Unquenchable
Campaign
An
all-people action for peace was staged in Seoul on June 24 to protest the US
THAAD deployment, under the sponsorship of the Action for Checking THAAD
Deployment.
Attending
it were thousands of inhabitants from Seongju County and Gimcheon City of North
Gyeongsang Province and other parts of south Korea.
Speakers
at a rally said the present "government" should inform the US of the
will of the south Korean people opposing the deployment of THAAD as befitting
the "government" established by the candlelight resistance.
It
stressed that its deployment is an illegal deed as it failed to go through
legal procedures and public discussion.
They
urged US President Trump, who made a litany of balderdashes with respect to
reexamining the environmental influence on the area, to withdraw THAAD from
south Korea.
They
chanted slogans “Withdraw THAAD from the Korean Peninsula! No THAAD, Peace!” in
the rain.
At
the end of the rally, the participants marched through different streets to
surround the US embassy in human-chains.
They
surrounded the vicinity of the US embassy and held a rally, blowing their
whistles.
They
tore placards depicting the US President with THAAD and a roll of money in his
mouth to pieces.
They
urged the "government" to attach priority to the people's peace,
security and basic rights and resolutely reject the unjust deployment of THAAD
by the US, expressing their will to carry on the struggle until THAAD is
withdrawn from south Korea.
