SPEECH TO KFA INTERNATIONAL MEETING 1^ST OF DECEMBER 2018 DPRK EMBASSY

Comrades

Firstly, it is great to be here at the DPRK Embassy in Spain to participate in the 18^th international meeting of the Korean Friendship Association, the militant defender of People’s Korea and its sword and shield. Today the KFA is increasing in strength and vitality all the time. We are sure that this meeting will further enhance the success of KFA.On behalf of UK KFA I send greetings to all those present and KFA branches throughout the whole world.

  This meeting is being held at a time when the Korean people, the KFA and Juche idea followers all over the world will solemnly mark the 7^th anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL but on the 24^th of December it will be the 27^th anniversary of the election of comrade KIM JONG IL to the post of supreme commander.

Recalling the life of great comrade KIM JONG IL we remember the exploits of comrade KIM JONG IL the ever-victorious supreme commander of Korea.

 Since the 1960s comrade KIM JONG IL had distinguished himself as the successor to the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG as well as a great military strategist. Comrade KIM JONG IL had begun his Songun (army-first) revolutionary leadership on the 25^th of August 1960 at the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su no 105 tank division of the Korean People’s Army. He gave guidance to the KPA during important showdowns with the US imperialists such as the 1968 “Pueblo “incident, the 1969 EC121 incident and the Panmunjom incident

At the time when comrade KIM JONG IL became  Supreme Commander of the KPA in 1991  the US and other imperialists were running wild to stifle the DPRK, the bastion of Juche-based socialism , talking about the “end of history “ and the “collapse of communism”. The imperialists schemed to destroy the DPRK because it was upholding the banner of socialism. There was even wild talk of pre-emptive strikes on DPRK nuclear facilities .Comrade KIM JONG IL took decisive and resolute measures and led the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK in defending the country from US imperialism. In March 1993 he put the KPA and armed forces of the DPRK onto a semi war state to cope with the war provocations of the Yankee imperialists as well as having the withdrawal from the unjust “Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty “ or NPT declared . This stunned the imperialists and forced them to enter into talks with the DPRK.

As the supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army comrade KIM JONG IL smashed all the provocations of the imperialists and south Korean reactionaries for example on the 17^th of December 1994 anti-aircraft gunners of the Korean People’s Army shot down a US army helicopter which had intruded illegally into the airspace of the DPRK . Later the adroit commanding tactics of comrade KIM JONG IL reliably safeguarded the security of the DPRK during incidents like the West Sea incidents of 1999 and 2002 and the Yongypong island battle of 2010.

  The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL was always on the frontline against imperialism and even visited Panmunjom in November 1996 right under the noses of the reactionary US imperialists.

  The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL did not bend to the US imperialists pressure and diktat but instead pushed ahead Songun revolutionary leadership and developed the DPRK’s own nuclear deterrent in defiance of US led imperialism. The DPRK carried out is first nuclear test in October 2006 and second nuclear test in May 2009.The nuclear thunder of Juche terrified the imperialists.

During the past few decades many countries fell victim to wars started by the US imperialists and even lost their sovereignty completely, we can mention Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and Libya. However thanks to the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL, the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander, and the Songun idea and the Juche idea, Korea was able to maintain its sovereignty and preserve peace. Korean people can wake up in the mornings and see a clear sky without the planes of imperialism flying and they can walk down the street and not pass a single foreign occupying soldier. This is the great legacy bequeathed by the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL and is carried forward by his successor dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN. It is our duty also to defend this legacy like the apple of our eye.
