Report of 29th KFA UK Film Night 30.07.2025
The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held its 29th film night on the 30th of July at 1900 hours BST . To mark the 72nd anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists the film “5pm to 5am “ was shown . Participating in the film night were KFA UK members from London , Scotland and other parts of the UK as well as guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain ), KFA Germany , the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and the USA .
The film “5pm to 5am “ depicted the heroic and superhuman struggle of the Korean People’s Army(KPA) commanded by Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG against the US imperialists . In the film the US imperialists plan a new offensive against the DPRK and aim to capture a hill of strategic importance . The US general in the film was actually played by the famous US defector Joe Dresnok . The US planned to have a press conference to announce their victory .
Supreme commander Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG orders the KPA to mount a new offensive to thwart the plans of the US . This involves moving not only troops but guns and rocket launchers 40km over difficult terrain . The KPA succeeded in this task but not without sacrifices . The films end with the US headquarters being shelled and rocked by explosions descending into chaos .
The close relationship between Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG and his commanders can be seen in the film as well as the unity between officers and troops.
