UK KFA on the 84th anniversary of the foundation of the Korean People's Army

The UK Korean Friendship Association issued the following statement on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the foundation of the of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army , the forerunner of the modern Korean People's Army of today.
   84 years ago, on the 25th of April 1932, the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  founded the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerrilla Army (AJPGA)which became the Korean People's Revolutionary Army in March 1934 and formed the regular armed force of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 1948.
    The foundation of the KPA  as the KPRA in 1932 marked the birth of the first people's armed force in Korea. The KPA was and is distinguished from the armies of imperialist countries because it is a people's army composed of the sons and daughters of the workers and peasants. It protects the lives of the people and their independence  It is also distinguished from other armies because it is based on Juche and self-reliance.The fighters of the AJGPA fought many battles against the marauding Japanese imperialists  often virtually barehanded without the support of an external power and without a stable rear base.
    The KPA inherited the fine traditions of the anti-Japanese partisans . Under the command of the great leader leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG it vanquished the US imperialist invaders. It faced down the continuous provocations of US imperialism throughout the period following the Korean war . Under the command of generalissimo KIM JONG IL it won victory in the 'war without gunshots' against the US imperialists in the 1990s and 2000s.
    The Korean People's Army under the leadership of dear respected Marshal
KIM JONG UN has become incomparably stronger than before.
    Now the KPA under the command of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is defending the independence of the DPRK and its socialist system against all manner of threat, provocation and pressure by US imperialism and other  imperialists. The KPA is not only defending the independence and dignity of the DPRK but is also participating in construction projects and is the creator of the people's happiness. We believe that the KPA will reliably discharge its mission as the Juche-orientated defence force under the wise leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN.
