On the 7th of August I woke up and went to check the latest news from the Korean Central News Agency on the computer . I saw the headline 'Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Inspects Flood-Damaged Area in North Hwanghae Province' and read the article with a great deal of interest . I learnt that respected Marshal KIM JONG UN Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK had gone to the scene of serious flooding at Taechong-ri Area of Unpha County, North Hwanghae Province. Fortunately no -one had died as a result of the flooding but the floods had destroyed a lot of homes and also damaged several hundred hectares of rice crops .
Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN had rushed to scene , driving his own car , when he heard the news . This was in stark contrast to the corrupt self-serving capitalist politicians of the imperialist countries who do nothing for their people . For example it took Boris Johnson a whole week to visit a flooded area in Britain . Floods also hit south Korea , in fact much worse than the DPRK because 30 people died , however a week has gone past but no sign of south Korean chief executive Moon Jae In at the scene of the floods .Moreover Marshal KIM JONG UN had minimal security unlike capitalist politicians .I remember a few years a severe fire destroyed a block of flats called the Grenfell Tower in West London and killed dozens and dozens of people , Theresa May the then prime minister ( now an almost forgotten figure) visited the scene surrounded by lots of people plus her armed bodyguards Whereas Marshal KIM JONG UN met the local people in Taechong Ri , May refused to meet the locals at Grenfell due to 'security concerns' .
Marshal KIM JONG UN gave instructions that those who lost their homes in the flood should be accommodated at " offices including those at the Party committee and people's committee of the county, public buildings and separate houses' . He also ordered grain from the reserve stocks of the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission should be supplied to those affected by the flooding
This is an profound expression of the people -centred and people-orientated policy of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN . In his report to the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in May 2016 Marshal KIM JONG UN stressed that " the Workers' Party of Korea held in May 2016 respected Marshal KIM JONG UN stated that " It is important to apply the people-first principle thoroughly in all aspects of Party work.
Applying the people-first principle is the intrinsic demand of our Party, which is struggling for the sake of the masses of the people and conducting its activities by relying on them.
All the work and activities of the Party should be conducted with the masses of the people at the centre. The climate of believing in the strength of the people and depending on them should pervade the whole Party, and the main thrust of Party work should be directed at promoting the people's well-being.
"Let the whole Party make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the great people!"–this is the fighting slogan our Party should be holding high at present. We should regard it as an iron rule to respect the people, defend their destiny and give the highest and absolute priority to their interests and comfort"
This was put into action .On Sunday 9th of August only three days after the floods ,trucks carrying grain fro the reserves of the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission arrived in Unpha County .This shows that Marshal KIM JONG UN is a man of action and a man of his word . Later relief goods were distributed by members of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea . Contrast this to the fact that three years after the Grenfell tower disaster some survivors are still waiting to be rehoused (what a scandal ) . This shows the superiority of the Juche -based socialist system over the capitalist system . Moreover it demonstrates the true people-centred policies of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and the great Workers Party of Korea . Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a leader taking care of the people .
