DPRK is highlighted by brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu

DPRK is highlighted by brilliant commander of Mt. Paektu

Looking back upon the past, foreign soldiers guarded the royal palace as Korea had no regular army and the Korean nation became a ruined people.
Numerous Korean people conducted resistance against Japanese army equipped with up-to-date weapons by means of spears, swords and matchlocks. Sometimes they waged popular uprisings and appealed to the conscience of humanity and justice of the world for Korea’s independence.
A Korean patriot Ri Jun demonstrated the Korean nation’s true spirit of independence by disemboweling himself at an international peace conference held in The Hague and An Jung Gun demonstrated the mettle of the Koreans by shooting Ito Hirobumi to death at the Harbin Station and cheered for independence. In addition, a campaign was launched to pay back the money that Korea had received from Japan after Russo-Japanese war. To this end, the men gave up smoking and the women cut down their expenses on food and sold their trinkets. However, Korea failed to maintain her independence.
President Kim Il Sung proclaimed a war against Japanese imperialist on the tableland at Tuqidian, Antu, surrounded by larch trees 77 years ago.
It was the sacred anti-Japanese revolution started by the President with two pistols inherited from his father Kim Hyong Jik.
The Japanese imperialists called the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army “a drop in the ocean”, but a miracle was made that the AJGA won victory in the war led by the President. Arms of Mt. Paektu brought about the liberation of Korea and foundation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, an independent sovereign state.
Making a firm resolve not to return before Korea had become independent, President Kim Il Sung waged the anti-Japanese bloody war for over 20 years and at last defeated Japan, styling itself as one of the five powers of the world. Indeed, he is a legendary hero and peerless patriot.
The US-led imperialist reactionaries put unprecedented political and military pressure upon the DPRK, the only citadel of socialism, from the early period of its foundation and, in particular, in 1990s. What is worse, the DPRK suffered shortage of food due to natural disasters for consecutive years.
Many people in the world foretold that the only way for the DPRK is to surrender or beg before imperialism.
Mightiness, weakness, happiness and misfortune of a nation depend on leader.
The people talk about the rise and fall of a country with a leader of the contemporary age. Because the fate of a country depends on authority and leadership ability of the leader.
At that juncture, leader Kim Jong Il opted for defending the country with his Songun politics, declaring determinedly do not expect any change from him.
The people of the DPRK unhesitatingly chose the arduous way to defend justice before submission and honorably safeguarded the sovereignty of the country.
It, which had been plagued by aggression of foreign forces, as it had no warship to defend its territorial waters in the past, is a strong military power with self-defensive war deterrent that no one dares to provoke.
The world people, who studied the Songun politics with doubt, highly speak of it and the pressure of US against socialist Korea turned into the recognition of the DPRK.
The imperialist reactionaries, who contemplate to handle north Korea easily, were frustrated in their attempts.
A foreign political analyst commented that there are three wonders in north Korea: Firstly, Korean-style socialism stands as an invincible bulwark in the international political arena, secondly, north Korea is highlighted as a prosperous nation from an abyss of death and thirdly, the western countries, that had pursued the hostile policy toward north Korea, extended hands of reconciliation to the latter.
Some countries brag about their wealth but are easily defeated in the showdown to defend independence, a lifeline of the country and nation.
Though their dignity is violated, some countries are hardly expressing their will and pursue state policy, reading face of imperialists. There is a tragic story that a head of state was arrested by aggressive troops or in the disgraceful dock.
The world says north Korea is a strong country as it stands against the US which has larger territory and makes desperate efforts to control the world with iron fist, squandering zillions of US dollars for the military expenditure in a year.
The DPRK draws attention of the world people, as it is a dignified counterpart in the showdown with the US when majority countries curry flavor with the US, studying face of it.
The DPRK’s mightiness guarantees peace in the East and the world.
The history of war in the Northeast Asia in the end of 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century proved hot contest between the big powers were ceaseless when Korea was weak. However, the present reality after 100 years shows when Korea is strong, peace, development and prosperity of Asia and the world are secured.
The south Korean people from all walks of life highly eulogize that their future depends on Kim Jong Il, Chairman of the DPRK National Defense Commission, and his politics guarantees Korea’s reunification. They are grateful that his Songun umbrella prevents a war and their families are blessed.
The DPRK, which experienced unprecedented hardships and worst difficulties, has nothing to afraid of in the world and it is evidenced that erasing the great entity of the DPRK in the history is a preposterous delusion.
It launched an artificial satellite Kwangmyongsong No. 2, sneering at the imperialist reactionaries’ economic sanctions for 60-odd years and it conducted a nuclear test, demonstrating the dignity of the independent power and Songun Korea.
The US and the imperialist reactionaries shiver with righteous military strength and invincible deterrence of the DPRK.
President Kim Il Sung, the sun of the 20th century, is a savior of the Korean nation and father of socialist Korea who achieved Korea’s liberation by defeating a million-strong Japanese army and built a paradise for the people. Kim Jong Il is a peerless patriot, who provides the Korean people with peace, prosperity and hope by turning the DPRK into an independent Songun power in the world.
As clear sky is unthinkable apart from the sun, a thriving socialist Korea is inconceivable without brilliant commander of Songun.
Korea’s liberation and a new society for the people had been realized by President Kim Il Sung, father of Songun, who frightened the Japanese imperialist. The dawn of thriving nation, peace and prosperity will certainly break in the Korean Peninsula by leader Kim Jong Il, the sun of Songun, who leads the Korean people to the bright future with his energetic field guidance.

Kim Jong Suk(December 24, 1917-September 22, 1949)

Abstracts from Great Leader Kim Il Sung's Reminiscences "With the Century"

On the occasion of the 60th demise anniversary of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk

HER LIFE FOR OTHER PEOPLE

Kim Jong Suk lived for other people, not for herself. She devoted her entire life to others. She always took care of other people at her expense. Whenever she was served food, she would share it with soldiers with bulkier bodies or with young soldiers. The young curly-haired soldier of the 1st Platoon, 4th Company, who was said to have been a bosom friend of her younger brother, Ki Song, must have eaten her share more than anyone else. She would mend the torn uniforms and shoes of male soldiers, when everybody else had gone to bed.

Devotion to her comrades and the common cause was the nucleus of her personality and personal charm. (Volume 5)

HER GREAT CONTRIBUTION TO THE GREAT VICTORY OF THE KPRA

Through these secret places Kim Jong Suk amassed details on the movement of the troops, led by Kim Sok Won at the battle in Jiansanfeng and reported them to Headquarters in time, rendering a great contribution to the victory of the Peoples Revolutionary Army.

Kim Jong Suk instructed members of organizations to learn the strength of enemy troops and police stationed in the Sinpha area, the distribution of their military installations and their military equipment. She herself personally confirmed the width and depth of the River Amnok, the speed of its current and even the most favourable site for crossing the river and returning; she then made a rough sketch before sending it to us. (Volume 5)

AS A TRUE DAUGHTER OF PEOPLE

In summer 1937 Kim Jong Suk was arrested by the enemy.

The rolls of paper which Womens Association members in Taoquanli had prepared to send to our printing shop were detected during a search by Jingan army soldiers. This served as the prime reason behind her arrest.

Believing that this was the last moment of her life, she wrote her will to the organization, which read as follows:

Take it easy. I will be killed, but the organization must continue its existence. I enclose two yuan, my only assets. Please use it for the organizations funds.”…

Jong Tong Chol prepared the written warranty they demanded and put it on the chiefs desk. The chiefs eyes almost popped out in astonishment. It was a common, popular mentality not to seal rashly with ones thumb a document testifying that a disturbing element, spotted as a traitor or communist bandit, was in fact a good citizen. Although he had promised to release her in exchange for the written warranty as a matter of prestige arising from his friendship with Jong Tong Chol, the station chief thought it could never be carried out.

The warranty was signed by 500 seals and thumbsthis was indeed a miracle.

So many people placed without hesitation their stamps on the document as proof of their infinite love and support for her. In other words the peoples absolute trust and support proved more powerful than me power of authority and money.

Kim Jong Suk recalled tearfully her rescue from the jaws of death, thanks to the help of her comrades. She said that during her detainment in Yaofangzi, she could easily have escaped, but had decided not to. She said:

When I looked at them, I thought: I can easily slip off; but if I do so, what will happen to the old couple and village head Jong, who vouched for my innocence and how much suffering and distress will the underground organizations and people in Taoquanli have to face?

This thought made me determined to protect the organizations and people at the cost of my life. That night I slept soundly in the front room of the house. My determination to sacrifice my life calmed me. I feared nothing. (Volume 5)

HER SOUL NEVER SEPARATED FROM THE PEOPLE

The Womens Association members also followed her, shedding tears and begging her to take them with her. One of them kept following her until she crossed over Mt. Baotai without any thought of returning home. After repeated attempts to dissuade her coming with her, Kim Jong Suk put her silver ring on the womans finger and untied the womans red belt and tied it round her own waist.

True to her promise, Kim Jong Suk wore the red woollen belt under her uniform all the time after her return to the unit. It was only after I married to her that I came to know the meaning of the belt, which had never been removed from her waist.

Kim Jong Suk always lived, cherishing the warmth of the people in her body along with the belt. Her soul was never separated from the people.

At times I ask myself; how could Kim Jong Suk carry out such challenging underground activities, enjoying the love and support of so many people?

If Kim Jong Suk hadnt loved the people sincerely, they would not have paid any attention to her on the eve of her death. Anyone who does not devote his whole for the sake of the people, cannot receive sincere help from them at crucial periods. She was duly paid back by the people, whom she had treasured and nursed with so much care, with all the affection she had devoted to them. All in all, the written warranty signed by 500 people should be called an eternal document, vouchsafing her fidelity to the people.

In autumn 1991, more than half a century after Kim Jong Suk left Taoquanli, I paid a visit to Sinpha during field guidance to Ryanggang Province, the place she had devoted her heart and soul to. Although scores of years had passed, the relics associated with her secret activities were preserved, as they had been in those days

Looking at the nasty fort standing on the River Amnok as it had been, I thought that Kim Jong Suk must have run many risks and gone through several fateful moments to transform this locality in a revolutionary fashion.

As I headed for the railway station at dusk, I looked back at the streets in Sinpha; I do not know why, but I felt reluctant to leave this place. (Volume 5)

AN UNFORGETABLE PHOTO

At that time, some women guerrillas, getting wind of our photography session, ran to me and said they also would like to get their photos taken. So I posed for a few photos with them. They then suggested to me that I should have a photo taken with Kim Jong Suk. Hearing this, she grew shy and hid herself behind the backs of the women guerrillas. They pushed her forward to my side, smiling all the way. In order not to miss the moment, a comrade clicked the shutter.

That was probably the first time in my life that I had posed with a woman comrade individually. For Kim Jong Suk and me, it was as good as a wedding photo.

In those days we were still young and vivacious. We had many dreams of a bright future. Though we greeted the spring in a foreign land, we were full of confidence and in high spirits.

For both of us, it was an unforgettable first spring that we greeted after our wedding.

As I wanted to remember that spring forever, I jotted down on the back of the photo: Greeting the spring in a foreign land, March 1, 1941. At Camp B. (Volume 8)

DEVOTING HER ALL LIFE TO THE LEADER

It may be said that Kim Jong Suk devoted all her life to me. Even after marrying me, she considered me as Commander, Premier and as the foremost leader. The relationship between her and me was that between the leader and the led, between comrades. She always said she was a soldier of the leader. She never addressed me in familiar terms; she only said General or Comrade Premier. (Volume 8)

HER NOBLE HERITAGE

Though she dedicated her all to the well-being of her comrades and fellows all her life, she did not leave a single penny or any property for her son and daughter. The money she spent came out of my salary and the house and furniture she used all belonged to the state.

If there is any heritage she left with us, it is that she brought up Comrade Kim Jong Il to be the leader of the future, and presented him to the motherland and the Party. You say I brought him up to be my successor, but in actual fact the foundation was laid by Kim Jong Suk. This is the greatest service she rendered for the revolution.

On her last day she sat Kim Jong Il by her side and told him to sup port his father loyally and inherit and consummate his cause. This was her last will. Three hours later, she breathed her last. (Volume 8)

WE, THE BOLSHEVIKS, ARE FIRMLY ON THE SIDE OF THE DPRK

WE, THE BOLSHEVIKS, ARE FIRMLY ON THE SIDE OF THE DPRK

This article was written for the newspaper “2000” (a bourgeois analytical weekly paper of anti-nationalistic pro-Russian orientation) . I wrote it in response to an article by Maxim Mikhailenko, entitled “North Korean missile changes the direction of world politics” (“2000” №22(463) 2905.-4..06. 2009) in connection with the nuclear tests in North Korea and the carrying out in the DPRK of the recent missile launches.

I cannot share the judgment of these events, given by M. Mikhailenko.

A small (in territory and population) socialist country which is carrying on its own independent policy that does not please the American imperialists, is portrayed in this material as nearly the source of all the problems in that regions of the world, with the ability to influence world politics entirely, but the largest power in the world, the USA, possessing the powerful nuclear missile potential, with which it can destroy the entire population of Earth many times over, is portrayed almost like “Lamb of God”, the saviour for the fate of the world. You see, the new US president Barak Obama, compared to the hawk Bush is showing himself to be exclusively peace-loving and tolerant, including in relation to the DPRK nuclear program.

The editorial board of “2000” under the pretext of the large size of my article, refused to print it. I bring the article to the attention of our readers.

***

In order to figure out why the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was compelled to take such an extraordinary step like carrying out a nuclear test and forming its own missile- nuclear potential, it is necessary to very briefly delve deeper into the recent history of the country of “morning calm”.

At the end of the XIX century, Korea had been transformed into an area of brutal battles of major powers for a sphere of influence: on the one hand, - USA , Japan and Britain , and on the other hand – Russia , France and Germany .

On 8th October 1895, the Japanese imperialists numbering 1600 people suddenly attacked the Korean queen’s palace Kenbok and murdered Queen Min of the Li dynasty.

In this period, the group surrounding Queen Min counted on by relying upon Russia , it would be more beneficial for guaranteeing security of the queen’s palace and so began leaning towards Czarist Russia. In connection with this, the Japanese contemplated removing Queen Min in order to implement their own claims in relation to Korea . In June 1895, they sent with their own envoy one of the representatives of the fanatical war machine of Miuru who got to Seoul and mobilized for an attack non the queen’s palace using the 18th reserve battalion of the infantry of the Japanese garrison, the police unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and a band of hooligans and agents. The Japanese bandits broke into the queen’s palace. They mercilessly killed the commander of the regiment of the personal guard Hon Ge Hoon and broke into the bedroom of Queen Min. The bandits dragged her out by her hair into the palace court and killed her with sabers, and afterwards burned her body on a fire.

This unprecedented in history outrages brought about indignation by the Korean and international community. The Japanese imperialists, attempting to deceive the community, summoned Miurua and the other 47 killers to Japan under the pretext of a court enquiry. However, the court found them not guilty due to “lack of evidence”.

The outrageous murder of queen Min went into history as the “Ilimi incident”. After this killing, the Japanese imperialists cooked up the “Ilis year treaty” (1905) and the “treaty on the annexation of Korea by Japan ” (1910) and implemented the colonization of Korea having completely occupied it.

During the 40 or more years of colonial domination in Korea , the Japanese colonizers had murdered more than a million Koreans, driven more than 6 million people into labour and military duty, mobilized almost 200 thousand Korean women into “camp brothels” for entertaining Japanese soldiers, and transformed them into sex slaves. They destroyed the national cultural legacy of the Korean people, and in a predatory fashion robbed the wealth of Korea .

The Korean people carried out a continuous struggle for liberation from colonial Japanese slavery. In 1905, the patriots of Korea came out against the “Ilis year treaty” unleashed by Japan by military blackmail. Inspired by this, the King Kochzhon issued an order to units of the Army of justice to unleash an anti-Japanese struggle in seven provinces of the country. The Japanese colonizers forced the king to abstain from the thrown, but, having struck against a firm refusal, on 27 August 1907 overthrew him by force and set up a “coronation” of the Crown prince prince Suchzhon, unable to stop the country’s colonization. In overthrowing the king of Korea , the assistance to the Japanese occupiers was provided by betrayer of the Korean people Li ban Yon. According to the treaty on annexation of 1910, Japan led to zero the role of the still formally existing Korean king and the pro-Japanese puppet government, having wiped from the face of the world map even the name Korea , a country with a five-thousand year old history (material from journals “Korea Today” №1, 1996, “ Korea ” №2, 1996).

However, the Korean people did not stop their struggle for liberation from Japanese colonial slavery. Kim Il Sung entered the political arena, having led the struggle for the liberation of Korea from the Japanese occupiers. Kim Il Sung was born on 15 April in 1912 in the family of Kim Zhen Chik, an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national-Liberation movement, founder of the re-orientation of this movement from a nationalist movement into a socialist one. When Kim Il Sung was 14 years old, his father died having left a testament to his son to liberate the Motherland from the enslavers. Kim Il Sung, following his father’s testament entered the military-political school in the Geri province. There, the future leader of the Korean people studied Marxism, independently studied the works of Marx and Lenin and becomes the leaders of the students of the school. In October 1926 at a meeting of students and like-minded thinkers, Kim Il Sung becomes the leader of the students of the school. In October 1926 at a meeting of students and like-minded thinkers, Kim Il Sung formed the Down With Imperialism Union (DWIU) setting the task of achieving liberation and independence of Korea from the Japanese imperialists, and after that – the building of socialism and communism, and in the future – the victory of communism across the whole world. The national-liberation struggle of the Korean people entered a new phase and takes on an armed character. In April 1932, under the leadership of Kim Il Sung, the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerilla Army (after – the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army; - nowadays the Korean People’s Army). Kim Il Sung showed himself to be a talented organizer and outstanding leader of the armed guerilla struggle of the Korean people against the regular Japanese Army.

On 15 August 1945, the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial dominion was achieved. The victory of the Soviet Army over militarist Japan played a large role in this. On 9 September 1948, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) was formed. The recognized leader of the Korean people, Kim Il Sung headed the young state, having stood on he path of socialist construction. He formed and headed the Workers Party of Korea (WPK), the vanguard of the Korean people.

But the southern part of Korea at the end of WWII was occupied by US troops. Korea was forcefully divided by the US occupiers along the 38th parallel. In South Korea , the Americans in order to stifle the people’s-democratic revolution, broke up the people’s committees, subjected the progressive parties and formed a puppet government headed by Li Sin Man. In the aims of expanding their sphere of influence, the USA and their South Korean puppets on the 25 June 1950, unleashed a war against the DPRK, in the flow of which in relation to peaceful inhabitants, the US troops carried out outrages, before which fade the crimes of the German fascists. The armed forces of 15 states-satellites of the USA took part in the bombing of the DPRK. The aggressors rained bombs onto the DPRK, destroying cities, towns, villages and peaceful citizens. The Americans dropped 428 thousand bombs onto the capital of the DPRK – one bomb for each inhabitant of the city, and as a result, Pyongyang was transformed into ashes. The US war machine physically destroyed peaceful citizens. They shot, hanged, tore apart alive, drowned with heavy rock around the neck, burnt alive, raped Korean women until death, mercilessly killed children and old people with stakes. The US air force carried out more than 700 bombing raids using bacteriological and chemical weapons.

The Commission of the International Democratic Federation of Women for investigation of the savagery of the US fascists in Korea made the following conclusion: “Facts prove that this war was a war of mass destruction where more houses were destroyed than military objects, more food destroyed than military supplies, and more peaceful citizens killed - women, old people and children – than military servicemen. This was a war against human life itself”.

I shall cite just one of many facts of outrages by the US war machine. In the village of Vonam in the Sinchon district, hundreds of inhabitants were rounded up by the US aggressors and locked into a gunpowder storehouse. Retreating under the pressure of the Korean People’s Army at the start of December 1950, the US butchers decided to destroy the “families” of communists. By order of Harrison, the commander of the US unit, the children were forcibly removed from their mothers and locked into another storehouse. Some children had not drunk any milk or water. The US sadists took petrol into the shed saying that it was water and milk. The children, tormented by thirst, swallowed the petrol and fell over, clutching their chests, the petrol inside them. But that was not enough for the US butchers, and they poured petrol over the children and set light to them. They also set fire to the shed where the mothers were locked in. The two sheds were engulfed in flames. The Americans threw grenades at the women and children who were trying to get out. On that day, 910 innocent people were killed, including 102 children and 400 mothers (“ Korea ” №2, 1996).

But the Korean People’s Army of the young DPRK and the entire Korean people under the leadership of Commander Kim Il Sung with honor withstood the severe test of strength. The DPRK withstood this terrible war, which became known as the Fatherland Liberation War for the Korean people, and victored, despite the significant military-technical superiority of the Americans.

The troop losses of the USA and their allies-satellites amounted to 1 million 567 thousand people including 405 thousand soldiers and officers. The interventionists also lost more than 1200 plane, more than 560 naval ships, 3250 tanks and armored vehicles, a huge number if military equipment.

As a result of huge losses and under the pressure of the world community, the US was compelled to end the war, having suffered defeat by it. On 27 July 1953, an Armistice agreement was signed between the DPRK and the US , which meant the temporary cessation of military action and the drawing up of further steps on signing a peace treaty. But the US broke up further talks and, having signed the “Treaty on Mutual Defence” with the pro-American puppet regime of South Korea (?!) as if “legalizing” the indefinite presence of American troops in South Korea. At present, South Korea has been transformed by the Americans into the largest nuclear potential in the Far East, keeping China, Russia, Japan and more so the DPRK in its nuclear warhead sights. (Concerning what seems an absence of a nuclear weapon in South Korea . Yes, South Korea does not have at their disposal a nuclear weapon. But its “ally” or more accurately the occupier of the Korean peninsula – the US army does. The same thing with Japan ). Practically, the American military bases in South Korea are a trampoline for the start at any time of military action against any states in that region “undesirable” to America .

Every year, the USA and the army of puppet South Korea carry out wide-scale military maneuvers near the border of the DPRK, threatening the security of the DPRK and each time placing the peninsula on the edge of war.

Repeatedly the USA have threatened pre-emptive use of nuclear weapons against the DPRK.

Therefore the people of North Korea are compelled to have to defend themselves and constantly strengthen their own military might, carrying out the policy of Songun, worked out back in the years of the anti-Japanese guerilla war by Kim Il Sung and in the present time having become the state policy of the DPRK under the leadership of the successor and continuer of the cause of Kim Il Sung – Kim Jong IL. The Songun policy means the priority of military affairs in the defence of the gains of socialism, in defending of the freedom and independence of the Motherland. This is especially important in the conditions of continual military-nuclear blackmailing of the DPRK on part of the USA . it is namely the threat of further renewed aggression that has forced the Korean leadership to research into the sphere of nuclear missile technology and weapons.

“Any revolution is only worth anything, if it knows how to defend itself”, V.I. Lenin taught us. The policy of Songun is directed at the defence of the gains of the revolution.

***

Kim Jong Il, the continuer of the cause of Kim Il Sung, the leadership of the DPRK, and the Workers’ Party of Korea carried out and continue to carry out untiring work on the peaceful reunification of the Motherland relying on their own strengths without any hindrance.

On 15th June 2000 in Pyongyang , between leaders of North and South Korea a Joint Declaration between the North and South was signed (Declaration on unification) and its signing, like the meeting itself of leaders, was carried out under the active resistance on part of the USA to push North and South Korea against each other. This trick at that period failed. On 4 October 2007 the second “Declaration on the development of inter-Korean relations between the North and South, peace and prosperity” was signed which translated into the practical plane of questions on unifying Korea . The ex-president of South Korea Kim De Chun in June 2006 deslared: “I bring gratitude to the Chairman of the National Defence Commission (NDC the highest organ of state power in the DPRK) Kim Jong Il for the successful bringing into life the Joint Declaration from 15 June 2000”.

But the election to the post of president of South Korea Li Men Bak has turned the process of unification back and sharply complicated the relations between the North and the South of Korea. President Li Men Bak and his group are aiming to revive the era of confrontation with the North, fiercely apposing unification, acting like traitorous puppets of the USA and betrayers of their own people. The threat of war on the Korean peninsula has grown sharply, which is compelling the leadership to strengthen the military might of its own Armed Forces. Responsibility for the heightening of the confrontation fully lies on the USA and the present puppet South Korean leadership.

Under the constant aim of US nuclear warheads, the leadership of the DPRK has always come out in favour or denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula .

In December 1985, the DPRK signed up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

In November 1989, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK came out with a statement in which it proposed the carrying out of talks with the participation of the DPRK, USA, and South Korea on the withdrawal of UD nuclear weapons from the Republic of Korea, and also to carry out Pyongyang-Seoul talks with the aim of planning and signing a declaration on a denuclearized status of the Korean Peninsula.

In October 1994 a framework agreement was signed by the DPRK and USA on solving the nuclear problems and regulating the two-sided relations. The document obligated the USA to take measures on the construction in the DPRK of an nuclear power station on two light-water nuclear reactors with a capacity of 2 million kW, and also to guarantee a yearly supply to the DPRK of 500 thousand tons of liquid fuel oil. The DPRK was obligated the freezing and dismantling of its gas graphite nuclear reactor. However, the USA used this agreement in a one-sided way. The DPRK conscientiously fulfilled all its obligations relating to the USA . Therefore in 2002 the DPRK announced it was going to restart its own nuclear program which had been frozen for 8 years, and in January 2003, withdrew from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

In August 2003, the six-party talks began on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in which the USA , DPRK, South Korea , Russia , China and Japan took part. As a result of the talks, the DPRK again “froze” its own nuclear program and embarked on dismantling the Yongben nuclear reactor. However, these talks were also used by the USA and the other sides in the talks with just one aim of a one-sided ending of the DPRK nuclear program and its disarmament. The US had and has no intention of withdrawing its nuclear weapons from the Korean peninsula.. As a result, since 2008 the talks have come to a dead end after the DPRK and the USA could not come to agreement over the methods of checking the list of nuclear programs provided by Pyongyang (i.e. the USA wanted Pyongyang to allow them to the chance to freely and unhindered research all of their nuclear objects; that is what happened in Iraq, that allowed the USA to carry out reconnaissance of the main military objects of a that country before the start of the aggression of 2003, and using also the structures of the IAEA), and Japan and South Korea refused to fulfill their obligations to supply the DPRK with fuel oil for conventional power stations in return for the DPRK stopping its nuclear program.

The DPRK in such a situation had to restart its own nuclear program at full capacity.

On 5 April this year, the DPRK launched a peaceful communication satellite which Japan immediately negatively reacted to, threatening to shoot down the satellite, and the UN Security Council had turned into the outrunner of the USA . Never before in the history of peaceful use of space was there an occasion when the UNSC condemned a country for the launching of a communication satellite. But such a thing occurred recently. On 14 April, the UNSC published a biased “statement of the chairman”, criticizing and condemning the launch of the satellite by the DPRK. But the countries – members of the UNSC themselves more than others launch satellites and space apparatus of various types. Everyone else can use space, but the DPRK is not allowed to?! “Not allowed to” because this is not useful to the USA, since the DPRK is a socialist country (together with Cuba) carrying out domestic and foreign policy independent from the USA.

As a result the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK on 14 April issued a Statement which decisively condemned and rejected the unjust actions of the UNSC violating the sovereignty of the country. The DPRK declared is intention not to take part in the six-party talks which were used just for violating the sovereignty of the DPRK, and attempts at disarming it and overthrowing the social system. And also it declared it intention of a general strengthening of its own nuclear forces of restraint for self-defence, defence of peace and security on the Korean peninsula.

In connection with the fact that by fault of the USA, Japan and their clique, Russia and China and also the puppet government of South Korea, the process of denuclearization of the Korean peninsula has been torn up, the DPRK on 25 May successfully carried out a second underground nuclear test with a size of 10 -20 kilotons.

Only the firm politics of Songun by the leadership of the DPRK can stop the predators going too far and allow the DPRK to further bring about the building of Juche socialism, guaranteeing the carrying out of an independent foreign and domestic policy, independence in the economy and ability for self-defence relying upon their own forces.

Now, about the peace-loving rhetoric of US president Barak Obama.

I want to remind the readers that true power in the United States of America belongs to major capital, the biggest transnational banks and corporations, the military-industrial complex which those same TNC-s and TNB enter. The president only fulfils and implements the will of US major capital, aiming for world domination and obtaining maximum profits and super profits from the exploitation of the working people across the whole world along with the extraction of raw materials of the planet.

And if only the president attempts to carry out a policy that in some way does not benefit the financial-economic bigwigs, the Zionist lobby, the true master of America , they will quickly remove him from office. There are more than enough examples in history of this. Assassination attempts were made on 11 out of the 45 US presidents. Four presidents were killed: Abraham Lincoln (1865), James Garfield (1881), William McKinley (1901) and John Kennedy (1963). In connection with the so-called Watergate affair in August 1974, US president Richard Nixon was forced to leave office.

Immediately after the ending of WWII, the imperialists, and the military –industrial complex of the USA provoked an unprecedented arms race and unleashed the cold war against the USSR . Churchill’s anti-communist speech in Fulton , USA on 5 March 1946 in the presence of and with the blessing of US president Truman, laid down the start of the cold war. J.V. Stalin in an interview to the newspaper “Pravda” on 14 March 1946 about Churchill’s speech, said, “In essence, Mr Churchill is standing on the position of the instigators of war”. In that interview, J.V. Stalin equated Churchill with Hitler. Hitler began the cause for unleashing a war with the proclamation of the theory of race, talking about the supremacy of the German nation, and Churchill – with the same theory of race, only asserting the supremacy of English-speaking nations. And Comrade Stalin concludes that the “line” of Mr Churchill is a line for war, a call for war against the USSR ”.

The first atom bombs dropped by the Americans in August 1945 on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the destruction of hundreds of thousands of peaceful Japanese people, had already demonstrated to the whole world the intentions of the USA to establishing world domination. The use of those bombs was not dictated by military necessity, but directed at intimidating the USSR and demonstrating its military supremacy. As we know, the monopoly of the USA over nuclear weapons was liquidated in a very short time. In a few years, a nuclear bomb test was carried out in the Soviet Union (1949), and after that – the world’s first thermo-nuclear bomb was tested (1953).

The arms race that was unleashed by the USA against the Soviet Union, along with other factors (the most important of which was the anti-Stalinism unleashed by the Khrushchev leadership), played its own negative role in overloading the economy of the USSR and ended in the defeat of the Soviet Union in the cold war and the temporary defeat of socialism in the USSR and the countries of the Eastern Europe.

At present, two small powers, two proud peoples, the Korean and Cuban people are defending socialism, which in the conditions of a continuing many decades-long brutal blockade and nuclear-military blackmail and provocation on part of the USA, have not departed from the socialist path, have not succumbed to the world’s “mighty”, but by their own example are showing to the working people and oppressed peoples of the whole world, the road towards liberation.

In the post-war period during the cold war, the USA had formed outside its own borders more than 700 military bases and objects. According to data from the Washington Profile agency, US military subdivisions and bases are present in 130 countries of the world. With this, there are around 6 thousand military bases on US territory and 702 of their military bases in other countries. And the biggest owner of immoveable property across the world is the Pentagon of which more than 600 thousand buildings and erections belong to it. The number of US troops serving overseas, disregarding the number of US troops in Iraq , amounts to more than 250 thousand service personnel and roughly the same number of members of their families and civil servants. These figures were cited in the yearly report by the US defence department for 2003.

According to information from a French site “Anti-imperialist League”, the US had 737 military bases outside its own territory in 2005. They were counted by president of the American Institute for Japanese politics, Chelmerz Johnson, relying on official data from the Pentagon and published in this book “Reprisal: the last days of the American republic”. According to the data of the French site, the USA in 2005 alone, had opened up in various corners of the world, 38 military bases.

According to the opinion of specialists the number of US bases has been significantly lowered. Out of this, there are fewer bases in Afghanistan , Israel , Iraq , Qatar , Kosovo , Turkey and Britain . Thus, in Turkey , around 20 such bases are jointly owned by the Turkish and US government, and many bases in Britain are believed to be the property of the RAF. The Pentagon in its own reports repeats only of one military-naval base in Okinawa , although in actual fact there are 10 naval bases located on this Japanese island. 127 billion dollars has been spent on foreign military bases, which is more than the GDP of many countries of the world. According to the French site, in 2005, in all 658 billion US dollars was spent on maintaining military bases both inside and outside the USA .

After the victory in the cold war and the disappearance of the so-called “Soviet threat”, the military-political leadership of the USA is reexamining the system of locating its troops at foreign bases. The new conception gained the name “reconfiguration of the US military presence abroad”. The main principle in regrouping the US troops abroad lies in the raising of their strength in strategically important regions and in key directions where the main sea transport communications pass and where there are significant raw-material resources. But preference is given not to large bases where large contingents of troops of the air force, navy and marines are located with a developed infrastructure of forward military and rear provision, but the so-called forward operation bases which are to be opened in close proximity to potential enclaves of instability and the borders of states that hinder the movement of US national interests, with the location on them of a limited in number troop contingents that operate on a rotational basis.

The constant advancement of the troops of the US-NATO alliance into the East, towards the borders of Russia continues. The US-NATO bases and objects are being formed already in Romania , Bulgaria , Poland , Czech , Hungary , in all three Baltic states, in Georgia, Azerbaizhan , Kirgizia , Tadzhikistan and alos in Afghanistan , Iraq , Kuwait and Quatar. In particular, on the territory of Iraq have been formed more than 30 US military base camps where up to 150 thousand people can be located. That is not including other regions of the world, in particular Africa , and the Asia-Pacific region. The plans of the Pentagon envisage the formation of new military bases and objects in Australia , Vietnam , Malaysia , Singapore , Thailand , and the Philippines .

In Japan and South Korea , the largest groups of American troops are being deployed, equipped with nuclear weapons. In Japan at 94 bases have been deployed around 47 thousand US soldiers and officers; in South Korea – 37 thousand.

The Soviet Union, compared to the US , had incomparably fewer military bases and objects abroad. But with the destruction of the Soviet Union , a large part of them have been liquidated. Russia withdrew its own troops from Europe, and afterwards ended its military presence in Africa, Cuba , North Korea and Vietnam . In 1994 in Russia , there remained 28 bases and military objects in Moldova , Crimea , Georgia , Armenia , Kazakhstan and Tadzhikistan . By 2004 their number was reduced to 25. Over the past few years, Russia has been deprived of its own bases and objects in Georgia , and also two RLS-s in Ukraine (in Mukachevo and Sevastopol )..

The US has largest military budget in the world.. According to the Center for Arms Conrol and Non-Proliferation, US military spending is practically equal to that of the military spending of all the remaining countries of the world together taken. In 2009, US military spending will amount to 487.7 billion dollars. Together with additional spending on operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, and also those not passing through the US defence department, the Pentagon budget has doubled since 2001 (that year, it amounted to 304.8 billion dollars) and will amount to 623 billion dollars.

According to the Сenter for Strategic and International Studies, the top ten biggest military budgets besides the USA are: China ($65 billion), Russia ($50 billion), France ($45 billion), Britain ($42.8 billion), Japan ($41.75 billion), Germany ($35.1 billion), Italy ($28.2 billion), South Korea ($21.1 billion) and India ($19 billion).

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) cites presently a few facts. The world total military expenditure in 2007 amounted to 1 trillion 339 billion dollars, out of which 547 billion dollars was used by the USA on military spending. Further, Britain spent 59.7 billion dollars, China- 58.3 billion, France, 53.6 billion, Japan , 43.6 billion, Germany , 36.9 billion, Russia , 35.4 billion. These countries export their own arms to countries of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and South America . These countries are followed by Saudi Arabia , 33..8 billion, Italy , 33.1 billion, India , 24,2 billion).

According to data by the Department for outside political party investigations of the US Congress, in 2006, the US sold 10 billion 200 million dollars worth of arms to countries of the third world, which amounts to 35% of supplies of arms of the world. France , Germany and Italy are also major suppliers of weapons. The main buyers of arms in 2006 were Pakistan , India and China . Saudi Arabia and Venezuela followed. According to the data of SIPRI, the world’s major arms buyers are Israel , Saudi Arabia and OAE.

This same institute in its report also adds that the total number of nuclear warheads of the USA , Russia , France , Britain and China by the start of 2007 amounted to 26 thousand units. Theses 5 powers are officially recognized as nuclear powers. Other well-known nuclear powers, that is, powers in possession of nuclear weapons are India , Pakistan and Israel . According to SIPRI data, the above listed 8 nuclear states have such weapons at their disposal (that is, in activated mode, in a state of quick readiness) numbering about 11530 nuclear warheads in the form of missile warheads and aviation bombs. Out of them, 90% of these weapons belong to the USA and Russia .

According to the opinion of experts, Israel possesses up to 200 nuclear devices. This does worry concern the USA for some reason. It does not worry the USA that Israel spends the most money on the military in the world per-capita of population. According to the Washington Profile agency, they were compared: Israel - $ 1551 per/year, the USA - $ 1419 per/year, Saudi Arabia - $ 789, Britain $ 627, France - $ 583, Russia - $ 91.06.

But this does not worry the USA because Israel is their strategic ally, created a nuclear weapon and without complaints and more so, no sanctions by the UN Security Council have been used. Israel has occupied the territory of Palestine , left several million Palestinian inhabitants without homes, and carrying out a policy of genocide in relation to the Arab population of the Palestine . And they are getting away with all of this.

And then there is the DPRK modernizing its own defence potential and creating a nuclear missile, in order to defend itself from the endless blackmail from the USA and the threat from Japan, but is not allowed to. And it is not allowed to because the DPRK is a socialist country and is carrying on its own independent internal and foreign policy which US imperialism does not like. Ever present is that same policy of double standards, a policy under which rules not international right, but the right of the mighty.

According to calculation of the Heritage Foundation research centre, during the years of the cold war, the US armed forces took part in about 50 military operations and conflicts. During the 17 years since the end of the cold war, the US armed forces have taken part in almost 100 military operations and armed conflicts. Look at the bandit style attacks on Yugoslavia , Afghanistan and Iraq .

US arbitrariness in the world is enabling the growth of militarism on the international arena. The military-industrial complex of the USA , having tested new types of weapons and a new generation of bombs in the Afghan and Iraqi conflicts, and significantly activated the production of weapons.

According to the SIPRI, 63% of the first 100 companies on the production of arms across the world are found in the USA and Western Europe . In 2006, the volume of their supplies amounted to 292 billion 300 million dollars, and the share of US companies in this was 41%, with Europe ’s share amounting to 34%. And the top ten biggest weapons producing companies in the world are mainly American (6 companies) including: Boeing, Lockheed Martin (both US companies), BEA Systems (Britain), Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, General Dynamics (all U.S.), EADS (Inter-state European concern), L-3 Communications (USA), Finmeccanica (Italy) and Thales (France).

Thus, we can see who is interested in an arms race, the further militarization of international relations and provoking more and more new conflicts around the world.

Now, onto the peace-loving initiatives of Barak Obama.

The US president made a proposal towards further reductions in strategic offensive weapons. At the first meeting of presidents of the USA and Russia which took place on 1 April in London on the eve of the G-20 summit, a joint statement was made , in which the parties in particular stated their intentions for their countries to achieve a substantial reduction in strategic offensive weapons (START) and adopted a decision about the start of inter-governmental talks in order to prepare a document on reduction of strategic arms by December.

What does a significant reduction of nuclear potential of Russia mean in practice, jointly with the USA , even if one supposes the USA will honestly fulfill the conditions of an agreement (which has never been seen)? Russia is surrounded from all sides by US-NATO troops and military bases, and Russia’s only restraining factor remained and remains to this day its nuclear weapons, nuclear potential, inherited from the USSR, although it has lost a significant amount of its might due to moral and physical wear and its aging.

But under a treaty on reducing strategic offensive weapons, do not fall medium range weapons, winged missiles, medium range bombers and other operative-tactical weapons.

As is well-known from the speeches and declarations by Obama, he intends to withdraw US troops out of Iraq and concentrate all attention to Afghanistan , in the struggle against “terrorism and drug trafficking”. But all of this is no more than verbal disguise, a verbal camouflage for the true aims of the USA . The United States intend in perspective of the numbers involved, together with allies to raise a military contingent in Afghanistan to 200 thousand. And also, most importantly, to locate on the airfields and former Soviet military bases, medium range missiles aimed towards, firstly, Russia and China . Considering that the height of the Afghan plateau is on average 2000 metres above sea level, these missiles will freely reach Moscow , St-Petersburg, the industrial centres and military objects in the Urals and Siberia . To go ahead and reduce strategic weapons proposed by Barak Obama is for Russia , tantamount to suicide.

The peace-loving talk and statements by US president Barak Obama are only a smoke-screen for hiding the expansionist plans of US imperialism and its military-industrial complex in the struggle for world domination. We, Bolsheviks see the exposing of the aggressive plans of US imperialism as our most important task.
