The Association for the Study of Songun Politics(ASSPUK) , Juche Idea Study Group of England (JISGE), the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued the following joint statement in support of the White paper of the Institute of International Studies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) issued on the 15th of March 2017:
It is indeed very commendable and timely that the DPRK Institute of International Studies(IIS) has issued a White paper that provides a critical and in depth overview of the dire human rights situation in the USA . The US likes to style itself as some great paragon of liberalism, democracy and human rights and relentlessly and shamelessly criticise other countries particularly the DPRK over their human rights . The US hypocrisy on the human rights situation is well known to the world people. The US have railroaded several anti-DPRK human rights resolutions through the UN but their own human rights situation is terrible with the US being regarded as a fascist state with a fascist president by the world people'
The White Paper of the DPRK IIS offers a trenchant and detailed expose of the appalling human rights situation of the US and gives very detailed statistics. Firstly , it exposes the fact the US is not a real democracy pointing out that the US has a very low turnout in elections (it should be added here that in the Juche-orientated people's democracy of the DPRK turnout is nearly 100 per cent ) and that basically money can buy votes. In the US who spends the biggest amount of money on elections wins and elections are decided by billionaires not the ordinary people. The current US president Trump is not a working man but a billionaire property developer and landlord .The White paper points out that "According to the statistical data, about USD 5 billion was consumed in
the presidential election in 2008 and USD 6 billion in 2012, whereas in
the last presidential election it amounted to USD 10 billion.
Advertisement for the presidential candidates cost USD 4.4 billion, and
the earnings by websites, radio stations and newspapers for political
advertisement amounted to USD 1.2 billion, USD 916 million and USD 882
million, respectively"
The US political system is very corrupt with special favours being done for those who donate money to political parties.
Secondly , the White paper details the fact that in the US the social and economic basic rights of the masses are continually violated . The top 1 per cent own most of the wealth and the rights of the ordinary people are trampled down . It is pointed out that " In the U.S., in one week of December 2016, 275 000 persons joined the
chronic contingent of the unemployed numbering 7.9 million; 18.8% of the
total number of the unemployed was young people.
The number of persons without shelter exceeded 560 000, and 322 000
persons in 17 northern counties in Florida are maintaining a bare
existence with the help of "charitable organization"
The people of the US are denied the rights to healthcare, to a job , to a home and to education .
Moreover the rights of women are shamelessly violated and children as well. There are many cases of ill-treatment and sexual slavery of women in the US as well as cases of human trafficking . In the US women are paid less than men.
The White Paper also details the appalling racism of the US which is one of the most racist societies on earth . Black people and other non-White races are subjected to appalling discrimination. The White paper points out that " According to a report by the expert group on African descendents of the
UN Human Rights Council, 40.4% of the homeless are Afro-Americans and
their unemployment rate is double that of the whites. And as for the
same offences, the imprisonment rate of black men is 5.9 times higher
than that of white men and the rate of black women, 2.1 times higher
than white women.
Worse still, an increasing number of Afro-Americans are being shot
dead by white policemen. The targets in the vast majority of police
shootings are innocent black people.".
Lastly , people in the US suffer from crime particularly gun crime which has claimed many innocent lives.
The US is thus exposed as fascist criminal state that wanton violates human rights and is the worst human rights violator in the world.
We applaud the publication of the White Paper on the human rights situation in the US and hope that it will have a wide audience .It will provide very useful campaigning material as it is well researched with detailed statistics.
