Director General of DPRK Foreign Ministry Warns U.S. against Interference in Inter-Korean Relations

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Kwon Jong Gun, director general of the Department of U.S. Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK, gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA on Thursday over the recent obtrusive moves of the U.S. to interfere in the inter-Korean relations:

On June 9, an official concerned of the spokesmen's office of the U.S. Department of State made such useless remarks that he supports the improvement of the inter-Korean relations but was disappointed at the recent behavior of the DPRK, and urged the DPRK to return to diplomacy and cooperation, saying that the U.S. is keeping close coordination with south Korea, an ally of the U.S. This is, indeed, ridiculous.

No one is entitled to say this or that about the inter-Korean relations as the relations pertain to the internal affairs of the Korean nation from A to Z.

Disgusting is the double-dealing attitudes of the U.S. that feels uneasy over any sign of the improvement in the inter-Korean relations and pretends to get very anxious if the relations get worse.

How can the "disappointment" touted by the U.S. be compared with the extreme dismay and resentment we are feeling at the U.S. and the south Korean authorities that have repeated betrayal and provocation for the last 2 years?

It seems that the U.S. still fails to properly understand the surging resentment of our people.

If the U.S. pokes its nose into others' affairs with careless remarks, far from minding its internal affairs, at a time when its political situation is in the worst-ever confusion, it may encounter an unpleasant thing hard to deal with.

As there are not a few things to be settled between the DPRK and the U.S., there would be no need for the U.S. to face disaster for others while playing the protector of south Korea.

The U.S. had better hold its tongue and mind its internal affairs first if it doesn't want to experience horrible thing.

It would be good not only for the U.S. interests but also for the easy holding of upcoming presidential election. -0-
