Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance at Construction Projects for Regional Development Policy in Ragwon County

 

Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the construction projects for the regional development policy in Ragwon County of South Hamgyong Province on July 3.

He was accompanied by leading officials of the Central Committee of the WPK and the Ministry of National Defence and officials of the designing organs.

This year, modern regional-industry factories, an advanced public health facility and a multi-functional leisure complex, which will contribute to the development of the regional economy and the promotion of the inhabitants' health and their material and cultural life, are being built in Ragwon County, which is undergoing a radical change into the fairyland like its name along with the new era of regional change opened up by the Party, under the third year's plan for implementing the regional development policy.

The construction of regional-industry factories, hospital and leisure complex in Ragwon County is now progressing at 67.5 percent, 47 percent and 54 percent of the total construction projects respectively, thanks to the soldier-builders who are leaving traces of worthwhile creation and feats day by day to uphold the cherished desire of the Party Central Committee with honorable fruits of patriotic devotion and efforts.

First, Comrade Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at the construction sites of regional-industry factories in Sepho-ri, Ragwon County.

He was greeted on the spot by Ri Jong Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the WPK, and commanding officers of the construction units involved in the construction projects for the regional development policy in Ragwon County.

He went round foodstuff factory, daily necessities factory and garment factory under construction to learn in detail about the construction.

Praising the fact that the quality of construction for all the architectural spaces and elements is being ensured on a high level, he said with great satisfaction that the specialization and technical equipment level of construction units have been certainly improved to a higher stage as compared with last year and the environment around the construction site arranged in a clean way.

Saying that the construction quality and speed have been improved in the overall construction projects for the regional development policy as a result of the sustained efforts made to increase the proportion of mechanization in construction and strengthen the ranks of skilled workers, Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to continue to reinforce construction equipment and, at the same time, make effective judgment on technical skill rating for the builders and properly evaluate according to them.

Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the area of Sepho-ri showing the traction and vitality of the Party's regional development policy, he said with pleasure that this was a shabby place when he made up his mind to build the Ragwon County Offshore Farm but there sprang up an advanced offshore farm and an ideal modern fishing village. He added that the construction of modern regional-industry factories and a greenhouse farm is turning the area into an industrial zone.

Acquainting himself with the operation of the offshore farm in the county, he said that since a good asset has been provided to lay foundations for the improved material and cultural life of its residents and independent economic development, the County Party Committee and the County People's Committee should hold fast to the main link and carry out all the tasks in a responsible manner and thus turn the county into a place with its own characteristics as a coastal area good to live in while creating and leading the civilization in the new era. He advanced detailed tasks and ways to do so.

He also called for making the struggle for the implementation of the Party's regional development policy an important political occasion cultivating the working spirit and voluntary revolutionary consciousness of all the residents who are determined to carve out their future by themselves.

He went round the hospital and leisure complex being built in the township of Ragwon County.

Learning about the construction, he highly praised the soldier-builders for thoroughly ensuring the quality of construction, aware that every structure will be associated with the leadership feats of our Party and conscience of the service personnel.

Although structures have the same purposes, their characteristics as the mountainous, coastal and flat areas have to be preserved and new things applied steadily and they should be harmonized with surrounding natural landscape, he said, adding that this is an important requirement of the Party's regional construction policy. And he stressed that the whole construction sector should have a proper understanding of this and create a new standard and a new record every year and steadily renew them.

Since new hospitals, leisure complexes and regional-industry factories have to be built in 20 cities and counties every year, it is needed to supply sufficient material and technical means for designing and building and steadily develop the builders' activeness and creativeness so that all the structures can be successfully built to fully embody the Party's idea on architectural aesthetics and meet the architectural engineering requirements, he said.

Saying that the important significance of construction work is being more highlighted in bringing all-people struggle for the overall development of socialism to a steady upsurge at present, he expressed his idea to further accelerate the regional transformation by expanding and deepening the regional development policy in a gigantic way in the future.

The epoch-making changes in local areas at which even we admire are historic miracles that can be created only by our army, he said, adding that the entire Party, the whole country and all the people should give full play to the spirit of assisting the army with sincerity.

He called upon construction units at all levels to put constant efforts into the political and ideological education so as to firmly prepare all the soldier-builders to be staunch defenders and implementers of the Party's policies and make them fully display their excellent political awareness and morality and patriotism in the fields of socialist construction.

He clarified the important tasks arising in the completion of the construction and the operation of objects, including the issue of strictly meeting the requirements of the method of construction at the finishing work and intensifying supervision, the issue of conducting the designs for afforestation well and giving precedence to the afforestation and greening in time, the issue of building up the county's own construction forces and directing primary efforts to improving urban management including the provision of domestic water for inhabitants and the removing of sewage, the issue of preparing the ranks of medical workers to run modern hospitals without any deviation, the issue of taking responsible measures for the supply of raw materials to regional-industry factories and the issue of paying deeper attention to the living conditions of soldier-builders.

He expressed expectation and belief that all the soldier-builders involved in the construction projects for the regional development policy would invariably remain faithful to their honorable duty and vanguard role, with the awareness that they are the core and engine leading the comprehensive development of socialism, and thus glorify the first year of implementing the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK as a year of proud victory in which regional areas are making another leap forward in their transformation.

Encouraged by the field guidance and the greatest trust of Comrade Kim Jong Un, all the soldier-builders pledged to uphold the Party's policy on regional development with high results at the level required by the new era of comprehensive development. -0-

 Destroyer Kang Kon Has Performance Test of Its Weapon Systems

Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The destroyer Kang Kon on Friday conducted a test-fire of strategic cruise missile and a test of major weapon systems such as naval artillery, automatic machine guns and electronic warfare means under its plan to assess and test the performance of its combat systems.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, oversaw the tests.

Among the spectators were Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Pak Jong Chon, advisor to the Ministry of National Defence, Pak Kwang Sop, commander of the Navy, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and Kim Kwang Il, minister of Shipbuilding, and other leading officials in the field of national defence and shipbuilding industries.

The relevant tests are part of a process for examining and confirming the ability to apply various kinds of weapon systems on board the destroyer in combat.

Prior to the tests, Comrade Kim Jong Un heard from members of the weapon systems assessment group detailed reports on the stepwise plan to examine and test the performance of weapon systems on board the warship.

Then there took place the inspection of the warship's target-detecting and information-processing capability and combined firepower system and the test-fires aimed to assess the performance of warship artillery and automatic machine guns in accordance with the plan to assess and test the performance of weapon systems.

They were followed by the launch of a strategic cruise missile from the destroyer.

Noting that the combat power and creditability of anti-warship, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft weapon systems and strategic offensive weapon systems on board the destroyer Kang Kon are being verified in a responsible manner, Comrade Kim Jong Un said that it is enough to have confidence in potential for the development of naval combat system of our own style in view of the recent trend of development of our weapon systems and this provides the great possibility to bring on a change in the readiness posture of our army's strategic action.

He clarified the tasks to be carried out by stages in developing various surface and underwater combat systems and deploying them in the waters for military action under the crucial strategic idea of our Party for national defence.

Noting that it is necessary for us to further speed up the projects to maintain and steadily expand the reliable war deterrent and capability to fight a war, he affirmed that we will demonstrate through more obvious actions our political will and determination to have an absolute power.

Recalling the fact that the Second Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK adopted a decision to build naval fleet bases into a hub of naval command, culture and combat capability and expand the capacity of the shipyards at all levels, he expressed his determination to take national steps to build up our Navy which plays an important role in defending the maritime sovereignty of the country and exercising the war deterrent.

He encouraged the warship and weapon system institutes to achieve greater success in their efforts to implement the Party Central Committee's idea and line of building a powerful army, deeply mindful of their historic mission.

He gave an instruction to complete the trial process of the destroyer in a responsible manner and commission it for the Navy within two months.

Five years have passed since the new childcare policy was adopted thanks to respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ’s noble view on younger generations.

At the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea five years ago, he proposed the renewing of the childcare policy as a key agenda item. He saw to it that a policy was adopted for supplying all the children throughout the country with dairy products and other nutritious food at the expense of the state.

The new childcare policy was a bold decision made by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un with fatherly love for the children during a period of unprecedented hardships, as he hopes they grow up well on a good diet in a favorable environment.

The policy institutionalized the daily supply of fresh dairy products to all the children in the country so that nutritious food can reach every child on a regular basis.

Thanks to the great motherly care and affection, our children grow up healthier and more happily in good shape.

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI and the Korean Friendship Association of the UK ( KFA UK),  issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the passing away of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG , the sun of Juche and eternal leader of the Korean people and Workers' Party of Korea;

 We Juche Idea followers and true friends of People's Korea in the UK recall the great leader President KIM IL SUNG , who passed away 32 years ago on the 8th of July 1994.  His great exploits shine forever in our memory . 

A delegation of the then Juche Idea Study Group of England was the last British delegation to be in the DPRK shortly before President KIM IL SUNG passed away.                 

   President KIM IL SUNG worked all his life for the independence of the people. . He was a tireless fighter who battled against imperialism all his life, leading the Korean people first against the rapacious Japanese imperialists, then against the barbaric US imperialists . President KIM IL SUNG waged a 15 year long  armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists becoming a legendary general distinguished by his adroit guerrilla tactics .He gave the Korean people independence and liberation ,something that is so precious it cannot be bartered for billions of tons of gold bullion.
   President KIM IL SUNG was the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander and gifted military strategist who defeated the US imperialist aggressors who had tried to crush People's Korea when it was in its cradle .Thus again he defended the independence of the people.
    Under the leadership of  the great leader President KIM IL SUNG ,two stages of revolution were carried out : the anti-imperialist ,anti-feudal democratic revolution and the socialist revolution .He founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) , an unique socialist state of Juche centred on the popular masses ,a peoples paradise. The DPRK is a most durable ,stable and harmonious socialist state.
                                   
          The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG ensured that Rightist and Leftist deviations were avoided in the construction of socialism. Moreover socialism in Korea was not a copy of another country but Korean-style socialism, an independent Juche socialism. The DPRK upheld socialist principles when others introduced capitalist-style methods.

   Independence, independence and independence was the creed of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG . He authored the Juche Idea which lights the road of independence for the popular masses and teaches us that man is the master of everything .The Juche idea captivated the anti-imperialists and revolutionaries throughout the world .Thousands of seminars on the Juche idea have been held all over the world.
                                                          

    Comrade KIM IL SUNG always struggled uncompromisingly against US led world imperialism . He upheld unity against division when the international communist movement and socialist camp suffered from sharp differences. The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG held high the red flag of socialism when others abandoned it. He was a great revolutionary true to his faith until the very last moments of his life. President KIM IL SUNG put forward the line of global independence and was known as the sun of the world revolution.

 We remember  great  President KIM IL SUNG as the eternal leader of the Korean people and WPK ,  the greatest of great leaders who was the author of the Juche idea, the benevolent liberator of the Korean people, the ever-victorious iron-willed commander and the outstanding leader of the world revolution. The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK) issued the following joint statement on the 9th  anniversary of the successful test fire of the Hwasong 14 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM).

                                           

 9 years ago on the 4th of July 2017 the DPRK,  in the presence of supreme leader respected Marshal KIM JONG UN  , successfully test-fired the Hwasong 14 ICBM .  This event became known as the "July 4 Revolution' in the DPRK . The  test of the Hwasong 14  dealt a crushing blow to the US imperialists schemes to militarily overpower People's Korea . At the same time the Hwasong 14 test was an assertion of the DPRK's independence  and brave defiance of the imperialist sanctions against People's Korea .
 The Hwasong 14 test fire demonstrated fully the might of self-reliance , the might of Juche . Today the DPRK is raising higher the  banner of self-reliance and self-sufficiency .
 Guided by Juche and Songun and upholding the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance  and the spirit of the 'July 4th revolution ' the DPRK will defeat the US imperialists and win final victory

June 29 is a significant day marking the 10th anniversary when respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was elected as President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Thanks to the wise leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un who is the most prominent thinker and theoretician in the present world, great strategist of the state building and great master of the creation and change, a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of socialism has been laid in our country and national power and position have been remarkably enhanced over the past decade.

All sectors of the national economy have seen upward trend, ideal streets and houses for people are being built across the country including Pyongyang. Such socialist assets as Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm, Kangdong Greenhouse Farm, Yangdok Hot Spring Resort, Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area are mushrooming.

In line with the programme of the rural revolution in the new era and regional development policy, modern regional industry factories and leisure complexes are being built in 20 counties every year, thus creating eye-opening reality where the people in the capital city envies the other provinces and the regional prosperity represents the advance and development of our state.

Report of KFA UK Online Meeting for the 10th anniversary of the election of respected comrade KIM JONG UN 29.06.2026

 The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held an online meeting to mark the 10th anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as President of State Affairs of the DPRK . Participating were KFA UK members from London , the north west and Scotland as well guests from KFA International , KFA Andalusia , KFA Germany and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland  .

KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson said that “During the past 10 years under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN construction work has leaped forward at the speed of Chollima without marking time or stagnation . All obstacles like the sanctions of the imperialists -lets remember that the DPRK is under massive sanctions not just by the US (which has just announced that it it is extending the so-called emergency against the DPRK ) but by the UN Security Council  , UK , EU  as well as  natural disasters have been pushed aside thanks to the self-reliant efforts of the Korean people and the dynamic leadership of Marshal KIM JONG UN , a leader who knows only progress and advance. The draconian sanctions of the imperialists have not been able to halt the advance of People’s Korea .The secret weapons of the Korean people are the Juche idea and the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .

When I visited Pyongyang in April 2024 not only did I see many changes but I can truly say that I had never seen building work being carried out on such a big scale than before .Looking out of my hotel room window I saw a multi-story block of flats under construction and construction work going on all over Pyongyang . Visiting the DPRK some 18 months later in October 2025 I again saw big changes  . Construction projects that had been under way during my 2024 visit had been completed. A whole new district on the route to the airport had appeared .”

KFA Germany in their contribution to the meeting praised the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and said that the DPRK was ever prospering .

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) and the  Korean Friendship Association  of the UK (KFA UK ) issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 96th  anniversary the historic Kalun meeting and the speech made by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG  The Path of the Korean Revolution;
  96 years ago President KIM IL SUNG addressed a meeting of the leading activists and cadres of the Young Communist League of Korea and the Anti-Imperialist Youth League . In those days the Korean people were looking for a new way to successfully conduct the revolutionary struggle for independence and national liberation as well as the struggle for class liberation . In the past bourgeois nationalists had tried to conduct the independence movement by relying on big powers and also just among a few top-level leaders . The emergence of the communist movement in Korea had proved to be a false dawn because it became quickly split into rival factions who competed against each other for recognition from the Communist International  and did not conduct revolutionary struggle among the masses . People groaned in despair.

    The young President KIM IL SUNG keenly realised that this was not the way forward . He stressed that the Korean revolution should be carried out independently and by relying on the popular masses.
 In his speech  'The Path of the Korean Revolution  ' he explained his ideas and put forward the Juche -orientated line of the Korean revolution. In the speech he castigated the factionalists and flunkeys and said that  “The masters of the revolutionary struggle are the masses of the people, and only when they are organized and mobilized can they win the revolutionary struggle.”
   This is the basis of the Juche idea and it can be said that the Juche Idea was first proclaimed to the world  in the speech made at Kalun .
  In the speech President KIM IL SUNG set forth the revolutionary line of armed struggle, original line of the anti-Japanese national united front and Juche-oriented policy of party founding for the first time in the history of the national liberation struggle in colonial countries, and dynamically led the revolution along the road of Juche.
  Since then the Korean revolution has never looked back and never marked time. Thanks to the correct line set down at the Kalun meeting , the line of Juche , the Korean people gained independence and built an independent socialist power of Juche .
  Today People's Korea  is advancing under the banner of the Juche idea  smashing the sanctions of the US-led hostile forces !

Speech of Dr Dermot Hudson to the KFA UK Picket of the US Embassy 27.06.2026

 We are here today picketing the US embassy because a few days ago on Tuesday  25th of June , it was the 76th anniversary of the provocation of the Korean War which is known as the Fatherland Liberation War in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea . The was was not a war between Koreans but between a small country , the DPRK , and the American empire. Indeed it was a war against Korea , against the Korean people. 

Let’s remember that the US is not some wonderful land of ‘freedom and democracy ‘ by the head of a giant corrupt empire that gave you Jeffrey Epstein and has military bases in every corner of the globe.

 The US imperialists, the ringleader of world imperialism and international reactionaries, provoked a war in Korea on the 25th of June 1950 by instigating their south Korean puppets to attack the young Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The US imperialists were hungry for profits and conquest. The US imperialists fought an unjust aggressive war against the Korean people. The US imperialists launched a war of conquest against the DPRK , a war to destroy the Juche-based people's democratic system in the DPRK as well as to destroy socialism in Asia and the world.

The Korean people led by the great revolutionary leader Marshal KIM IL SUNG, a true military strategic genius and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander  fought a fierce anti-imperialist, anti-US struggle against US imperialism and the allied forces of international reaction. It was a fierce class struggle against the enemies of the people. The Korean people fought a national liberation war against the Yankee imperialist invaders, a war of justice for independence and freedom. The Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people proved to  a crucible of the great Juche  idea of self-reliance.

The great leader President KIM IL SUNG said that “ The Fatherland Liberation War waged by our people was a fierce ,anti-imperialist , anti-US struggle against the allied forces of world reaction headed by US imperialism and a bitter class struggle against the enemies of the people"

                 

  We condemn the appalling barbarity of the US imperialists during the Fatherland Liberation War . We denounce their crimes of massacring civilians, use of biological and chemical weapons. 35,383 people were murdered by the US at Sinchon -ri and 1,050 people at Susan-ri (one third of the population of the area),  just to give a few examples.  The US carpetbombed Korea , dropping 18 bombs per kilometre. They also used biological and chemical weapons. By starting the Korean War 76 years ago , the US waged a genocidal war of extermination against the Korean people killing millions.

. History will curse forever the US imperialists as criminals as well as an enemy of humanity and progress. Indeed US imperialism is the ringleader of aggression and war. As proved by the recent racial violence and oppression of black people. it is the US that is the biggest human rights violator in the world.

                     

    The US imperialists continue to occupy south Korea to this very  day ,ignoring the will of the Korean people and the voices of world progressives. The US imperialists have committed crimes in south Korea too numerous to mention. They are exploiting the south Korean people by taking huge sums of money in so-called "upkeep expenses". The US imperialists have introduced anthrax into south Korea in order to commit genocide against the Korean nation. This is a horrendous crime. The US imperialists have also tried to stifle the DPRK using the "human rights " issue and used the UN against the DPRK."

Today the DPRK is the most advanced socialist state which provides free housing , free education  , free health care and many other benefits for the people. It is a society without unemployment , without knife crime or vandalism . We defend People’s Korea against US imperialism.

The U.S. and the ROK are pushing forward with the ROK's possession of a nuclear submarine while getting evermore undisguised in their moves towards the reinforcement and modernization of armed forces in the region, and they have so often staged military drills and espionage acts against the DPRK, extremely aggravating the situation in the Korean peninsula.

What is more dangerous is that the U.S. and the ROK held again a meeting of the "Nuclear Consultative Group" (NCG), a nuclear war body whose purpose is to attack the DPRK with nuclear elements such as nuclear and conventional integration posture . Such meetings were held proving that the US and ROK are planning a nuclear war.

This clearly proves the criminal nature of the body pushing the situation in the Korean peninsula to the brink of a nuclear war

So in fact the War was never really over but continues today. We say 

US out of Korea 

Defend People’s Korea.

The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held a picket of the US Embassy in London on the 27th of June at 1500 hours  to mark the Day of Struggle against US imperialism and the 76th anniversary of the provocation of the Fatherland Liberation War by the US imperialists . Participating in the picket were officials and activists of the Korean Friendship Association UK as well progressive ,democratic and anti-imperialist activists from a wide range of organisations.

Picketers braved the abnormally hot weather to show solidarity with People’s Korea .

Dr Dermot Hudson chairman of  KFA UK addressed the picket saying that “We are here today picketing the US embassy because a few days ago on Tuesday  25th of June , it was the 76th anniversary of the provocation of the Korean War which is known as the Fatherland Liberation War in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea . The was was not a war between Koreans but between a small country , the DPRK , and the American empire. Indeed it was a war against Korea , against the Korean people. 

Let’s remember that the US is not some wonderful land of ‘freedom and democracy ‘ by the head of a giant corrupt empire that gave you Jeffrey Epstein and has military bases in every corner of the globe.”

A message of solidarity from KFA Germany was read out by KFA UK Organisation secretary Alan Bolon which stated “The US-imperialists threw 600 000 tons of bombs and napalm bombs on the DPRK. 600 000 tons. Almost four times as much as on Japan during the pacific war. An unimaginable high number. One ton is 1000 kilograms. So the US-imperialists threw 600 million kilos of bombs and napalm bombs on Korea. Those bombs did not just hit military targets. These bombs destroyed over 50 000 industrial facilities, over 4500 school buildings, almost 600 scientific facilities, over 8000 cultural and media facilities and over 2 million dwelling houses. That´s a 2 with six zeros. 

But has there been any reparation? Any apology? No, the contrary! The US-imperialists still try to destroy the DPRK. Until this they UNC-troops, including soldiers from Germany and the UK are stationed in the south Korean fascist puppet regime. Until this day the US-imperialists threaten the DPRK with aggressive military maneuvers and try to economically destroy the DPRK with sanctions.”

Members of different organisations addressed the picket stressing the need for solidarity with the DPRK against US imperialism .

Speech of KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson to the joint KFA UK -KFA Hungary meeting on the start of the Month of Solidarity with the Korean people.

It was on this very day that the ROK(south Korean ) puppet regime acting under the orders of the US provoked the Fatherland Liberation War which is referred to by the mainstream media as the Korean War , although it was not a war between Koreans but between a small country , the DPRK , and the American empire. Indeed it was a war against Korea , against the Korean people .As Marshal KIM JONG UN said to a conference of war veterans in 2015 that the Fatherland Liberation War was “a confrontation between rifle and atomic bomb.”


One of the most persistent myths and biggest lies in the West about the Korean War is that People’s Korea started the war and is used to demonise the DPRK to this very day and justify US aggression against the DPRK..

In fact an old teacher of mine told me a story that you won’t find in the Western history books;. On June 26th 1950 he was taking a party of children from his school around the offices of the ‘Daily Herald ‘ ( a long defunct newspaper ) when they started the visit the ticker tape coming out said ‘ south Korea attacks north Korea’ ‘ but when they were finishing the visit this had been changed to ‘north Korea attacks south Korea’ . It just shows you even then how the media manufactures the news ! .

To the above anecdote the following can be added ;

Firstly,The famous American journalist John Gunther wrote in his book “Riddle of McArthur” that a US staff officer in Tokyo on the 25th of June was called to the phone and came back and whispered, “A big story has just broken. The South Koreans have attacked North Korea."’

Secondly,On the morning of the 25th of June 650 US women and children were evacuated by the Norwegian ship the Reinford at 3am in the morning. US accounts put the war as starting at 6am so how would the US know in advance to plan the evacuation of its nationals?


Thirdly,Choe Dok Sin ,former South Korean Army commander, south Korean foreign minister and South Korean ambassador to the UN stated he saw the secret order of Syngham Rhee(south Korean puppet dictator) to start the war .


Fourthly,On January 26th 1950 the US concluded the US-south Korea Mutual Defence Treaty. On the 14th of April 1950 a then secret directive of US National Security Council directive NSC 68 authorised the start of the Korean war.


All the above facts show that it was not the DPRK that provoked or started the Fatherland Liberation War but the south Korean puppets egged on by their Yankee overlords

I would also point out that John Foster Dulles , US envoy , was in south Korea 7 days before the war broke out . If the US did not provoke the war what was he doing there ?


. I would recommend people read the excellent ‘ The US imperialists Started the Korean War ‘ and ' DISTORTION OF US PROVOCATION OF KOREAN WAR’ .

The US imperialists, the ringleader of world imperialism and international reactionaries, provoked a war in Korea on the 25th of June 1950 by instigating their south Korean puppets to attack the young Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The US imperialists were hungry for profits and conquest. The US imperialists fought an unjust aggressive war against the Korean people. The US imperialists launched a war of conquest against the DPRK , a war to destroy the Juche-based people's democratic system in the DPRK as well as to destroy socialism in Asia and the world.



President KIM IL SUNG summed up the Fatherland Liberation War as follows

“The Fatherland Liberation War waged by our people was a fierce ,anti-imperialist , anti-US struggle against the allied forces of world reaction headed by US imperialism and a bitter class struggle against the enemies of the people”

The Korean people in contrast to the US and its satellites fought a war on their own soil to defend their independence and the people’s democratic system. It was also a class struggle against the capitalists and landlords in south Korea and former capitalists and landlords within the DPRK who wanted to restore the capitalist system


The Fatherland Liberation War of the Korean people proved to be a fiery crucible of the great Juche idea and self-reliance.

The US threw into the war unprecedented numbers of troops and amounts of materials , including troops from 15 of their satellite countries including to our eternal shame those from Britain .Prescription charges for medicine were introduced by the government to pay for the cost of sending British troops which showed that the aggressive war against the Korean people was paralleled by reactionary policies at home.

The war was a struggle against US imperialism and the allied forces of world reaction which unfortunately included the British Labour government but significantly fascist , reactionary and feudal regimes such as Apartheid South Africa, Colombia of the death squads, fascist Greece and Haile Selaissie's Ethiopia .


Another myth was that it was a war for ‘freedom and democracy “A US air force general, Curtis Le May who commanded US forces in the Korean War said "We went over there and fought the war and eventually burned down every town in North Korea anyway, someway or another, and some in South Korea too. Over a period of three years or so, we killed off - what - twenty percent of the population of Korea"


Le May went on to become an American politician and a US vice-presidential candidate for the far right racist "American Independent Party " in the 1960s. Le May supported segregation in the USA


It was surely no coincidence that George Lincoln Rockwell the founder and leader of the American Nazi Party served as a lieutenant commander in the US imperialist forces during the war! . In reality the US had waged a racist ,genocidal war against the Korean people.The US imperialists tried to exterminate the Korean people by carrying out the war that they long planned

The barbarity of the US imperialists during the war was beyond human description.At least 1.2 million people were killed by the US. 35,383 people were murdered by the US at Sinchon -ri and 1,050 people at Susan-ri (one third of the population of the area), just to give a few examples.Sinchon county was the American Auschwitz .

I myself have visited the Sinchon museum which has now been renamed the Sinchon Class Education Centre , some 5 times , 3 times to the old museum(which was spread over 2 sites ) and the new expanded and modernised museum twice in 2015 and 2017 . I have met survivors of the massacre by US troops and also participated in an international rally at Sinchon in 2013 . In 2017 I actually made a speech at Sinchon.

During the Fatherland Liberation War the US carpet bombed the DPRK .During the Korean War the U.S. imperialist aggressors reduced the cities and villages in the northern half of Korea to debris, in breach of war laws and regulations banning attack or bombardment on peaceful cities, villages, dwelling houses and buildings by any means. This war represented a history laying bare the brutality of the U.S. imperialist aggressors and their crimes.

Blustering that they would wipe 78 cities of north Korea off the surface of the earth, the U.S. imperialist aggressors massively bombed and shelled the whole territory of the northern half of Korea and even used internationally banned napalm bombs and bio-chemical bombs, thus turning its whole territory into wilderness of cinders and ashes.

The atrocities committed by the U.S. imperialists on the ground and in the sea and air resulted in severely destroying 50,941 buildings of industrial establishments, 28,632 school buildings at all levels, 4,534 public health buildings including hospitals and clinics, 579 scientific research institutions, 8,163 printing and cultural institutions and 2,077,226 dwelling houses. 7,491 churches, chapels, cathedrals and other buildings for religious services disappeared. This brought the total number of severely damaged buildings to 2,416,407.

Railways extending 4,879 km, roads extending 4,009 km and bridges totaling 1,109 km and 1,489 locomotives, 4,803 trucks and 6,281 fishing boats and ships were destroyed, and 1,715 reservoirs and relevant facilities were blown up or destroyed, causing tremendous human, material and environmental damage.

It should also be mentioned that the US used biological and chemical warfare against the Korean people . The use of germ weapons was confirmed at the time by the confessions of captured US pilots and by an international scientific fact finding delegation which included the famous British scientist Professor Joseph Needham . Although the US tried to deny the use of germ weapons dismissing it as propaganda later research by Japanese expert Professor Masataka Mori revealed the DPRK’s story to be true.


The war exposed the barbarity and decadence of US imperialism . As President KIM IL SUNG said "Engels once called the British army the most brutal army. During the Second World War, the German fascist army surpassed the barbarism of the British army. No human brain could ever imagine more diabolic and terrible cruelty than those done by the Hitler gangsters at that time. But in Korea, the Americans have far exceeded the Hitlerites!"

Today 76 years after the provocation of the war the US hostile policy towards the DPRK and over 30,000 US troops plus nuclear weapons remain in south Korea . We must campaign against them .

KCNA Commentary on Reckless Acts of Japan, Defeated Country

Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Japan's moves to turn itself into a military giant are getting evermore undisguised. Against this backdrop, it launched frenzied drill Resolute Dragon in the archipelago in collusion with the U.S.

The annual drill Resolute Dragon is a war rehearsal simulating an actual war, which started from 2021 under the signboard of "improving the U.S.-Japan joint capability to counter the threat of aggression" by someone, non-existent. Japan has steadily increased its capability to launch an act of aggression through the drill.

In the last year's drill alone, Japan increased the number of the "Self-Defense Forces" by ten times as compared with the first drill in which some 1 400 forces were involved, and greatly expanded the facilities used for the drill.

Moreover, the SDF's role was remarkably enhanced in training for reconnaissance, the primary stage in preemptive attack on opponents.

This year's drill is also being thoroughly subordinated to reconfirming the operational capability of the war machine called Japan and hastening the moment of actual war.

V-22 Osprey cargo planes of the Ground "SDF" are using the U.S. military base in Okinawa Prefecture for the first time and increasing the capability to rapidly transport aggression forces anywhere in the archipelago. And furthermore the drill includes a drone training aimed to draw on the experience of the Ukrainian battlefields and master new combat methods in modern warfare.

This fully proves the aggressive and offensive nature of the Resolute Dragon.

What matters is that recently Japan has further promoted military ties with the U.S., aggravating the situation in the surrounding region.

In February, Japan repeatedly staged joint air drills with the U.S. in the sky above the surroundings of the Korean peninsula with the mobilization of F-2 and F-15 fighters. And subsequently it conducted the joint drill Iron Fist with the U.S. Marines in its mainland.

Especially, Japan dispatched the "SDF" troops to take an active part in the U.S.-led multinational military drill in the Asia-Pacific region between April and May for the first time.

What should not be overlooked is that Japan, which had participated in the military drill as an observer until last year, not only hurled war forces this year but also openly launched long-range strike means developed for preemptive attack on neighboring countries during the drill.

Clear is Japan's purpose of deepening military integration with the U.S. It is the real intention of the Japanese militarists to justify Japan's transformation into a war state and become the "leader of Asia" at an early date by taking advantage of the present chaotic international situation created by their master's rogue act intended to contain the enemy countries and rival states in the region and realize its ambition for hegemony.

Originally, it is Japan's inveterate bad habit to attain its aggressive purpose with the backing of a big country.

It is obvious that if the defeated country of Asia, closely watched by the international community, completes all preparations for the operation of war machine for overseas aggression under the active backing of the U.S., it will surely create a grave crisis threatening peace and stability 1n the Korean peninsula and the region.

However, Japan should not act rashly, mindful that its rush to mount a reinvasion while serving the world's biggest war merchant will only bring a miserable end. -0-

                      29th  June 2026The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) and the Korean Friendship Association  of the UK (KFA UK  ) issued the following joint statement on the occasion  of the 10th   anniversary of the election of the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN as President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea:
  

  The election of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as President  of the State Affairs  ten years ago on the 29th of June 2016 fully reflected the enthusiastic support of the entire Korean people for the dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN who is leading the Korean people to victory! It was a clear manifestation of the unanimous will of the Korean people as well as their deep reverence for respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as well as their profound trust in him. It was an example of people's democracy in action because dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was unanimously elected by the Supreme People's Assembly which in turn had been elected by the people decisively. Unlike the UK where only 68.7  per cent of electors voted, in the DPRK the Supreme People's Assembly was elected by nearly 100 per cent of electors!
   

 Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has been at the helm of the state and party of the DPRK for ten years leading  to victory after victory against the imperialist reactionary forces. He has implemented the great revolutionary line of building the nuclear force and economy in parallel and has greatly improved the living standards of the Korean people turning the DPRK into a paradise of socialist bliss for the people. Under dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN leadership the deterrent force of the DPRK has been increased and the DPRK is maintaining robust independence.  Dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has put forward the brilliant idea of self-development first and self-reliance which is creating a great upsurge in socialist construction. There has been extraordinarily rapid progress  in socialist construction  with the town and cities of the DPRK changing their appearance day after day with new streets such as Hwasong Street rising up out of bare earth,

      Great achievements have been made in consolidating the DPRK's Juche -based national defence power ; for example the DPRK was able to launch two new destroyer ships.

  Only victory and glory are in store for the Korean people under the leadership of dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN ,  President of State Affairs the DPRK!

Ten Remarkable years !-special article marking the 10th anniversary of the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as President of the State Affairs of the DPRK

Ten years ago  on the 29th of June 2016  respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was elected as Chairman of the newly created State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK ) by the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK . Later the title of Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK became known as the President of the State Affairs of the DPRK . Respected comrade KIM JONG UN had been guiding the party and the state since April 2012 and his election to the post of President of State Affairs of the DPRK reflected the trust and confidence of the Korean people in the leadership abilities of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .

The years from 2016 in the DPRK  have been truly ten remarkable years; ten years of growth , prosperity, innovation , dynamism  and development which even the capitalist reactionaries like the Wall Street Journal now have to grudgingly admit that People’s Korea is developing rapidly . The source of the DPRK’s miraculous development is not outside assistance or a benefactor but the DPRK’s own internal strength which is based on self-reliance and single -hearted unity .

During the past ten years in which Marshal KIM JONG UN has presided over the DPRK’s growth I have visited the DPRK  11 times and each time I have seen big changes particularly on my last two visits in 2024 and 2025. Literally high rise buildings has risen up from bare earth one after another , the whole face of Pyongyang has changed . The area between Pyongyang Sunan International Airport and the centre of Pyongyang looks unrecognisable , my guide told me that Hwasong Street was only a few years ago rice fields .

The pace of construction work has been truly massive ; new streets and residential areas such as Ryomyong Street , Songwha Street, Hwasong Street , Jonwi street , Saeppyol Street and the Kyongru-dong residential area.  Over 100, 000 new homes have been built in rural areas . Recently the 2nd Plenary meeting  of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea took the wonderful decision to build new housing in mining areas of the DPRK . 

It is not just new housing that has been built but also new Greenhouse farms such as the Kangdong Greenhouse Farm which I visited in 2024 , this is a state owned farm that is the size of a town and equipped with the latest technology , in fact it looked like something out of science fiction . A new state of the art hospital, the Pyongyang General Hospital , has been constructed in the centre of Pyongyang and there are plans to build 100 new hospitals .

It can be said that the pace of construction in the DPRK has accelerated considerably in the DPRK in the last ten years but these has not been under ideal conditions for the DPRK has faced sanctions by the US imperialists , the UN Security Council and entities such as the EU . The DPRK also suffered a lot of natural disasters which would have caused any other country to crumple up and disappear but thanks to the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN and the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance , People’s Korea has prospered and is entering a period of the comprehensive development of socialism .

Respected comrade KIM JONG UN has also most actively pushed forward the work of national defence in order to make sure that the great achievements outlined above will not be reduced to naught by a destructive war .The DPRK is a nuclear power and a missile power and it will soon become a great naval power .

We salute the 10th anniversary of the election of Marshal KIM JONG UN as President of the State Affairs of the DPRK  and wish for another ten remarkable years of the dynamic leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN !
