Pyongyang, March 8 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a message of greeting to Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on Sunday.
The message extended warm congratulations to the Syrian president, government and people on behalf of the DPRK government and people upon the 57th anniversary of the March 8 Revolution in Syria.
The message said that the March 8 revolution was a historic event through which the Syrian people opened up the road to independent development and prosperity of the country under the leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party.
Reaffirming the invariable support and solidarity of the DPRK to the just struggle of the president and the people of Syria for the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity and peace, the message expressed the belief that the ties of traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to be strengthened in the future, too. -0-
