KCNA Commentary Urges U.S. to Withdraw Hostile Policy toward DPRK

Pyongyang, January 27 (KCNA) -- The world is urging the U.S. to withdraw the anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK and opt for co-existence with the DPRK, while giving wide publicity to the personality of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un as a great man who raised the strategic position of the country.

The U.S. magazine Paste in an article on Jan 17 wrote that the U.S. lost in the stand-off with north Korea over Olympic games and the nuclear issue, adding that leader Kim Jong Un is putting to use the peace card, the most powerful weapon in the region. It also said that the U.S. hinges on decision of the north Korean leader, who may end the confrontation any time he wants and would pursue several peace initiatives, commenting that in the end the U.S. will be made to co-exist with north Korea just as it does with Russia and China which level their nuclear weapons at it.

The Indian newspaper Ocean News Point, the Iranian Ilna and other media praised Kim Jong Un as the most ideal state leader of the present times possessed of the excellent qualifications and traits and a leader strong in faith, pluck and independence.

The Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News, Australia's press website Interpreter and China's Hong Kong Economic Journal, too, carried articles saying that north Korean nuclear weapons will, in fact, bring stability to Northeast Asia, because nuclear weapons would reduce misjudgment and prevent conflict from expanding.

As known, today when the situation on the Korean peninsula has entered the track of detente thanks to the proactive measure taken by the DPRK, the U.S. is trying hard to turn the table, regarding the positive development as a thorn in the flesh, even though it clamored for peaceful solution of the Korean peninsula issue.

Provocative remarks are openly heard from high-ranking officials of the U.S. political circle and administration. They assert "now time has come for the U.S. to put the north into disadvantages and hold initiatives", "the present trend whereby the U.S. is held back by the north's appeasement policy must be reversed" and that "the Trump administration is taking very serious examination of the military option toward the north".

The U.S. is putting to the extreme political and military pressure on the DPRK while hurling huge aggression troops including all sorts of sophisticated nuclear war lethal means to the sky, land and sea.

The U.S. should not make misjudgment.

It should face up to the fixed will of the Korean nation for independent reunification and the powerful force for safeguarding peace and make reasonable and rational option for itself after refraining from indiscreet provocative adventures, though belatedly.

A priority for it is to repeal the anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK. -0-
