Statement of Spokesman for DPRK Foreign Ministry

Pyongyang, October 31 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued the following statement on Oct. 31:

The situation in the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity has entered the serious confrontation phase of power for power again due to the ceaseless and reckless military moves of the U.S. and south Korea.

The large-scale field mobile exercise, Hoguk, was staged across south Korea from Oct. 17 to 28, and a few days later, the largest-ever U.S.-south Korea joint air drill, Vigilant Storm, was started.

This drill involving more than hundreds of fighters of different missions such as F-35Bs based in Japan is a war drill for aggression mainly aimed at striking the strategic targets of the DPRK in case of contingency in the Korean Peninsula.

Owing to the large-scale war exercises staged by the U.S. and its vassal forces almost every day this year, the Korean Peninsula remains the hotspot with the most serious military tensions in the world and the security circumstances in the region have become grimmer.

The joint military exercises of the U.S. and its vassal forces have the more clear aggressive nature than any other ones everywhere else of the world in terms of the period, scale, contents and density.

The U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises, staged in April on a full scale through the "combined command exercises", were turned into a large-scale field mobile drill "Ulji Freedom Shield" in August and then into large-scale joint naval exercises and the largest-ever joint air drill involving a nuclear carrier task force in September and October. All the facts clearly show that the U.S. nuclear war scenario against the DPRK has entered the final stage.

For the U.S. to describe the DPRK's self-defensive military counteraction as an act of escalating the tensions is very absurd and this is just like a guilty party filing the suit first. It is because the U.S. is staging such war exercises for aggression as the large-scale landing drill and "decapitation" of the leadership aimed at occupying the territory and depth of the opposite party.

The DPRK reminds once again of the fact that the recent military drills by units of the Korean People's Army were carried out under the unstable security circumstances created by the U.S. and south Korea.

The U.S. is trying to shift the responsibility for the escalated tensions onto the DPRK after making it take a countermeasure by getting on its nerves militarily under the signboard of "annual" and "defensive" exercises. But such scheme can no longer work to conceal its true colors as the chief culprit in destroying peace and security.

The U.S., the one and only country in the world which sets it as a main target of nuclear strategy to "topple the government" of a sovereign state, must be prepared for paying an equal price for its attempt to use military force against the DPRK.

The DPRK is ready to take all necessary measures for defending its sovereignty, people's security and territorial integrity from outside military threats. If the U.S. continuously persists in the grave military provocations, the DPRK will take into account more powerful follow-up measures.

If the U.S. does not want any serious developments not suited to its security interests, it should stop the useless and ineffective war exercises at once. If not, it will have to totally take the blame for all the consequences. -0-

We are here today outside the BBC to protest against the BBC’s constant lies about People’s Korea and the BBC’s persistent demonisation and vilification of People’s Korea . We are here taking a stand in support  of People’s Korea , the most independent country in the world . This fact was even acknowledged by one former British prime minister . 

The BBC, which is known to progressive people as the British Brainwashing Corporation , has consistently lied about the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK). Its coverage of the DPRK is one sided and exaggerated to say the least. On several occasions BBC reporters have used tricks and subterfuges to enter the DPRK .

Recently there was an incident in the West Sea of Korea in which a south Korean puppet warship intruded  into the territorial waters of the DPRK  basically invading the DPRK and violating its sovereignty  but the BBC falsely reported that the DPRK had infiltrated south Korean waters and fired at south Korea.

The BBC lies about Ukraine , lies about Hong Kong and definitely lies about People’s Korea .

The BBC has taken upon itself the role of a shock brigade in the propaganda war against People’s Korea.The BBC is a state broadcaster closely linked to British imperialism and US imperialism .It’s staff are vetted ,so that no one with pro DPRK , pro socialist views can work for the BBC or indeed anyone to the Left of Genghis Khan , in the BBC it is very much ‘No lefties here John ‘ . The BBC promotes the ideology of market totalitarianism and liberal fascism .

What is disgusting is that not only does the BBC lie about People’s Korea  but it expects us to pay for its lies in the form of the BBC licence fee .

It would take too long to list all the lies told by the BBC about the DPRK but here are some examples: On the 10th of February 2016 the BBC reported that former Chief of General Staff of the Korean People’s Army General Ri Yong Gil had been executed . This has been proved false. General Ri was elected to a position at the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea held in May 2016 and was promoted in April 2017 (by order of Marshal Kim Jong Un)  and a month ago was appointed vice Marshal of the Korean People’s Army , far from being dead ! 

In May 2016 BBC reporter Rupert Wingfield-Hayes signed a statement admitting that his reporting was biassed and inaccurate. Amongst other things Wingfield-Hayes claimed that children at the Okryu Children's Hospital were not ill and were actors!!!

The BBC consistently demonizes and smears the DPRK by using clichés like “impoverished”, “totalitarian “ and “ isolated “ . Rather than being impoverished the DPRK has a rapidly growing economy, it is a people-oriented society and rather than being isolated has diplomatic relations with over a 100 countries ! 

  In fact People’s Korea is a country that abolished taxation in 1974 and yet has free education , free health care  and virtually free housing . People’s Korea is a society free from knife crime .

The BBC not only attacks People’s Korea but it was partly responsible for sponsoring  a criminal film slandering the Korean Friendship Association which involved the underhand and dishonest infiltration of the Korean Friendship Association and covert and illegal surveillance of KFA members which could have set up for victimisation at work and even physical attack from fascist anti-DPRK elements . The fact is that the BBC was a party to the illegal and dishonest infiltration of KFA  , basically a crime for which they have never apologised or paid compensation to KFA .

The BBC not only pumps out false propaganda against the DPRK but it is also a regime change agency . We should never forget the role of the BBC World Service in  the past in undermining and destroying socialism in the USSR and former socialist countries . Now the BBC is trying to do the same with the DPRK and beaming its lies into the country . We must defend People’s Korea from regime change, from all attempts to force ‘reform ‘ or ‘opening up ‘ on People’s Korea .

REPORT OF KFA UK PICKET OF THE BBC 29.10.2022

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) picketed the headquarters of the British Broadcasting Corporation  aka the British Brainwashing Corporation  on the 29th of October from 1510 hours to 1630 hours . Attending the picket were members of KFA UK as well as the New Communist Party, including its general secretary Andy Brooks and  a Politburo member of the NCP, and the Labour Party .

A message of support was received from KFA Switzerland which read in part “BBC is following Nazi boss Goebbels' remark that a "lie repeated thousand of times is accepted as the truth".

But we as friends and defenders of socialist Korea cannot be brainwashed! We know the DPRK through knowledge of its policy and history, innumerable visits and our friendship with the Korean people.

The Korean people proudly celebrate its people-centered Juche-based socialist system and never dream of capitalism. Nobody on earth can cheat and deceive the Korean people and us.

Like a proverb says, lies have short legs.

Dear comrades, we wish your picket against the BBC a full success. Truth will win and triumph!”

An A-1 servant

An A-1 servant   Not few betrayers of the country steeped in sycophancy have been recorded in south Korean political history stained with toadyism and quislingism. It is not too much to say that the present south Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol is a traitor of the century incomparable with successive south Korean rulers. Indeed proof of his sycophantic proclivity is the fact that the Yoon clique follows in footsteps of the US for realizing "alliance strategy" lately. Now the Yoon clique takes up a positive attitude in the US moves for building up the tripartite military alliance by dragging Japan into the south Korea and US nexus. Out of this, after the joint anti-submarine exercise of south Korea, the US and Japan with the Japanese marine "Self-Defense Force" was conducted in late September, the joint missile defense drill was carried out. Recently the Yoon clique flatters the Japanese reactionaries whenever possible. It is to be in close teamwork with the US for building up tripartite military nexus. Yoon Suk-yeol not only applies himself to the US-led anti-China alliance for putting pressure upon China in the fields of economy and military, but sides with the US for strengthening anti-Russia nexus in a bid to universally isolate Russia. He flied to Europe to take part in the NATO summit to please the US. Moreover, he pushes forward with additional deployment of the THAAD sticking to participation in Quad. It is well known to the world that he did it from foolish motive to escape grave political crisis inside and outside by following in the footsteps of the US without condition. His reckless conducts will bring catastrophic disaster to south Korea. Nevertheless, he is still willing to come under the control of the US and Japan in submission to foreign forces. Yoon Suk-yeol is not only a dirty traitor flattering the US and Japan in a bid to remain in power, but also a lackey far superior in pro-US and pro-Japanese proclivities to all the successive south Korean rulers. He is by far the best of all.

Warmonger in his dotage

There is a saying that gourd leaks indoors leaks outdoors. Recently, the Minister of Unification of south Korea engages himself in odious confrontation even abroad, not satisfied with showdown with north Korea at home. He can be compared to the gourd in the proverb. As reported, Unification Minister Gwon Yong-se called international attention to nonsensical "bold initiative" of Yoon Suk-yeol going about begging for support and cooperation during his junket to Germany the other day. The press and experts at home and abroad are unanimous in commenting that "bold initiative" is no less a pipedream than "policy toward north Korea" established by successive ruling forces of south Korea. "Bold initiative" is a half-baked policy toward north Korea, as it is none other than a duplicate of "denuclearization, opening and 3000 US$" advertised by traitor Lee Myung-bak, even the conservatives bitterly criticize. It would be the height of stupidity to face up to north Korea with such trash as this which had been thrown into the garbage ground of history. Gwon Yong-se is going about begging for support for "bold initiative" the keynote of which is so-called "nuclear program abandonment first, economic aid later" abroad despite north Korea's promulgation of the law on the policy of the nuclear forces. He is utterly out of his mind. Moreover, what should not be overlooked is that he openly unleashed his ambitious design of "unification through absorption" trumpeting about "precious experience and lesson, and German-style unification through absorption". With no right of decision, traitors yet henchmen of the US bringing dark clouds of nuclear war to the Korean Peninsula, impudently picks on sacred north Korea in high prestige spinning out such nonsense as "system unification" and "unification through absorption". It is a ridiculous act. Such heinous war maniac Gwon Yong-se stands on his dignity because he is the Minister of Unification hyping up the rubbish "bold initiative" with the timeworn "unification through absorption", while swimming against the tide. He is a scoff of the world now. It is quite natural that the south Korean people cries out against him for being identical to warmonger Yoon Suk-yeol.

Fiery action against foreign forces, war and Yoon   Numerous political parties in south Korea are waging a vigorous struggle against foreign forces, war and Yoon Suk-yeol in solidarity with the people of different strata. The Party for Progress livened up the anti-US struggle with all strata of civic organizations after calling for demonstration against the entry of the US nuclear-power aircraft carrier "Ronald Reagan" into Busan Port. The representatives of the Green Party and the Justice Party held a "joint press conference" with civil organizations of various circles against the entry of the task force of the US nuclear-power aircraft carrier into Busan Port to stage various kinds of campaign against the US and war.   Especially, the several political parties which formed joint organization with the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions proclaimed formation of joint conference of the KCTU and progressive party in September. It turns out in the struggle to block retrogressive revision of the labor law being pushed forward by the Yoon's group. It launches demonstration in demand of amendment of trade unions and labor standard action solidarity with the broad segments of south Koreans.   The opposition parties launch an obstinate action in condemnation of policy failure and irregularities and corruption of the Yoon group and the ruling People's Power Party and war maneuvers in combination with civil organizations of all strata. There is growing tendency of anti-US, war and "government", mass media of south Korea reported. Meanwhile, the voices denouncing frequent joint anti-submarine games with the US and Japan in the open sea around Korean East Sea by the Yoon group are ever increasing. Japan, which has accumulated and developed anti-submarine capabilities from the Cold War era is of a big help, saying that it aims at strengthening counteraction, the Yoon group reveals its sinister attempts to settle the issue of normalization of "general security of military intelligence agreement with Japan" through the military game as the military exercise is based on information sharing for submarine detection. The opposition parties including the Democratic Party and civic organizations of different strata condemned that joint antisubmarine exercise is tantamount to participation of Japanese Self-Defense Force on the Korean Peninsula in contingency case. Yoon's pro-Japanese sycophancy made it possible for Japan to provide a springboard for invading the territorial seas and territory of Korean Peninsula. Yoon allowed Japanese flagged-warships of Self-Defense Force into the territorial waters off Dok Islet. It proves that he is a guy steeped in pro-Japanese proclivity to the marrow of his bones. Yoon must stop his attempt to improve ties with Japan and set up the US-Japan-south Korea tripartite military alliance, it denounced.   The south Korea, US, Japan joint anti-submarine exercise is the one allowing the Japanese invasion of the Korean Peninsula, the south Korean people of every degree claim that they should inflict stern punishment on the Yoon group persisting in pro-US and pro-Japanese act, the south Korean mass media reported.

Reflections on the Cuban Missile Crisis -the DPRK and USSR Contrasted 

                                            

One anniversary not talked about  very much is the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis or Caribbean Crisis . It was on the 22nd of October that the US imperialists announced that their spy satellites had detected long -range missiles being transported into the Republic of Cuba by the Soviet Union. The US imperialist chieftain Kennedy blustered and threatened the Soviet Union and Cuba. A naval blockade was imposed on Cuba and it was threatened with invasion and the USSR was threatened with a nuclear strike .

                                    

  The USSR under the leadership of the revisionist Khruschov ( a leader whose treachery was only outdone by Gorbachov ) caved into the US in the space of 6 days .the 28th of October 1962 only 6 days Khruschov announced "the Soviet government, in addition to previously issued instructions on the cessation of further work at the building sites for the weapons, has issued a new order on the dismantling of the weapons which you describe as 'offensive' and their crating and return to the Soviet Union."

 

  As comrade KIM JONG IL said  at the time “The modern revisionists yielded to the US imperialists ,promising that they would withdraw their missile bases as well as all weapons they had deployed in Cuba "

   This was done without consulting the Cuban leadership of comrade Fidel Castro or involving the Cubans in the negotiations. It was an example of a sordid deal between big powers at the expense of a small country .

  It should be added here that People’s Korea under the leadership of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG gave support to Cuba by sending food and tractors as well as a group of authoritative technicians. A KPA General had been sent as DPRK Ambassador to Cuba.DPRK students studying in Cuba and DPRK diplomats armed themselves ready to fight by the side of the Cuban people. The DPRK also publicly supported the 5 -point demands of Premier Fidel Castro which included the US withdrawal from Guantanamo. This was in stark contrast to the USSR which stabbed the Cuban people in the back .

 It was an act of abject surrender to US imperialism , an act of capitulation . The USSR was completely humiliated  , it lost face . Its ships were searched by the US. It showed weakness in the face of the enemy . The message sent to the imperialists was that the socialist countries could be pushed and bullied by imperialism . It established a precedent for the imperialists to interfere in socialist countries and limit their weaponry or decide where it could be deployed .

Contrast this capitulationist line of the USSR  to People's Korea guided by Juche . The DPRK tested its first nuclear weapon on the 9th of  October 2006 16 years ago  . Since then there have been countless sanctions by the UN and US as well as military pressure but the DPRK has not yielded .

When the first DPRK-US summit was held on the 12th of June 2018 some predicted that the DPRK would disarm unilaterally ( and not only disarm but open a McDonald's in Pyongyang and join the IMF ) . However 3  years later not a single  DPRK ICBM or nuke has been dismantled .This year the DPRK has tested many missiles including the Hwasong Pho 17 ICBM .

Of course the debacle of the Cuban Missile crisis reinforced  the lesson that a small country cannot rely on a big country for its defence . As comrade KIM JONG IL rightly pointed out “they provoked the Cuban missile crisis against the Republic of Cuba which put a severe strain on the situation.

The crisis teaches us the serious lesson that the socialist countries should not reveal any weakness in the face of the US imperialist aggressors but stoutly resist them . The weaker the former appears before the US imperialists , the more outrageous and insolent the latter becomes .

The crisis also shows that the socialist countries should not rely on the strength of another country in defending themselves . One should defend one's country on one's own strength , foreigners cannot defend it in one's own place . The recent developments indicate that is is a daydream to think that a big country with the latest weapons will ensure the security of brother countries"

How could People's Korea, a country much smaller in size than the old USSR manage to resist pressure from US and world imperialism when the USSR could not ? Well the secret is a simple one , it is called the Juche idea  ! It is the Juche idea that makes the DPRK strong and able to resist pressure from imperialism . Juche and anti-imperialist independence are embodied in People's Korea !.

SPA Standing Committee of DPRK Issues Decree on Setting Tree-planting Day

Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- The Standing Committee of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) on Tuesday issued a decree on instituting the Tree-planting Day of the DPRK.

According to the decree, March 14, Juche 41 (1952) was a historic day when President Kim Il Sung gave an instruction to restore through a mass movement the forests destroyed by the U.S. imperialists' brutal bombing.

With this significant day as an occasion, the first torch of forest restoration was kindled in the country and a new history of golden and treasure mountains in the era of the Workers' Party was opened.

The SPA Standing Committee decided as follows to glorify forever the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung who kindled the first torch of forest restoration:

1. March 14, the historic day when President Kim Il Sung kindled the first torch of forest restoration, is set as Tree-planting Day of the DPRK.

2. Decree No. 7872 of the Central People's Committee [June 3, Juche 87 (1998)] "On Setting the Tree-planting Day of the DPRK" will be abolished.

3. The Cabinet and relevant organs of the DPRK will take practical measures to implement this decree. -0-

Fiasco of hostile policy

Opinions on recognition of failure of "denuclearization of north Korea" are heard within south Korea and the US in the wake of promulgation of law on north Korea's policy on nuclear forces and successive tough military counteraction of north Korea. North Korea's nuclear threat is actualized, the principle of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is little short of the destruction, north Korea became a nuclear power capable of weakening defense system of the US, north Korea defined its position that it has no intention to abandon nukes and realize denuclearization, it is unfeasible to subjugate north Korea with sanctions and pressure, on the contrary, it would make north Korea more risky rival and it is better to recognize north Korea as a nuclear weapons state and devise a proper step to cope with potential threat, the ruling People's Power Party, experts on north Korean affairs and experts in the military and foreign affairs claimed.     Experts of the US institutes and think tanks including the Carnegie Foundations for International Peace said that it is heartrending to recognize failure of "denuclearization of north Korea", insistence on the "denuclearization of north Korea" is a daydream and farce, north Korea won in the battle of denuclearization, it is unhappy but to accept the fact of north Korea's access to nuclear weapons, the nuclear arsenal of north Korea will be larger and sophisticated unless the US administration admits it and the US will dearly pay for it at the DPRK-US negotiation.     Military pressure such as frequent joint military exercises by the US and its allies, sanctions and hardline remarks show control and means toward north Korea dried up, they should admit failure of "north Korea's denuclearization" and focus all the efforts on arms reduction for removal of the danger and restriction of nuclear weapons, the experts asserted.

 

Self-destructive act

Self-destructive act   Of late, the US and south Korean military have brought radar equipment in the Seongju military base under the pretext of improving interoperability between the THAAD and the Patriot. The US military blustered that it had been furthermore prepared to cope with highly advanced nuclear and missile threats of north Korea. Now the US designs to fortify the US missile defense system and to build up the south Korea, the US and Japan missile defense setup through the THAAD radar deployed in south Korea. THAAD improvement and normal operation result in violation of daily life and human rights of the inhabitants as well as intensification of arms race in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia. That's why broad strata of the south Korean people including residents in Seongju County are launching an action against additional deployment and normal operation of the THAAD day by day. However, the Yoon clique blindly following the US openly pushes forward with the additional deployment and normal operation of the THAAD in defiance of the people's protest. This is nothing but a dangerous criminal act turning south Korea into the military base for realizing Asia-Pacific strategy of the US and driving the situation in and around the Korean Peninsula to the worst phase. Yoon Suk-yeol who is scared off by the tremendous military muscle of north Korea, makes all sorts of efforts to face up to north Korea in tandem with the US. It is ludicrous. The additional deployment and normal operation would only cause terrible calamity in south Korea. The residents in Seongju area have suffered immense damage from the THAAD deployment. Yoon Suk-yeol makes every desperate effort to ignite war against north Korea by hook or by crook in pursuant to the US, but it is clear suicidal act.

KCNA Commentary Censures Japan's Risky Move

Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries persist in visiting the Yasukuni Shrine despite the opposition and denunciation from the international community.

Prime Minister Kishida and the minister of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan recently presented a tree called Sakaki as an offering to the shrine on the occasion of the autumn ancestral rite day. The minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and some 90 members of a bipartisan dietmen's league dubbed the "Meeting of Dietmen for Visiting Yasukuni Shrine" thronged to the shrine.

The shrine is where remains of top-class war criminals, who got hell-bent on the wars for overseas aggression and organized those wars and heinous crimes against humanity and ordered their execution, are interred. That's why any visit to the shrine is an act of making the Japanese society reactionary.

The Japanese reactionaries have misled the public by asserting that the visits to the shrine are made "in the hope of Japan and the world becoming peaceful". This time too, they remarked that "the visit has deep meaning that there should be no igniting another war."

How absurd and shameless the utterances are.

It is well known to the world that Japan dreams of reinvasion, not peace, and scrambles to realize its old ambition for the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" without fail.

Even at this moment, Japan's past wars of aggression are openly feted as "just wars" and war maniacs as "heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country" in the fields of education.

Amid the ever-more intensified moves to retrogressively revise the constitution to terminate the principle of "exclusive defense" and turn Japan into a war-capable state, the prime minister, at a full-dress session of the House of Representatives days ago, vowed to revise the constitution at any cost during his term as president of the Liberal Democratic Party.

Every year Japan's military spending hit an all-time high and the "Self-Defense Forces" are turning into ones capable of fighting a war in all areas including the sky, land, sea and space at any moment.

Not content with this, Japan is desperately working to justify the arms buildup for reinvasion by setting up a new "state security strategy", "defense guidelines" and a "midterm defense capability improvement outline" within this year.

As seen above, Japanese militarism, which has long revived under the patronage of the U.S. imperialists, is now running amuck to turn Japan into a military giant and realize its ambition for reinvasion.

It is none other than the Yasukuni Shrine that encourages Japan to become a war-capable state and gives mental strength to it.

Presenting offerings to the shrine and paying visits to it are a dangerous act of denying and embellishing the past bloody history of aggression and stoking up the hysteria for reinvasion.

The reckless moves of the Japanese reactionaries seriously threatening the regional and global peace and security will certainly meet a fiasco, mercilessly punished by the DPRK and other Asian countries and the international community. -0-

The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK )  ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement in support of the statement of the General Staff of the Korean People 's Army(KPA)   issued on the 24th of October ;

  The south Korean fascist puppets  committed a very serious provocation in the already tense area of the West Sea of Korea , a region where many armed clashes have occurred in the past  . According to the statement of the General Staff of the KPA '  An escort ship of the 2nd Fleet of the puppet south Korean navy invaded the Military Demarcation Line under the control of the Korean People's Army on the sea 2.5 to 5 km in the waters 20 km northwest of Paekryong Island at around 3:50 on Monday to open "warning fire" on the excuse of controlling an unidentified ship". This is an intolerable provocation  against People's Korea as well as an infringement of the terrritory of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) .

  The DPRK quite rightly responded to this invasion of its territory by firing 10 shells from multiple rocket launchers . This was a just and decisive counter-measure to defend the territorial intregrity of the DPRK and to defend peace  !.

The south Korean fascist puppet warmongers , who are no doubt egged on by the Sleepy Joe gang of US imperialism , are creating a very dangerous situation in the West Sea and other frontline areas  . They must desist from further provocations 

We support the just defensive actions of the Korean People's Army  . We fully stand by People's Korea which is under fire from the south Korean puppets and US imperialism .

Skyscraping Apartment Houses for Working People

These are the 53-storey apartment house in Mirae Scientists Street, 70-storey one in Ryomyong Street and 80-storey one in Songhwa Street, all in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. They were provided to blue-collar and white-collar workers and other ordinary citizens.

First Saplings Farm in the DPRK

This is Tree Nursery No. 122, which was built into a model and an example of tree nursery and a saplings farm, the first of its kind in the country.

Covering a total area of 200 hectares, the nursery has saplings production on a scientific, industrial and intensive footing. It produces more than 20 millions of saplings every year and sends them to the places of forest restoration in different part of the country.

Spokesman for KPA General Staff Issues Statement

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued the following statement on Oct. 24:

An escort ship of the 2nd Fleet of the puppet south Korean navy invaded the Military Demarcation Line under the control of the Korean People's Army on the sea 2.5 to 5 km in the waters 20 km northwest of Paekryong Island at around 3:50 on Monday to open "warning fire" on the excuse of controlling an unidentified ship.

The KPA General Staff ordered the coastal defence units on the western front to keep strict monitoring and counteraction readiness and made sure they took an initial countermeasure to powerfully expel the enemy warship by firing 10 shells of multiple rocket launchers toward the territorial waters, where naval enemy movement was detected, at 5:15.

The KPA opened 10 threatening and warning fires in the direction of 270 degrees of firing azimuth from the area of Ryongyon County at 5:15 on October 24.

The KPA General Staff once again sends a grave warning to the enemies who made even naval intrusion in the wake of such provocations as the recent artillery firing and loudspeaker broadcasting on the ground front. -0-

General Secretary of WPK Kim Jong Un Congratulates General Secretary of CPC Xi Jinping

Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), sent a congratulatory message to Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on Sunday.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Reply Message to Lao President

Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a reply message to Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on October 20.

Recently respected Marshal KIM JONG UN visited the  Central Cadres Training School of the Workers Party of Korea on the anniversary of the formation of the Down With Imperialism Union ,the origin of Korean  revolution and historical root of of the Workers Party of Korea . He made a speech of great importance titled "On the Orientation of the Building of Our Party in the New Era and the Tasks of the Central Cadres Training School of the Workers' Party of Korea"  which constitutes a great programme for building the Workers Party of Korea (WPK) in the 21st century and leading the Juche revolution to final victory .

 In his speech Marshal KIM JONG UN pointed that in the past 10 years great achievements have been made in the work of building up the WPK. During the past 10 year period the 4th Conference of the WPK was held and also the 7th and 8th Congresses of the WPK . These events were in themselves great achievements . 

  Marshal KIM JONG UN summed up the success in Party building over the past 10 years as follows :

"The successes achieved by our Party in its building and work over the past decade are three major ones: firstly, it has firmly defended and inherited the monolithic ideology and leadership; secondly, it has remarkably enhanced its leadership function and role; and thirdly, it has further strengthened its revolutionary character of serving the people." . 

This is a succint and lucid summation of the great achievements of Party building made in the past period .

Marshal KIM JONG UN excellently explains the need for total unity of ideology and organisation by pointing out that "Just as a human organism, if dominated by two brains, not a single brain, cannot perform normal activities, a party cannot play its function as an organization and will be divided if it is not guided by a single brain, a single centre" . This indeed very true and serves as a very important  teaching for the work of Party building not just in Korea but the whole world .

Looking towards the future respected Marshal KIM JONG UN set down a number  of tasks for building the Workers Party of Korea in the future . These tasks included strengthening the monolithic leadership of the Party and raising the consciousness of party memmbers . Party organisation should be futher strengthened.

 In line with the requirements of the great Juche Idea , emphais on Party ideological work is stressed . In particular respected Marshal KIM JONG UN stressed that there should be a struggle against  " anti-socialist and non-socialist practices and the uncompromising struggle against all sorts of opportunistic and counterrevolutionary ideological tendencies in the party's ideological construction". We applaud this . It is very important for ruling parties in socialist countries to intensify the struggle against anti-socialist and non socialist practices . In the past some socialist countries collapsed due to opportunist and counter-revolutionary ideologies that became prevalent . Marshal KIM JONG UN is absolutely correct to draw attention to the danger of opportunist and revisionist counter-revolutionary ideology . We feel a lot of confidence reading this . 

Overall this work is a great work that indicates the way forward for the great Workers Party of Korea and the DPRK . Indeed it is a programmatic document that should be studied by all communist and workers parties  !

Ever increasing public outcry against Yoon

Ever increasing public outcry against Yoon   Recently, it is to be noted that Yoon Suk-yeol should step down from power in south Korea.   This is the picture showing grand candlelight march in demand of "resignation of Yoon and special inspection of Kim Keon-hee" held in Seoul on Oct. 8. The participants demanded Yoon step down from power shouting slogans "Inspect Kim Keon-hee who fabricated stocks" and "condemn Yoon who deceives south Korean people". A south Korean mass media reported that the candlelight rallies were held in demand of Yoon's resignation in Gwangju, Gunsan, Chuncheon and Gongju.   This is the picture showing the rally sponsored by the Headquarters of South Gyeongsang Province against Yoon who has destroyed people's livelihood, democracy and peace. The south Koreans' disappointment and anger has reached to the extreme though it has been barely five months since the Yoon regime came into power, they have demanded the resignation and punishment of Yoon and people gave up all hope on the Yoon regime, there has never been such a regime as Yoon's in history, the regime cheating and disregarding the people must be changed, it expressed in a statement. The public sentiment has already made a death penalty on Yoon. The anti-Yoon struggle being waged every nook and corner of south Korea is the representation of strong condemnation of the Yoon regime which is engaged in pro-US sycophancy, dependence on outsiders and misgovernment.
