Uninterrupted Action

Uninterrupted Action

Some days ago, the south Korean authorities called "security meeting" under the pretext of the DPRK's second ICBM test-fire of Hwasong-14 and ordered the deployment of additional launching pads for THAAD, only to spark off surging indignation of people of various circles.
The US move to deploy THAAD only inflicts disgrace and misfortune upon the south Koreans.
Owing to the introduction of THAAD, south Korea has been reduced into a risky theater of nuclear confrontation between the US and powers surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
The US has forced the south Korean authorities to pay money as the cost for the THAAD deployment and south Korea has been denounced and faced with economic retaliation from the neighboring countries.
The Seongju Committee for Struggle against THAAD Deployment and 150 residents, on July 30, held a rally in Seongju in denunciation of the south Korean authorities’ decision to deploy another four launching pads for THAAD.
We are surprised at the fact the government, which had claimed THAAD would be deployed according to the procedures and in democratic way, decided the introduction of THAAD all of a sudden and we would stand against the authorities physically, co-chairman of the Gimcheon Citizens Measure Committee against THAAD Deployment noted.
The Seongju Emergency Measure Committee for Defending Holy Land of Won Buddhism contended in its statement that the government decision should be withdrawn in order to protect military sovereignty.
Residents of Seongju and Gimcheon called a press conference in front of the Cheongwadae on July 31 to protest against additional deployment of four THAAD launching pads.
The THAAD deployed in south Korea is unlawful and it is absurd to talk about additional deployment of THAAD, they said, adding they would turn out in the action to withdraw them.
At the press conference held in front of the Defense Ministry, the acting chairman of the KCTU said that it is order and demand of 17 million people to withdraw the deployment of THAAD, the evil left by the Park Geun-hye regime and THAAD should be removed from the Korean Peninsula and the additional deployment should be cancelled.
The south Korean authorities would meet the same miserable end of the Park group if they pursue the pro-US sycophant policy.
