The great leader generalissimo KIM JONG Il was the great successor to the Juche revolutionary cause pioneered by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and was a leader who stood by the socialist principle in whatever adversity . The world knows many leaders who claimed that they stood by socialism and some were even leaders of socialist countries . Of course it one thing to say that one stands by socialist principles in easy conditions but another thing to uphold them in difficult and challenging !. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea founded by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG built socialism in confrontation with imperialism , not in easy conditions . Moreover the US imperialists occupied the southern half of Korea and committed innumerable provocations.
Todays the end of the 20th century the DPRK faced an even more difficult situation .In the late 1980s and early 1990s an abnormal situation arose in the international communist movement when the Soviet Union and other socialist countries under the guise of "glasnost " and "perestroika " betrayed socialism (socialism never collapsed, it was betrayed by renegades and revisionists). Reactionaries such as Francis Fukuyama arrogantly tried to proclaim the "end of history". The world socialist forces faced their darkest hour: whole parties were decimated, some disappeared and the Red Flag was lowered from the Kremlin . The eyes of the world turned to the DPRK . The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL rallied the international communist movement by issuing the Pyongyang Declaration which declared that "Ours is an era of independence and the socialist cause is a sacred one aimed at realising the independence of the popular masses....Socialism has long been the ideal of mankind and it represents the future of mankind.". The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL also published many works such asThe Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party , Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable and Socialism Is A Science which gave explanations that as to why socialism was frustrated in some countries and affirmed its validity and scienifitic nature . These works served as a precious tonic, an exlir of life for the world revolutionary people fighting for socialism.
The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL made sure the newer generations were educated properly so that they would not degenerate ideologically and fall victim the insidious Coca Cola culture of US imperialism . Comrade KIM JONG IL said
It is important to educate the third and fourth generations of the revolution effectively, because they have experienced neither trials nor suffering . We must get them to drink the syrup made from the blueberries of Mt Paektu , not Coca Cola. In other words , we must imbue them thoroughly with the revolutionary ideology of our Party so that they are not swayed in the slightest by the wind of bourgeois liberalisation "
This was a stern revolutionary statement that rejected bourgeois liberalisation and imperialist ideological and cultural infiltration . We revolutionaries in the West reading this statement wished that the USSR and Eastern European socialist countries had done the same. It was a powerful statement inspiring the world revolutionary peope in their fight against 'Cocacolaisation' and globalisation .
When the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG passed away in July 1994 the imperialists and some other forces said that the DPRK would "open up " and "reform " in the style of a certain country. KIM JONG IL declared "Expect No Change From Me" .Later in his work " The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a Juche-orientated socialist state with invincible might KIM JONG IL blasted "reform" and "opening up " saying that
" The “reform” and “openness” they are advocating represent a move to destroy and put down our style of socialism. Such moves will only worsen their relations with us and are doomed to failure.
This smashed the insidious and evil moves of the imperialists and renegades to undermine and destroy Juche-based socialism by means of "opening up " and "reform" and greatly inspired the peoples of the world aspiring for independence and socialism.
Thus the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL not a fairweather leader but one who upheld socialist principles through thick and thin.He made the DPRK a tower of strength for the world socialist forces and international communist movement ! Today the work of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL is carried forward by his loyal successor dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN.
