The UK Korean Friendship Association today issued the following statement on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary the passing away of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il.
On the 17th of December it will be one year since the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea passed away so suddenly and unexpectedly whilst on his way to give -on the spot guidance to help develop the DPRK economy and improve the living standards of the people. Comrade Kim Jong Il had been 69 when he passed away and had worked every minute of his life right to the very end for the people. He was the epitome of a true people's leader in every sense of the word even wearing the same plain parka for many years. As dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un wrote
" The only parka he wore
from the days of the "Arduous March" to the last days of
his life is vivid evidence showing what a thorny path he had to
traverse with patriotic devotion to defend his socialist country. One
year, looking back on the days of the trying ordeals with deep
emotion, he touched on the parka he was wearing. He said that he wore
it at the onset of the "Arduous March" after President Kim
Il Sung had passed away, and that he kept wearing it because he could
not forget the trials. He continued earnestly that the parka was
symbolic of the Songun-based revolution. Even a parka gets thin if
one wears it long, and it cannot keep one warm in the cold. Though
icy wind got through the old parka, he burned his heart with a sense
of responsibility for the defence of his country. He held on to the
parka for more than ten years, when he displayed strong will and
superhuman energy going on with his inspection of the military units
on the front line to train the soldiers into a-match-for-a-hundred
combatants "
Throughout his life comrade Kim Jong Il visited at least 14 290 units across the DPRK covering 669 844 km, a distance equal to going around the world 17 times. Everything in the DPRK has the traces of his footsteps.
Comrade Kim Jong Il wrote over 890 different works. He is best known for his different works on the Juche Idea which developed it in depth and expounded it philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything.
Throughout his life comrade Kim Jong Il was a staunch defender of independence and socialism. He made sure that the DPRK kept to the road of socialism when others abandoned it .Under his leadership the DPRK resisted the pressure of US imperialism and big power chauvinism,firmly maintaining independence.
Thanks to the Songun politics of comrade Kim Jong Il, which built the DPRK up into a mighty military power of Juche , the outbreak of war was prevented on the Korean peninsula thus making a great contribution to world peace.
The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il made an unparalleled contribution to the cause of Korean reunification by ushering in the June 15 era of "By Our Nation Itself" which broke down the walls of division and eased confrontation on the Korean peninsula.
UK KFA remember comrade Kim Jong Il as a great leader of the Korean people and world people . We are confident that the Juche cause is carried forward by his successor dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.
