Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The Asia-Pacific Regional
Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea and the
Philippines Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in the
Korean Peninsula sent an appeal to and organizations for friendship and
solidarity with the Korean people in different countries in the
Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world on Oct. 23 on the occasion
of the 60th anniversary of the DPRK's victory in the Fatherland
Liberation War.
The regional committee and the solidarity
committee in an appeal said that the U.S. and the anti-reunification
forces of south Korea colluding with it have constantly pursued the
hostile policy toward the DPRK and committed the moves for a new war,
challenging all the Korean people desirous of the country's
reunification and national reconciliation and unity.
They
underscored the need to achieve peace and stability in the Korean
Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia through the early reunification
of Korea and develop the international movement for solidarity in
keeping with the Korean people's growing enthusiasm for reunification.
They
called for conducting more significant activities of various forms for
worldwide solidarity to suit to the specific conditions of relevant
countries, including meeting, seminar, round-table talks, demo, press
conference and release of statement for positively supporting and
encouraging the just struggle of the Korean people for the conclusion of
a peace agreement between the DPRK and the U.S. and the withdrawal of
the U.S. troops from south Korea on the above-said anniversary.
They
also called on and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the
Korean people in different countries in the Asia-Pacific region and the
rest of the world to wage dynamic worldwide signature campaign for the
conclusion of a peace agreement and withdrawal of U.S. forces from south
Korea. They also called for setting up a plan for conducting in the
DPRK international solidarity events for peace on the Korean Peninsula
and making preparations for them.
The appeal voiced expectation
that the above-said organizations would actively respond to it through
the release of statements for solidarity. -
