A joint Songun -Juche Idea Study Meeting with Question and Answers, organised by the Korean Friendship Association UK , the British Group for the Study of the Juche idea and Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK was held on the Saturday 30th of September at 1500 hours BST via Skype . Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , the West of England , Staffordshire and other parts of Britain as well as the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland.
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the BGSJI introduced the meeting .
Comrade Alan Bolon, Organisation Secretary of KFA UK and head of KFA UK West of England read out an extract from the book ‘ Global Farmy Songun Internationale ‘ by Dr M Jahanghir Khan of Bangladesh . Which gave a detailed explanation of Songun politics . The extract pointed out that Songun politics means giving priority to the armed forces but is totally different to military governments in the capitalist world .
Participants said that “ In People's Korea, the military works together with civilians in constructing new housing and infrastructure facilities. In capitalist countries, the military is often involved in imperialistic ventures under the guise of "peacekeeping operations," which, in reality, result occupation, much like how the Polish military occupied part of Iraq in the past” and that “The KPA's being armed ideologically certainly plays a part “
Dr Hudson read out some of the questions and answers from the booklet “Questions and Answers on the Songun Idea”
A short film “Initiation of the Songun Idea “ was shown .
It was proposed that people should send in questions in advance for the next session .
The online meeting concluded at 1635 hours BST
