SUNG promoted bilateral and multilateral relations with the non-aligned countries. From 1981 to 1985, for instance, heads of state and of governments and leaders of various national liberation movements visited Socialist Korea from 30 newly-emerging countries on 40 occasions. KIM IL SUNG exchanged views with the visiting heads of state & governments & national liberation movement leaders on the necessity of making the whole world independent and achieving unity within the ranks of the anti-imperialist forces on a global scale Between 1978 and 1984 the DPRK concluded treaties with 11 non-aligned countries such as The Central African Republic, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Togo, Angola, Libya, Ethiopia and Democratic Yemen.

KIM IL SUNG stated in his speech "The struggle for economic independence is a second liberation struggle to remove economic backwardness and poverty and achieve complete national sovereignty. The peoples of developing countries have to take it upon themselves to attain economic independence. The imperialists never present developing countries with economic independence. The non-aligned countries must pave the way for survival by effecting South-South cooperation under the banner of collective self-reliance, and build independent national economies.

If they realise South-South cooperation, the developing countries will be able to build up sufficient strength to countervail and negotiate with the developed countries, and begin a period favourable to establishing a new international economic order. There are many real situations and opportunities for South-South cooperation. The non-aligned and developing countries have vast territories rich in raw materials, and have acquired valuable experience and expertise in the course of creating a new life. If they mobilize their manpower and material resources to the full, and build up economic cooperation and exchange on the principle of providing for each other needs, the developing countries will find solutions to the difficult and complex problems that arise in building a new life without asking for the help of the developed countries. Historical experience shows that poor and backward countries can achieve great things if they combine their efforts.

The non-aligned and developing countries must start in those areas where cooperation and exchange is feasible and urgent, and extend cooperation and exchange in every way so as to free their peoples from backwardness and poverty, hunger and disease, and achieve economic independence."

In practical terms, the DPRK has had a proud tradition of promoting South-South cooperation throughout the decades. The DPRK has helped to train agro-technicians from many developing countries. Korean technical staff have worked in a number of African and Asian countries at a low cost to their host nation. At KIM IL SUNG's recommendation agricultural centres were set up in Tanzania and Guinea for Korean and African agro-scientists to conduct joint research projects on agricultural technologies which are suited to the actual conditions of Africa and to generalize the results on the African continent and in other parts of the third world.

Peoples Korea has in the past sent volunteers and material assistance to Vietnam, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Cuba and to other peoples resisting the common enemies of the global south, imperialism, Zionism, racism and colonialism. KIM IL SUNG concluded with this note "To strengthen and develop the Non-Aligned Movement steadily is an important guarantee for the accomplishment of the cause of independence in opposition to imperialism.

The Non-Aligned Movement is a powerful independent force of our times which is opposed to imperialism. Only when this movement is strengthened will it be possible to succeed in repelling all forms of imperialist domination and subjugation, aggression and intervention, defend the sovereignty of the non-aligned countries and settle not only the problem of establishing a new international economic order but also all other issues in the international arena in accordance with the aspirations and desires of the peoples of the newly-emergent countries for independence. And it will also make it possible to prevent a nuclear war, defend universal peace and security, and give a strong impetus to the cause of national liberation.

Independence in the face of imperialism is the basic ideal of the non-aligned movement, and it is its fundamental principle to act independently and refrain from joining any bloc. Only when all its member nations hold fast to independence can the movement maintain its intrinsic character, strengthen its power and realize the noble ideal of independence in the face of imperialism. If they fail to maintain independence, the non-aligned movement will inevitably deteriorate.

The non-aligned countries must always stick firmly to independence in all their activities. They must categorically reject all foreign interference and must not follow other countries blindly. They must respect the independence of other countries and refrain from interfering in others internal affairs or infringing upon their interests.

Unity is the life and soul of this movement and the source of its power. Without unity, it is impossible to conceive that this movement could exist, nor could we talk of about its power. Throughout history it has been proved: Together we stand, divided we fall. They must take to foster and develop the factors that unite them and get rid of those that divide them, and must work exclusively towards unity. They must not be antagonize or quarrel with each other, duped by the imperialists' instigation's and tricks, but must counter their manoeuvres for division and alienation with the strategy of unity.

The Government of the DPRK will in the future, too, remain loyal to the principles and ideals of the non-aligned movement and will make every effort to strengthen and develop this movement"

KIM JONG IL has inherited and developed the proletarian internationalist traditions of strengthening the DPRK's ties of friendship and solidarity with the non-aligned countries. The DPRK's leading party and state officials paid visits in 2007 & 2008, for instance, to Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

Some 25 years after KIM IL SUNG made this analysis of the non-aligned movement, imperialism has become even more frenzied in attempts to re-colonize anti-imperialist and independent countries. Only in the course of this year,2011,alone, we have witness a NATO intervention into Libya and Western ventures to destabilize Syria. Afghanistan and Iraq remain under the tutelage of the imperialists.

Juche Korea is a country fully independent from the dictates of the trans-national corporations, the IMF and the World Bank. The Democratic Peoples republic of Korea is a model of total independence which is attracting the attention and aspirations of the developing world. KIM JONG IL's Songun Politics proves to those who are fighting imperialism, colonialism and racism, that is possible to resist and win in the struggle for independence and national assertiveness. The works of President KIM IL SUNG and of Chairman KIM JONG IL on non-alignment and on the need for anti-imperialist unity are an invaluable guide to those parties and movements, countries and peoples seeking their genuine national and social liberation from neo-colonialism and globalism.

Pyongyang, September 29 (KCNA) -- For a people to apply the principle of national independence to the revolution and construction serves as a touchstone deciding whether they take the road of prosperity and independent development of the country and the nation or allow themselves to go to subjugation and national ruin. Rodong Sinmun Thursday says this in a bylined article.

It goes on:

In order to apply the principle of national independence, the people should always seek their own methods and ways for the revolution and construction and solve every problem by their own efforts depending on them. They should not pin any hope on "remedy" given by the imperialists.

All the nations should reject foreign forces' interference and pressure and handle and decide on national issues according to their own view and confidence, independent decision and judgment to meet their requirements and interests on the principle of national independence.

Always hidden behind the "remedy" given by the imperialists to force others to accept it is a dagger to hurt and dominate others.

The people who firmly adhere to the principle of national independence can advance the revolution and construction triumphantly, decisively smashing any moves of the imperialists and hegemonic forces but those who give up the principle of national independence are bound to curry favor with others and pin hope on other's "remedy" and finally become their slaves.

A bitter lesson was taught by the miserable fate of the countries and nations, who harboring illusion about the imperialists and hegemonic forces gave up the revolutionary principle and allowed themselves compromise and concession to serve them.

The Korean people feel great national pride and honor of having advanced the revolutionary cause of Juche while solving every problem in the revolution and construction by their independent viewpoint and their own way under the outstanding and tested leadership of Kim Jong Il -0-

On the Anniversary of the WPK Conference

ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF SONGUN POLITICS UK

The Association for the Study of Songun Politics of the UK, Juche Idea Study Group ofEngland and UK Korean Friendship Association today issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the historic conference of the Worker's Party of Korea .

The WPK successfully held a conference on the 28th of September 2010. This conference, held in the year of the 65th anniversary of the foundation of the WPK powerfully demonstrated the invincible and harmonious unity of the people, party and army around the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il .
Reflecting the deep trust and support of the Korean people the conference unanimously reelected the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK. Also Comrade Kim Jong Un was elected vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and member of the central committee of the WPK. This shows that the revolution in the DPRK will continue forever down the generations.
The conference took decisions to build up the party more firmly as the party of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung and a militant revolutionary party of Juche firmly upholding the Songun revolutionary leadership. The conference was truly another milestone on the road to final victory of the Juche revolutionary cause.

The conference dashed the insidious expectations of the imperialists and renegades of socialism who hoped to stifle Juche socialism by inducing the DPRK to 'reform ' and 'opening up'. The WPK paid no heed to such nonsense and declared it would continue along the road of independent Juche socialism , a socialism of Korean style centred upon the popular masses

Since the conference the Korean people inspired by the decisons of the conference and the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il have marched forward creating new miracles of socialist construction. Giant construction projects ,which are awe inspiring in scale, such the Mansudae housing project and the Huichon power station have been pushed ahead at a time when the capitalist world is deep in crisis and capitalist countries cut public spending. We can only gaze on in wonder but also took inspiration and vitality from the achievements of socialist construction on Korea.
We are totally convinced that the conference of the Workers' Party of Korea was a major turning point in carrying forward the Juche revolutionary cause and construction of socialism

KCNA Report Reviews Successes in Socialist Construction after WPK Conference

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency released a report on Monday on great changes brought about in socialist construction for the past one year since the historic conference of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The report says:

The conference which was convened on September 28, Juche 99 (2010) is shining as an important event that provided a landmark of an epochal turn in strengthening the party and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The people's loyalty for the leader has also grown more intense with the historic conference as an occasion.

The whole country celebrated the great auspicious event of having invariably held leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem.

The grand political festival celebrating the 65th anniversary of the WPK in October following the conference hardened the support and trust of the army and people in the party.

The leadership ability of the WPK has remarkably grown stronger under the banner of the conference the core of which are the spirit of single-minded unity, the spirit of forced march and the spirit of uninterrupted revolution.

Millions of party members, servicepersons and other people turned out in the general offensive to embody the spirit of the conference under the party's leadership.

Mosaics portraying the peerlessly great persons were erected in units associated with their leadership feats.

The WPK has grown stronger in organizational and ideological aspects as required by the history in which signal changes have been brought about in carrying out the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The three revolution red flag movement has been intensified under the party's leadership.

More than 480 units including Jaeryong Mine and Pyongyang Combined Printing House won the title of the three revolution flag. Units which won triple and double three revolution flag titles claim over 130 including the Department of Earth Environment Science of Kim Il Sung University and Mangyongdae Vegetable Farm in Mangyongdae District.

The youth general mobilization meeting of Songun took place in Pyongyang in February.

Five million young people responded to the call of the meeting for becoming youth heroes in the general charge for opening a gate to a thriving nation.

The elections of deputies to the provincial, city and county people's assemblies in July strikingly demonstrated the invincibility of the most dignified and prestigious WPK and the DPRK government and the revolutionary spirit of the ranks of the single-minded unity trusting and following the party and the leader only.

The hot wind of a great surge swept all the construction sites for building an economic power true to the spirit of the historic conference.

"Let us struggle and create as befitting the descendants of the great Comrade Kim Il Sung!" This has become a maxim of the ranks out in the great surge.

Fresh successes were registered one after another in the new Chollima speed, Huichon speed in the construction site of Huichon Power Station, forefront of the drive for building a thriving nation.

Greater spurs were put to the light industrial field which the party has again set as the pilot front of the general offensive for this year in the wake of last year.

A great many light industrial factories put their production processes on modern lines.

The converting and spinning shop of Hamhung Woolen Textile Mill was renovated, beginning to produce vinalon from March this year.

Pyongyang Flour Processing Factory came on line in December last year after going through fundamental changes. Sonhung Foodstuff Factory turned into a combined foodstuff processing base, meat stuffed pastry shop of Kumsong Foodstuff Factory into fast food production center while Pyongyang Stevia Processing Factory into sweetener mass production center. This showcases well the development of the country's foodstuff industry.

Flame of innovation was kindled to develop local industries.

A solid groundwork for building an economic power was laid one upon another in the pilot and all other fields of the national economy.

Great progress was made in the efforts to put the metal industry on Juche and modern basis. Nationwide drive is being waged to make railways, arteries of the country and pilot of the national economy, heavy-duty and modern the machine-building industry is pushing back the frontiers.

Eye-opening events were registered one after another in the efforts for the wellbeing of the people.

Frontier has been pushed back in the fish farming as a result of which modern big sturgeon farming system was set up and sea farming of sturgeon and rainbow trout made a complete success. There sprang up a Korean style combined fish farming research institute in the area along the east coast in which the study, farming and processing of delicious fishes have been integrated.

Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm and Kosan Fruit Farm were expanded, presenting vast sea of fruit trees. Taedonggang Combined Fruit Processing Factory is proud of having pushed back the frontiers of the latest science and technology.

Toksong Orchard is another reminder of the golden days the Korean fruit farming has greeted. A combined vegetable science research and production center was built, advancing the country's agricultural development.

Modern catering and commercial service centers mushroomed and deluxe apartment houses were built at the foot of Haebang Hill. Cultural centers for the people have undergone changes in their appearance.

A grand construction drive is progressing apace on the occasion of the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung to turn Pyongyang into a magnificent world-level city replete with the revolutionary view on the leader and a capital of a thriving nation in which people's dreams have come true.

Park like streets of peculiar Korean style perfect in formative and artistic aspects are taking their shape in dozens of hectares in the Mansudae area where the statue of the President stands.

Rungrado Pleasure Ground is being re-arranged for the people's highly civilized cultural and emotional life while modern combined service facilities and people's outdoor ice rink are under construction on the bank of the picturesque River Taedong. Hundreds of blocks of modern vegetable greenhouses and flower greenhouses are also under construction.

The hot wind of pushing back the frontiers of the latest science ad technology has raged in the general offensive in the present knowledge-based era.

The group of researchers of the Biology Engineering Branch of the State Academy of Sciences achieved signal success in the gene and cell engineering field while teachers and researchers of Kim Il Sung University introduced the modern image technology of converting black and white films into color ones.

The spirit of the conference was displayed in the cultural construction also.

Drama "We will recollect today" created and staged by the State Theatrical Troupe has become another masterpiece representing the literature and art in the Songun era, an excellent textbook for ideological education and a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize for its perfect ideological value and artistry.

Huge progress was made in the popular culture and art and the air trapeze of the DPRK has retained the world title. Sportspersons also bagged many gold medals in international games.

All these creation and changes would have been unthinkable without Kim Jong Il's leadership full of patriotism and dedication.

He continued his forced march of field guidance in the wake of his historic long foreign visits in May and August, encouraging the army and people to work fresh miracles.

It is a review of the past one year of struggle that the Korean people are sure to win the victory of a great surge oriented toward 2012 as well as the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche when they remain loyal to the party's leadership while carrying forward the traditions of Mt. Paektu closely united around Kim Jong Il. -0-

Victory of Socialism, Historical Inevitability

The process of development of human society is a history of struggle of the masses of the people for their independence. In the protracted course of history, social systems, have been replaced repeatedly as they were anti-popular systems which resorted to the oppression and obliteration of the independence of the people. the masses of the people have longed for a new social system which would champion and ensure their independence, and made strenuous efforts to realize it. It resulted in the emergence of socialism.



Socialism is a noble ideal and revolutionary banner of the people fighting for independence. The independence of the people could not be realized in the previous societies because all of them were based on individualism. A society based on private ownership and individualism spawned by it is bound to divide itself into classes hostile to one another. In the long run, it leads to class antagonism, social inequality, and exploitation and oppression of the masses by a handful of the ruling class. In order to realize the independence of the masses it is necessary to overturn the society based on individualism and build a society based on collectivism-a socialist society. This is precisely the historical review of the development of human society.



The current realities of the international community clearly substantiate it. The hostile contradictions of the capitalist society based on individualism are being carried to an extreme. The phenomena of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer are further widespread, with the result that a tiny handful of 100 households are now owning property outmeasuring those of 2 000 million people. Several years ago when the US administration attempted to provide colossal amount of national fund to its monopoly financial giants on the verge of bankruptcy, many demonstrators paraded through the streets, shouting slogans, Don’t pour the blood of the poor into the property of the rich, Don’t rescue the Wall Street but the workers, Socialism delivers the poor from crisis, and the like. This eloquently proves that only socialism is a society which defends and realizes the independent rights and interests of the masses of the people.



Man can transform nature and society and carve out his destiny, not individually, but through collective cooperation of the members of a society. It is a way of human existence to form a social collective and work there, and the independent demand of a human being can be met satisfactorily only through collectivism. The socialist society based on collectivism is indeed the most advanced and advantageous society congenial to the independent nature of human being.



The imperialists are leaving no stone unturned in order to arrest the aspiration of humankind after socialism and stamp it out. In the closing years of the last century socialism experienced a temporary setback owing to the mean tricks employed by the imperialist forces to overthrow socialism, including bribing of the renegades of socialism.



The fact that the imperialists are trying hard to wipe out socialism proves the superiority of socialism over capitalism. If capitalism is superior to socialism, they will have no need to make desperate efforts to destroy the latter by employing all kinds of methods such as military arbitrariness, psychological warfare and economic blockade. For fear of the fact that the world capitalist system will be totally crumbled by the attraction and influence of socialism in case the socialist countries are left as they are, they are resorting to every possible means and methods.



This notwithstanding, the more desperate efforts they make the stronger the struggle becomes to defend and advance socialism. The trend of aspiration for socialism is conspicuous in Latin America, too, which has been called a “quite backyard” of the United States.



In April 1992, 70 political parties aspiring to socialism, including communist and workers’ parties of the world, signed and made public the Pyongyang Declaration “Let us defend and advance the cause of socialism.” This served as a historic momentum which dealt a heavy blow at the imperialists who had dreamt of “complete end of socialism on this planet,” availing themselves of the collapse of socialism in some countries, and which made it possible to advance the world socialist movement along a new orbit. The number of political parties that signed the Pyongyang Declaration saw an increase of over 270. The socialist cause, the independent cause of the people, has broken through the passing crisis and made fresh strides, bringing about a great change in the political circles of the world.



The realities of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea demonstrating its dignified appearance as an invincible bulwark which opposes imperialism and staunchly defends the cause of socialism instill great confidence and courage in the minds of the peoples throughout the world. True to the Songun politics administered by leader Kim Jong Il, the Korean people are resolutely frustrating the anti-socialist offensive of imperialism by directing great efforts to the buildup of self-defensive forces and, at the same time, pushing forward their drive to build a great, prosperous and powerful socialist country.



The cause of socialism will continue to make a vigorous advance towards the complete victory.

KCNA Commentary on U.S. Drone Operation

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- Secret U.S. drone bases were built in Ethiopia and Seychelles. The construction of a secret airfield is now making brisk headway on the Arabian Peninsula, The Washington Post said on Sept. 21.

U.S. enterprises including Graman, Boeing, Lockheed Martin are vying with each other in developing drones such as ones meant for aircraft carriers with huge investment.

This goes to prove that the U.S. is attaching ever increasing importance to drone operations and pushing forward them in real earnest.

The main target of the drone operation is the Asian Pacific region.

The U.S. is mulling transferring 53 tactical drones of the U.S. Air Force such as "predator" and "reeper" to East Asia from Iraq and Afghanistan. And it seeks to deploy more efficient strategic drone reconnaissance planes as Global Hawk in the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula.

Then why such frantic moves?

They can be explained by the U.S. aim to put increased spurs to the pursuance of its unchallenged Asia-Pacific strategy.

The U.S. considers the Asia-Pacific region as more important than any other regions in its strategy for dominating the world. It remains unchanged in its strategy of strength to maintain a military edge over this region.

That is why the U.S. is keen on bolstering its aggressor forces to ensure its military edge in the above-said region where the interests of big powers are intertwined.

This is proved by assertions of the commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet in charge of Pacific and Indian oceans. He said that "these oceans would play an essential role in operations to be staged in the region in the future".

As U.S. forces are set to gradually withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, many drones which have been operating in the skies of those countries for the last decade are being transferred to the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula en masse.

A U.S. website disclosed a plan of the U.S. Defense Department to intensely monitor the military actions of China and the DPRK through the transfer of most of drones to East Asia.

Global Hawk, in particular, is capable of monitoring the whole territory of the DPRK while flying over the areas along the Military Demarcation Line of Korea. It is reported that while flying over the East Sea of China this drone can spy not only on the important targets of the Chinese People's Liberation Army but tactical missile launching bases on the south east coasts of China.

Its moves to step up the drone operations in the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula indicate that the scenario of the U.S. warmongers to spark another Korean war by shifting the theatre of "anti-terror war" to East Asia from Western Asia has reached a grave phase.

These moves would entail such serious consequences as encouraging the arms buildup in the region and escalating the contradiction and tension among the countries concerned as they are a challenge to the trend of the times towards disarmament and peace. The U.S. is going reckless, seized with hegemony and megalomania. The 21st century is by no means "a century for the U.S."

The U.S. would be well advised to awake from its daydream to dominate the world by force of arms and behave itself. -0-

Rodong Sinmun Calls on Officials to Listen to People and Find What to Do among Them

Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- Officials should listen to people and find what to do among them in order to creditably fulfill their honorable duties. Rodong Sinmun Sunday says this in a bylined article.

For officials to listen to people and find what to do among them is not a mere matter related to their popular character but is an important requirement for defending and glorifying Korean-style socialism.

The people are the basis of socialism. If party and government officials undertake any work in a subjective manner and force people to do it, disregarding their voices, this will entail such serious consequences as alienating people from the party and the state. This is clearly proved by a historical lesson taught by those countries where socialism collapsed.

What the officials in the DPRK desire most at present is to work in such a manner as to be remembered by leader Kim Jong Il. They should work so devotedly that they may be always remembered by him even after their death.

What efforts an official has exerted to meet the interests of the people is the only standard whereby he appreciates officials' work.

Officials should display such bravery, creativity and perseverance as creating everything out of nothing if it is required by the revolution and desired by people.

Let us do work better to bring pleasure to the people! This is the work-style being displayed among those servants for the people who give importance to the voices of the masses.

The UK Korean Friendship Association today issued the following statement about the 62nd anniversary of the passing away of Madame Kim Jong Suk, the anti Japanese woman partisan leader and Mother of Korea.
Madame Kim Jong Suk's passing away was a great loss to the Korean people as Madame Kim Jong Suk had played a key role in the building of a new Juche Korea, a Korea independent of Japanese imperalist oppression to say nothing of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Comrade Kim Jong Suk had distinguished herself in the anti-Japanse armed struggle led by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung . She was not only a leader of women partisans but also a crackshot and an indomitable revolutionary anti-imperialist fighter.

She always lived a humble life, sharing sweets and bitters with the ordinary people, both before and after liberation.

She was an example of loyalty as well possessing deep humanity putting the interest of others before her own.

fight against the double and triple oppression of Japanese imperialism and feudalism She was the indomitable communist revolutionary fighter as well as a great partisan. After liberation she played an important role in building a new democratic peoples Korea as well as in the emancipation of women from feudal oppression. Actions against Imperialists′ Moves to Stamp Out Anti-Imperialist and Independent Forces Called for

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The world progressives should get united and frustrate the moves of the imperialists to stamp out the anti-imperialist and independent forces.

Rodong Sinmun Tuesday urges this in a signed article.

It goes on:

The imperialists try to completely eliminate the socialist countries from the surface of the earth by strategy of "peaceful transition".

They are persistently working to shake faith in socialism among the people and benumb their revolutionary consciousness in a bid to destabilize the above-said countries.

Their imposition of "multi-party system" and "democracy" and talk about "defence of human rights," etc. are nothing but cunning methods employed by the imperialists to hold in check the advance of the anti-imperialist and independent countries.

Through bourgeois ideological and cultural poisoning the imperialists seek to benumb the people's consciousness of independence and reduce them to slaves serving them.

The imperialists bribe some non-aligned countries in a bid to sow the seeds of discord and split within the movement and make contradiction and confrontation fester and thus pit its member states against each other. They leave no means untried to hamstring the efforts of the non-aligned countries to boost the South-South cooperation and put the noose of economical dependence upon the necks of those countries.

Rodong Sinmun Exposes Harmful Impact of Western-style 'Democracy'

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Those countries aspiring after independence should clearly see through the imperialists' ambitious spread of "democracy" and resolutely reject it, urges Rodong Sinmun Monday in a by-lined article.

The U.S.-style "democracy" based on extreme individualism and liberalism took its shape through ceaseless wars of aggression and plunder. This reactionary and unpopular politics reflect the greed of monopoly financial combines and absolutely protect their interests, not the will and desire of the working people, the article says, and goes on:

Social inequality and disparity worsened and contradiction and conflict festered between popular masses and capitalist class in the U.S. and other Western countries under this "democracy".

The harmful impact of Western-style "democracy" on the international community causes political instability and serious abuse of the political and economic rights of the working people.

Political unrest and military coup fueled by partisan infighting in more than 10 African countries over the past several years show the harmful effect of the "multi-party system".

Political and economic difficulties deepened and factional and national disputes were heated up in those countries which accepted Western-style "democracy" as "prescribed" by the imperialists.

The imperialists' moves to spread "democracy" reveal their crafty and vicious brigandish nature to sacrifice others to meet their interests and realize their hegemonic ambition. -0-

ASSPUK and JISGE communique on succesful meeting on the occasion of the foundation of the DPRK

ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF SONGUN POLICITICS UK

The Juche Idea Study Group of England and the Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK held a successful meeting to mark the 63rd anniversary of the foundation of the the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 17th 2011. It was held in central London.
The meeting was attended by Dr Vishwanath dirctor general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea and members of his family . Also a lecturer in economics at London University was in attendance. The meeting was attended by members of the ASSPUK and JISGE and others .
Chairman of the JISGE said in his opening remarks that
" The DPRK was founded on the 9th of September 1948 by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung as a pure manifestation of the will of the entire Korean people north and south. The DPRK is the only legitimate state in Korea as it was founded by the will of the Korean people. The DPRK is the fruit of the anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. Under the leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung the Korean people solved the question of power the most pressing question in the revolution . The foundation of the DPRK was a powerful inspiration to the peoples of Asia and the oppressed countries of the world in their struggle for independence and national liberation. It was a great inspiration to the international proletariat advancing towards socialism."

Dr Vishwanath director general of the IIJI then addressed the meeting . He said that he started studying the DPRK and the Juche in 1968 and visited it the DPRK for the first time in 1974. Since then he had actively being involved in studying and promoting the Juche idea . He praised the role of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung in liberating the Korean people from Japanese imperialism . Vishwanath said that the great leader President Kim Il Sung was the greatest of great men . The DPRK is able to provide a good life to everyone including jobs and food. This is a result of the Juche Idea . Dr Vishwanath said that the Juche idea costs nothing to study but pays in plenty. He said that the Juche idea needs to be promoted more vigorously in the UK . He stressed that next year is the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. Many great events will be organised to mark this occasion including a World Juche Conference in Pyongyang , UK Juche idea followers must organise a delegation to this important event.
The lecturer from the University of London made a presentation entitled " Tasks of Social Scientists In the Study and Propagation of the Juche Idea in England " . He said that "the central task of Juche social scientists in this country is to bring home to their colleagues the fact that the supreme achievement of progressive thought in our time has not come , as much
currently dominant dogma might suggest, from within currents of thought , developed
within the countries of developed capitalism but from within the anti-imperialist struggle for independence" , He said ,furthermore , that "Songun politics , the politics of building on and further developing the military-first character of the activities of Kim Il Sung since his early days . This enabled the Korean people, united around their leader Kim Jong Il, to defy the crisis ridden imperialist system without flinching and has provided an inspiration to the peoples of the whole world". The speaker referred to his earlier paper "The Juche Idea a unique and original revolutionary ideology"


Chairman of the JISGE read out a presentation on the work "Let Us Accomplish the Cause of Socialism and Communism Under the Revolutionary Banner of the Juche Idea" He said "The revolutionary spirit of self-reliance was the weapon to overcome the age old backwardness. The source of the DPRK’s great victories in socialist construction was that the people were united with one ideology . Taking pause to reflect on this I pointed out to some people that the recent riots in the UK could not happen in the DPRK because of people being united with one ideology.

Our people are now enjoying fully independent and creative lives in the embrace of the Republic, as masters of the state and society.
In our country all the people exercise their full rights to indepen­dence through their active participation in the political life of the state. They are adding lustre to their worthwhile lives through their creative struggle to achieve the high aim set by the Party, helping and leading each other forward, closely united on the basis of revo­lutionary constancy and comradeship. All the material and cultural needs, such as food, clothing, and housing, are met by the state, which also provides them with secure jobs according to their abilities. They are leading equally happy lives, receiving the benefits of free education, free medical care and so on from the state and soci­ety
The above passage I think sums up the advantages of socialism in the DPRK . It is not just a question of material security, though of course , this is very important in itself , but they the people of the DPRK live in a united society and there is comradeship. Moreover they are the masters of society.........
The work “LET US ACCOMPLISH THE CAUSE OF SOCIALISM AND COMMUNISM UNDER THE REVOLUTIONARY BANNER OF JUCHE” is a highly valuable work that deserves to be studied today as it gives answers to questions arising in the building of socialism and time has proved its validity..

The secretary general of the JISGE introduced the work "For the Development of the Non Aligned Movement" presented by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung 25 years on 20th June 1986. He said that during the 1980s the national liberation movement was making great victories even though the US imperialists and their stooges the Israeli Zionists and South African racists had tried to stifle it. President Kim Il Sung had said in the work that "The anti-imperialist struggle must be instensified continously " and that when "colonialism and racism have been eliminated from the globe neither imperialist North America nor imperialist Western Europe will cease to exist". The speaker stressed that the DPRK had given great aid to the NAM and the national liberation struggle.
A message to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il was adopted . The meeting concluded at 6.55pm and refreshments were served.

The mysterious "hunger striker" and "indymedia " censorship

The self styled "hunger striker " Mr Okhwan Yoon who was staging an anti-DPRK , anti-communist provocation in Parliament square London seems to have gone quiet . By rights he would be have starved to death by now but all mention of his 'hunger strike has ceased and he does not refer it on his twitter page.
Mr Yoon's "hunger strike' was staged at a time when the people of Jeju island south Korea were conducting a struggle against the construction of a naval base on the island. They met with repression but Mr Yoon's "hunger strike" thousands of miles away in London won favour with the south Korean ruling elite who publicised it. Similarly the workers of the Hanjin company went on strike against mass dismissals and occupied a crane . Mr Yoon's slogans were identical to to those of the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime. Effectively he served them by a) diverting attention away from legitmate labour movement struggles and peace struggles in south Korea b) using their slogans against the DPRK c) calling for the DPRK to "open up" ie restore capitalism and extend the puppet colonial rule to the north d) pyschological warfare and provocation aimed at DPRK diplomats and DPRK overseas students in London.
When a question was posted to Indymedia UK along with materials on the Jeju island
struggle and Hanjin struggle , Indymedia did not allow it. It was not even allowed to go on as a hidden posting, just deleted straight away. This is appalling censorship by Indymedia UK

U.S. Backing of S. Korean Conservative Organizations in Their Anti-DPRK Campaigns Disclosed

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed that the United States strongly backed the south Korean right-wing conservative organizations in their anti-DPRK campaigns, according to an internet website of south Korea on Sept. 15.

The U.S. provided 15 conservative organizations of south Korea active for anti-DPRK plots and psychological warfare with about 1.3 million U.S. dollars from October 2010 to early in September this year through the U.S. National Democracy Fund, a body for psychological warfare.

This fund was spent by the conservative group for conducting psychological warfare against the DPRK.

Last year, the south Korean military authorities took a measure to resume psychological warfare against the DPRK and set about conducting it. Pursuant to this measure, the conservative group kicked off such extreme racket of confrontation as conducting a psychological warfare from the light house atop Aegi Hill in Kagum-ri, Hasong-myon of Kimpho City in Kyonggi Province.

Backed by the authorities recently, they worked hard to send leaflets, unsavory animation files and paper money to areas of the north along the Military Demarcation Line.

It has become clear once again that all these actions little short of a declaration of war against the DPRK were perpetrated with the active backing of the U.S. -

presentation on the work "Let Us Accomplish the Cause of Socialism and Communism Under the revolutionary banner of the Juche Idea"

This work which is 23 years old was one of the last major policy speeches made by the great leader President Kim Il Sung . He was 76 years old when this speech and he was very much the veteran and the elder statesman of the international communist movement at the time. He had led 4 decades of socialist construction , which included two stages of social revolution . This work was written and delivered to mark the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK in 1988. Now some at the time who perhaps did not fully understand the Juche idea or the experience may have quibbled a bit about the importance of this speech as a number of socialist countries at the time had celebrated or were celebrating their 40th anniversary the. It actually took the passing of years and tragic events that unfolded in the socialist camp to fully amplify and demonstrate the importance of this work for all to see and prove its validity as the most of the other socialist countries celebrating their 40th anniversaries did not last another year (save for Albania and Yugoslavia which carried on until the early 1990s).
Thus the speech was delivered at time when the international situation was very complicated due to the moves of the imperialists and renegades from socialism to destroy socialism from within using the “peaceful transition “ strategy(worked out by Allen Dulles of the CIA years ago). In the speech comrade Kim Il Sung alludes to the “vortex of history “ which I think sums up the times. At the time the DPRK was under massive pressure to adopt the lines of perestroika . Though we were unaware of it behind the scenes there were sharp clashes between DPRK and Soviet diplomatic representatives.
President Kim Il Sung had warned WPK officials several times in 1987 about the dangers of modern revisionism .
However internally the situation was very good . The DPRK had completed the 2nd 7 year plan at the end of 1984 . Industrial output had grown 2.2 times and grain ouput had soared to 10 millions tons. Afterwards there was a 2 year adjustment period and a the third seven year plan started in 1987. This was elaborated on in another major policy speech made to the Supreme Peoples Assembly known as “ For the Complete Victory of Socialism “. I think it can be said that this work we are studying now is follows on logically from the work “For Complete Victory of Socialism “ which presented tasks for the complete victory of socialism whereas this work boldly proclaims the accomplishment of the socialist and communist cause under the banner of Juche . The DPRK’s stance in not only maintaining socialism but aiming for the complete victory of socialism at a time was socialism was being abandoned elsewhere was not only heroic but showed the level of confidence that resulted from the establishment of Juche .
Indeed this work serves as a good introduction to how Juche was applied in practice.
Given the time it was made it was a strong reaffirmation of Juche socialism and an explanation of the DPRK’s experience in state building and the question of the solution of power the key question in the revolution and construction. This work also refutes the anti socialist offensive carried out under the guise of perestroika.
The work is divided into four parts. The first part being a summing up of the DPRK’s experience in socialist construction since its foundation , the second part is a brilliant exposition of the lines for socialist construction based on the Juche idea, it basically explains what Juche means in practical and concrete terms, the third part deals with the reunification issue and the fourth part addresses the question of reunification which of course is a key question.

In the first part comrade Kim Il Sung adroitly puts the DPRK ’s foundation within historical context as well explaining the vitality of the DPRK’s socialist system and the validity of the Juche-orientated lines and policies . Also this part b basically explains why the anniversary of the foundation of the Republic is so important. This is put in a succinct way
“Establishment of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a great achievement gained by our revolution through a long-drawn-out, arduous struggle for independence. It is the genuine political power of the people, which is meeting the masses’ desire for inde­pendence and realizing with credit their ideals by implementing the Juche idea.
Our Republic has grown from the deep historical roots of the glo­rious anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle”

This sums up the very nature and essence of the DPRK and its historical roots in the anti-Japanese struggle. These revolutionary traditions enabled the Korean revolutionaries
to establish the DPRK despite the opposition of the US imperialist who had occupied the south of Korea and rigged up a puppet regime there. As comrade Kim Il Sung says
“The glorious revolutionary traditions of the anti-Japanese revolu­tionary struggle and the brilliant success achieved by our people in their creative struggle for democratic construction after liberation became the unshakable foundations for establishment of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea”

The DPRK travelled an ardoros road , it was as a thorny path fraught with obstacles and difficulties but as the following passage shows the results were quite substantial

"Under the correct leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Government of the Republic, our people have thwarted, at every step, the aggression and ceaseless provocative moves of US imperialism, the ringleader of world imperialism, and safeguarded the dignity of the Republic with honour. In the difficult circumstances of a divided and age-long backward country they promoted the socialist revolution and the building of socialism by displaying fortitude and the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance. After their victory in the Fatherland Liberation War our people established an advanced socialist system by completing transformation of production rela­tions in urban and rural communities along socialist lines within a short space of time, carried out the historic task of industrialization and built an excellent independent socialist national economy. The magnificent, creative and constructive struggle for socialism has trained them to be unconquerable, fully equipped with the Juche idea and united closely under one ideology and purpose, and our country has become a powerful socialist state that is independent, self-suffi­cient and capable of self-reliant national defence.
Our people are now enjoying fully independent and creative lives in the embrace of the Republic, as masters of the state and society."
I think the above quote is an excellent historical summary of the DPRK and also in a succinct way explains the DPRK’s mission and nature.
This passage makes clear that the leading role of the Partry and government are essential. The revolutionary spirit Self-reliance was the weapon to overcome the age old backwardness. The source of the DPRK’s great victories in socialist construction was that the people were united with one ideology . Taking pause to reflect on this I pointed out to some people that the recent riots in the UK could not happen in the DPRK because of people being united with one ideology.

President Kim Il Sung elucidates on the superior nature of the socialist system in
the DPRK
"Our people are now enjoying fully independent and creative lives in the embrace of the Republic, as masters of the state and society.
In our country all the people exercise their full rights to indepen­dence through their active participation in the political life of the state. They are adding lustre to their worthwhile lives through their creative struggle to achieve the high aim set by the Party, helping and leading each other forward, closely united on the basis of revo­lutionary constancy and comradeship. All the material and cultural needs, such as food, clothing, and housing, are met by the state, which also provides them with secure jobs according to their abilities. They are leading equally happy lives, receiving the benefits of free education, free medical care and so on from the state and soci­ety."


The above passage I think sums up the advantages of socialism in the DPRK . It is not just a question of material security, though of course , this is very important in itself , but they the people of the DPRK live in a united society and there is comradeship. Moreover they are the masters of society.

A very important and fundamental question is elaborated on in this work , the question of continuous revolution. Comrade Kim Il Sung not only puts this both within the historical context of building socialism in the DPRK but also the question of continuous revolution in the present and the future . I am going to quote a lengthy passage from the work here as I think it is necessary to have the whole passage in order to understand the question
"We thoroughly carried out the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal demo­cratic revolution on the principles of meeting the masses’ desire for democracy and of creating the conditions for transition to the social­ist revolution. Following the democratic revolution, we embarked on the socialist revolution without delay.
The production relations in our country were successfully trans­formed along socialist lines despite the weak material and technical foundations of agriculture and a national economy devastated by war. Our experience shows that when the motive force of the revolu­tion is strong, it is fully possible to effect revolutionary change along socialist lines in production relations even though the material and technical foundations are weak, and that the very work of building up these foundations can be expedited by relying on the superiority of the socialist system that has been established.
How to blaze a trail towards communism after the triumph of the socialist revolution and the establishment of the socialist system was a serious problem that was to decide the outcome of our efforts to build socialism and communism.
The victory of the socialist revolution and the establishment of the socialist system represent a historic change in the masses’ struggle to achieve independence, but the revolution does not end there. Socialist society is a transitional society in which hangovers from the old society exist in many spheres of social life. If we are to over­come the transitional character of socialist society and advance to the higher plane of communism, we must continue the revolution in the ideological, technical and cultural spheres. The ideological, tech­nical and cultural revolutions are difficult and complicated undertakings to do away with the remnants of the old society and take the ideological and material fortresses of communism; these are a revo­lutionary struggle to liquidate capitalism once and for all and pro­vide the masses with full independence."


As is explained the starting point of the revolutionary process in Korea was the revolution to eliminate feudalism, which had prevailed for centuries, and imperialism. This went straight over to the socialist revolution. Some ultra leftists have asserted that the revolution in third world countries must jump over the anti-imperialist , anti feudal stage . On the other hand some other places were slow to progress to the socialist revolution after completing the anti-imperialist, anti feudal revolution and some other countries saw the whole process of long drawn reforms. The Juche concept of uninterrupted , continuous revolution avoided deviations in socialist
construction.
Juche also stipulated that even after the socialist revolution itself was completed as the great
leader comrade Kim Il Sung explains
"Since the establishment of the socialist system our Party and the Government of the Republic have pressed on with the ideological, technical and cultural revolutions and have thus been able to make continuous advance in building socialism and to conduct a success­ful struggle to capture the two fortresses of communism simultane­ously"

I think I do not need to elaborate too much on the above passage as a lot of it is self explanatory and contains importants truths. Socialist society is indeed something that emerges from exploiter society and can sometimes traces of the old society . The key question is how to deal with them. The DPRK has answered this by contuining the revolution . This is what makes the DPRK different from other socialist countries and is one of the main reasons for the durability of Korean style -socialism. The DPRK is not simply just another socialist country or another “hard line socialist country” but has distinctive and revolutionary policies , which are the best ones for building socialism.

Jumping over to the second part of the work but logically progressing from the theme of continuous revolution the whole question of advancing towards the future of socialism and communism in piratical terms is discussed . The question of material and moral incentives is explored as one would expect as this is a key question in socialist construction and also at the time some socialist countries were demanding greater material incentives. The DPRK opposed one sided stress on material incentives from a logical standpoint
“People have political integrity as well as a physical life, so they have political and moral requirements as well as material needs. How these two factors are stimulated affects the degree of enthusi­asm and creativity displayed by the working people in socialist con­struction. Since political integrity is more valuable for a social man than physical life, it is reasonable to put the main stress in the man­agement of a socialist economy on political and moral incentives and combine them properly with material incentives.”


The above passage shows how the Juche idea is practically applied . Although the ultra leftist error of entirely disregarding material incentives at the time they are not made the primary incentive, political and moral incentives come first. This ties in with the concept of putting the ideological revolution ahead of other revolutions. Visiting the DPRK in 2008 and travelling through farming areas why could see loudspeaker vans in the fields and Red flags in the fields.
Experience has proved that undue emphasis on material incentives destroys socialism in the end . Trying to move people by money is a capitalist approach and in capitalist society people work only for money.

I think this is a good point on which to conclude my brief survey of the work Every word in this work is a word of genius and wisdom . Please read this if you have not already done already. I will also personally recommend that you read some of the other works of President Kim Il Sung written around the same time as well the condensed biography . The work“LET US ACCOMPLISH THE CAUSE OF SOCIALISM AND COMMUNISM UNDER THE REVOLUTIONARY BANNER OF JUCHE” is a highly valuable work that deserves to be studied today as it gives answers to questions arising in the building of socialism and time has
proved its validity.

SEPTEMBER 9, 1948 – DPRK FOUNDING DAY

September 9, 1948 lit up the brightest star in North-East Asia, ushering in a new, socialist state, point out to the countries of the third world a practical way of fighting for their independence, for the legitimate right of every people to self-determination of their historical development.

The founding of the DPRK has become a landmark in the history of the Korean nation, the beginning of the implementation of autonomy and independence of the Korean state, created for the benefit of the working man, for the benefit of his real interests and improving the lives of ordinary people. After Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945 under the leadership of the Great Commander Comrade Kim Il Sung, the Great Leader had done a great job in the direction of unification of the Korean nation, divided geographically into two parts, with the Americans occupying south Korea in the final period of World War II and had refused to leave the territory of the Korean Peninsula after its ending. Unfortunately, the question of unification still remains on the agenda due to the criminal, hostile, U.S. hate policy, strongly opposing this union, contrary to the wishes and aspirations of the entire Korean people.


In the newly-born young Socialist Republic, the creation of an independent and self-sufficient economic base began. The country set its sights on the training of its own intelligentsia and scientific and technical personnel. Adopting the plan of development, tasks were set that were always successfully implemented by the heroic people of the DPRK. During the 63 years, the DPRK has become a country of universal literacy of the entire population, where one in four people have higher education, which has created a high potential of science and culture. But cadres, as we know, are everything. It is therefore not surprising that in response to continued threats, blackmail and diverse direct provocation by the U.S., the nation’s scientists and scientific and technical personnel of DPRK have established a reliable defence of peaceful labour of citizens in the form of nuclear weapons and against the threat of preemptive attack on the country from the crazy arbitrariness of the U.S.. And know matter what one says, it is the presence of the nuclear shield that is currently the only guarantee of peace in Northeast Asia and the Korean peninsula in particular.

Advances in the development of the economy, science and the growth of living standards, continually improving health care in the most remote areas from the capital, large-scale housing construction, both in urban and rural areas, speak volumes. Today,the DPRK has a highly advanced industry and agriculture. Socialism in the DPRK is very difficult to build because of the continuing U.S. interference in all affairs of the Korean Peninsula and the venality of changing South Korean puppet governments, their subordination and subservience to America. However, despite these enormous difficulties, the constant stifling economic blockade against the DPRK, the country is not only not weakened, but grown up, matured and continues to move forward confidently, and recognized by virtually all nations of the world (diplomatic relations have been established). The basis of all achievements is the heroic work of the people of the DPRK, the monolithic unity around their Leader and Party. The Armed Forces of the DPRK are the flesh and blood of the people, not only standing on vigilant guard over the gains of socialism, but also taking a very active part in its future construction. The unity of the people around the Leader and the Party has created a monolith, which no one can destroy.

It now 17 years since the death of the Great Leader, and at the helm of the country is a worthy successor of his cause, Comrade Kim Jong Il. He enjoys the great love and confidence of the people.

His re-re-election as Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission of September 3, 2003 indicates his services to the country and the people and his extraordinary abilities as a politician, ideologue, a wise statesman, and gifted military leader. It is no accident that people of the DPRK call him the Great KIM JONG IL.

Now, the people are preparing themselves for new labour successes to celebrate in the upcoming 2012 centenary of the Great Leader.

We congratulate the courageous and hardworking people from the DPRK on the 63rd anniversary of the founding of their Socialist state, and we wish them continuing strong and confident strides on their path to the top of a highly prosperous socialist state.

On the day of the 63 anniversary of the DPRK, congratulating the Korean people on this holiday, we sincerely wish every family happiness and every success in strengthening the might of the socialist state.

Seriously Burnt Child Revived in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 16 (KCNA) -- Medical workers of the Children's Hospital in Kaesong City of the DPRK brought a seven-year-old girl who had been in the jaw of death back to normal life in more than 300 days.

On Nov. 10, 2010, Choe Sol Gyong who lives in Koryo-dong of Kaesong City got unexpected burns and was rushed to the hospital.

She had third or fourth degree burns on the 43 percent of her body and was on the brink of death.

The hospital brought the fainted girl round and removed poisoning from burns in at least 20 days.

Several skin-grafting operations were conducted during the period. Not only officials and employees of the hospital but also officials, youth and students and people's security workers in the city donated their blood and flesh to the girl. Their number reached a total of over 1 700.

After the operations they brought different kinds of restoratives and foods with sincerity.

In ten months the girl has been fully revived.

Leaving the hospital Wednesday, the girl, her mother and all other members of her family sang the song "We Are the Happiest in the World". -0-

The Juche idea as founded by the Great leader Kim Il sung has opened up a new chapter in the book of social sciences.

As comrade Kim Jong Il wrote in his “On the Juche idea”

“The Juche idea established a man-centred outlook on the world by throwing a fresh light on the essential characteristics of man and his position and role in the world.

It had already been known that the world consists of material changes and develops as a result of the motion of material. The Juche idea gives a new world outlook by answering the question of who is the master that dominates nature and society and where is the force that transforms them. That the world is dominated and reshaped by man is a new viewpoint on the world in relation to man”

This idea was forged out of the struggle with the Japanese imperialists and seen in action during socialist development. The Juche idea clearly on this basis deserves its place amongst the theories of social sciences.

Enemies of the Juche idea and the cause of communism shout that the Juche idea contradicts scientific socialism and the theories of Marxism-Leninism. This is a complete false hood and lie peddled by revisionists. Marxism-Leninism is the foundation of the Juche, Marxism-Leninism is the struggle for socialism but the Juche idea is the mature development of it.

In the DPRK the tasks of the Juche orientated revolution are being proven to be correct and consistent with the demands of the Korean workers and Peasants and the Korean people are correctly showing the world how to build a prosperous independent socialist society.

It is quite clear to all real communists that if other progressive countries of the last century had followed a Juche orientated path for their revolutions then the problems that arose with western imperialist spies and revisionists in various workers parties would not have arose.

This very fact makes it more clear to us the followers of Juche communism that the Juche idea as founded by comrade Kim Il Sung is deserving of a whole new category of social sciences.

Hegel told us what the world is made up of and how history develops. Marx taught us the class nature of this history and Lenin taught us how to combat it but Kim Il Sung has taught us mans place in society and the world and through tough empirical experience and being well versed in the classics of Marxism-Leninism and the materialist view point of history brought into the world this radically new explanation of mans role and destiny in it.

Struggle Continues to Win Final Victory

Further intensifying is the south Korean people’s struggle to gain democracy and the rights to existence against the government’s pro-conglomerate anti-people policy.

On August 27, over 30,000 unionists affiliated to the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions held in Yoido, Seoul, a meeting of the two major labor bodies to vow a joint struggle in public sectors and a general strike of the workers in financial domain.

It was the first time that the two biggest trade unions in south Korea held a grand anti-government rally since the emergence of the current regime.

The participants asserted that they would continue the struggle to punish the regime from the upcoming October by-election of the Seoul mayor to the general and presidential elections slated for next year, and warned they would, for the time being, conduct a general strike in October.

The chairman of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions stressed that they would judge through the joint struggle of the two major labor bodies the regime which ascribes all the responsibility of the policy failures to the workers.

On August 27 and 28 there took place a rally of the 4th hope-buses for making a society without layoffs and temporary jobs in Seoul.

The first event of the hope-buses began on June 11 in solidarity with Kim Jin-suk, a Committee member of the Busan area headquarters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions who commenced a sit-in on a 35 meter-high crane at the Yeongdo shipyard of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (August 31 is her 238th day), and the dismissed workers.

On August 27 some 5,000 people from different public circles, civic organizations and opposition parties held at Cheonggye Plaza a performance and seminar demanding the repeal of the layoff and part-time job system.

The participants drummed up their fighting spirit holding placard reading “We want a society without layoffs” and chanting slogans such as “Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction, abandon at once the layoffs and secure the safety of Kim Jin-suk striking on a high-altitude crane”.

On August 28 thousands of participants in the 4th hope-buses campaign got together on Mt. Inwang standing in front of the presidential office and the head office of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction putting up placards reading “Punish Jo Nam-ho, chairman of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction” and “Retract the layoffs”.

They appealed to more closely unite and not to stop the struggle till win the final victory for a new society without layoffs and part-time jobs and the people are the masters.

Appalled by the ever-growing people’s anti-government struggle, the security authorities mobilized some 9,000 policemen from 112 companies to suppress the workers firing water cannons. However, they could not daunt the elated enthusiasm and fighting spirit of the participants desiring for the rights of labor and existence, democracy and pea

Mounted Will and Shout for Reunification

People from different social standings, elated with mounted desire and will to enjoy a true life in a new society of which masters are the people without foreign forces, exploitation and suppression, waged struggles against the “government” and for reunification in Seoul, south Korea, on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.

On August 15 the August 15 all-people rally for independence, peace and reunification in the Korean Peninsula was held under the sponsorship of different civic organizations and opposition parties.

Attending the rally were figures from the opposition parties including the Democratic Labor Party and the New Progressive Party, the Solidarity for Progress and the National Federation of Peasants Associations, and some 10,000 citizens.

The participants staged a demo chanting slogans such as “Repeal the hostile policy toward the north”, “Defend peace”, “Opposition to various military drills, aggressive arms buildup, construction and expansion of new military bases” and “Abolish the unequal south Korea-US alliance” and holding placards reading “Repeal the hostile policy toward the north” and “Implement the June 15 and the October 4 declarations”.

The security authorities, perplexed by the fierce anti-government struggle of the participants, mobilized the fascist police to set up barricades with police vehicles and cruelly suppressed the demo firing water cannons. However, they could not stem the soaring spirits and volition of the demonstrators desiring for independence, peace and reunification.

A “cultural festival for independent reunification” was held in Seoul on August 14 with the attendance of over 15,000 citizens and members of the Solidarity for Progress, the People's Power and other civic organizations and opposition parties including the Democratic Party, the Democratic Labor Party, the New Progressive Party, the Creative Korea Party and the People’s Participation Party.

The participants stressed in a resolution that after the Lee Myung-bak regime took power the inter-Korean relations were destroyed and the people have been suffering from the crisis of existence caused by the decreased real income, price hikes and unemployment. They expressed their resolve to shape a history of independent reunification through defending peace of the Korean Peninsula, liquidating the subordinate south Korea-US alliance and implementing the south-north joint declarations, and punish the Lee regime and win in the scheduled general and presidential elections in 2012 through general unity of all public circles.

On the same day, there took place in Seoul the 2011 youth camp for peace and reunification, the women’s festival for reunification, the August 15 students’ cultural festival for independent reunification, the August 15 paupers’ reunification rally for realizing peace of the Korean Peninsula and gaining the survival rights of the paupers, the August 15 peasants’ resolve-making rally for independent reunification, the August 15 workers’ national rally and the rally of the Democratic Labor Party for independent reunification.

The rallies dynamically demonstrated the firm will for reunification of the south Korean people to overthrow the Lee regime by their united efforts, and thrust the separatist forces at home and abroad into fear and terror.
