Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- It is the unstained and pure mind of our people to splendidly greet the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) as the one of special importance in the history of the WPK by making valuable and significant gifts for the mother Party, says Rodong Sinmun in an editorial on Thursday.
The editorial notes that all the officials, party members and working people should make big achievements by bringing about a great upsurge in production under the uplifted banner of self-reliance and thus significantly greet the 8th Congress of the Party.

We should hold higher the slogan of "Self-reliance is the only way out!" to kindle the flame of the general advance with the spirit of self-reliance and make achievements in the economic construction by our own efforts.
We should continue to wage a dynamic struggle for thoroughly implementing the decisions made at the meetings of the Party, holding aloft the banner of self-reliance.
