This year has not only seen the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation in August and the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the great Workers Party of Korea but it's also the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean Friendship Association by comrade Alejandro Cao De Benos. The Korean Friendship Association (KFA ) is the sword and shield of People’s Korea in the imperialist world .
The reason why KFA exists and why we are holding this significant international meeting is to defend People’s Korea because it is a genuine beacon of hope for the world and humanity .People’s Korea is the most advanced socialist country which is an example for progressive humanity and a model of socialism . The Russian Communist leader Nina Andreeva , head of the All Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks of the former USSR, gave a lecture at KIM IL SUNG University in October 1992 which was titled "The Cause of Socialism Is Invincible” in which she described the DPRK as an indestructible bulwark of socialism in Asia.
Indeed I visited the DPRK, the country of Juche , the land of President KIM IL SUNG for the first time in May 1992 . In those days , the revisionist USSR and the bloc of socialist countries around it had collapsed or more accurately , socialism was frustrated in those countries , it was betrayed by the treacherous revisionist leadership of Gorbachev . New forms of anti-communism and anti-socialism appeared . The imperialists, drunk with what they saw as their victory over the socialist camp, schemed to topple the DPRK , to destroy its socialist system and restore capitalism . Many people wondered what would happen to the DPRK . Some cynics and defeatists hidden amongst so-called progressives and leftists in the West sneered that the DPRK would not last long . Of course these blockheads were totally ignorant of the Juche-based, independent , self-reliant socialist system of the DPRK , wrongly seeing the DPRK as a creation and an extension of the old USSR . When I arrived in the DPRK after a few days I became immediately impressed and inspired by the solidity and durability of Juche based socialism that had been built by President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL as well as by the efforts of the great Korean people. When I was in the DPRK for the first time I saw no black market currency dealers . I remember arriving in Budapest , the capital of revisionist Hungary in the 1980s and seeing black market currency dealers almost immediately. Looking around the streets of Budapest I saw not only a McDonalds but also Rambo and Madonna posters , people wearing jeans , all very westernised , illustrative of the deep ideological and cultural infiltration of imperialism .In the DPRK I saw no such things . I was convinced that socialism in the DPRK could never collapse and would last eternally !
Visiting People’s Korea many times since 1992 , I have never seen graffiti or vandalism on the streets which are also clean and free of litter . In People’s Korea you will not see pornography and there is no prostitution . You will not see betting shops or sex shops . There is no one begging on the streets or the trains .In People’s Korea housing is free health care and education are also free but citizens do not pay tax . Every citizen has the right to eat which is guaranteed by the supply of food at a cost next to nothing .
The Juche idea has been applied in People’s Korea to create a unique and harmonious society of single-hearted unity around the leader and the Party . Everyone is united on the basis of the Juche idea . There are no disturbances , riots or strikes in People’s Korea. In the UK we have had many riots and disturbances and even in some countries that are building socialism riots have occurred . In People’s Korea there is no reason for people to protest or stage riots because they have everything for their lives ;housing ,food ,education , the right to work and much more.
Recently in a certain Asian country the imperialists overthrew the government which was led by a party calling itself ‘communist ‘,by inciting youths to riot on the streets . This was a colour revolution , a coup d'etat by the imperialists who imposed a puppet government on that country . Such a thing cannot happen in People’s Korea because it carried out land reform dozens of years ago and has socialist ownership of the means of production , distribution and exchange . People’s Korea has the revolutionary dictatorship of the proletariat. It also rejects ideological and cultural poisoning and it upholds anti-revisionist principles and raises the banner of socialism high .
Recently respected Marshal KIM JONG UN declared “For the Workers' Party of Korea, the government of the Republic and our people, the absolute lifeline is to remain faithful to the socialist line and hold higher the banner of socialism.”
Thus the DPRK , People’s Korea of Juche , is the true beacon of socialism , a shining light guiding progressive humanity .
I say let us, delegates and members of the Korean Friendship Association , unite more firmly to defend People’s Korea , the advanced beacon of humanity and true socialist country !
