The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP issued a joint statement in support of the press statement issued by a Spokesperson for the National Coordination Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea that was issued on the 29th of August ;
Recently on the 26th of August the US Department of Homeland Security US treasury department as well as the FBI and US Cyber Command tried to falsely link a hacking group with People's Korea . Moreover on the 27th of August the US Department of Justice even went so far as to issue a forfeiture notice . This is the height of insolence and folly .
This follows on from the US constantly circulating rumours and fabricated stories linking the DPRK to cyber crime . As the statement of the spokesperson of the DPRK National Coordination Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, states ' It is the consistent position of the government of the DPRK to oppose every form and shape of criminal acts in cyberspace, and the integrated and consolidated legal and institutional mechanisms are put in place in our country in order to prevent and eradicate cyber-crime of all forms and manifestations.'
It is simply absurd for the US to link the DPRK to cyber crime and make false accusations against it . The DPRK is a socialist country , it has no basis for crime and has no criminal gangs . Whereas the US is full of crime syndicates and criminal gangs . The USA has one of the highest crime rates in the world , a crime is committed virtually every minute in the USA .
The DPRK correctly warns the US that it will face consequences if it continues with its absurd propaganda .
Our organisations reject the false propaganda against People's Korea and urge true supporters of People's Korea to do more to expose the lying propaganda of the imperialists.

The anti-DPRK plot by the United States is now extending even to the cyber area.
On August 26, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Treasury, Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Cyber Command argued that a hacking group called “BeagleBoyz” is linked with our country and announced what they call a joint technical alert, thus having incited pressure against the DPRK.
And on August 27, the U.S. Department of Justice made a forfeiture complaint by forcibly linking cyber-crime to the DPRK without any evidence, and again on August 28, the U.S. State Department came forward to make a statement of welcoming the joint technical alert.
Further serious is that the U.S. is circulating preposterous rumors that these “criminal acts” were committed under the assistance of the DPRK.
It is the consistent position of the government of the DPRK to oppose every form and shape of criminal acts in cyberspace, and the integrated and consolidated legal and institutional mechanisms are put in place in our country in order to prevent and eradicate cyber-crime of all forms and manifestations.
Nevertheless, the U.S. is making “cyber threat” of the DPRK a fait accompli and making much ado, calling for joint response and so on. All these reveal its sinister intention to tarnish the external image of the DPRK and to justify its move for an international pressure against the DPRK.
It is indeed the height of shamelessness and absurdity that the words of “cyber threat” are uttered by the United States – a mastermind of cyber-crime, who possesses the world’s largest cyber-war force and abuses the internet space to furiously conduct cyber-wars against whatever the countries, without distinguishing between its enemy and its ally.
It is widely known to the world that the U.S. has a notorious large-size intelligence institution called the National Security Agency which receives an astronomical amount of budget from the Congress and specializes in indiscriminate surveillance, wiretapping and disrupting of the internet space, telecommunication networks and financial systems all over the world.
According to the testimony of Snowden, former U.S. intelligence agent, the National Security Agency launches more than 61,000 hacking operations of all kinds throughout the world under an internet surveillance plan called “Prism.” The NSA is also said to collect approximately 5 billion records of mobile phones on a daily basis by tapping the phones of almost all countries including our country, and it even taps the mobile phones of the leaders of its allies.
It is a fact admitted even by the U.S. judicial authority that the sensational incident of the U.S. in July, where the celebrities had been hacked, was committed by a 17-year-old hacker living in Florida.
Nowadays, banking institutions of several countries are suffering tremendous losses from a large-scale cyber-attack, and it should be duly doubted if it has been done by the U.S., which is now bogged down in a serious economic crisis.
Such being the case, the forced linkage by the U.S. of our country with “cyber-crime” is nothing but the stereotyped method employed by the U.S. in order to dilute the criticism directed against it. No countries will be duped any further by such conspiratorial propaganda.
The U.S. should better exercise self-restraint, bearing in mind that provoking us would bring about a direr consequence.
The officials of the Central Committee of the WPK immediately went to the sites for recovery from damage, true to the noble intention of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who said that it is one of top-priority tasks to be surely carried out by our Party to go among the people and encourage and sincerely help them when they are in trouble and feel difficult.
In Ongjin, Kangryong and Pyoksong counties they are working hard to lessen the reduction in the crop yield with the farmers in the most severely stricken fields.
They encouraged the farmers to successfully conclude this significant year's farming while doing farming work such as picking up corns and digging ditches and repairing dwelling houses just as members of the workteams and sub-workteams would do.
Visiting the families of farmers with aiding materials prepared by them with sincerity, they learned about their living conditions as their real parents would do and encouraged them to firmly defend the socialist cooperative fields.
People in the damaged areas were deeply impressed with the appearance of officials of the WPK Central Committee who had meals from the same pot as the farmers and shared common weal and woe with them after launching the campaign for recovering from damage from early dawn till late at night.
People in the damaged areas said in excitement that officials of the WPK Central Committee helped them relieved of their worries after they were hit by typhoon, and that they remain unperturbed by any storm and stress as there is the care of Marshal Kim Jong Un and the mother party.

We vehemently condemn shameful distortion of Japan, a hereditary enemy of the Korean nation, and its ambition for reinvasion
It has been 110 years since the unlawful "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" was fabricated. The "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty", which had been faked in violation of the international principle and regulations, was a forged treaty without signature and seal of the then Korean emperor. With the treaty, Japan rubbed out Korea that had existed for mere form's sake, reduced Korea into its colony and enforced oppressive rule for decades. Japan’s occupation of Korea and its colonial rule was hideous unethical and anti-state crimes unprecedented in the history of world. The Korean people are shaking with anger at enormity, inhumanity and brutality of Japan which had tried to obliterate Korea on the earth, pursuing the policy of stamping out the Korean nation. Japan had inflicted indescribable misfortune pains upon the Korean people in the last century. The historical facts can never be erased or covered up no matter how much water may flow under the bridge. No statute of limitations is applicable. It has distorted and whitewashed past crimes, openly denying apology to the Korean nation it had committed against them and turning its face away from compensation. It specifies “ability of striking on enemy bases” in its white paper 2020 and overtly seeks legalization of war provocation and a military power, amid the ultra-right media circulate “north Korea’s nuclear threat to Japan”. It is a belligerent expression of Japan to launch any military maneuvers against north Korea in a bid to win its aggressive goal. It is little better than a declaration of war for reinvasion of the Korean Peninsula. Nevertheless, the pro-Japanese elements in south Korea are fanning up aggression fever, siding with Japan. The south Korean conservative group, which dwarfed the five traitors of 1905, went on a hunger strike against abrogation of the general security of military intelligence agreement (GSOMIA) with Japan, prattling “risk of security and economy”, “disruption of tripartite cooperation of security” and “rupture of south Korea-US alliance”. At the beck and call of American master, the present south Korean authorities are adding flavor to Japan’s arrogance, while taking an irresolute and a weak attitude towards Japan. The AINDF Central Committee, in reflection of a century-long pent-up grudge of the Korean nation against Japan, strongly denounces Japan’s ambition for reinvasion of Korea, distorting its crime-woven past and beautifying on the other hand and criticizes the pro-Japanese elements which are going to revive disgraceful history of the last century. 110 years have elapsed since the fabrication of the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" and 75 years have passed since Japan, styling itself the “leader of Asia”, drained the cup of defeat. The aggressive nature of Japan, which faked the treaty by brigandish demand, remains unchanged. Japan’s ambition to realize the “theory of the conquest of Korea” is getting more rapacious. It is a constant strategy of Japan to swallow up the Korean Peninsula. The south Koreans of various circles and civil organizations, who value the dignity and independence of the nation, should turn out in the nationwide struggle, looking squarely at imminent seriousness and dangerousness of Japan’s reinvasion. Curse and wrath cannot break Japan’s ambition for reinvasion. It is not surprising that anti-Japanese feelings are prevalent across south Korea. The struggle for frustrating Japan’s distortion of history and ambition for reinvasion is the just one to defend dignity and sovereignty of the nation. The south Korean people and pro-reunification organization of various strata should chill Japan’s ambition for reinvasion and satisfy a century-long grudge of the Korean nation against Japan. The drive to eradicating pro-Japanese traitors is one facet of the anti-Japanese struggle. The south Koreans should make the present pro-Japanese forces siding with Japan to stand trial as like the five traitors of 1905. The liquidation of Japan’s past crimes is the demand of the times and the will of the people and it is the task of the people to foil Japan’s ambition for reinvasion. The south Korean people from all walks of life, mindful of the importance of the anti-Japanese struggle, should display the mettle of the Korean nation aspiring after dignity, independence and justice to satisfy the deep-rooted grudge of the Korean people against Japan by launching a nationwide anti-Japanese resistance.

The third meeting for the promotion of national independence and great unity was held under the auspices of the preparatory committee for promoting the reunification outside the war memorial house in Seoul. 114 organizations and 1 000 members of preparatory committee are involved in the preparatory committee. 
About 600 members of the organizations including Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and reunification vanguard of the Korean Federation of Trade Unions were participated at the meeting. Independence and reunification are advancing on the strength of the popular masses, progress and patriotism, the appeal said. The appeal called for the people to pool their efforts to achieve national sovereignty free from domination and intervention of the US by intensifying the anti-US struggle. |

Hot anti-US struggle
A news conference was held to condemn the south Korea-US joint military drill outside the US Naval Command in Busan under the auspices of a civil organization in Busan. The power holders in south Korea are all pro-Japanese and US elements. Only labors, peasants and the needy in the city who were untainted by Americanism are honorable before the US. The popular masses could wage the struggle to withdraw the US forces from south Korea and the working people are the motive force of the national reunification, the chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification stressed. After the end of the news conference, they launched vigorous struggle carrying slogans and placards “No US intervention, total suspension of the south Korea-US joint military exercise, dissolve the south Korea-US working group, withdraw the US troops present in south Korea”. One thousand unionists of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in Busan held a meeting to strongly demand the suspension of the joint maneuvers disturbing the peace and escalating the danger of war in the Korean Peninsula outside the US Naval Command in Busan.

Coming 9th September will mark the 72nd founding anniversary of the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea.
9th September 1948, the founding of the DPRK was the remarkable event for the first time in the history of the Korean nation that opened a new era of building the genuine sovereign state and the people's country.
The arduous route of our country was to endure the worst trials the like of which the world had never seen in the history.
The difficulties to overcome such as the fierce Korean war(1950~1953), the postwar reconstruction upon the heaps of ashes, war threats which has been lasted for scores of years and extreme economical difficulties caused by the imperialists' maneuvers to isolate and stifle our Korea , blocked our advance.
Nevertheless, our Korean people never gave up the way, but overcame all the challenges facing our advance under the wise leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung and comrade Kim Jong Il, thus turned our country into a powerful state admired by the world peoples, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defense.
On the contrary to several nations who surrendered to the imperialists' pressure by giving up the revolutionary principles, our fatherland achieved the independent development by holding fast to their independent position in the persistent obstacles of the imperialists and hostile forces, It is no doubt a miracle.
The basic key, by which we Korea won victory after victory without any slightest twist or deviation even in the unprecedented difficulties, lies in strictly adhering to and embodying the revolutionary line of the independence.
Unless the country has self-supporting economic foundation and self-defensive capabilities, it can not realize the independent politics but it would have to study others' faces.
Under the Japanese colonialism, our country was remained just only a backward colonial agrarian country until 1945 but after the liberation our people carried out the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution successfully. And they started everything again in the debris of the war (1950~1953) provoked by the US and created another miracle by completing the task of socialist industrialization in such a short span of 14 years.
Thanks to the self-supporting national economy with development of metallurgical industry free from cokes, independent chemical industry based on domestic raw materials, powerful heavy and light industrial foundation, our country is achieving great leaps day by day even in the severe "sanctions" by the hostile forces. Today our scientific and technological potentials are being recognized by the world society.
Our Korean people, who had been subjected to the fate of colonial slavery, having no power to safeguard ourselves, directed the first and foremost efforts to strengthening the national defense capabilities. Today we Korea became a military power that nobody can dare to covet and we enjoy the position of a strategic state.
The history and realities of our fatherland proves the truth that the great leader makes even a small country into a powerful state.
It is totally thanks to having great leaders in our country, which is small in size and its population, turned into today's power in only 72 years.
The great leader comrade Kim Il Sung and comrade Kim Jong Il were the great persons who recieved the boundless admiration and respect of the world peoples.

60 years ago today , 29th of August 1960, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Cuba established diplomatic relations.
The relationship between People's Korea and Cuba has always been a close one due to the fact that both a revolutionary socialist countries fighting against imperialism .
Significantly one of the first Cuban leaders to visit the DPRK was the immortal Major Ernesto Che Guevara who visited the DPRK on the 2nd of December 1960.Che praised the DPRK as the socialist country he liked best(and indeed some vile reactionaries castigated Che for this . The DPRK mourned Che when he was killed in battle in Bolivia. President KIM IL SUNG wrote a special tribute to Che . A kindergarten in the DPRK is named after Che Guevara .
Fidel Castro visited the DPRK in 1986 and President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez visited the DPRK in 2018 . Raul Castro has also visited the DPRK .
Senior DPRK figures such as Kim Yong Nam and vice Chairman Kim Yong Chol and KPA chief of general staff Kim Kyok Sik have all visited Cuba.
The DPRK has always stood by Cuba . In 1962 when the Caribbean crisis occurred and the USSR lost its nerve , the DPRK comrade KIM IL SUNG instructed the DPRK Embassy staff and their families to arm themselves and fight to the end. The DPRK actually sent a KPA General to Cuba as its ambassador. DPRK students studying in Cuba also armed themselves ready to fight.The DPRK gave political and military assistance, while sending food and while sending food and tractors as well as a group of technicians.. The DPRK also publicly supported the 5 -point demands of Premier Fidel Castro which included the US withdrawal from Guantanamo. The DPRK press denounced the Soviet revisionists for their capitulationism and cowardice.
Later in 1986 the DPRK supplied Cuba with 100,000 automatic rifles at cost price , this was at a time when the Soviet revisionists in the grip of Gorbachov's perestroika were in the process of ending their military assistance to Cuba.
The DPRK -Cuba relationship is a militant , revolutionary and durable friendship .
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Saturday sent a message of greeting to Raul Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, president of the Republic of Cuba.
The message extended warm and comradely greetings to the first secretary and the president of Cuba, the friendly Cuban party, government and people on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the DPRK and the Republic of Cuba.
The message said that for the past 60 years the peoples of the two countries have invariably preserved and developed the precious tradition of friendship, unity and cooperation created by the great leaders of the revolution of the two countries despite the complicated international situation and all sorts of challenges by the hostile forces.
It expressed the belief that the strategic and comradely relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in the future in the joint struggle for independence and socialism against imperialism.
It sincerely wished the Cuban leaders greater success in their responsible work, extending full support to the Cuban people in their just struggle to firmly defend gains of revolution and victoriously advance the cause of socialism. -0-
Is People's Korea really like Belarus ?
The DPRK as yet has made no official statement on Belarus . However we decided to make this short commentary because a few blockheads and daft idiots have been trying to say the DPRK and Belarus are similar or even that ' Belarus is a north Korea in Europe ' (chance would be a fine thing ! ).
UK KFA does not take a position on the rights and wrongs of the disturbances in Belarus . However the following should be noted , firstly there are good relations between the DPRK an Belarus , secondly UK KFA supports the right of countries to be independent and pursue their own path .
So are the DPRK and Belarus really the same ? The answer is no . Whatever laudable qualities Belarus may have (for example clean streets ) is not actually a socialist country . The DPRK is a socialist country based on the social ownership of the means of production , distribution and exchange . The DPRK is based on the Juche idea , a communist revolutionary idea , whereas Belarus can be said to be based on social democratic ideology .People on both sides wrongly think Belarus is a socialist country , 'the last Soviet republic ' etc or 'hardline communist regime ' . In fact
US imperialist fast food monopolies such as McDonald's, KFC, Burger King and Dominoes have found their way into the country. There was also a Harley Davison store as evidence and there are two US style malls with Pull and Bear type stores. The DPRK does not have a McDonalds or KFC .
The DPRK is based on single hearted unity and the Juche idea and is different to both the former USSR and Eastern Europe and to a country like Belarus . A 'colour revolution ' cannot happen in the DPRK .

Lankov is wrong
Andrei Lankov in an article in the notorious "NK News" has made an absolutely groundless speculation that the DPRK is closely watching the current situation in Belarus to see if are any recursions for "North Korea"? Firstly the political and social environment in Belarus is extremely different from the DPRK. In the DPRK there is single heated ideological unity, whereas in Belarus there remains pluralism in places and contradictions of competing influences. Secondly in the DPRK there is no cultural infiltration from outside and in the major cities of Belarus such as Minsk there appears to be a huge amount of "globalized culture" effecting the youth in the guise of the hipster lifestyles. Thirdly Belarus still has some hangovers from the nationalist influences of 1918-19 and 1941-44. Fourthly, the WPK actively combats the propaganda of imperialism from reaching the population of the DPRK, in Belarus all the media agencies of the West are freely available in that country. Fifthly, the DPRK has a totally socialist economy and socialist political structure in place with a working class party in power, in Belarus there is mixed economy and there is a bourgeoisie. Finally, the DPRK does not enjoy as close relationship with the Belarusian Republic as it does with the Russian Federation and the Peoples Republic of China, so events in Minsk have no real impact in the DPRK. Once again the reasoning of Lankov has been proven to be very weak, as it is based on misinformation, fantasy and conjecture!!

Kim Jong Un summoned Ri Chol Man, chairman of the South Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, to receive a report on the situation of damage in the province.
He said that the damage by Typhoon No. 8 is smaller than expected, adding that he had worried a lot but he feels it is fortunate to have damage that much.
Saying that as all the Party organizations and officials took foresighted security measures immediately after receiving the instructions made by the Party Central Committee to have the proper consciousness of countering crisis and thoroughly prevent the damage from the typhoon, they could reduce casualties and minimize the damage in every sector, he positively appraised national crisis control system against natural disasters taking up proper shape and the ability to counter the crisis making remarkable improvement.
Referring to the need to do well the work of removing the damage by typhoon by focusing all efforts, he pointed out that it is necessary to direct efforts to minimizing the damage in the agricultural field in particular and reduction in the harvest by making a correct examination of the damage to crops and taking measures for improving their growth in touch with the institutions of agricultural science.

The editorial notes that all the officials, party members and working people should make big achievements by bringing about a great upsurge in production under the uplifted banner of self-reliance and thus significantly greet the 8th Congress of the Party.

For Development of Non-Aligned Movement
Late in October 2019, the 18th Summit Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was held in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, to discuss the issue of steadily holding higher the banner of unity and cooperation for peace and independence against war and imperialism.
The conference was attended by over 3 000 persons, including heads of the state and government, high-level delegations and delegates from 120 NAM member nations and delegates from several international bodies. Under the theme of “Upholding the Bandung principle to ensure concerted and adequate response to the challengers of contemporary world”, it discussed the issues on peace and security, disarmament, human rights and the situation in the Middle East.
It adopted the final document of the 18th NAM Summit Conference, the “Baku Declaration”, etc.
The NAM, which started with 25 member nations on September 1, 1961, has developed into a political force comprising one hundred and tens of countries and, today, is proudly exercising its influence in the international arena.
Since its admission to the NAM on August 25, 1975, the DPRK has made more vigorous efforts to foil the moves of imperialists for aggression and war and their high-handed and arbitrary practices.
As a result, the NAM gained momentum, ushering in a new stage of struggle for consolidating unity, solidarity and cooperation between member nations.
The work of strengthening and developing the NAM is of great significance in building the world as required by the peace-loving countries and peoples.
Many countries around the world are now aspiring after global independence against dominationism and hegemony.
On the contrary, the dominationist forces are going against the trend of the independent era by maintaining and expanding aggressive military blocs.
In particular, the international situation is getting complicated due to the powers’ competition for seeking hegemony. And due to highhanded and arbitrary practices of the imperialist and dominationist forces, peace, stability and sovereignty are being violated in different countries and regions around the world.
Such realities demand the member nations of the NAM, the powerful revolutionary force in the era of independence, make endeavours to give full play to their role.
They should unite under the banner of anti-imperialist independence for their common cause and make vigorous efforts to realize international justice.
The DPRK is creditably performing its duty and role in the struggle for global independence while invariably adhering to the principle of the NAM.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the WPK, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, was present at the meetings.
Attending the meetings were members and alternate members of the Political Bureau including members of the Executive Policy Council of the Central Committee of the WPK.
Present there as observers were leading officials of departments of the WPK Central Committee and members of relevant fields.
Supreme Leader of the Party, the state and the armed forces Kim Jong Un presided over the 17th enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK.
The meeting discussed in depth the relevant issues of examining the state emergency anti-epidemic posture to cope with the world public health crisis and further intensifying the anti-epidemic work.
The meeting seriously assessed some defects in the state emergency anti-epidemic work for checking the inroads of the malignant virus, and studied measures to overcome the defects urgently.
The meeting stressed the need to imbue officials of the Party, public security and defense organs at all levels once again with the idea of the Party Central Committee on taking intense anti-epidemic measures and to thoroughly maintain perfect anti-epidemic posture.
Citing facts about some shortcomings in state emergency anti-epidemic work, the Supreme Leader underlined the need to take active measures involving the entire Party and society for completing and maintaining the anti-epidemic posture and eliminating some defects.
The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK made relevant decisions on agenda items brought up for discussion.
The meeting put an emphasis on the discussion of the issues of taking thorough state emergency measures on preventing the damage with strong typhoon expected to affect the overall area of the DPRK including South Hwanghae, South Phyongan and North Phyongan Provinces between August 26 and 27.
Kim Jong Un set forth tasks for the Party organizations, people's power organs and public security organs at all levels, saying that to thoroughly prevent the casualties by typhoon and minimize the damage to the crops is an important work which can never be neglected even a moment for our Party bearing the responsibility for the destiny of the people and also a crucial one deciding whether we would successfully wrap up this year's farming or not.
He stressed the need to conduct information activities among officials, Party members and other working people in an intensive way to awaken them to the importance of the work for preventing the damage by typhoon and the method for countering crisis, and called upon all the fields of national economy to take instant measures to prevent the damage from the typhoon.
The meeting decided to map out and issue the written directive of the Central Committee of the Party on thoroughly implementing the instructions given by Kim Jong Un.
There took place a meeting of the Executive Policy Council following the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee.
The meeting studied and discussed practical issues arising in implementing the decision of the 6th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the WPK on convening the 8th Congress of the WPK.
The meeting organized the preparatory committee for the successful 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and decided on the work system and the assignment of work for the panels and groups.

The International Central Committee for Songun Study issued the following statement today on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL which is celebrated by the citizens of Juche Korea as the Day of Songun ;
Today it is 60 years since the great leader generalissimo KIM JONG IL started his long journey of Songun revolutionary leadership at the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards no 105 tank divison of the Korean People's Army. The No 105 tank division is an army unit of the KPA steeped in revolutionary history as it was the first KPA unit to rush into Seoul during the great Fatherland Liberation War of 1950-1953. August 25th is now proudly celebrated in the DPRK as the Day of Songun . Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN wrote
" The Day of Songun, when General Kim Jong Il started his leadership of the Songun revolution, is, together with the day of the founding of the KPA (Korean People's Army), a historic day when an important milestone was set up for the history of building up our revolutionary armed forces and the history of our country. As there was this significant day, a historic turn could be brought about in developing our revolutionary armed forces and implementing the cause of the Juche revolution, and the history and traditions of our sacred Songun revolution that had been pioneered and developed by force of arms, achieving victory, could be carried forward continuously"
The Songun revolutionary leadership of the great generalissimo KIM JONG IL began at a time when the US imperialists were causing tension all over the world such as the Vietnam war and the Cuban missile crisis. The modern revisionists , the agents of the imperialists in the international communist movement and the socialist camp, had capitulated to imperialism and were even putting pressure on the DPRK to give up its anti-imperialist stand and disarm itself , melting down tanks and guns , under the banner of 'peaceful co-existence ' and 'peaceful co-operation' with the imperialists. The great generalissimo's KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL declared that the DPRK would not go down this road but would build up the people's revolutionary armed forces on the basis of self-reliance. The great leader generalissimo KIM JONG IL carried forward the cause of Juche-army building and Songun revolutionary leadership pioneered by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . During the five decades of Songun revolutionary leadership the heroic Korean People's Army was built up splendidly in all field not just in terms of weaponry and technique but in terms of ideology and morale. The KPA became the pillar of the Songun revolution.
Under the Songun revolutionary leadership the KPA discharged its role of defender of the gains of socialism with honour. Many times,since the end of the Korean war, the US imperialists tried to provoke or stifle the DPRK but in each incident ; the "USS Pueblo " in 1968 , the EC121 incident of 1969, the Panmunjom incident of 1976 , the helicopter shoot-down of 1994, the first and second "nuclear crisis" and other incidents ,they were thwarted thanks to the invincible might of Songun
