KCNA Detailed Report on Completion of Third-stage Project in Hwasong Area

Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- The military-civilian builders in the DPRK have attained the huge goal for the capital city construction, set forth by the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, year after year without fail, while upholding the WPK Central Committee's plan and long-cherished desire with miracles of creation. Through their stubborn and dynamic continuous struggle, they successfully completed the third-stage project in the Hwasong area in a short span of one year and thus provided a decisive guarantee for the completion of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang. In this regard, the Korean Central News Agency issued a detailed report on April 17.

According to the report, another large architectural group was built in the Hwasong area with the appearance of a distinctive urban district different from the first- and second-stage districts and with a peculiar and good combination of skyscrapers, high-rise apartment houses, educational and public health facilities and different kinds of modern neighbourhood-serving networks like commercial, public catering, technical and recreation service facilities. So the Hwasong area has turned into a center and model that can lead the existing areas of the capital city to civilization and enlightenment with political, economic and cultural functions as a full-fledged city administrative district.

Another proud entity that has sprung up in the Hwasong area is a brilliant fruition of the wise leadership of the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, a prominent revolutionary and great master of creation and construction, and precious outcome of the indomitable stamina and extraordinary creation spirit of our people dynamically advancing with the strong will to overcome difficulties and bring changes and development in order to realize the long-cherished desire of the WPK with single mind and loyalty.

Saying that it is the true nature and duty of our Party and government to keep unconditionally the promises made to the people in the face of any hardships, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave meticulous guidance over the preparations for the grand construction of a new stage so that it could be substantially pushed forward with, and energetically led the whole course of the project.

He perfected over 660 designs so that the third-stage area could have a peculiar style different from the preceding stages so as to provide material and cultural wellbeing of higher level to the people.

Looking up to the General Secretary who pressed the blasting button at the groundbreaking ceremony in February 2024 and warmly encouraged the builders to firmly guarantee the construction struggle, launched by our Party as a patriotic undertaking for eternal prosperity, with eye-opening results of transformation, those builders in the Hwasong area hardened their strong will to successfully implement the plan of the Party Central Committee with fresh miracles and innovations.

The construction of 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area was a great creation struggle beyond the existing stages in size and quality as a group of houses and public and service buildings, including educational, public health, commercial and public catering establishments, were to be built at the same time in an area of over 90 hectares and a total floor space of nearly 1.52 million square meters.

As befitting the pioneers ushering in a great golden age of capital city construction, the military-civilian builders kindled the flames of creating miraculous Hwasong speed and myth by displaying the indefatigable spirit.

In a short span of time after the groundbreaking ceremony, more than 1.66 million cubic meters of earth were successfully excavated for the foundation. And the foundation concrete placing was completed in a short period, and the housing framing project was carried out in earnest.

At the third-stage project, more vigorous sci-tech activities were conducted to put the construction work on an industrial and modern basis of higher level.

While inspecting the construction site in April last year, Kim Jong Un stressed that the housing construction is the most important task for providing the people with a beautiful cradle of happiness, so it is necessary to perfectly conclude even the finishing process with the goal of completing it on the highest level to be impeccable even in the distant future.

With a resolve to uphold the Party's far-reaching plan for providing the people with better material and cultural wellbeing with thoroughgoing executive ability, the builders successfully built such colorful commercial, public catering, technical and recreation service facilities with strong symbolic and specific characters as the Hwasong Kumgang Restaurant of overpass style, the Hwasong Vehicle Service Station and the 300-seat video game house.

Preparations for landscaping suited to the modern urban division were made with foresight. So more than 69 400 trees were planted and over 300 000 square meters of lawn created.

Officials and workers across the country made solidarity innovations for the construction of 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area.

Officials and primary information workers of many units, art squads and mobile art squads in different parts of the country visited the construction sites to further stir up the revolutionary enthusiasm of builders out in implementing the Party's decision.

The third-stage housing construction in the Hwasong area was completed at last and the task for the fourth year of the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang successfully carried out, thanks to the boundless loyalty and staunch offensive spirit of the military-civilian builders who have worked fresh miracles and myths, regarding as their highest honour and pride the trust of the Party Central Committee which put them forward in the vanguard of the capital city construction.

The report said that the emergence of another architectural group of 10 000 flats again in Pyongyang is a striking demonstration of the great Party's spirit of continuous revolution and the inexhaustible potential of our powerful country.

  The  British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the  Korean Friendship Association of UK( KFA UK) )today issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the  93rd anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army(KPRA) the forerunner of the modern Korean People's Army on the 25th of April.
   On the 25th of April it will be 93 years since the Korean People's Army was originally founded as a revolutionary guerrilla force, the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army later known as the Korean People's Revolutionary Army. We Juche Idea and Songun idea followers and militant friends of People's Korea salute the anniversary of its foundation. Today the KPA is defending the independence of the DPRK and also peace and security in the Asia-Pacific region.
                               
                                          

   The foundation of the Anti-Japanese Peoples Guerrilla Army, in 1932, by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung, a gifted military strategist and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, constitutes the bedrock of the Songun revolution.
   The Korean People’s Army, under the wise leadership of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, took over and carried forward the traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. It is based solidly on revolutionary comradeship. Moreover, a tradition of army-people unity was created and today flourishes in Juche Korea.                       
                                                 

Under the wise leadership of the great generalissimo Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the KPA grew into steel strong ranks each soldier being a match for a hundred enemy soldiers. The KPA inflicted a crushing defeat on the US imperialists in the great Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953. The KPA also defeated the US in the ‘Pueblo incident’,' The EC121 incident’, ‘The Panmunjom incident’ of 1976 and the 1994 helicopter shootdown incident.
                                                                   
  The KPA became a truly Juche- orientated revolutionary armed force and is the army of the party,the working class and the leader. New theories of warfare have been created.'Moreover, under the leadership of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung,the KPA stuck to class and revolutionary principles, the revisionist and opportunist "non-class" theories were soundly smashed, The leadership of the party over the armed forces was maintained and enhanced, unlike some countries where socialism was frustrated.The KPA is truly an anti-imperialist, anti-revisionist army which defends socialism with the force of arms.
   The might of the KPA was further strengthened under the leadership of supreme commander Kim Jong Il, who practised Songun politics giving priority to the KPA regarding it as the central pillar of the revolution. KPA under the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader the KPA grew stronger in terms of ideology and politics but also materially. It is now equipped with the latest weaponry and has its own independent deterrent force. The KPA under the command of the Songun supreme commander Kim Jong Il and respected general Kim Jong Un smashed the provocations of the south Korean puppets in November 2010 turning Yongphyong island into a sea of flames.
 Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un  has implemented the great revolutionary line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel thereby strengthening the nuclear deterrent force of the KPA
exponentially so that the DPRK became a strategic state.                                                                                                                                   
                                       

The KPA which holds tight the arms of Juche has been ever-victorious over a period of eight decades. The KPA, the vanguard force of the Juche revolution, has defeated the imperialists many times, and under the leadership of supreme commander Kim Jong Un will defeat them again.
                                                                                                
   Today the destiny of world socialism and peace depends on the rifles of the Korean People's Army headed by respected supreme commander Marshal Kim Jong Un. The DPRK is on the frontline of the struggle between socialism and imperialism. It stands guard over the independence of the DPRK and the people-centred socialism, authentic socialism.  Under the command of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, the Korean People's Army has been further strengthened as the mighty and invincible revolutionary armed force of Juche. Report of 2nd Reading Session of “Understanding Korea-Human Rights” 17.04.2025

 The Korean Friendship Association of the UK and British Group held the 2nd reading session of the book “Understanding Korea-Vol 9 -Human Rights “on the 17 of April 2025 at 1900 hours  BST via Skype .

It was participated in by members of KFA UK as well as guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain ), KFA Canada , the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and a guest from France.

Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea read out sections 22 to 32 of the book “Understanding Korea-Vol 9 -Human Rights” which explained the system of provision of socialist human rights in People’s Korea and different laws in the DPRK .

Some questions were posed by the speaker and interesting discussion followed.

It was pointed out by a participant that “Human rights legislation in the DPRK includes protecting and ensuring the rights and interests of all peoples, and to ensure and safeguard the socialist system, so that the people can be the masters of their own destiny.”

The short documentary “The Human Rights Ruined Zone Under the “Statue of Liberty”, which exposed human rights violations in the US , was shown .

 The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK), issued a joint statement in support of the statement of the spokesperson of  the DPRK Ministry of National Defence that was titled "The U.S. reckless bluffing military demonstration is a futile act of increasing the security threat to its mainland only" that was issued on Wednesday 16th of April;

On April 15 , which is a sacred public holiday of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK), the US imperialists carried out a most provocative action of flying a B1B nuclear bomber near to the DPRK . This is unpardonable provocation against the DPRK , especially because it was carried out on the Day of the Sun , the greatest April holiday of the DPRK.

As the spokesperson of the DPRK National Defence Ministry commented;

 "The U.S. fully showed its confrontational attitude and will against the DPRK through its repeated demonstrative military actions

The recent military move of the U.S. and the ROK is an open threat to the security of our state and a grave provocation that raises the military tension in the region to an extreme dangerous level."

The US has openly deployed nuclear strategic assets on the Korean peninsula including nuclear submarines, nuclear bombers and nuclear aircraft carriers. All the time the US is increasing its hostile military actions towards the DPRK.

The DPRK Ministry of National Defence warns the US that if it continues down the path of provocation and military bluffing it will only expose itself to danger.

 The British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK), issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the April Popular Uprising in south Korea.(referred to in south Korea as the "April 19th Revolution").

65 ears on the 19th of April 1960  a mass uprising against the corrupt rule of south Korean puppet fascist dictator Syngham Rhee took place in April 1960.Rhee had lived in the US in the 20s and 30s and had been brought back to south Korea in the 1940s by the Americans as their puppet. His rule was oppressive, corrupt and dictatorial and also turned south Korea into a colony and dependency of the US. Millions were killed by the Syngham Rhee puppet regime.
                                                   

   
The April popular uprising was an explosion of the peoples wrath against Syngham Rhee and against the colonial rule of the US in south Korea .It was an anti-US anti- fascist struggle as well as a struggle for the independent reunification of Korea.   As the great leader President KIM IL SUNG said

"The massive Popular Uprising in April 1960, in which the student youth of south Korea played the central role, overthrew the puppet government of Syngman Rhee, an old minion of US imperialism. This was an initial victory in the south Korean people’s struggle, and it dealt a heavy blow to the colonial rule of US imperialism.
The collapse of the puppet Syngman Rhee government signified, above all, the bankruptcy of all its anti-popular policies and its notorious “march north” outcry.

In their heroic struggle the people of south Korea demonstrated the revolutionary mettle of the Korean people, gained valuable experience id lessons and were greatly awakened politically.
After the April Popular Uprising, the situation in south Korea rapidly developed in favour of the revolution, and the masses became ore courageous to fight against US imperialism and its lackeys, for the dependent, peaceful reunification of the country"
                                           

The April Popular Uprising was a great anti-fascist, anti-imperialist uprising that opened a new chapter in the history of the struggle of the south Korean people for independence, democracy and reunification. It showed that  the peaceful road' to change is but an illusion and that only by a violent uprising can the popular masses liberate themselves and achieve independence
                   The April Popular Uprising was a great inspiration to the peoples of Asia in their liberation struggle and also to national liberation struggles throughout the world.
            

  Our organisations solemnly remember those who died in the struggle and pay a high tribute to their memory. The spirit of the April Popular uprisers is still alive today.
  Today, south Korea needs a 2nd and a 3rd April popular uprising.

KCNA Commentary on Israel's Ambition for Territorial Annexation

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- The Israeli aggressors are now making more undisguised attempts to switch its policy to territorial annexation from territorial expansion.

Israel, which broke the atmosphere of the fragile ceasefire in March and resumed the invasion of Gaza Strip, occupied more than 50 percent of the area.

The Zionists "justified" their occupation with such brigandish sophism that it's for so-called "creation of a new security channel" and claimed that they would "occupy a large area of Gaza and include it in the security zone of Israel."

Especially, they took a step further to say that they will "block any attempt of the Palestinian authorities from hurting Jewish settlements" and that they will "not allow the Palestinian authorities to control the West Bank of the Jordan River", only to reveal their intention to completely occupy a state called Palestine far beyond a region.

It is none other than the Israeli Zionists who have persistently opposed the implementation of the "two-state solution" demanded by the international community, obsessed with the ambition to annex the whole territory of Palestine any time since the emergence of a Jewish state under the patronage and manipulation of the U.S.

The military attack on Gaza Strip and the expansion of Jewish settlements are still going on under the pretext of "destroying Hamas". All these are, in fact, part of the moves for annexing territory, not for "expanding the security zone".

Israel has openly revealed such ambition for territorial seizure and unsheathed the sword of annexation against the whole of the legitimate state of Palestine nowadays. This would be unthinkable without the U.S. direct intervention.

The U.S. said that if the conflict is terminated in Gaza Strip, Israel will hand over the area to it, adding that if it is handed over, the U.S. will reconstruct Gaza Strip and turn it into a seaside resort.

This is little short of an order to Israel to completely occupy Gaza Strip, and of further inciting the ambition of the servant to swallow up the whole territory of Palestine at any cost.

Not content with this, the U.S. staged joint military exercises with Israel by mobilizing B-52, a U.S. strategic bomber, under the signboard of so-called "operational cooperation to cope with different threats from the region", thus encouraging the Israeli warmongers.

For Israel which had cast greedy eyes upon the Palestinian territory from long ago, such encouragement and military support from its master must be a good opportunity for its realization, and after all it has openly entered into the full annexation of the whole territory of Palestine nowadays.

The reality clearly shows that Israel's indiscriminate destruction and bloody killings in Gaza Strip will last until it swallows up the whole Palestinian state.

The reckless military moves of the Israeli aggressors in the Middle East with the backing of the U.S. clearly prove once again who the wrecker of global peace and security is. -0-

Press Statement of Spokesperson for Ministry of National Defence of DPRK

 

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea released the following press statement titled "The U.S. reckless bluffing military demonstration is a futile act of increasing the security threat to its mainland only" on Wednesday:

On April 15, the U.S. and the ROK staged a provocative joint air drill with B-1B strategic bomber involved under the pretext of the enhanced regular visibility of "extended deterrence".

The U.S. fully showed its confrontational attitude and will against the DPRK through its repeated demonstrative military actions.

The recent military move of the U.S. and the ROK is an open threat to the security of our state and a grave provocation that raises the military tension in the region to an extreme dangerous level.

The continuous appearance of B-1B serves as an occasion of highlighting once again the fact that the U.S. and its vassal forces are the only ones that unilaterally escalates the military tension nowadays while inciting the hostile atmosphere of confrontation in the Korean peninsula.

Recently, the U.S. has renewed its record in openly deploying nuclear submarine, strategic bomber, aircraft carrier and other strategic assets to the Korean peninsula.

This fully shows that the deployment of the U.S. strategic means on the Korean peninsula has been fixed as a routine military practice, not as part of emergency measures, and is a constant, not a variable, threatening the regional security environment.

The gravity of the deployment of such strategic assets is not simply limited to the increase in the number of times, but it is the process of increasing the skillfulness in tactics and procedures for attacking the DPRK, and completing preparations for going into real action at any time.

The DPRK Ministry of National Defence strongly warns that the U.S. bluffing military action that poses a serious danger to the sovereignty of our state and the regional situation will inevitably bring serious negative consequences to the security situation of the U.S.

The DPRK will exercise the overwhelming deterrence and continue to make the U.S. recognize that its unannounced deployment of strategic means is a reckless and unnecessary abuse of strength, and get the U.S. realize by itself that the higher the level of provocation against the DPRK is, the greater the level of danger returning to the U.S. will be.

Senior Party and Government Officials Visit Kumsusan Palace of Sun

Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- The DPRK people are significantly celebrating the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the eternal image of socialist Korea, in the sacred journey of realizing the great historic cause of comprehensive national rejuvenation led by the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea.

The third-stage construction in the Hwasong area has given full appearance to the Hwasong area as a centre and model capable of leading the existing areas of the capital city to civilization and efflorescence by providing it with the political, economic and cultural functions befitting a fully-fledged administrative district in conformity with the plan and principle consistently maintained by the Party during the eighth term of the Party Central Committee. Thanks to the great thinking and efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who personally plans the changes in all fields of the economy, culture, national defence and all realms covering the capital and regions and clearly indicates the guidelines for firmly preserving and developing the people-oriented and revolutionary characters of Juche architecture as he cares more than anybody else for the well-being of the people and the prosperity of our socialist system, everything changes and a new era of prosperity and rejuvenation hastening the future is being ushered in on this land. The socialist paradise wonderfully built in the Hwasong area is a historic monument which makes our people keenly feel their blessed life and the rosy future of their country as they are guided by the great leader.

Saying that our Party and government, in the future, too, will continue to push forward with construction work which gives fuller play to the advantages of our style of socialist system and accelerates the transformation and development of the whole country, thus actively and steadily bringing the people deeper and greater satisfaction with a new, cultured and wealthy life, he called for striving more courageously for the future of the capital city of Pyongyang which will thrive and be more cultured year after year and for the eternal prosperity of the country which is the best in the world, according to the roadmap of epoch-making changes in the new era indicated by the Party Central Committee.

Beautifully decorating the Hwasong area, fireworks were set off and balloons flew at the venue of the inauguration ceremony, which witnessed another historic scene to be etched in the history of struggle of the great WPK continuously and vigorously making a sacred journey for the promotion of well-being of the beloved people by erecting monumental edifices symbolic of the era of great change one after another.

Songs in praise of the times filled with strong stamina and ardent desire of all the Korean people to devote their all to the building of an ideal society where socialist civilization is in full bloom, exalting the dignity and mightiness of their state with their steadfast pioneering spirit and patriotic will, resounded throughout the venue of the ceremony filling the participants with deep emotion and joy.

The songs praising the great Kim Jong Un's era, in which the capital city of the revolution, a heroic city that newly emerged on the debris of the war and glorified the annals of creation and miracles with the eye-opening Pyongyang speed, has reached a new stage of civilization and efflorescence while undergoing more majestic and splendid changes beyond recognition every year, added to the joy of the inauguration.

The national anthem of the great DPRK, our socialist country where the people's dreams and ideals are being translated into reality and which upholds the greatest man as its leader and father, was solemnly played and fireworks were set off decorating the nocturnal sky over Pyongyang, the city of boundless happiness and glory.

The venue of the ceremony was filled with excitement as cheers of "Hurrah!" burst out for Kim Jong Un again.

Kim Jong Un met the working people and the elderly who would move into new flats.

Families of a teacher and a worker presented bouquets of flowers to him, who put forward the ordinary working people as masters of the wonderful, ideal socialist street, in reflection of the unanimous feeling of gratitude of the citizens of the capital city and other people across the country.

Kim Jong Un said that he was sorry to provide the modern apartment houses only now and that he was firmly determined to take upon himself more tasks for the people while seeing the citizens full of emotion and joy today. And he wished them happy life in good health in the new houses.

He met and encouraged military and civilian labour innovators who are making a great contribution to the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang, true to the Party's policy on the capital city construction.

He said with affection and trust that thanks to the patriotic and elite ranks of builders like them who carry out the Party's plan unconditionally, the gun report of victory in the implementation of the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the WPK will resound first in the Hwasong area and a new era of prosperity of Pyongyang will continue steadily.

Warmly waving his hand for a long time to the citizens of the capital city expressing boundless gratitude in tears of emotion, he wished all blessings to all families that would settle in the new splendid street.

All the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers with their firm pledge to invariably go along the road of loyalty and patriotism for the great Comrade Kim Jong Un, for the eternal prosperity of their great state and for the rosy future of its great capital city.

The completion of the 10 000 flats at the third stage in the Hwasong area is a great demonstration of the true picture unique to our prosperous and powerful state, which has been created by the outstanding leadership of the great Party Central Committee guiding socialist Korea to the peak of prosperity and the patriotic strength of its people closely rallied around the Party with a single mind, and a great encouraging event that has further enlivened the spirit of all-people advance towards the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK and the Ninth Party Congress with redoubled fighting spirit and confidence. -0-
