The Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),,British Group for the Study of the  Juche Idea(BGSJ)) ,the UK Korean Friendship Association(KFA UK ) and the   British Solidarity Committee for the Peace and Reunification in the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP) issued a statement expressing condolences on the passing away of comrade Yang Hyong Sop, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly;

Comrade Yang Hyong Sop, the former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assemby and winner of both the KIM IL SUNG Order and KIM JONG IL , passed away on the 13th of May at the age of 96 years . Our organisations we deeply saddened to hear of the demise of comrade Yang Hyong Sop  . Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK , Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and head of the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , met comrade Yang Hyong Sop twice , once in 2005 and in 2013

Comrade Yang Hyong Sop was a veteran revolutionary faithfull to President KIM IL SUNG and Chairman KIM JONG IL . He  fought in the great victoropus  Fatherland Liberation War agains the US imperialists in the 1950s . He made devoted efforts to the construction of Juche-based socialism and to consolidating the Party and the revolution , holding many posts such as President of the Academy of Social Sciences , secretary to the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea, Minister of Higher Education and was the  vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assemby .

We share the grief of the Korean people in regard to the passing away of comrade Yang Hyong Sop.
