                   London 22nd of May (2025)

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea(BGSJI)  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK(KFA UK ) issued a joint statement on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan(CHONGRYON)

CHONGRYON was founded on the 25th of May 1955 as an organisation of overseas compatriots of the DPRK and an organisation to defend the rights of ethnic Koreans in Japan against oppression by the Japanese imperialist reactionaries. The great leader President KIM IL SUNG inspired the foundation of CHONGRYON and gave valuable teachings to you. CHONGRYON is a truly Juche-orientated overseas compatriots movement.

As respected Marshal KIM JONG UN said ;
"Sharing its destiny with the great leaders and the motherland, it has developed invincible ranks that fully demonstrate its might of single-hearted unity. In the crucible of the struggle to establish the ideological and leadership system of Juche, it has become a truly Juche-based, patriotic organization that regards believing in and following only the great leaders and realizing their intentions and wishes as its inherent duty. "

Despite attempts at repression by the US imperialists and evil Japanese reactionaries CHONGRYON has stood the tests of time and survived many storms always defying all attempts to crush or undermine it. CHONRYON stands out as a shining example of an overseas compatriots movement and is a model for all ethnic minority organisations throughout the world.

The great leader chairman KIM JONG IL, the successor to the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN also provided   important guidelines for developing the movement of Koreans in Japan on a new high stage in the period of historic turn in carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Our organisations congratulate  CHONGRYON on its 70th anniversary and wish it greater success in it work.
