Answer of Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs of DPRK

Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) gave the following answer to the question put by KCNA on February 28, as the U.S. piles up sanctions and pressure against Russia with the Ukrainian crisis as a momentum.

As it became known, the situation of Ukraine is now focusing the attention of the international society.

The root cause of the Ukraine crisis totally lies in the hegemonic policy of the U.S. and the West which indulge themselves in high-handedness and arbitrariness towards other countries.

The U.S. and the West, in defiance of Russia's reasonable and just demand to provide it with legal guarantee for security, have systematically undermined the security environment of Europe by becoming more blatant in their attempts to deploy attack weapon system while defiantly pursuing NATO's eastward expansion.

The U.S and the West, having devastated Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, are mouthing phrases about "respect for sovereignty" and "territorial integrity" over the Ukrainian situation which was detonated by themselves. That does not stand to reason at all.

The greatest danger the world faces now is high-handedness and arbitrariness by the U.S. and its followers that are shaking international peace and stability at the basis.

The reality proves positive once again that peace would never settle on the world at any time as long as there remains the unilateral and double-dealing policy of the U.S. which threatens peace and security of the sovereign state. -0-

  The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK) ,  the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  (BGSJI), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP)issued the following joint statement  on the 76th anniversary of the proclamation of the Law on Agrarian Reform in People's Korea;  

                          

 On the  5th of March  76 years ago  the  Provisional People's Committee of North Korea proclaimed the law of Agrarian Reform .The law confiscated without compensation the land of landlords with more than 5 hectares of land and distributed it free of charge to landless and land-short farmers. It was probably one of the most radical, revolutionary and thorough going land reform ever carried out in history .It was radically different to land reforms carried out in other countries.

   The Agrarian Reform Law smashed the chains of ossified feudalism which had existed for centuries. It freed the farmers from  the exploitation and oppression of the cruel landlords and made their masters of the land . Indeed more than mere masters of the land , it made them masters of their own fate and masters of the country.
The Agrarian Reform Law broke the fetters on the rural productive forces and led to a big upsurge in agricultural production. It marked a fundamental and irreversible redistribution of wealth and power in the northern part of Korea . Thanks to the Agrarian Reform Law and later measures People's Korea is one of the most egalitarian societies in the world .
   Since the enactment of the Agrarian Reform Law  the socialist agricultural working people have triumphantly marched along the road of Juche-oriented agricultural development.

 
  We are sure that greater successes will be made in the future.We applaud the 76th anniversary of  the Agrarian Reform Law.

   The March 1st popular uprising of the Korean people was a heroic act of mass resistance to the barbaric imperialist colonial rule of Japan . It was the result of the bitter resentment of the Korean people towards imperialist Japan which had annexed Korea some 9 years before in 1910 after long coveting the land of Korea and planning to seize it by hook or by crook. The March 1st popular uprising was a just uprising against oppression and exploitation by Japanese imperialism.
  The great leader President KIM IL SUNG wrote in his reminiscences  "With the Century " that
"Through the March First Popular Uprising the Korean people demonstrated to the whole world that ours are a people with a strong spirit of independence who do not want to live as the slaves of others and that they are a people with indomitable stamina and ardent patriotism who fear no sacrifice in order to regain their country"
    The reactionary Japanese imperialists brutally suppressed the  uprising by force killing many innocent people. A total of 7 500  people were killed, 46 900 arrested and jailed and 15 900 wounded. This shows the gruesome barbarity of the samurai wielding bloodthirsty Japanese imperialists.
                                                    

     Japan has never apologized for its crimes nor has it paid reparations to the Korean people. Instead top Japanese politicians visit the shrine of the war criminals. Today Japan is the shock brigade of
US imperialism in Asia. Japan is being encouraged by the US to see itself as a regional power(not that Japanese militarism needs much encouragement)  Japanese imperialism is planning to make a comeback in Korea. It has laid claims to Tok Islet in south Korea. Japan also dominates the south Korean economy and jointly exploits south Korea with US imperialism . Japan pursues an extremely hostile policy towards the DPRK. Japan  commits acts of terrorism against Korean residents in Japan and is denying them the right to education.
      Although the March 1st popular uprising was brutally suppressed by the Japanese imperialists the independent spirit of the heroic up-risers is alive . Today that spirit of independence is represented by the Juche idea and the anti-imperialist Democratic People's Republic of Korea led by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN , outstanding anti-imperialist leader of our epoch. South Korea lacks independence and the spirit of  Juche.  .True to the spirit of the March 1st Uprisers south Korea must become totally  independent and throw off all shackles.
    Our organisations urge  that Japan should apologise to the Korean people and compensate them for its crimes . Moreover Japan should take its hands off Korea and keep out ! Forward to a totally independent reunified Korea free from the domination of outside forces,.

Speech by KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson to the KFA UK regional meeting in Liverpool 'Defend People's Korea and the current situation on the Korean Peninsula 24.02.2022

.

It is great to be back in the City of Liverpool  . The last time we held a meeting in Liverpool was November 2017 , which was about  four and half years ago . A lot of things have happened since then . There have been a number of attempts to destroy the Korean Friendship Association but we are still here , Defending People’s Korea 24/7 . In fact KFA is expanding rapidly , in the last 18 months we have opened new branches in Finland , Norway , Kenya , Nepal  and Bulgaria as well as establishing our branches in Poland and Germany . In November last year we held a successful KFA International meeting in Barcelona , Spain  and in 2020 KFA celebrated its 20th anniversary .

The main theme of this meeting is Defending People’s Korea and the situation on the Korean peninsula .As I have argued in my book ‘ In Defence of Juche Korea ‘ and other writings , the DPRK is one of the most unjustly vilified and demonised countries in the whole world .

Propaganda against the DPRK is on an industrial scale . It comes from different sides  , not just the establishment, the Right and the mainstream media but also some on the so-called “Left ‘ and even the ultra left . A lot of propaganda against the DPRK is rooted in orientalism , Euro-centrism and chauvinism as well being motivated by a hatred of the socialist system of the DPRK . At the moment the DPRK has been taken out of the news by the mainstream media partly due to the Ukraine crisis but also because to the elite the DPRK is a policy failure ; all their tactics against the DPRK have failed ; whether it is sanctions , the threat of force and military pressure and even Trump’s high stakes diplomacy . The mainstream media do not like to talk about failures , only success so the DPRK has been taken out of the news .Of course anti-DPRK propaganda is still there ,it is as if it were still playing in the background . So-called specialist websites such as NKNews , which has now been proven to be funded by among others the US Army Pacific Command , the US Dept of Defence , the Japanese Foreign Ministry and south Korea Unification ministry , play a big role in publishing fake news about the DPRK . Just look at all the NKNews stories that have been proved wrong in the last year and the other day even the Cambodian Foreign Ministry refuted an NKNews story .

 First , I would like to talk about Covid 19 , the DPRK and south Korea .

Covid 19 has increased more than  100 times in south Korea since last Autumn . Probably the number of Covid 19 cases in south Korea will reach 3 million or more by the end of spring. At the same time People's Korea has Zero Covid 19 cases and Zero Covid 19 deaths .Yet the mainstream media are completely silent on this because they do not want people to know the truth about south Korea . The mainstream media like to portray south Korea is a liberal human rights paradise ( of course some mainstream media  journalists are paid by south Korea to do PR for them ) . In reality, south Korea is a puppet of the US and a miserable colony where people live in poverty and all the wealth is monopolised by 1 per cent of the population. It is fascist regime where communist and leftist thoughts are banned  by law .

   What the Covid 19 figures show is that south Korea is the failed state on the Korean peninsula and that Juche-based socialism is superior to south Korean puppet capitalism.

 It is highly likely that south Korea is covering the death toll from Covid 19 , it is probably much higher and obviously does not include the homeless and destitute who cannot afford to go to hospital !

the DPRK took early measures against Covid 19 such as closing the border in January before even the WHO declared Covid 19 a pandemic . Other measures included extending school holidays , getting people to wear masks , rigorous disinfection of  public areas , medical checkups for people , health education and quarantining foreigners within the borders of the DPRK. Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , a true people's leader , convened a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on the 29th of February 2020  at which it discussed "  taking nationwide top-class anti-epidemic steps in a more thorough-going way and strictly putting them into practice in order to cope with the viral epidemic spreading rapidly around the world".   and also   "measures to deter the influx and spread of the infectious disease in a scientific, preemptive and lockdown way." . At the same time respected Marshal KIM JONG UN had officials guilty of bureaucratic behaviour removed from office .This contrasts with the incompetence of many leaders in the Western  world who failed to take any decisive measures to stop the situation getting out of control .

The DPRK has rejected the offers of vaccines , which are the fake aid of imperialism aimed at undermining  socialism and making the DPRK dependent on imperialism .

Since I last came to Liverpool , many events have taken place in the DPRK such as the successful celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK in September 2018 ( which I and other KFA members from the UK attended in person )   and the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers’ Party of Korea in October 2020 . Both events were marked by many colourful functions and military parades which demonstrated the unbreakable unity of the people around the Party and the leader. These were wonderful events

In January 2021 , the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea , was held , further demonstrating the unity of the people around the party .It was significant that the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea and the military parade to celebrate it were held at a time when the disunity and disharmony of the United States was evident when Trump supporters rioted .

The 8th Congress of the WPK was a congress of unity .It elected Marshal KIM JONG UN as its general secretary which was a powerful demonstration of single-hearted unity .

  Marshal KIM JONG UN gave a very detailed and comprehensive report to the Congress which highlighted the great successes of the years since the 7th Congress of the WPK in 2016 but at the same time expressed honest criticisms of shortcomings that have occurred and put forward ways of rectifying and remedying these shortcomings.

  Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN's report showed that there are no illusions in the WPK  about imperialism . He correctly pointed out that the Party in its international work should "wage offensive diplomacy to smash the attempts of the hostile forces to violate our sovereignty and defend our state's rights to normal development.

It should orient external political activities with the main emphasis put on prevailing over and subjugating the US, the fundamental obstacle to the development of our revolution and our principal enemy."

  At the same time Marshal KIM JONG UN called for the national defence forces of the DPRK to be put onto a higher level.

 The Congress dealt a blow to those who wanted to see People's Korea   'open up ' and reform ' . Instead self-reliance will be the main basis of economic strategy . The DPRK will further reduce imports  ..The leading  role and control of the state in the commercial sector will be increased. Respected Marshal

KIM JONG UN stressed that 'The independent, planned and people-oriented characters of the national economy should be strengthened. To this end, it is necessary to raise the functions of the state that organizes economic affairs, and ensure unified management of products on the principle of making sure that the fruition of the economic activities is channelled into promoting the well-being of the people."

Under the programme unveiled at the 8th Congress of the WPK people's living standards will be improved. More housing will be built . Also public transport and public health will  be further improved.

Since the holding of the congress the construction of new housing in Pyongyang and other parts of the country has been initiated .  Recently , the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 10,000 new flats in the Hwasong area of Pyongyang was held and also the construction of a new Greenhouse farm on the west coast of the country .

It should also be mentioned the 80th anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL on the 16th of February  was celebrated grandly with many events  . This time many of them centred on Samjiyon City in the far north of the DPRK , giving lie to the myth that only Pyongyang city is developed and anywhere else in the DPRK is not worth mentioning . The National Meeting was held in Samjiyon along with a spectacular firework display .

What has hit the news about the DPRK recently is that a number of missile tests have been carried out . There is nothing unusual or provocative about these . The missile tests were part of a plan to increase the national defence capabilities of the DPRK that was laid down at the 8th Congress of the Workers Party of Korea in January 2021.

Despite the fact that the DPRK's missile test is purely self-defensive and threatens no one , the US has acted in a high-handed , hostile , mean and provocative manner by making threats against People's Korea including reference to the US marionette , the UN Security Council and even the threat of so-called 'independent sanctions ' against the DPRK . The US imposed sanctions on the DPRK last December and has recently sanctioned a number of DPRK citizens . The US even placed sanctions on the famous April 26 Animation Studio of the DPRK !.

The  Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers ' Party of Korea (WPK ) held a meeting in Pyongyang under the guidance of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  at the end of January .

  The meeting analysed the worsening situation around the Korean peninsula caused by the hostile policy of the US .The US and south Korea have conducted military exercises against the DPRK and now a US nuclear submarine is lurking in the waters of the Pacific .

  Clearly the US has not abandoned its hostile intent , its intent to destroy the socialist system of the DPRK and colonise the northern part of Korea and seize its valuable raw materials .

  So the meeting decided to  prepare a long-term confrontation with the US and to restart temporarily suspended activities in order to increase national defence capability .

  Probably this means at some point ICBM tests will be resumed and even possibly a nuclear test . Also anti-US slogans will possibly reappear.

The DPRK did everything to achieve a peaceful settlement with the USA but it just was not possible . Several summits were held with the then US president Trump but his words were not matched by actions . Only history can tell whether Trump was deliberately insincere and dishonest and tried to trick the DPRK or whether he  made promises that he was unable to keep , a prisoner of the US capitalist military industrial complex .

  The DPRK took the step of negotiating with the US in order to avoid a war on the Korean peninsula which seemed inevitable . It did so not out of weakness or a liking for the USA but because it did not want to be blamed for a destructive war that could have turned into a world war . Moreover it gave the DPRK time to focus on economic construction and improving people's living standards.

 That said, the DPRK was never fooled by the US . It rejected the so-called 'Libyan Model ' of unilateral disarmament .  Some friends of the DPRK felt unease at the DPRK-US summits and the mainstream media predicted the DPRK's unilateral disarmament and even that a McDonalds would open in Pyongyang ( no doubt to be staffed by the NKNews team !!! ) . However,4 years on , not a single DPRK ICBM or nuke has been dismantled  and there is no McDonalds in Pyongyang ! . The DPRK stood firm and did not capitalute .

 Juche and self-reliance are the basis of all the DPRK's great victories .

So I will conclude my speech by giving the reasons why you defend People’s Korea . ? The DPRK is the most independent nation on the earth that does not have foreign troops stationed on its soil and also does not send its troops to fight in other countries. The DPRK is not a member of the World Bank , IMF or WTO .There are no foreign banks in Pyongyang nor McDonalds , KFC or the like.

The DPRK is a country that can say and do what it likes without looking over its shoulder at others. The DPRK in carrying out ICBM and nuclear tests has not only defied the US and the UN Security Council but also the EU , Japan and significantly the big power chauvinists Russia and China . John Major, the former British prime minister even admitted that the DPRK , presumably unlike the UK, has ‘undiluted sovereignty’.

It is a society free from conflict and division.  A society free from crime and terrorism.

The DPRK is a genuine socialist country. Despite the raging winds of  anti-socialism, the new wave of post-modernist anti-communism and the setbacks that have occurred, the DPRK is maintaining socialist principles. Moreover despite 60 years of sanctions and blockade plus natural disasters the DPRK is implementing popular welfare policies such as free education, free housing, free medical care without taking a penny from its citizens in tax.

I hope you will join us in KFA in defending People’s Korea and get out there and spread the message.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Reply Message to Syrian President

Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a reply message to Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Feb. 25.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in the message expressed deep thanks to the Syrian president for having extended warm congratulations and best wishes to him on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

He expressed belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Syria provided in the common struggle for independence against imperialism will as ever grow stronger in line with the noble will of the preceding leaders and the desire of peoples of the two countries. -0-

NADA and Academy of Defence Science Conduct Important Test for Developing Reconnaissance Satellite

Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- The DPRK National Aerospace Development Administration (NADA) and the Academy of Defence Science conducted an important test on Sunday under the plan of developing a reconnaissance satellite.

The test helped the NADA and the Academy of Defence Science to confirm the characteristics and working accuracy of high definition photographing system, data transmission system and attitude control devices by conducting vertical and oblique photographing of a specific area on earth with cameras to be loaded on the reconnaissance satellite.

The test is of great significance in developing the reconnaissance satellite. -0-

2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Party Committees Opens Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Guides Conference

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- The 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) opened here on February 26 at a time when all the Party members and other people are ushering in a new amazing era of the prosperity of the country with great confidence in victory, true to the grand blueprint unrolled by the great Party Central Committee.

The conference, the second of its kind in the history of the WPK, serves as a significant occasion in accelerating the all-people general advance for bringing about the overall development of socialist construction by more firmly consolidating all the primary Party organizations into the combat ranks of loyalty and the vanguard units for carrying out the Party's policies, in which the Party's unified leadership system is thoroughly established, and by cementing the political and ideological position of our revolution in every way, in hearty response to the idea and spirit of the 8th Congress of the WPK.

The proud reality, in which the might of the single-minded unity and harmonious whole formed between the leader, Party and masses are being signally increased and great creation and changes made in all sectors of socialist construction despite the severe challenges and difficulties unprecedented in history, is brilliant fruition of the idea and line of the Party Central Committee, which has steadily enhanced the fighting efficiency of the primary Party organizations, the lower-echelon organizations and main combat units of the Party, on attaching importance to and strengthening the primary Party organizations.

The 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK is to analyze and review the achievements and experience, mistakes and their causes in the work of the primary Party organizations in the period after the First Conference of Chairpersons of the Primary Committees of the Workers' Party of Korea and to discuss the measures for further improving and strengthening the work of the primary Party organizations, as required by our revolution which entered a new period of great upsurge and turn.

Attending the conference were secretaries of the primary Party committees and sub-primary Party committees of factories, enterprises and cooperative farms who distinguished themselves in carrying out the Party's policies, secretaries of the primary Party committees of ministries, national institutions and guiding organs at provincial, city and county levels, senior officials of the provincial, city and county Party committees and other Party committees playing the same function, and officials of the Party Central Committee.

All the participants in the conference were full of profound reverence for and trust in the Party Central Committee which has guided the work for enhancing the fighting efficiency of the lower-echelon Party organizations, while prioritizing the work for strengthening the primary Party organizations, the political staffs of relevant units in building the Juche-oriented revolutionary party and accomplishing the cause of socialist construction.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, came out to the platform to guide the conference.

The moment, all the participants greeted him with thunderous cheers of "Hurrah!" as a token of their deep reverence for the respected General Secretary of the WPK who has led to victory and glory the sacred cause of turning the country into an ideal socialist country and the people's paradise, while demonstrating to the world the dignity and prestige of the great WPK with his outstanding ideological and theoretical wisdom and energetic leadership.

The platform was taken by Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Il Hwan, Kim Jae Ryong, O Il Jong, Kim Yong Hwan, Ju Chang Il and other senior officials of the WPK Central Committee, the provincial Party committees and the Party committees that perform the same function.

The respected General Secretary made an opening address.

The participants hardly repressed their excitement, looking up to the respected General Secretary who extended warm militant greeting to the secretaries of all the primary Party committees, highly praising them for making tangible contributions to the development of the Party and the vigorous advance of socialist construction at lower-echelon Party organizations over the past five years.

When the respected General Secretary declared the 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK open, the national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played solemnly.

He said that the 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK is being held at a historic time when the vigorous struggle is being waged for the prosperity and development of our great country and the people's well-being with great courage and sky-high spirit along the path of victory indicated by the 8th Congress of the WPK and the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, the important events of particular note in the history of Juche revolution.

The respected General Secretary ushered in a new heyday of building basic Party organizations with his outstanding idea and energetic leadership, regarding it as fundamentals for developing the whole Party to strengthen the primary Party organizations, he noted.

The original ideas and theories of the respected General Secretary, who comprehensively clarified the position and duty of the primary Party committees and the tasks and ways for strengthening them at the 1st Conference of Chairpersons of Primary Party Committees, the first of its kind in the history of our Party, and other major Party meetings, serve as the important guidelines to be adhered to in the Party building and in innovating the work of the primary Party committees, he stressed.

He recalled that the respected General Secretary wisely led the primary Party committees to focus their work on thoroughly implementing the Party lines and policies and major revolutionary tasks by giving full play to the spiritual strength of the masses.

The reporter recalled that during his field guidance, the respected General Secretary underlined the need for their primary Party committees to intensify the education in the leadership exploits of the Party and the five-point education, properly guide the organizational and ideological life of Party members, ensure the trinity and make devoted service for the people run through the Party work. The respected General Secretary also underlined the need to enhance the role of ri Party committees so as to train agricultural workers to be those in charge of the rural revolution and ardent patriots, he added.

During his guidance to the revolution, the respected General Secretary called beside him secretaries of primary Party committees, reposed great trust in them by calling them political commissars of main combat units for the implementation of the Party policies, taught them the principle and ways of the Party work and the best methods of mobilizing the spiritual strength of the masses, he stressed, adding that thanks to the meticulous care of the great teacher, secretaries of primary Party committees have fulfilled their responsibilities.

The primary Party organizations are displaying their might as the vanguard of loyalty in which the iron discipline of moving as one under the unified leadership of the Party Central Committee has been established, and as the organization thoroughly implementing the politics based on the people-first principle by responsibly taking care of the destiny and life of people and as the main fighting sub-units for devotedly implementing the lines and policies of the Party, he noted, terming it invaluable fruition of the outstanding idea and leadership of the respected General Secretary.

Carrying the unanimous minds of the participants in the conference and the secretaries of all the primary Party committees, the reporter extended the highest glory and warmest greetings to Kim Jong Un, the great leader of our Party and revolution who is further strengthening the WPK into an ever-victorious guiding force and energetically leading the struggle for a fresh victory in socialist construction.

The report referred to the successes and experience gained in the struggle for carrying out the militant tasks set forth at the First Conference of Chairpersons of Primary Party Committees.

The report also cited in detail the achievements made by the primary Party organizations in the course of focusing the Party work on devotedly defending and thoroughly establishing the unified leadership system of the Party Central Committee, successfully implementing the strategic plans of the Party Central Committee and preparing themselves to be the vanguard of loyalty thinking and acting, true to the idea and will of the leader only.

The report pointed out that a revolutionary climate of thoroughly implementing Party decisions without fail has been established in primary Party committees.

The report stressed that the course of adopting Party decisions in all the primary party committees has turned into the course of mobilizing the ideological power, mapping out plans and assigning tasks and the trait of implementing Party decisions unconditionally, thoroughly and correctly has been fully displayed with the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 7th Party Central Committee and the 8th Party Congress as watersheds.

The reporter referred to the valuable successes the primary Party organizations made in establishing firm links based on blood ties between a broad spectrum of people and the Party as a result of their efforts for applying the spirit of devoted service for the people to the practice of the Party work.

The past five-year struggle proves that only when the primary Party organizations and the secretaries of the primary Party committees remain true to the idea and leadership of the leader, thoroughly implement the Party's decision without fail and establish the traits of making devoted service for the people as a Party climate, the political and ideological position of our Party and revolution can be further consolidated and the socialist cause be vigorously advanced in any trials and difficulties, the reporter said.

The report reviewed the shortcomings in the work of some primary Party organizations which failed to fulfill the urgent requirements of the Party and the revolution.

Strictly analyzed and criticized were a series of mistakes made by primary Party organizations, including the issue of failing to regard the work for establishing the unified leadership system of the Party Central Committee as the lifeline of the Party work and strongly push forward it, the issue of failing to build up the ranks of cadres and the Party ranks into an elite force and efficiently conduct the work for rallying the broad masses behind the Party and the issue of impeding the implementation of the Party policies by failing to properly provide the Party's guidance over the fulfillment of the main revolutionary tasks in the fields and units in their charge.

Blaming secretaries of the primary Party committees for conducting the work without a main emphasis, forgetful of the trust and expectation of the Party which put forward them as officials responsible for the Party organizations of their units, the reporter termed it the main causes of shortcomings revealed in the work of primary Party organizations in the past. The reporter went on:

The reality shows that if the secretaries of the primary Party committees fail to enhance their political awareness and executive faculty and prepare themselves to be perfect in all aspects, including working methods and working manner, it is impossible to implement the idea of the Party Central Committee giving importance to the primary Party committees and make a substantial change and improvement in the work of their units.

The secretaries of primary Party committees should sternly review the past 5-year work and bring about a radical turn in the work of the primary Party committees, as required by the noble intention of the Party Central Committee and the developing revolution.

Then the reporter detailed the tasks to be fulfilled in strengthening the primary Party organizations into the vanguard units sharing the idea and intention with the Party Central Committee and acting in concert with it, and into the political staffs greatly encouraging their units to implement the decisions of the Party Congress.

He also underlined the need for the primary Party organizations to firmly unite the revolutionary ranks as an integral whole by developing the work for establishing the monolithic leadership system of the Party Central Committee onto a new high stage.

He underscored the need to wage an intensive ideological offensive for arming officials, Party members and other working people with the revolutionary idea of the respected General Secretary and to hold fast to championing and glorifying the revolutionary relics and leadership exploits of leaders as a main task of the work of primary Party committees.

He called for strengthening the ranks of party cell secretaries and making scrupulous arrangements for turning all the Party cells into healthy and viable ones closely knitted in the bonds of kinship.

He said it is necessary to do work with the masses in a creative and active way in consideration of individual characters and steer the youth league and other working people's organizations to focus efforts on their internal work so as to make the officials and employees of each unit patriotic socialist workers.

He called for thoroughly carrying out fighting tasks set forth by the Party by further intensifying policy-oriented guidance and political guidance to ensure that administrative and economic work is only conducted as thought and intended by the Party Central Committee.

He stressed the need to firmly consolidate the revolutionary and class position of rural areas and achieve the radical development of agricultural productive forces and the fundamental change of rural living environment by increasing the function and role of the rural ri Party committees in every way and stepping up the three revolutions - ideological, technical and cultural - so as to creditably realize the Party's programme of socialist rural construction.

He called on the primary Party organizations within the entire Party to regard it as an important requirement for boosting the fighting efficiency of the Party and a critical matter linked with the destiny of the socialist cause to break with formalism and an inclination towards administrative aspects, the worst anathema to Party work and to wage an intensive struggle against them.

He stressed that all the secretaries of primary Party committees will have to bear in mind the noble intention of the respected General Secretary and bring about new change in their work so as to make a positive contribution to strengthening the Party and achieving the overall development of socialist construction.

Speakers analyzed and reviewed in depth the achievements and experience gained by primary Party organizations for the past period.

The participants were deeply moved by the experience of the primary Party committees of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum and the Sinpho Fishery Station which firmly prepared their employees to be genuine loyalists and ardent revolutionaries reliably defending their honorable posts of adding luster to the revolutionary history of the great leaders, and to be standard bearers for implementing the Party's policies on fishery by intensifying the education in loyalty among them, regarding it as the very lifeline.

Introduced were the experience gained by the primary Party committee of the Sangwon Limestone Mine of the Sangwon Cement Complex which has boosted the limestone production by steadily increasing the power of ideology and collectivism, and the experience of the primary Party committee of the ammonium nitrate shop of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex which performed great miracles and innovations in implementing the Party's policies in the course of winning the title of the Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag, deeming the mass-based movement a powerful means.

The participants were greatly touched by the experience of the secretaries of the primary Party committees who shared joy and sorrow with their employees at the production sites with the traits and qualifications befitting frontline political workers, always paying deep attention to their family life and solving problems with the Party's method and the political method.

Speeches seriously criticized and reviewed the mistakes some primary Party organizations made by failing to push ahead with the work for implementing the Party's policies as their primary task and disturbing the development of the units in their charge by working without the Party principle.

Speakers expressed their resolution to wage a dynamic struggle for bringing about the comprehensive development of socialist construction by steadily intensifying the work for transforming the primary Party committees into elite ones strong in the organizing ability, fighting efficiency and executive faculty, true to the noble intention of the respected General Secretary.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Makes Opening Address at 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of WPK

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), made an opening address at the 2nd Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on February 26.

First, Kim Jong Un expressed his pleasure to personally extend his gratitude to the secretaries of primary committees who have taken much trouble for the Party and the state in the basic Party organizations than others over the last 5 years since the gathering of secretaries of primary committees of the WPK which was the first in the history of the Party.

He said that the main secret of our Party's overcoming unprecedented challenges and ordeals and leading the revolution in a firm and correct way in recent years can be ascribed to the fact that the secretaries of primary committees discharged their duties well in the basic organizations of the Party. He extended warm greetings to the secretaries of the primary committees who took part in the conference with the pride of making a positive contribution to the development of the Party and the vigorous advance of the socialist construction, and all other secretaries of the primary committees of the entire Party who strive to implement the decisions made at the Party Congress and the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee, being in charge of the basic fighting units implementing the Party's policies.

He mentioned the purpose of the Party Central Committee giving special importance to the conference.

It is stipulated that the conference of secretaries of the primary committees of the Party should be convened every 5 years in the Party rule, he said, adding that this is aimed to orientate all the activities of the primary committees of the Party towards the implementation of the fighting programme indicated by the Party Congress.

He also said that the work of the basic organizations of the Party should be often appraised and reviewed so as to thoroughly ensure unity in thinking and action of the entire Party, adding that this fully conforms with the idea of attaching importance to developing the basic organizations of the Party, the line of strengthening the entire Party and the requirements of the Juche-oriented Party building and activities.

The decisions made at the 8th Party Congress are immediate strategy and tactics to put the economy of the country and the people's living standard on a stable orbit and to fully display our state-first principle and people-first principle in all fabrics of social life and a supreme task that has to be achieved without fail for the future destiny of our revolution, he noted.

And then he emphasized that whether these responsible and important tasks of the times are correctly implemented or not entirely depends on the role of the Party organizations, especially, the role of the organizations of primary committees of the WPK.

Saying that if all the Party organizations ranging from the Party Central Committee to the lower-echelon organizations achieve unity in thinking and action and vigorously carry on the struggle as one, there would be nothing impossible, he added that this is clearly proved by the course of the last year's struggle in which the great victory was won in the unprecedented severe environments.

Noting that though we faced graver challenge and difficulty than those in the previous period, clear and positive changes could be made in all fields as all the Party organizations were awakened and aroused last year, he highly appreciated that an important factor that led to the desired result was especially the role of the primary Party organizations which have conducted dynamic organizational and political work to unconditionally carry out the decisions and instructions of the Party Central Committee.

He referred to the fact that the Party Central Committee has prioritized the work of strengthening the primary Party organizations as one of the two tasks of strengthening the entire Party along with the work of strengthening Party cells, and has directed sustained great efforts to it.

Saying that it is the pride of our Party and key factor and secret of its invincibility that it has firm foundation and reliable lower-echelon organizations, he stressed that the basic Party organizations are not maintained and enhanced spontaneously and this work should continuously be deepened along with the advancing revolution and construction.

He referred to the fact that the guidance of the Party Central Committee over the work of the primary Party organizations became further detailed with the First Conference of Chairpersons of the Primary Committees of the Workers' Party of Korea as the starting point. He added that last year alone, the Party Central Committee availed itself of several opportunities, including the plenary meetings, to discuss with prudence the ways of improving the work of the primary Party organizations and gave assignments as part of the work to embolden the basic Party organizations in every way.

He cited the serious deviations of not meeting the requirement of the developing reality, though a lot of primary organizations of the Party underwent signal development and their position and role became further improved and activated. He stressed the need to share experience gained in improving work and learn a lesson from mistakes.

The important purpose of the conference is to review the past five-year work of the primary Party organizations from a critical stand and find a major way of improving and strengthening the work of the primary Party organizations, given the remarkably high requirement of the developing revolution so as to make it known to all the secretaries of all the primary Party organizations and arouse them once again.

Calling for all the participants to carry out a cool review of their units' work and actively learn from and share the experience and good methods of excellent primary Party organizations by attending the conference with high political awareness, consciousness and clear purposefulness, he underscored the need to make the conference an epochal occasion in boosting the organizing ability, fighting efficiency and activity of every primary Party organization and a turning point in raising the political and practical ability of the secretaries of primary Party organizations to a new height.

Report of KFA UK North West Meeting - Defend People’s Korea and the situation on the Korean peninsula 24.02.2022

                                                             

KFA UK held its first meeting in Liverpool for nearly five years on the 24th of February  at 1900 hours. Originally a KFA UK Liverpool meeting had been planned for March 2020 but got called off due to the Covid 19 Pandemic and the lockdown .

The meeting was held  in the Casa Bar (which was founded by Liverpool dockers) , a friendly and well run venue . Despite the cold and windy weather and attention being focussed on Ukraine , the meeting attracted interest with new people attending the meeting . People travelled from different parts of the north west to come to the meeting and all age groups were represented.

Peter , the representative of KFA UK in the north west, opened the meeting . He reminded people of the intense hostility by the US towards the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) which included an actual physical war against the DPRK which killed many people in the DPRK . He pointed out that the US has imposed sanctions in the DPRK .

Peter said that there is an intense and unending propaganda and disinformation campaign against the DPRK .

Dr Dermot Hudson , KFA UK Chairman  addressed the meeting saying in part “In fact KFA is expanding rapidly , in the last 18 months we have opened new branches in Finland , Norway , Kenya , Nepal  and Bulgaria as well as establishing our branches in Poland and Germany . In November last year we held a successful KFA International meeting in Barcelona , Spain  and in 2020 KFA celebrated its 20th anniversary …Propaganda against the DPRK is on an industrial scale . It comes from different sides  , not just the establishment, the Right and the mainstream media but also some on the so-called “Left ‘ and even the ultra left . A lot of propaganda against the DPRK is rooted in orientalism , Euro-centrism and chauvinism as well being motivated by a hatred of the socialist system of the DPRK . At the moment the DPRK has been taken out of the news by the mainstream media partly due to the Ukraine crisis but also because to the elite the DPRK is a policy failure ; all their tactics against the DPRK have failed ; whether it is sanctions , the threat of force and military pressure and even Trump’s high stakes diplomacy . The mainstream media do not like to talk about failures , only success so the DPRK has been taken out of the news …..The DPRK is a country that can say and do what it likes without looking over its shoulder at others. The DPRK in carrying out ICBM and nuclear tests has not only defied the US and the UN Security Council but also the EU , Japan and significantly the big power chauvinists Russia and China . John Major, the former British prime minister even admitted that the DPRK , presumably unlike the UK, has ‘undiluted sovereignty’.

It is a society free from conflict and division.  A society free from crime and terrorism.

The DPRK is a genuine socialist country. Despite the raging winds of  anti-socialism, the new wave of post-modernist anti-communism and the setbacks that have occurred, the DPRK is maintaining socialist principles. Moreover despite 60 years of sanctions and blockade plus natural disasters the DPRK is implementing popular welfare policies such as free education, free housing, free medical care without taking a penny from its citizens in tax.

The U.S. Should Not Shake International Peace and Stability at the Basis -Ministry of Foreign Affairs DPRK

The greatest danger the world is now faced with is high-handedness and arbitrariness of the United States and its vassal forces that are shaking international peace and stability at the basis.

The U.S. unilateral and unfair cold war mentality and its bloc-forming external policy make the structure of international relations be transformed into the one of a new cold war, and they strain politico-military situations with each passing day and continue to spawn new knotty problems in different parts of the world.

In retrospect, the outbreak of the two rounds of the World Wars which brought horrendous calamities and pains of loss originates from the greed of imperialism, and the wars, big and small, on earth in the last century are related, without exception, to the moves of the imperialists to interfere in the internal affairs of others.

In particular, the air raid conducted by NATO against Yugoslavia at the end of last century served as an occasion of bringing to light the extent of the U.S. and Western hypocrisy in their much-touted global peace and stability, territorial integrity and safeguarding of sovereignty as well as of exposing in all its nakedness who is the real destroyer of international peace and stability.

The Iraqi war, the Afghan War and other “color revolutions” which brought the tragedy of 21th century clearly substantiate the fact that the U.S. and the West would seek their policies of hegemony by fair means or foul.

The present international order is that it has become an immutable law that seeds of discord are sown in every region and country where the U.S. intervenes, and that the relations between the states deteriorate.

The root cause of the Ukrainian crisis also lies in the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the U.S. which has held on solely to the unilateral sanction and pressure while pursuing only global hegemony and military supremacy in disregard of the legitimate demand of Russia for its security.

It is not without reason that the international media and experts comment that the contributing factor to the Ukrainian crisis is the imbalance of power in Europe due to the unilateral expansion of NATO and its threat as well as the grave threat to the national security of Russia.

The U.S embellishes its own interference in internal affairs of others as “righteous” for peace and stability of the world, but it denounces for no good reason self-defensive measures taken by other countries to ensure their own national security as “injustice” and “provocation” – this is just the arrogance of the U.S. style and its double standard.

Gone are the days when the U.S. used to reign supreme.

The U.S., seeing through the trend of the present times, should no longer resort to high-handedness and arbitrariness that disturb international peace and stability.

Insanity of the invasion of the north   The situation of the Korean peninsula gets more and more instable with the passage of time, owing to the war drills against the north openly conducted by the US and risky provocation act of the south Korean military war maniac.   Days ago, AH-64E V6 Apache helicopters were deployed by the USFK in the US military bases both in Pyeongtaek and Gunsan. This is first time for the US to deploy Apache helicopter of the latest model outside its mainland. Peace meeting held   Members of 20 odd civic organizations held a peace meeting to issue a statement in denunciation of the sanction against the north, additional deployment of THAAD and reckless remark of preemptive strike, which can cause "the 2nd Korean war" on February 23. "Unification bridge" across the Imjin River near Panmunjom serves as a military facility and a checkpoint so civilians are strictly restricted in their actions, this is not a national bridge connected with independent and peaceful reunification, but an anti-reunification bridge that no one can cross over on, a chairman of this meeting gave vent to his feeling of bitterness.
