Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Has Historic Meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at Panmunjom

Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, had a historic meeting with President of the United States of America Donald Trump at Panmunjom on Sunday afternoon at the suggestion of Trump.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the state and the armed forces of the DPRK accepted the opinion of President Trump that he would like to meet Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un in the Demilitarized Zone during his June 29-30 visit to south Korea and went to the south side portion of Panmunjom to have a surprise meeting with him.

Kim Jong Un stepped out of the Phanmun Pavilion on Sunday afternoon and had a historic meeting with Donald Trump just before the demarcation line at Panmunjom amid the worldwide attention.

In 66 years since the Armistice Agreement in 1953 there happened such an amazing event of the top leaders of the DPRK and the U.S. exchanging historic handshakes at Panmunjom, place that had been known as the symbol of division.

Kim Jong Un exchanged compliments with Trump about meeting him after about 120 days and guided him toward the north side portion of Panmunjom.

The two leaders stepped toward just before the Phanmun Pavilion in the north side portion of Panmunjom where they held their hands again, leaving the historic moment of the sitting U.S. President setting his foot on the soil of the DPRK across the Military Demarcation Line for the first time in history.

They headed for the "House of Freedom" in the south side portion of Panmunjom, the venue of the talks, exchanging a pleasant chat.

Then there were a one-on-one chat and talks between the top leaders of the DPRK and the U.S.

They explained issues of easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, ending the inglorious relations between the two countries and making a dramatic turn and also issues of mutual concern and interest which become a stumbling block in solving those issues, and voiced full understanding and sympathy.

The top leaders of the two countries agreed to keep in close touch in the future, too, and resume and push forward productive dialogues for making a new breakthrough in the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and in the bilateral relations.

Kim Jong Un said that it was the good personal relations with President Trump that made such a dramatic meeting possible at just a one day's notice, noting that the relations would continue to produce good results unpredictable by others and work as a mysterious force overcoming manifold difficulties and obstacles in the future, too.

Present at the talks from the DPRK side was Ri Yong Ho, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, member of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and foreign minister, and from the opposite side U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo.

The top leaders of the two countries expressed great satisfaction over the results of the talks.

KCNA Commentary Blasts Japan's Invariable Ambition for Reinvasion

Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Japan has become all the more bigoted in its acts against the trend in the region.

Recently the Japanese government allowed the additional deployment of the U.S. RC-135S in a U.S. military base in Japan under the pretext of reinforced monitoring against "missile threats from north Korea". It is now mulling the independent possession of an early warning satellite.

This clearly points to Japan's invariable ambition for reinvasion.

The international community is speaking highly of the pro-active efforts made by the DPRK to turn around the situation on the Korean peninsula and the region inching close to a war to dialogue and reconciliation.

But the Japanese reactionaries have gone wretched enough to draw derision with their push for militarization, backed by a string of rhetoric about "threat". It is none other than Japan that harasses and destroys regional peace.

Japan that earned the ill fame of a defeated nation together with the end of the Second World War has long made desperate efforts for militarist revival with its old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" to avenge the defeat.

It has worked hard for the retrogressive revision of the "Pacifist Constitution that deters it from advance to a war state and for arms buildup, citing "change in security environment due to threats from north Korea" and "a prerequisite to tightened Japan-U.S. alliance". It, on the other hand, has kept to the path of overseas military expansion under the signboard of "international contribution", "active pacifism" and "protection of lives and living of people".

What matters is that this dangerous move has feigned indifference to the advent of the trend of peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region.

At the end of last year, the Japanese politicians in their "defence program guidelines" and "mid-term defence capability buildup outline" described the DPRK as "crucial and urgent threat", openly revealing their aim to expand the sphere of military operation of the "Self-defence Forces" to space, cyber space.

Accordingly, Japan's military spending has now reached an all-time high of 5 257.4 billion¥ and foreign arms and hardware find their unrestricted way to Japan, and getting into full swing are the moves for the organization of new units and development of sophisticated weapons for the buildup of "multi-faceted integrated defence capabilities".

The independent development of the earlier warning satellite recently announced by the government of the island country is just an extension of the moves.

The situation proves that the descendents of Samurais can never change their ambition for reinvasion and their nature as the harasser of peace.

It is truly foolhardy for the Japanese reactionaries to get intent on such thoughtless moves, with blind eyes turned to the prestige of the DPRK and the trend of the times.

Such wild act will only trigger off stronger rebuff from the world people loving peace and justice, and bring another defeat.

If Japan has an iota of perception, it will clearly see without the help of the earlier warning satellite the "missiles" blasting off toward it from different parts of the world, carrying hatred, curse and resentment against it. -0-

KCNA Commentary Urges U.S., S. Korean Authorities to Stop Planned Joint Military Exercises

Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the south Korean authorities have become intent on the preparations for joint military exercises Alliance 19-2 which they agreed to hold this coming August.

In April they made a tentative decision to hold Alliance 19-2 from August 11 to 20 to replace Ulji Freedom Guardian.

Now they build up the public opinion to justify the exercises after making them an established one.

As part of the moves, the acting U.S. Defense secretary during his recent visit to south Korea had talks with the south Korean Defense minister where he announced to go ahead with Alliance 19-2 as scheduled, claiming "south Korea and the U.S. are ready to counter any act of the north disturbing stability."

This indicates their sinister intention to proceed with the exercises in defiance of the repeated warnings from the DPRK. This, therefore, amounts to a wanton challenge to the desire and expectation of all the Koreans and the international community for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and an act to create the atmosphere of confrontation and danger of war again.

Now the entire Korean nation and the international community earnestly hope that durable and lasting peace would settle on the peninsula through the thorough implementation of the historic Singapore DPRK-U.S. joint statement, north-south declarations and the north-south agreement in military field.

The U.S. and the south Korean authorities, however, are intent to press for the war exercises against the DPRK, calling them "verification exercises for the return of wartime operation control and low-intensity exercises".

As was reported by the south Korean media, Alliance 19-2 is aimed to get proficiency in the procedures for judging the scale of the U.S. reinforcements needed for sort of "deterrence and repulse" and requesting them in case of emergency on the Korean peninsula under the signboard of "combined crisis control". The exercises are, in fact, a war rehearsal to get familiar with preemptive strike and attack at the DPRK and light the fuse of the war of aggression against it any moment.

One can not but be dubious as to the difference of the projected exercises from Ulji Freedom Guardian in their program and essence. Ulji Freedom Guardian was about mounting a preemptive attack with the conventional armed forces and nuclear strike means once the north's military move is detected.

Intolerable is to veil the north-targeted joint military exercises with different name despite the demand for "dialogue and peace".

The south Korean authorities should stop harmful acts at once, mindful that their reckless military provocations in reliance on the U.S. will divest them of the valuable opportunity for the improvement of the north-south relations.

A complete stop to the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises is the unanimous demand of the entire Korean nation and the international community. -0-

Believe in People as in Heaven- on the 25th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG -contribution of DPRK Embassy to UK KFA AGM

“Have you ever heard about a country in which people are worshipped as the God? I have
witnessed such a surprising reality.”–this is what a European figure said to journalists after
visiting the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994), founding father of socialist Korea, believed in his
people as in heaven.
In his memoirs With the Century, he wrote: “The people are my God” has been my constant
view and motto. The principle of Juche, which calls for drawing on the strength of the masses
who are the masters of the revolution and construction, is my political creed. This has been the
axiom that has led me to devote my whole life to the people.
He regarded the masses of the people as omnipotent beings possessed of inexhaustible
strength and wisdom, and raised their position and role in historical development to the highest
level. Thus the Korean people, once subjected to humiliation and contempt, have enjoyed due
respect as dignified citizens of the DPRK.
The word “people” was included in the names of the country and the army, as well as in the
names of such monumental structures as the Grand People’s Study House, People’s Palace of
Culture, People’s Theatre, People’s Open-air Ice Rink and Rungna People’s Recreation Ground.
This word is not an abstract concept or a mere symbol. It refers to the masses of the people who
are leading a dignified life in socialist Korea.
All the lines and policies pursued by the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea and the government
are for the good of the people and everything serves them. Examples are the Agrarian Reform
Law and the Law on Sexual Equality promulgated in 1946, the universal free medical care
system established in the days of the Korean war (1950-1953), the universal free education
system established in 1959, the universal 11-year compulsory education system in 1975 and the
universal 12-year compulsory education system which is now in force. Thanks to these policies,
Korean society has been developed into one in which the people’s human rights are fully
guaranteed and they live happily without cause for envy.
Chairman Kim Jong Il (1942-2011) carried forward this ennobling idea of President
Kim Il Sung and its validity has been proved by the history of modern Korea.
True to his predecessors’ intentions, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visits wherever the
people live, including factories, farms, fishing villages, scientific research institutes, construction
sites, schools, kindergartens, baby homes, orphanages and rest homes.
His speech delivered at the military parade and public procession of the Pyongyang citizens
held in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (October 10, 1945)
caused a worldwide sensation, as the word “people” was repeated many times from beginning to
end. According to a media report, the word was repeated 97 times in this 25-minute speech.
He would often say: I will pluck a star from the heavens if it is the wishes of the people; there
cannot be satisfaction in the work for the people; we must work with devotion for the people
until our shoes are worn out.
Under his wise leadership, the DPRK is making a leap forward in all spheres of social life.
The people’s living standards are steadily improving as they increase production in all economic
sectors by giving full play to the spirit of self-reliance and self-development. They have ushered
in a heyday of construction: light-industry factories and commercial service organs are being
built or renovated, and monumental structures like the Masikryong Ski Resort, Munsu Water
Park, Mirae Scientists Street and Ryomyong Street have sprung up in many parts of the country.
The Korean people’s beautiful dreams and ideals will surely come true under this benevolent
social system.

The twenty-fifth anniversary of the demise of President Kim IL Sung is upon us, for both the Korean people and for Progressive Humanity July 8th will become a day of reflections and commemoration of the Great Life of the Esteemed Leader Kim IL Sung. Even though 25 years have gone since the passing away of President Kim IL Sung it is still painful to recall this tragic event. The reasons why people from around the world recall with deep emotion the revolutionary activities of President Kim IL Sung is the fact that the Great Leader devoted his life to the independence and well-being of the popular masses. President Kim IL Sung is remembered as the author of the Juche Idea, an ideology which is suited to the independent requirements of the age. The Juche Idea is the first philosophy in history to place man, the social being, into the centre of attention, indeed Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the supreme embodiment of the triumph of humanism.

Kim IL Sung led the national liberation struggle during the 1920s to the 1940s against Japanese Imperialism with herculean determination. Within a period of 14 years, the DPRK was able to industrialize, with was nothing short of a miracle. President Kim IL Sung created the party. the army and the state of Socialist Korea, which ensured that the DPRK would become a self-reliant independent nation. History has recorded Kim IL Sung as the Revolutionary Commander who defeated Japanese and US Imperialisms, that a small country could overcome aggression and invasion by colonial powers due to the fact that it was led by a Great Leader came to be seen as an example for all those fighting for national and social liberation. The method devised by President Kim IL Sung for the building of socialism in Korea was the most unique one, that is by the methodology of the Three Revolutions, ideological, technical and cultural.  President Kim IL Sung secured the continuity and development of the Korean Revolution by appointing Chairman Kim Jong IL as his successor in February 1974, Kim Jong IL loyally carried on the Juche Cause of Kim IL Sung and Kimilsungize the entire society in the DPRK. President Kim IL Sung prized the goal of the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea, many proposals for Korean reunification were put forward by the DPRK President since the division of Korea was imposed upon it by outside forces, Kim IL Sung held the view that the issue of Korean reunification could only be decided by the Korean people themselves, whether they be in the north, in the south or overseas.

In June 1994, I made one of my first journeys to the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. I was in the DPRK for a Juche Idea Study course run by the Korean Association of Social Scientists and KASS accommodated me in the Mangyongdae area of Pyongyang during my stay.  I was able to witness a society with an unparalleled amount of equality and social justice, where everyone was conscious of being the masters of society. The DPRK is a country without unemployment, with free education (up to university level), free health care and most importantly where there is social housing free of charge. While viewing the Korean Central Television News Broadcasts in the comfort of my accommodation in Pyongyang, I saw continually President Kim IL Sung have meetings with various foreign dignitaries, including Ludo Martens of the PTB (The Workers' Party of Belgium). Just a week before I had arrived in the DPRK tensions on the Korean peninsula had been building up to fever pitch over the so-called nuclear issue, with war being a likely option. This situation was averted by the diplomatic skill of President Kim IL Sung and former US President Jimmy Carter was invited to Pyongyang for talks with the DPRK President. Actually, the experienced US politician Jimmy Carter on his impressions of having an audience with President Kim IL |Sung in June 1994, reflected that Kim IL Sung was greater than George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abram Lincoln put together, who were the founding fathers of the United States of America. Kim IL Sung as a political leader who would impress both friends and foes of the DPRK with his magnanimous personality, charisma and outstanding leadership qualities. So when I arrived back to the UK with fond and fresh memories of my stay in that magical land of Morning Claim (the DPRK) I heard to my utter horror and dismay the news of the sudden demise of President Kim IL Sung on the ITN TV News bulletin.  July 8th, 1994 was a truly shocking and tragic day, when the world learnt of the unexpected passing away of President Kim IL Sung. I recall at the time sending many messages of sympathy to Pyongyang and organizing books of condolences, I was indeed in a state of trauma over this most distressing event. In London, there was a seminar held by the Juche Idea Study Group of Britain on the life and work of President Kim IL Sung, on September 10th, 1994, in which I made a contribution to the proceedings of the meeting.  At the September 1994 Commemorative Meeting, we had many progressive people, activists from the labour movement and anti-imperialists in attendance, including Members of Parliament.

It had been my fervent desire to pay my respects to the Great Leader President Kim IL Sung in the Kumsusan Palace of The Sun. The Kumsusan Palace of The Sun was built in the Kumsusan area of Pyongyang in accordance with the unanimous will of the Korean people to uphold President Kim IL Sung for eternity. The project to transform the Kumsusan Assembly Hall into the most sacred sanctuary of Juche was taken at the initiative of Kim Jong IL in early 1995. The Kumsusan Palace of The Sun was declared opened on July 8th, 1995 on the first anniversary of the passing away of Kim IL Sung. At the direction of Kim Jong Un, the Kumsusan Palace of The Sun was renovated into the holiest shine befitting the Great President and the Great Chairman in the winter and spring of 2012. When I had been in the DPRK on previous visits that I wanted to visit the Palace of the Sun, but I had told by my guides, that it was not possible to go to the Kumsusan Palace of The Sun at the time in question, at which I was really disappointed. I had my wish finally fulfilled on two occasions, in April 2017 and in September 2018 to pay my sincere reverence to Kim IL Sung and Kim Jong IL at the Kumsusan Palace of The Sun.  Entering the halls of the palace where the Great Leader President Kim IL Sung and the Great Leader General Secretary Kim Jong IL is laid to rest, was a truly profoundly moving experience for me. Overcome with strong emotions, I had made several deep bows in front of the Greatest Leaders of all times, with tears flowing in my eyes. I saw while in the Palace Of The Sun many exhibitions on the revolutionary feats of Kim IL Sung and Kim Jong IL, such as the trains and the boats used by the Great Leaders when providing On The Spot Guidance to various locations throughout the DPRK.

During the closing segment of the military and civilian parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea on the Kim IL Sung Square in Pyongyang, I was able to have seen in close proximity the DPRK Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un waving at the cheering crowds from the reviewing stand. The smile of Kim Jong Un was so magnetic, as the DPRK Supreme Leader waved at the crowds. it was like the bright sun bringing life to the solar system. Having witnessed Kim Jong Un nearby to where I was standing with the other delegation members (from the UK KFA/Juche Idea Study Group of Britain), I was reminded that Marshal Kim Jong Un was like President Kim IL Sung and Chairman Kim Jong IL in every aspect. I know that the revolutionary legacy of Kim IL Sung is being carried forward most faithfully by Kim Jong Un in all fields of party and state activities. Kim Jong Un has turned the DPRK into a powerful and prosperous socialist state, which is highly regarded on the international stage. Although President Kim IL Sung passed away twenty-five years ago, the Great Leader's cause is more alive and victorious than ever before. The Kimilsungist ideology of human independence and liberation, the Juche Idea has furthered its appeal to the progressive peoples of every continent because of its perceptive relevance to the challenges of the 21st century. In the subsequent years since July 1994, the Korean people have turned their overwhelming sorrow and grief into a steel-like ideological and political strength, in which the single-hearted unity of the Leader, the Party and People have overcome every single trial and built on the land of Korea the dignified people-orientated country centred on the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. With the passing of the years and decades, the name and exploits of the Great Leader President KIM IL SUNG will shine ever brighter throughout the chronicles of human endeavour.

It should go without saying that anyone who is progressive, who believes in a bright socialist future without exploitation and oppression, without imperialism and war, should study the life and works of Comrade Kim Il Sung. All true revolutionaries who have encountered his works and heard of his deeds can only feel themselves inspired and heartened by his example and leadership, by his contributions to applying Marxism-Leninism to Korean conditions and his evolution of the Juche Idea. His death in 1994 is a loss the Korean people still feel, even though they still have their socialist fatherland and the Juche Idea expanded and being perfected through Songun politics and the continual struggle and victories in self-defense and building a strong socialist economy.
“The oppressed peoples can liberate themselves only through struggle. This is a simple and clear truth confirmed by history.” – Kim Il Sung
When still a student at the Kirin Yuwen Middle School, he was secretly absorbed in reading the classics of Marxism-Leninism, and other revolutionary literature, and learnt early on the importance of theory and practice. He regarded Marxism-Leninism as a weapon of struggle and a means of practical activity. He first put this to use when he formed the Down-With-Imperialism Union in 1926 when he was 15 years old. The aims of the union he said:
"Is to struggle for the building of socialism and communism in Korea in the future, and, for the present, to defeat Japanese Imperialism and achieve the liberation and independence of Korea"
Later on he would achieve just that after the victory in the anti-Japanese struggle. But his vision of a liberated, independent Korea, free to build socialism under conditions of peace, was sadly to be upset after the war by the aggressive actions of imperialism, a vicious imperialism that still divides Korea to this day. US imperialism divided the nation, then attacked the DPRK in an attempt to destroy the young Republic. President Kim Il Sung's revolutionary leadership was able to beat back imperialism but its forces remained occupying the South.
In a speech he gave in 1955 he gave a scientific analysis of the situation and the complex social and class relations created in the North and South at that time and, on this basis, clearly defined the character and tasks of the revolution and the Workers Party of Korea's strategic and tactical lines arising from it. President Kim Il Sung said:
"The basic tasks of our revolution at the present stage are to smite the aggressive forces of US imperialism and their ushers and allies - the landlords, comprador capitalists, pro-Japanese and pro-American elements, and traitors to the nation in the southern half - and to free the people there from imperialist and feudal oppression and exploitation, thereby achieving the country's unification along democratic lines and attaining complete national independence"
And in these times and after, President Kim Il Sung, incisively exposing and criticising the reactionary allegations of the anti-Party factionalists and dogmatists that the revolution in the northern half should not be advanced farther until the North and South were unified, proved in a scientific manner that socialist revolution and construction in the north was by no means contradictory to the nation-wide revolution and causes of the countries unification, but rather that building a strong socialist society in the North accelerated and contributed to that cause of unification and national independence by not back-tracking or yielding to the demands of US imperialism and its puppets in the South Korean government, and by building a strong socialist society under the banner of the Juche Idea.
When he proclaimed the founding of the Republic in 1948, his words are still fondly remembered by the progressive peoples of the world in their challenge for all of society to unite and build the new chapter in Korea’s history. It’s a quote you can see in print and on banners in the Korean Revolution Museum in Pyongyang:
“The time has come when we Korean people have to unite our strength to build a new, democratic Korea. People from all strata should display patriotic enthusiasm and turn out to build a new Korea. To contribute posi­tively to the work of building the state, let those with strength give strength, let those with knowledge give knowledge, let those with money give money, and let all people who truly love their country, their nation and democ­racy unite closely and build an independent and sovereign democratic state.”
He has also remained the consistent anti-imperialist:
“It is necessary to expose the false propaganda of the imperialists and thoroughly dispel the illusion that the imperialists will give up their positions in the colonies and dependent countries with good will.”
And advanced scientific socialism through application of his Juche Idea:
“The basis of the Juche Idea is that man is the master of all things and the decisive factor in everything.”
Today we honour and remember President Kim Il Sung and recognise his contributions to theory and practice. It's important we learn from him and study his works. We wish his legacy a long life, and wish for peace and unification of Korea under socialism, a revolution he guided from victory to victory.

ON  the 8th of July it will be 25 years since the great leader President Kim Il Sung left us . Recently it was the 55th anniversary of the start of work of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il at the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea and the 3rd anniversary of the  election of dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un as the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK . It is time to reflect on the greatness of the 3 great generals of Mt Paektu , President Kim Il Sung , Chairman Kim Jong Il and Marshal  Kim Jong Un,
 President Kim Il Sung passed away on the 8th of July 1994, only a few days after a delegation of our Juche Idea Study Group of England had returned from visiting the DPRK , it was a great shock to us as we revered and still revere the great leader President Kim Il Sung as  the greatest of great leaders. He defeated two imperialism's US and Japanese in one generation thus securing independence for the people so that  they became masters of their own destiny .President Kim Il Sung authored the Juche Idea the acme of progressive ideas of humanity.
 President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the homeland of Juche and cradle-land of the people’s bliss. He founded the Workers’ Party of Korea, the supreme general staff of the Korean revolution, the organiser and guide of the Korean people. Also he founded the Korean People’s Army the stalwart sentential of Juche-based socialism.
Throughout his life President Kim Il Sung was a tireless fighter against US imperialism and also against modern revisionism. President Kim Il Sung was a true internationalist who sent internationalist assistance to many lands of the world including Cuba, Egypt, Vietnam and many other countries.
President Kim Il Sung was indeed a giant of the international communist movement and its elder statesman. The late comrade Fidel Castro Ruz supreme leader of the Cuban revolution said of President Kim Il Sung “one of the most eminent, outstanding, heroic leaders of socialism.”
President Kim Il Sung established an advanced socialist system in Korea centred upon the popular masses making Korea into the model country of socialism. He declared that “the people are my God “ and made sure that the people were put first in everything . The DPRK has neither unemployment nor homelessness and everyone enjoys the rights to free health care, free education etc.
The cause of the great leader President Kim Il Sung  , the Juche revolutionary cause was carried forward by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il whose Songun revolutionary leadership spanned some 51 years.
Chairman Kim Jong Il developed in depth and systematised the Juche idea .  In 1982 he authored the immortal treatise  “ON THE JUCHE IDEA “ and a number of other important works on the Juche idea  built up the Workers Party of Korea as the party of the great leader President Kim Il Sung .
 Chairman Kim Jong Il , another general of Mt Paektu started the Songun –based revolutionary leadership  in 1960 and administered  Songun politics thereby thwarting the schemes of the US imperialists to stifle People’s Korea militarily and make its people slaves of modern colonialism.
Saying  “Expect No Change from me” he made sure that Korea held high the Red flag of socialism when socialism collapsed owing to the treachery of the modern revisionists. He rebuffed those who urged the so-called “reform “ and “opening up”
Under the leadership of the great leader Chairman Kim Jong Il the DPRK became a proud independent nuclear power as well as a satellite launching nation.
  The Songun revolutionary cause and Juche revolutionary cause of the great leaders President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il is today continued by the dear respected leader Marshal Kim Jong Un, the Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who embodies the true Paektu spirit  is the great successor to the Juche revolutionary cause who is identical to the great leaders President Kim Il Sung and Chairman
 Kim Jong Il.
   It is thanks to respected Marshal Kim Jong Un amazing diplomatic skill that a potential war on the Korean peninsula was averted . It seemed impossible that there could be a summit between a US president and the supreme leader of the DPRK but it  happened .Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un has also opened up a broad avenue for peace ,prosperity and reunification on the Korean peninsula by boldly holding  not one but 3 inter-Korean summits within the space of 6 months during 2018.
  Respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is a true people's leader who fights for the interests of the people. He does not tolerate inefficiency and bureaucracy but implements the people-orientated policy.
 Dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un has put forward the great self-development first idea  an application of the great Juche idea and the spirit of self-reliance. The self-development first idea is enabling the Korean people to smash the unjust sanctions of the imperialists.
Without a doubt dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is another great leader of the Mt Paektu mould  !
Let us meaningfully celebrate the anniversaries of the great generals of Mt Paektu !

The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP)  issued a joint statement in support of the statement of Kwon Jong Gun, director-general of the Department of American Affairs of the DPRK Foreign Ministry that was issued today (27th of June);
   There is much rumour and speculation in the media these days about 'resumption of DPRK-US negotiations ' and a "Third Summit " .The statement by  Kwon Jong Gun is therefore it extremely relevant and timely  as it makes clear the DPRK's correct stance on such matters.
  The statement says that DPRK-US dialogue cannot happen by itself, without effort. For it to happen the US must come up with counter-proposals , it simply cannot sit with folded arms and wait , the US must be proactive in order to advance dialogue .The US is duly warned.
  The statement takes issue with the south Korean authorities for trying to promote themselves as  "mediators " in the DPRK-US dialogue . It points out that "In the true sense of the word, parties to the DPRK-U.S. dialogue are none other than the DPRK and the U.S., and in view of the origin of the DPRK-U.S. hostility, the south Korean authorities have nothing to meddle in the dialogue"
 We call for the US to be sincere about dialogue with the DPRK and to make realistic proposals for improving relations , dropping unilateral and unreasonable demands on the DPRK . This is the only way dialogue with the DPRK can be advanced and progress made in DPRK-US relations. We also say that south Korea, an entity without true independence , must not meddle in the issue of DPRK-US relations. We reiterate that the US should end its hostile policy and sanctions.

   It is now 25 years, a quarter of a century  since the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG passed so unexpectedly on the 8th of July 1994 but his memory is undimmed . We Juche Idea followers, Songun idea followers and true friends of People's Korea in the UK recall his great exploits with deep pride.
                               

   The great leader President KIM IL SUNG worked all his life for the independence of the people. . He was a tireless fighter who battled against imperialism all his life, leading the Korean people first against the rapacious Japanese imperialists, then against the barbaric US imperialists . President KIM IL SUNG waged a 15 year long  armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists becoming a legendary general distinguished by his adroit guerilla tactics.He gave the Korean people independence and liberation ,something that is so precious it cannot be bartered for billions of tons of gold bullion.
   President KIM IL SUNG was the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist who defeated the US imperialist aggressors who had tried to crush People's Korea when it was in its cradle .Thus again he defended the independence of the people.
    Under the leadership of  the great leader President KIM IL SUNG ,two stages of revolution were carried out : the anti-imperialist,anti-feudal democratic revolution and the socialist revolution.He founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) , an unique socialist state of Juche centred on the popular masses ,a peoples paradise.The DPRK has proved to be a most durable ,stable and harmonious socialist state.
                                     

    The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG ensured that Rightist and Leftist deviations were avoided in the construction of socialism. Moreover socialism in Korea was not a copy of another country but Korean-style socialism, an independent Juche socialism. The DPRK upheld socialist principles when others introduced capitalist-style methods.
   Independence, independence and independence was the creed of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . He authored the Juche Idea which lights the road of independence for the popular masses and teaches us that man is the master of everything .The Juche idea captivated the anti-imperialists and revolutionaries throughout the world .Thousands of seminars on the Juche idea have been held all over the world.
    The Songun idea initiated by the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG  in  the fiery days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle  is based on the concept that independence is achieved by arms and the victorious revolution is defended by arms .The Songun idea , which has been implemented by the worthy successors of the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, eternal general secretary KIM JONG IL and dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , is the treasured sword that defends the independence and dignity of People's Korea the bastion of world socialism.
   The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG always struggled uncompromisingly against US led world imperialism . He upheld unity against division when others split the international communist movement and socialist camp. The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG held high the red flag of socialism when others abandoned it. He was a great revolutionary true to his faith until the very last moments of his life. President KIM IL SUNG put forward the line of global independence and was known the sun of the world revolution.
  The great leader President KIM IL SUNG put forward  correct policies for independent national reunification as well for the south Korean revolution.
    25 years on  we remember  great  President KIM IL SUNG as the eternal leader of the Korean people and WPK ,  the greatest of great leaders who was the author of the Juche idea, the benevolent liberator of the Korean people, the ever-victorious iron-willed commander and the outstanding leader of the world revolution. The ideas and cause of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG is being faithfully carried forward by dear respected leader  Marshal KIM JONG UN , who is identical to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG.

President KIM IL SUNG the elder of the international communist movement

                                                           

                           

As we approach the 25th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG I have been reading some biographies of President KIM IL SUNG . My favourite and probably the best ever is the 1968 Baik Bong biography  . In this book comrade KIM IL SUNG is referred to as the 'outstanding leader of the international communist and working class movement '. Later on people referred to President KIM IL SUNG as the senior or elder of the international communist movement . Indeed chairman Mao Zedong  leader of the People's Republic of China and the Communist Party of China  said "About world revolution no one can lead it, except for Kim Il Sung. My sincere request to you, Comrade Kim Il-sung is to continue and now lead the cause of world revolution and the international Communist movement. ".This indeed reflected the fact that President KIM IL SUNG wa the seasoned and veteran leader of the international communist movement . Indeed he held high the red flag of socialism when others fell by the wayside and threw it down .
 President KIM IL SUNG had always believed in maintaining revolutionary principles and always opposed modern revisionism right from the start . Modern revisionism which first appeared in the ranks of the international communist movement towards the end of the 1950s and early 1960s was a truly awful counter-revolutionary ideology which eventually caused the collapse of the USSR and other socialist countries . President KIM IL SUNG speaking to soldiers of the 109th Army of the KPA on the 25th August 1960 said that
"The imperialists and their servants the revisionists are now spreading revisionism in opposition to Marxism-Leninism and the communist movement. . . . It has made and is making inroads into our country too, and the anti-Party groups have exported it for their own ends. . . . To reject our Party's leadership means precisely to deny the revolution and capitulate to capitalism. Therefore it is necessary not only to fight against the revisionists who reject Party leadership, but also to combat relentlessly all the unsettling elements that provide good soil for revisionists". This was a sharp and incisive analysis of modern revisionism . Later he gave the following reasoned and coherent analysis of modern revisionism "The sources of revisionism are acceptance of domestic bourgeois influence and surrender to external imperialist pressure. Both old revisionism and modern revisionism are one and the same in essence and in aims. Both deny the basic principles of Marxism and call for a renunciation of the revolutionary struggle on the pretext that times have changed".
  In the 1980s when some socialist countries went off the rails and either adopted "reform " and "opening up " or perestroika/glasnost . President KIM IL SUNG spoke out against this idiocy that was so insidious and toxic . In December 1986 he warned against the infiltration of revisionism and capitalism into the DPRK saying that "The people's government must guard against the poisonous ideas of capitalism and revisionism and resolutely fight against all attempts to infringe upon the socialist system". In January 1987 he sharply criticised modern revisionism pointing out that "Modern revisionism which has appeared in the international communist movement is also creating a lot of difficulties for our revolution. On the pretext of 'reforming' and 'reorganising' socialism, the modern revisionists are following the road to capitalism and abandoning internationalist principles. It is, therefore, difficult for us to expect from them co-operation based on internationalism in the building of socialism. What is worse, they are applying economic pressure on us because we do not follow their wrong, revisionist policy".
   President KIM IL SUNG also noted the dangers of 'reform' and 'opening up being pursued by a neighbouring country
"Careless opening may allow mosquitoes and blowflies to fly in and cause damage. We must conduct exchanges and joint ventures with other countries, but we must pitch mosquito nets to prevent those insects from infiltrating ".
   Whilst opposing modern revisionism President KIM IL SUNG avoided the ultra-leftism and sectarianism of some who claimed to oppose modern revisionism . He consistently argued for unity and against division in the international communist movement and socialist camp. He saw both modern revisionism and Left opportunism ( which had emerged in the mid 1960s ) as dangerous pointing out that " We must fight 'Left' opportunism as well as modern revisionism. 'Left' opportunists fail to take into account changed realities and dogmatically seek isolated propositions of Marxism-Leninism; they lead people to extremist action under super-revolutionary slogans. They also divorce the Party from the masses, split the revolutionary forces and prevent a concentrated attack on the principal enemy".

                     

                                               
   
It was for this reason that the DPRK and Workers' Party of Korea maintained relations with both the Soviet Union and People's Republic of China as well socialist countries such as Albania, Vietnam, Cuba and Romania. The WPK worked with communist and worker's parties of different tendencies and views. Throughout his life President KIM IL SUNG met many leaders of communist and workers' parties both ruling and non ruling such as J V Stalin , Mao Zedong , Zhou En Lai, Hua Kuo Feng, Fidel Castro , Che Guevara , Ho Chi Minh , Enver Hoxha , Erich Honecker , Gus Hall , Alvaro Cunhal , Leonid Brezhnev Santiago Carrillo and Enrico Berlinguer  to name just a few of the leaders and activists of the international communist movement .
                                         

Thus President KIM IL SUNG is remembered as the most extraordinary elder of the international
communist movement . His image and memory are bright in the hearts of revolutionaries throughout the world .

Report of UK KFA AGM 22.06.2019

                                         

The UK Korea Friendship Association held its Annual General Meeting on the 22nd of June at 1900 hours in , central London.
The meeting was received a message of greetings from comrade Kim Song Gi  Minister at the DPRK Embassy , London who sent the following speech titled "Believe in People As in Heaven " which read in part ;
“Have you ever heard about a country in which people are worshipped as the God? I have
witnessed such a surprising reality.”–this is what a European figure said to journalists after
visiting the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994), founding father of socialist Korea, believed in his
people as in heaven.
In his memoirs With the Century, he wrote: “The people are my God” has been my constant
view and motto. The principle of Juche, which calls for drawing on the strength of the masses
who are the masters of the revolution and construction, is my political creed. This has been the
axiom that has led me to devote my whole life to the people.
He regarded the masses of the people as omnipotent beings possessed of inexhaustible
strength and wisdom, and raised their position and role in historical development to the highest
level. Thus the Korean people, once subjected to humiliation and contempt, have enjoyed due
respect as dignified citizens of the DPRK."


Andy Brooks editor of the New Worker and general secretary of the New Communist Party bringing greetings to the meeting and stressed the need to step up solidarity with the DPRK . He supported the positive peace proposals of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN.

Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of UK KFA spoke about the 25th anniversary of the passing away of the great leade comrade KIM IL SUNG saying that "n. Indeed President KIM IL SUNG  was the father of  modern Korea and the founder of socialist Korea. Moreover he wast like a father to a the Korean people as he established a socialist system which gave them  full employment , free education , free health care , housing and many other things that in other countries are regarded as an impossibility. President KIM IL SUNG also worked for the independent reunification of Korea , in fact he had been planning a summit with the south Korean chief executive before he passed away . President KIM IL SUNG fought for world peace and global independence .  For the people of the DPRK losing President KIM IL SUNG was like losing their parents .
  However rallying under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL , the successor to the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , the Korean people turned sorrow into strength and did not let grief defeat them but carried on the Juche revolutionary cause and worked hard to to build a better and more prosperous socialist country.
The reason why it seems like only yesterday that comrade KIM IL SUNG passed way rather than a quarter of a century ago , is that his memory burns brightly . Comrade KIM IL SUNG is alive as the  Juche idea, the idea of independence and self-reliance and alive in the pulsating reality of People's Korea .
We in UK KFA salute the memory of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG !"

Dr Hudson also spoke about the 3rd anniversary of the election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN saying that " The election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as the Chairman of the newly created State Affairs Commission three years ago on the 29th of June 2016 fully reflected the enthusiastic support of the entire Korean people  for the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is leading the Korean people to victory !It was a clear manifestation of the unanimous will of the Korean people as well as their deep reverence for respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well  their profound trust in him.It was an example of people's democracy in action because dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was unanimously elected by the Supreme People's Assembly which in turn had been elected by the people decisively . Unlike the UK where only 68.7  per cent of electors voted , in the DPRK the Supreme People's Assembly was elected by nearly 100 per cent of electors !
    Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has been at the helm of the state and party of the DPRK for several years  leading it to victory after victory against the imperialist reactionary forces. He has implemented the great revolutionary line of building the nuclear force and economy in parallel and has greatly improved the living standards of the Korean people turning the DPRK into a paradise of socialist bliss for the people.Under  of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN leadership  the deterrent force of the DPRK has been increased and the DPRK is maintaining robust independence"

Dr Hudson then read out a report of work of UK KFA saying that  "Basically we have kept up a phenomenal level of activity .
On Facebook we have 5,061 likes and about 1,400 followers on twitter."


I would say that the two biggest successes were the Poster exhibition and the KFA Scotland inaugural meeting. The Scotland meeting was attended by 17 people and the atmosphere was really positive and enthusiastic , another meeting is planned for August . My thanks to all those who worked hard to make those two events a great success."

A session on the way forward for UK KFA was held . Many suggestions were made such as organising a film show , more cultural events , a Q and A session with embassy staff and other ideas.

A resolution on peace on the Korean peninsula was adopted and 2 messages to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN were adopted .

   Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has put forward the brilliant idea of self-development first which is creating a great upsurge in socialist construction . New streets such as Ryomyong Street have appeared . Despite the intense sanctions of the imperialists the economy is prospering and living standards , this is what our delegation witnessed in September 2018 when we visited the DPRK.
His recent policy speech in April this year titled “On Socialist Construction and the Internal and External Policies of the Government of the Republic at the Present Stage"  Marshal KIM JONG UN stressed the need to adhere firmly to self-reliance saying that “Whatever wind may blow and whatever challenges and difficulties may lie ahead, our Republic will, in the future, too, make no concession or compromise over the issues concerning the fundamental interests of our State and people. It will resolve everything on the strength of self-reliance and self-development, stepping up the building of a powerful socialist country in our own way and by our own efforts."
 
Measures for easing tensions and creating a peaceful environment have been taken by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is carrying forward Juche-based diplomacy , even winning victory over the US on the negotiating table. To many of us , a war between the US and DPRK seemed inevitable , a question of when and not if . However Marshal KIM JONG UN skifully defused the situation by holding 2 summits with the US president . During the past year the DPRK's international relations have soared . Marshal KIM JONG UN has visited China ,  Vietnam and Russia and held a meeting with the President of Cuba.
   Thanks to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN 3 inter-Korean summits were held within the space of 6 months .These inter-Korean summits created  firm foundation for lasting peace, prosperity and reunification .
  Only victory and glory are in store for the Korean people under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK !

Comrades and friends .
In a few weeks , on the 8th of July it will be 25 years since the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG passed away so suddenly -. Although it was 25 years ago , a quarter of century ago , it still seems like yesterday . I remember that fateful day in July 1994 when the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG left us  . I first heard the news that the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG had passed away on the 9th of July when I was visiting my mother's house at Winchester, Hampshire. It was announced suddenly and abruptly on the Radio . I did not believe the news reports , I thought they must be false. When I  heard the stark announcement my heart beat fast and I felt ill. I walked up my mother's garden to calm down .Later I wondered about the city thinking deeply , telling myself it was not true .After all only a few days before on Sunday the 3rd of July I had returned from People's Korea travelling via Beijing , China. We had actually left the DPRK on Saturday 2nd of July . Our visit to the DPRK had been very successful .During our visit , virtually each day we saw the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG on the tv giving either giving on-the spot guidance or meeting foreign guests  such as Ludo Martens the then head of the Workers' Party of Belgium . Each time he met foreign guests on tv the theme "Long live Marshal KIM IL SUNG" ! was played which gave a certain grandeur , a real sense of presence  He looked healthy and vigorous .To me it was impossible  and unimaginable that comrade KIM IL SUNG leave us  so soon.
   At 2am in the morning of the 8th of July 1994 comrade KIM IL SUNG had passed away suddenly whilst still at work even though it was 2am in the morning . I believe he had been working on documents about the economy and national reunification . When the news was announced by KCNA and DPRK TV people in the DPRK rushed  to the statues of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG .They were in tears and some threw themselves to the ground , how could they be parted from President KIM IL SUNG ? A lot of people in the West totally fail to understand the reverence of the Korean people for the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG .As one Korean explained to me  they wore the badge with the image of the  President  with pride and devotion  because  without  the President there would no be no Korea . President  KIM IL SUNG  had fought the Japanese imperialists for more than a decade to win the independence of Korea and start to build a new nation. Indeed President KIM IL SUNG  was the father of  modern Korea and the founder of socialist Korea. Moreover he wast like a father to a the Korean people as he established a socialist system which gave them  full employment , free education , free health care , housing and many other things that in other countries are regarded as an impossibility. President KIM IL SUNG also worked for the independent reunification of Korea , in fact he had been planning a summit with the south Korean chief executive before he passed away . President KIM IL SUNG fought for world peace and global independence .  For the people of the DPRK losing President KIM IL SUNG was like losing their parents .
  However rallying under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL , the successor to the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG , the Korean people turned sorrow into strength and did not let grief defeat them but carried on the Juche revolutionary cause and worked hard to to build a better and more prosperous socialist country.
 The reason why it seems like only yesterday that comrade KIM IL SUNG passed way rather than a quarter of a century ago , is that his memory burns brightly . Comrade KIM IL SUNG is alive as the   Juche idea, the idea of independence and self-reliance and alive in the pulsating reality of People's Korea .
 We in UK KFA salute the memory of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG !

Director-General of Department of American Affairs of DPRK Foreign Ministry Issues Statement

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Kwon Jong Gun, director-general of the Department of American Affairs of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, released the following statement on Thursday:

The United States is now talking much about the DPRK-U.S. dialogue, but in reality, it is becoming more and more desperate in its hostile acts against the DPRK.

The DPRK-U.S. dialogue would not open by itself though the U.S. repeatedly talks about resumption of dialogue like a parrot without considering any realistic proposal that would fully conform with the interests of both sides.

As Comrade Chairman of the State Affairs Commission has already declared in his historic Policy Speech, the U.S. should come out to the table for the DPRK-U.S. dialogue with a correct method of calculation and the time limit is until the end of this year.

Even though we are to think of holding a dialogue with the U.S., we need first to see a proper approach towards the negotiation on the part of the U.S. Negotiation should be conducted with a counterpart who has a good sense of communication, and it could also be possible only when the U.S. comes up with a proper counterproposal.

In case the U.S. intends to sit with folded arms like today, time might be enough. However, if the U.S. is to move towards producing a result, time will not be enough.

The U.S. would be well advised to bear in mind that our repeated warning is not merely an empty word.

I would also take this opportunity to say a word to the south Korean authorities who are trying to refurbish their image by giving a publicity as if they are "mediating" the DPRK-U.S. relations.

The south Korean authorities are now stirring up public opinion as if a sort of dialogue is being held between the north and the south, in order to find their own place to stand while affecting to make their presence felt by taking a share in the process.

In the true sense of the word, parties to the DPRK-U.S. dialogue are none other than the DPRK and the U.S., and in view of the origin of the DPRK-U.S. hostility, the south Korean authorities have nothing to meddle in the dialogue.

As is globally known, the DPRK-U.S. relations are moving forward on the basis of the personal relations between Comrade Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and the U.S. President.

If we have anything to liaise with the U.S., it will be simply done through the liaison channel already under operation between the DPRK and the U.S., and the negotiation, if any, will be held face to face between the DPRK and the U.S. Therefore, there will be no such a happening where anything will go through the south Korean authorities.

The south Korean authorities are now giving a wide publicity as if the north and the south are having various forms of exchanges and closed-door meetings, but the reality is the contrary.

The south Korean authorities would better mind their own internal business. -0-

Respected KIM JONG UN ,leader upholding the red flag of self-reliance and socialism -special article by Dr Dermot Hudson marking the 3rd anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Chairman of the DPRK SAC

                                                             

One of the key factors that distinguishes the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN , the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is his emphasis on self-reliance .With respected Marshal KIM JONG UN at the helm the Korean people are fighting to carry out socialist construction in the spirit of self-reliance smashing the sanctions of the imperialist and hostile forces . The imperialists have imposed sanctions on the DPRK not because of  the DPRK's possession of nuclear weapons but because they want to bring down the socialist system and turn the DPRK into their colony enslaving its people and plundering its resources . Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN will not allow that to happen ! He is leading the fightback against imperialist attempts at "regime change " and subordination , inspiring the people with his ideas on self-reliance and self development .
 Right from the start of his Chairmanship of the State Affairs Commission of  respected Marshal KIM JONG UN always stressed the self-development first idea and the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance. In his 2017 New Year Address ( the first one made after becoming  Chairman of the State Affairs Commission ) respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said ""Worship of big countries and dependence on foreign forces is the road to national ruin; self-development alone is the road to sustaining the dignity of our country and our nation and to paving a broad avenue for the revolution and construction".This smashed the idea of depending on foreign countries and worshipping big countries , something that had bedevilled Korea in the past . As those who are familiar with the history of Korea will know that in the past the idea of dependence on outside forces and worshipping big powers (which is known as flunkeyism ) was prevalent amongst the feudal ruling class and later amongst some in the nationalist movement and communist movement .Flunkeyism had grave consequences ;it caused Korea to be lose independence and become a colony of Japan , it hampered the fight for national independence and after socialism was established flunkeyists attempted to impair the course of socialist construction . It was for these reasons that President KIM IL SUNG fought hard against flunkeyism and ideas of dependence. In December 1955 he spoke of the need to establish Juche .Later President KIM IL SUNG smashed the flunkeyist traitor factionalists who tried to overthrow the leadership . President KIM IL SUNG led the DPRK along the path of self-reliance
and building an independent national economy . Chairman KIM JONG IL also stressed self-reliance saying that "Self-reliance is the revolutionary spirit and a principle of struggle of the communists in carrying out the revolution by their own initiative. One must believe in one's own strength and depend on it in economic construction, just as in all other activities for the revolution and construction." Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN follows the teachings of the great leaders
President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL and works to full implement it .
  At the 4th Plenary meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN emphasised that "Self-reliance and self-supporting national economy are the bedrock of the existence of our own style socialism, the motive power of its advance and development and the eternal lifeline essential to the destiny of our revolution". These words are remarkably wise , self-reliance is indeed the basis of the socialist system of the DPRK , abandoning self-reliance will cause the downfall of socialism in the DPRK but respected Marshal KIM JONG UN does not listen those who tell the DPRK to give up self-reliance but holds high the red flag of self-reliance and socialism. At the 1st session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly  he stated
"Whatever wind may blow and whatever challenges and difficulties may lie ahead, our Republic will, in the future, too, make no concession or compromise over the issues concerning the fundamental interests of our State and people. It will resolve everything on the strength of self-reliance and self-development, stepping up the building of a powerful socialist country in our own way and by our own efforts.".
  Now in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and led by respected KIM JONG UN Chairman of the State Affairs Commission , the Korean people are creating new things defying the sanctions and blockade of the imperialists . Whole new streets such as Ryomyong Street, which is the size of a small city , have risen  in the space of one year up despite the predictions of the imperialists that the sanctions would stop the completion of the street .
  Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN ,chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK  is leading the Korean people to a bright future of self-reliance and Juche !
