Our UK KFA specialist media monitoring unit kindly alerted us to yet another example of twisting and bending fact by the the NKNews gang (maybe someone could design one of those memes for them to be called "Oh No it's the NKNews gang ! ) . This time they rather ludcricoulsy tried to compare the whole DPRK economy to ... wait for it ... McDonalds . How on earth anyone can compare the independent , socialist national economy to the the imperialist multi-national fast food chain McDonalds is really beyond belief . It is an insult to the DPRK and a slander .
However , wait a minute , there is a deeper reason for this kind of thing . It is to create a sublimal pyschcological association between the DPRK and McDonalds . It is to make people think the DPRK is a capitalist economy. This is all based on a propaganda trick used by the CIA during the Cold War . The CIA realised that railing about "communist dictatorships " and "OMG they socialised everything " only appealed to the converted , to right wingers . The CIA wanted to win over the liberals , social democrats and the Left to their side in the struggle against existing socialism . What better trick than to paint the socialist countries as being really capitalist so lefties would recoil in shock. The CIA were aided in this endeavour by some sections of the Left (notably Trotskyites) .
NKNews which is a CIA propaganda front have revived this old trick .
