Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- The region of puppets has seen daily-growing public protests to oust traitor Yoon Suk Yeol, a pro-U.S. lackey and confrontation maniac who is seeking to inflict nuclear disaster on the nation in collusion with outside forces, and to oppose the U.S. imperialists' war rehearsal.
The "sit-down group of students against the firepower annihilation drill" has staged protests in Phochon of Kyonggi Province every day to expose the gravity of traitor Yoon's dangerous war racket and condemn it.
The protesters held press conferences, demonstrations, etc. in front of the site of the war drills, on roads in its vicinity, where they lambasted the dangerous war drills, holding literature reading "We oppose the war drills bringing nuclear disaster!" and "Leave this land, U.S. troops, chief culprits of war crisis!"
Amid widespread protests against the largest-ever combined joint firepower annihilation drill due in Phochon of Kyonggi Province, leaflets reading "We oppose the firepower annihilation drill that will bring nuclear disaster to the Korean Peninsula" were scattered in Seoul and Phochon of Kyonggi Province on June 14.
On June 13, the Confederation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Peasants Associations, the Federation of Women Peasants Associations and other organizations held an emergency meeting and decided to form the "joint organization for ousting Yoon Suk Yeol regime."
Recalling that the public resistance of 1987 was aimed at changing the "regime" and that of 2016 was at impeachment, the participants said the current resistance should not end merely in the resignation of the traitor. They underlined the need to form a joint front involving all the forces opposing the traitor with workers as its backbone, saying the organizations of workers, farmers and poor people, and civic and public and religious bodies and organizations of cultured men, lawyers and youth and students should become the driving force of the joint front.
Noting that the joint front is not merely a consultative group but a fighting front to involve all organizations for ousting traitor Yoon, they declared that they would begin to implement the detailed action procedures to do so.
The "action for peace on Korean peninsula" held a press conference in Seoul, appealing to the public to go all out for defusing the danger of war on the Korean peninsula and bringing about peace.
Speakers there called on citizens to engage in the struggle to defuse the danger of war and bring about peace, take part in an all-people signature-collection campaign and other movements to prevent war and ensure peace.
The construction trade union of the Confederation of Trade Unions held an oath-taking gathering on June 14, where they made public an action plan to oust traitor Yoon Suk Yeol.
The "labor, civic, social and religious organizations' joint action for martyr Yang Hoe Dong", the Confederation of Trade Unions and the construction trade union decided to intensify their struggle.
People of Jeju Island held a rally to condemn the traitor, where they said that what remains to be done by traitor Yoon Suk Yeol is to resign as he suppresses workers by wielding power and is hell-bent on crackdown by invoking the "security law." They declared that they would intensify the struggle to oust the traitor.
The "Kyongnam headquarters of the movement for Yoon Suk Yeol's resignation" formed by civic organizations in South Kyongsang Province, and the "Kyongnam headquarters of the Confederation of Trade Unions" held a press conference in front of the building of the Changwon District Prosecutor's Office, urging the prosecution not to crack down on labor, dignity and conscience.
40 branch organizations of the public transport workers' union held a press conference in Seoul where they declared the start of a joint struggle.
In Yangju City of Kyonggi Province on June 13, 23 civic, public and religious organizations had a joint memorial gathering to vow to force the traitor to step down.
Organizations of street stall keepers held a gathering in Seoul to vow to force the traitor to resign through their united struggle.
The organizations released a history of the public struggle for ousting traitor.
It affirmed that they would wage a struggle to bring down the dictatorial regime depriving the working masses of their right to existence and intensifying suppression under the pretence of public security and that the struggle would surely end in their victory.
Media organizations had an emergency press conference in Seoul and declared that they would join the public protests to oust the traitor keen on gagging media. -0-
