The DPRK Nuclear Weapons institute issued a statement explaining that it had, on the 24th of May , held a ceremony for completely dismantling the northern nuclear test ground of the DPRK, in accordance with the decision reached at the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held on April 21st this year. The plenary meeting decided to discontinue with nuclear tests as the DPRK had completed the work of becoming a nuclear state.
The dismantling of the nuclear test ground of the DPRK was done on the 24th of May in an open, transparent manner in the presence of journalists from many different countries.
The DPRK has taken an epochal step for peace , probably becoming one of the few nuclear powers to dismantle its nuclear test site . Shamefully the US has answered this sincere peace-loving gesture by the DPRK by cancelling the DPRK-US summit .
As the statement of the DPRK Nuclear Weapons Institute says "The discontinuance of the nuclear test is an important process moving towards global nuclear disarmament, and we will continue to join hands with the world peace-loving people in building a nuclear-free peaceful world, a new independent world where the dream and ideal of humanity are realized. - "
We support this noble peace-loving gesture by the independent DPRK . We believe that the US and other nuclear powers should reciprocate by taking measures towards global nuclear disarmament .
