The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK) issued a joint statement on the 99th anniversary of the foundation of the Young Communist League of Korea (YCLK) by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG

    Th 28th of August is  the 99th anniversary of the foundation of the Young Communist League of Korea , the proud revolutionary forerunner of today's Socialist Patriotic Youth League In the DPRK the 28th of August is proudly celebrated as Youth Day.
   On the 28th of August 1927 the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG formed the Young Communist League of Korea with members of the Anti-Imperialist Youth League of Korea which in turn had been formed with members from the Down -With -Imperialism Union the first communist revolutionary organisation .
   The formation of the YCLK opened a new chapter in the history of the Juche-orientated communist movement in Korea . The great leader comrade KIM JONG IL wrote that "Under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim II Sung during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, the young communists and other young patriots blazed the trail for the Korean revolution, defeated Japanese imperialism and accomplished the historic cause of liberating the country. In the course of the noble struggle for national liberation waged under his wise leadership, the Korean communist youth movement originated and its glorious traditions were established. "
  The great leader President KIM IL SUNG thus formed a new communist revolutionary movement in Korea based on youth that was completely from the poison of factionalism and totally committed to anti-imperialist and communist revolutionary ideas .
   The tradition of attaching great importance to youth work was established by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG . In some former socialist countries youth were regarded as a source of trouble as they were frequently the first to succumb to the imperialist ideological and cultural infiltration but in People's Korea youth are the pride of the nation , they are the vanguard and shock brigade of socialist construction .
  We congratulate the Korean people on the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the Young Communist League of Korea.

Japan's Increased Defence Budget Will Escalate "Security Deficit": KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- Japan's sinister intention to accelerate its drive for turning itself into a war state while deceiving the international community has been brought to light.

It was reported on Aug. 18 that the Japanese Defence Ministry is going to request about 8.9 trillion yen as the fiscal 2027 budget for "defence cost".

But the final amount of the "defense cost" will reportedly increase to 10 trillion yen at the time of budgeting at the end of the year, for there exist more than 150 "items required" without specific cost.

Such increase in Japan's "defence cost," which will hit an all-time high, means the expansion of the dangerous war budget that will bring new turmoil to the region and other parts of the world.

Historically, Japan has increased the "defence cost" to a record level every year and turned the "Self-Defence Forces" into modern preemptive attack forces in a crafty way of adding to the budget, hyping "threat from neighboring countries".

According to three security documents, including the "national security strategy" published at the end of 2022, the Japanese reactionaries set the "defence cost" for 2023-2027 totaling about 43 trillion yen and assert that it is adjusted and spent by yearly installments. This is no more than a lame excuse and deceptive farce.

As for the "defence cost" for 2026 only, the present Japanese regime claimed it is 9.0353 trillion yen, 3.8 percent increase from the initial budget in 2025, but in fact it has made the biggest "leap" by exceeding 10 trillion yen.

It is not difficult to imagine the tremendous scale of next year's military spending, which will further expand at the end of this year, and it is clear that such huge military spending will lead to arms buildup for rounding off the preparations for a war of aggression.

In fact, Japan is to spend the money for the development of underwater-launched hypersonic missile, massive deployment of attack drones, such strengthened response to "new warfare" as the introduction of AI into the SDF command system and additional deployment of long-range missiles "capable of attacking enemy bases".

What merits attention is the fact that Japan's military spending, the highest in the world, is accompanied by the astronomical amount of state debt.

As known, Japan's state debt exceeded 1 343 trillion yen at the end of 2025, an increase of 1.5 percent from the previous year's, consecutively breaking records over a decade.

Meanwhile, Japan renewed the previous record in its "defence cost", thus becoming the world's sixth largest weapon importer in 2021-2025.

Despite such deteriorating financial situation, the Japanese reactionaries are spending a huge amount of money, collected from the people as taxes, for massively securing various long-range strike means like the U.S.-made Tomahawk cruise missiles and developing offensive weaponry. It is as clear as noonday that this is not for building a "pacifist state".

It is a foolish dream to think that their vicious militarist nature, characterized by aggression and war, can be concealed with the veil of "defence" and "self- defence".

With such reckless arms buildup, it is impossible to guarantee the future of the archipelago and the record-breaking war budget will only escalate its "security deficit".

The righteous regional community will never overlook the military evolution of the descendants of the war criminal nation disturbing peace and security of the world but thoroughly counter it by concerted efforts. -0-

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK  ) issued a statement announcing the formation of the UK Preparatory Committee For Celebrating the 78th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic People's Republic  of Korea(DPRK). 

The UK Preparatory Committee For Celebrating the 78th Anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK has formed by the Korean Friendship Association of the UK  , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and progressive and anti-imperialist parties with Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of KFA UK as secretary and Andy Brooks ,general secretary of the New Communist Party as Honorary Chairman .

The foundation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the 9th of September 1948  heralded the birth of powerful Juche-oriented socialist state , a people centred socialist state . It was of great significance not just for the Korean people but the world progressive and revolutionary people .

Our committee will organise activities such as an online meeting to mark the 78th anniversary of the foundation of the DPRK .

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK  )  , issued the following joint statement in support  of the press statement made of comrade Kim Yo Jong , department director of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea , was titled "Poor plight of Seoul unable to play a war game it liked very much" and made on the 20th of August ;

Recently , it was announced that the Ulji Freedom Shield military exercise  was to conclude earlier than planned as the US president had ordered the reduction in scale of the war game unilaterally and without any consultation with the US's supposed "ally "  , the Republic of Korea (ROK ) .The reduction in the war game was announced only a few hours before its start . The ROK puppets are looking very silly indeed.

Comrade Kim Yo Jong observed that "The ROK cannot let out a single word of protest at the GIs leaving without any mutual coordination at the U.S. chief executive's unilateral order. This is the inevitable fate of the puppet army, whose right to command has been left in the hands of the U.S., and the true situation of the ROK, whose security has been placed at stake due to a reduction of the joint military drill and who brags about its "enough capability for self-defence" despite its defence and security being under the care of outsiders."

The debacle over the early end of Ulji Freedom Shield shows that the relationship between the US and ROK is a master and servant one . The Seoul regime is nothing but a puppet regime . The ROK even has to pay the US for the cost of the US troops occupying south Korea.

As comrade Kim Yo Jong observes "The whole territory of the ROK would be insufficient to curry favour with the cruel master.". This is indeed true.

Comrade Kim Yo Jong's press statement is a truly excellent one which proves the truth that the ROK is nothing but a puppet . We strongly recommend that this statement is studied and widely distributed.

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, released the following press statement "Poor plight of Seoul unable to play a war game it liked very much" on August 20:

Ulji Freedom Shield, a large-scale rehearsal for an aggressive war being conducted by the U.S. and the ROK in the ROK, was given a frosty reception right after its kick-off.

Trump issued a sudden order to reduce the scale of the drill. This has placed Seoul in a poor plight of discontinuing the "war game" it liked very much.

It will be something like the first "trouble" to the ROK, unprecedented in the history of U.S.-ROK joint military exercises, in the context that it has never seen the scale of a war game reduced to become coreless right after its kick-off with no prior discussion.

The ROK cannot let out a single word of protest at the GIs leaving without any mutual coordination at the U.S. chief executive's unilateral order. This is the inevitable fate of the puppet army, whose right to command has been left in the hands of the U.S., and the true situation of the ROK, whose security has been placed at stake due to a reduction of the joint military drill and who brags about its "enough capability for self-defence" despite its defence and security being under the care of outsiders.

The plight of the ROK, which is compelled to stop the "war game" it liked very much, is showing the structure of the relation between master and servant called the "U.S.-ROK blood alliance" of which it has boasted.

As recognized generally, this unforeseen consequence is an evident disaster brought by the unrealistic and anachronistic security outlook pursued by the ROK authorities who have ceaselessly repeated unnecessary attempts to reverse the regional mechanical structure controlled by a nuclear-armed nation, blinded by their firm belief in the U.S. master.

The ROK has reaped what it sowed.

The ROK authorities are hyping it as an "occasion for new phase and good opportunity for a change in relations" to cover up their poor plight, which is nothing but a lame excuse.

Lee Jae Myung curried favor with the U.S. in public by uttering shameful words that he pays "respects" for Trump's "decisive rollback decision" and it was a "decision from deep consideration" and then talked about "independent national defence" and "independent buildup of military capabilities" to prepare for the "worst scenario". Such double-dealing behaviour vividly proves uneasiness and impatience of the ROK.

The world witnesses that the U.S. security aids are no longer free of charge.

The whole territory of the ROK would be insufficient to curry favour with the cruel master.

What about deeply considering its position of complete subordination and finding a way of existence on this occasion?

Seoul should be aware of the unavoidable fate of the "puppet". -0-

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK  )  , issued the following joint statement in support  of the press statement made by comrade Kim Yo Jong , department director of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea , which clarified her stance on a number of important international issues;

On the 19th of August comrade Kim Yo Jong ,department director of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea made a wide ranging press statement clarifying her stance on a number of key international issues .At present there are a number of issues that are escalating the global security crisis.

Comrade Kim Yo Jong correctly observes that "The trend of the present unpredictable and complicated international situation is a source of the escalation of the geopolitical crisis in different parts of the world and serious concern of the international community aspiring after peace and stability." and draws attention to the worsening situation in the Middle East , Europe and in the far east and the Korean peninsula .

In Europe the Western imperialists are using Ukraine as a proxy , a puppet , to try and inflict a strategic defeat on Russia . We would add the US ,NATO and EU are using Ukraine as a strategic battering ram to achieve regime change in the Russian Federation.

Comrade Kim Yo Jong reiterates the full support of the DPRK for the efforts of the Russian government and people to defend their interests . At the same time comrade Kim Yo Jong refutes the idea being spread by the Zelensky clique that the DPRK is sending additional troops to Russia " I make clear that the theory of the "dispatch of additional troops" of our army, which the Zelenskiy group invented and propagates, is an ungrounded farce of Kiev and that the U.S. and the West are entirely responsible for the start of the Ukrainian crisis and its prolongation"

Indeed the entire responsibility for sparking the Ukrainian crisis lies entirely with the West and moreover the conflict is being prolonged by supplies of weapons and aid from Western countries.

Turning the spotlight on the long ignored issue of the Japan's reckless military expansion comrade Kim Yo Jong stresses that "The DPRK regards Japan's reweaponization as a serious threat. This means that the DPRK pays more attention to Japan and gets strong perception that it regards the latter as a military target. It also hints that Japan's security is in more dangerous state.". 

Japan's increasing militarisation and drift to the far right are a serious danger to world peace and the DPRK is correct to highlight this .

Should Japan make the wrong choice  it " will face immediate annihilating blow impossible to survive".

As to the 'late in the day ' announcement from the US president that US-ROK military exercises will be reduced , the DPRK is unmoved and unimpressed by it. Comrade Kim Yo Jong states that "As for the reduction of the U.S.-ROK joint military drill abruptly announced by the U.S. president a few days ago, we regard it as the one unworthy of comment and have no interest in it at all."

In fact the US and ROK have carried out military drills repeatedly since the beginning of the year so it is quite irrelevant for the US to announce a 'reduction ' in the scale of hostile military exercises .  In our opinion it is good that the DPRK is not fooled by the fake 'peace ' advocated by the US. Comrade Kim Yo Jong points out that "We are paying more attention to the fact that the joint military drills between the U.S. and the ROK have been steadily staged and are still under way, not to the reduction or shortening of individual drills, and we are correctly seeing through the fact that this is an obvious expression of open hostility toward the DPRK"

Comrade Kim Yo Jong also said that she was not aware of any communication between US president Trump and the Supreme leader of the DPRK even though this was claimed by the US.

The issue of the rapport between the leaders of the DPRK and US is one that should be separated from US policy towards the DPRK which to all and intents and purposes remains hostile . Comrade Kim Yo Jong points out " the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK has remained unchanged and the U.S. and its followers are now violently conducting hostile military activities against the DPRK even this moment"

The DPRK will maintain a strong deterrent.

Comrade Kim Yo Jong's press statement is a comprehensive clarification of the DPRK 's stand on international issues . We are grateful for it and believed that it should be studied widely.

The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and  the Korean Friendship Association  of  the UK  KFA UK  ),)issued the following joint statement, the 66th anniversary of the start of the  revolutionary leadership over the armed forces in the DPRK ; 

 On the 25th of August the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the homeland of Juche, will celebrate the 66th   anniversary of the start of the revolutionary leadership over the armed forces which began when comrade KIM JONG IL gave guidance to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards no 105 tank division of the Korean People's Army(KPA). The No 105 tank division is an army unit of the KPA steeped in revolutionary history as it was the first KPA unit to rush into Seoul during the great Fatherland Liberation War of  1950-1953.   

  The  revolutionary leadership  over  the armed forces of the great generalissimo KIM JONG IL began at a time when the US imperialists were causing tension all over the world such as the Vietnam war and the Cuban missile crisis. The modern revisionists, the agents of the imperialists in the international communist movement and the socialist camp, had capitulated to imperialism and were even putting pressure on the DPRK to give up its anti-imperialist stand and disarm itself, melting down tanks and guns, under the banner of 'peaceful co-existence ' and 'peaceful co-operation' with the imperialists. The great generalissimo's KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG IL  declared that the DPRK would not go down this road but would build up the people's revolutionary armed forces on the basis of self-reliance. 

    The great leader generalissimo KIM JONG IL carried forward the cause of Juche-army building and  revolutionary leadership pioneered by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG. During the five decades of his revolutionary leadership, the heroic Korean People's Army was built up splendidly in all fields not just in terms of weaponry and technique but in terms of ideology and morale. The KPA became the pillar of the Juche revolution.

                                             

                        

   Under the  revolutionary leadership of Chairman KIM JONG IL, the KPA  discharged its role of defender of the gains of socialism with honour. In the confrontation between the DPRK and the imperialist forces after the Fatherland Liberation War, the independence and security of the DPRK were safeguarded and the defence power increased.

  Thanks to the leadership over the revolutionary armed forces by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and eternal Chairman KIM JONG IL, DPRK became a strategic state.

                                                           

 Marshal KIM JONG UN  has given energetic guidance to defence upbuilding and fresh achievements and victories have been scored and peace on the Korean peninsula has been secured.

Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK, Clarifies Her Stand on Major International Affairs

 

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Wednesday expressed the following stand as regards the major international issues escalating the global security crisis:

The trend of the present unpredictable and complicated international situation is a source of the escalation of the geopolitical crisis in different parts of the world and serious concern of the international community aspiring after peace and stability.

As the evil cycle of confrontation persists in the Middle East, the epitome of conflict and chaos in the world, distrust and discord among regional countries further deepen, bloodshed lasts without cease and the unprecedented political and economic instability gets worse on a worldwide scale.

And the phase of prolonged armed conflict has entered a more serious stage in Europe owing to the reckless confrontational intention of the Western group to impose a strategic defeat on Russia by using Ukraine as an agent of a proxy war.

Even in the Korean peninsula, the biggest hotspot in the world for centuries, the regional security environment is facing constant challenges due to the U.S. and its vassal forces' attempt at geopolitical expansion and their greedy arms buildup.

The present situation of the world, where the vicious cycle of tension persists in not only the Middle East and Europe but also the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean peninsula due to the high-handed practice and the abuse of power by the hegemonic forces, calls upon all the countries to make their principled stand clearer in pursuing justice and equity and defending their national security and interests.

The DPRK remains unchanged in its view and stand that the U.S. and the West's threat to the security of Russia that has been systematically getting serious since the end of the Cold War is the main factor that triggered the present Ukrainian crisis.

The better future of Europe can not be realized apart from the core interests and will of the Russian Federation.

We think that uprooting the cause of the conflict is the main solution to putting an end to the Ukrainian crisis and ensuring sustainable and durable peace in the region. And we fully support the righteous action of the Russian government and people to defend the national sovereignty, security interests and territorial integrity.

Availing of this opportunity, I make clear that the theory of the "dispatch of additional troops" of our army, which the Zelenskiy group invented and propagates, is an ungrounded farce of Kiev and that the U.S. and the West are entirely responsible for the start of the Ukrainian crisis and its prolongation.

The overall cooperation between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation is strictly in accordance with the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the two sides which is in conformity with the purpose and principle of the UN Charter and is a legal domain of exercise of sovereign right.

The DPRK constantly maintains concentration on its duty as a contracting party of the inter-state treaty between the DPRK and Russia in conformity with it allied nature and remains boundlessly faithful to it.

The DPRK is seriously following the reckless attempt of Japan for military expansion, a dangerous factor of causing imbalance of strength in the Asia-Pacific region including the Korean peninsula and consider it a potential and prospective threat.

The DPRK regards Japan's reweaponization as a serious threat. This means that the DPRK pays more attention to Japan and gets strong perception that it regards the latter as a military target. It also hints that Japan's security is in more dangerous state.

Our military leadership already started to regard it as part of its military strategy to deter and contain the threat of Japan, which is evolving into a serious security challenge, or do something more beyond it.

In other words, this means that if Japan tries to make a wrong choice, it will face immediate annihilating blow impossible to survive.

Japan's military development is a suicidal act taking oil to extinguish the fire.

We will constantly maintain a fundamental way of approach for removing danger and ensuring genuine peace and stability from the standpoint of strong power and on the basis of the stark reality that the greatest threat to the security interests of our state and the regional security environment is coming from the U.S.

As for the reduction of the U.S.-ROK joint military drill abruptly announced by the U.S. president a few days ago, we regard it as the one unworthy of comment and have no interest in it at all.

The reduction of the scale and duration of the drill does not mean the change of the nature of the military drill with a provocative and offensive feature.

This year alone, the U.S. and the ROK have conducted joint military exercises in different spaces and spheres without space-time gap, including the bilateral air drills Buddy Squadron in February, the combined small unit drill and large-scale joint military exercises Freedom Shield in March, the U.S.-ROK Navy combined salvage exercise, combined mine warfare exercise and the combined large-scale air drills Freedom Flag in April, combined air training Hercules Guardians in May and the combined logistics support drill and bilateral air drills Buddy Squadron in July.

This suggests that the drill which was recently said to be reduced is fully substituted for such drills.

This being a hard fact, the ROK claimed that the ongoing war drill is military one of a defensive nature simulating someone's attack and talked about the strengthening of the "firm ROK-U.S. alliance" and acceleration of introduction of a nuclear submarine, fully exposing its hostile nature.

We are paying more attention to the fact that the joint military drills between the U.S. and the ROK have been steadily staged and are still under way, not to the reduction or shortening of individual drills, and we are correctly seeing through the fact that this is an obvious expression of their obvious hostility toward the DPRK.

If the U.S. calculates that it can propagate its recent measure as the one of so-called good faith, they will not get desired answer.

As for the news from Washington that shortly ago, there was a communication between the leaders of the DPRK and the U.S., I am not aware of it at all, and perhaps it may be the only thing I do not know as regards the foreign policy of our supreme leadership.

I had already clarified several times that our head of state has good memories and feelings about Trump personally.

The relationship between those two leaders is still excellent.

It is well known to the world and not a matter to be surprised, I think.

However, the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK has remained unchanged and the U.S. and its followers are now violently conducting hostile military activities against the DPRK even this moment.

Likewise, I would like to stress that the exercise of the sovereign rights of the DPRK intended to contain the forces threatening its security is very reasonable, appropriate and essential and it has nothing to do with the excellent relations between the leaders of the two countries.

History and reality prove that it is possible to maintain balanced and stable security structure of the region when the DPRK has stronger deterrent. -0-

Korea’s liberation from Japanese imperialism -a key part of the worldwide anti-fascist armed struggle -speech of KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson to the online meeting for Korea's liberation

August 15th is a day that has gone down in history as a great day for the Korean people and revolutionary peoples of the world  . It was on this day that Korea finally became free of Japanese imperialist colonial rule . The Korean people were liberated from the barbarous rule of Japanese colonialism on the 15th of August 1945 as a result of the 15 year long anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG  . The fighters of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army led by comrade KIM IL SUNG together with the Soviet Red Army who had joined the war against Japan 6 days before , routed the Japanese imperialist forces in Korea.

The decadent empire of the Samurais disappeared as if it never existed in the first place.Previously people had thought of the Japanese empire as being eternal .The Korean people were able to breathe again after the suffocating rule of Japanese imperialism .The chains of Japanese colonial slavery which had bound the Korean people for 36 years were shattered in one blow . Korean people  could again use their own language , something which the Japanese imperialists had denied to them . They became masters of their own fate. The Korean people danced for joy at the news of liberation.

The defeat of Japanese imperialism was a decisive contribution to the international anti-fascist struggle . Not only was Japan a close ally of Hitlerite Germany and fascist Italy but it was itself a fascist state under Tojo who embodied the Japanese form of fascism . The Communist Party in Japan had been banned  and trade unions dissolved .

Japanese imperialism had enforced a most ferocious colonial rule over Korea. The Japanese imperialists plundered Korea of not only rice but also gold and silver . They forced Koreans to work 12-14 hours a day and took many Koreans to Japan as forced labourers. About 1 million Koreans were killed by the Japanese imperialists . It was the Japanese holocaust but this is not talked about in the West . Another crime was that over 200,000 Korean women were forced into sexual slavery by the degenerate Japanese imperialists.

President KIM IL SUNG was the great hero who from an early age took up the struggle against Japanese imperialism.

As a young communist, patriot and revolutionary in the 1920s, he keenly realised the road of peaceful resistance, the road of dependence on big power and the road of factionalism were roads to nowhere, a massive dead end. So he set about waging the struggle against Japanese imperialist rule independently and in the spirit of self-reliance. He formed revolutionary organisations with the new generation of militant anti-imperialist youth such as the Down-With-Imperialism Union, the Young Communist League of Korea and the Anti-Imperialist Youth League. Believing that independence could only be achieved by the force of arms President KIM IL SUNG formed the Korean Revolutionary Army in July 1930. On the 25th of April 1932, the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerilla Army, later to become the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, was founded and launched the anti-Japanese war which continued for more than a decade .

             The anti-Japanese armed struggle fully proved in practice the truth of  Juche that independence is achieved by the force of arms. During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG adhering firmly to the line of Songun rejected the illusions of the national reformists and opportunists that independence could be achieved by peaceful means or by begging for it.

The anti-Japanese guerrillas led by President KIM IL SUNG, fought in the spirit of self-reliance under the banner of the Juche idea. They seized weapons from the Japanese aggressors or manufactured their own. Some had hoped that the Soviet Union, the first socialist state, would supply them with a hand-grenade factory but this never materialised so they made their own hand grenades the 'Yongil bomb'.Of course today People’s Korea has its own nuclear Yongil bomb.

     The Juche-oriented guerrilla tactics of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG and the indomitable struggle of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army (later the Korean People's Revolutionary Army ) tore the guts out of Japanese imperialism, defeating the million-strong Kwantung army of Japanese imperialism. The KPRA  fought battles at Pochonbo on the 4th of June 1937 and Musan on the 23rd of May 1939 just to mention two of the hundreds of battles fought by the KPRA.   On the 9th of August 1945, the KPRA under the command of comrade KIM IL SUNG commenced the final operation to liberate Korea from Japanese imperialist rule.  Units of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army along with the Soviet Red Army wiped out Japanese imperialist troops at the same time Korean people staged armed uprisings against the Japanese imperialists .              

                                        

   The victorious liberation struggle of the Korean people led by General KIM IL SUNG, a gifted military strategist and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander was an inspiration for the peoples of the colonial countries fighting for their independence and liberation. The 1968 World Cultural Congress in Havana adopted a document praising the anti-Japanese armed struggle waged under the leadership of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG.

    

With the victory of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, commanded by the great leader generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, in August 1945 the Korean people finally gained their emancipation from the cruel shackles of Japanese colonialism and greeted a new life of independence, a life of hope for the future. At the same time, by defeating Japanese imperialism the Korean people destroyed the last link in the international fascist axis ; fascism had been defeated in Asia as well as Europe.

The Korean people under the leadership of President KIM IL SUNG smashed feudalism and completely eradicated the legacy of Japanese colonial rule building a new People’s Korea on the ruins of Japanese imperialism. Today People’s Korea led by respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is well known as the most independent country in the world and is building a powerful socialist country of Juche.

August 15, 1945 was the happiest day of the Korean people. On that day the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) commanded by the great Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG liberated Korea from the colonial rule of Japanese imperialism.

He gave the Korean people freedom, independence and democracy.

The Korean people was the happiest people of the world!

Korea's liberation encouraged all Asian peoples who were still fighting for their own liberation from the colonial yoke of imperialist powers.

The Juche-based struggle of the Korean people for independent liberation is the model of antiimperialist liberation struggle until today.

Dear comrade Martin Lötscher,

Dear participants of this online-meeting,

Today we are here to celebrate the 81th anniversary of the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial rule. I want to ask you, you people who are in majority born in Europe and live in Europe. What do you think when you hear book burnings? Here in Germany everyone thinks about the 1933 book burnings. Shortly after the nazis took power in Germany they started to burn progressive literature including works of Karl Marx, Erich Kästner and Kurt Tucholsky. A terrible crime with the goal to destroy knowledge and a way to stop people from education themselves.

But this was not the first time books were burned and destroyed in mass. The Japanese imperialists did the same with Korean books after they occupied the Korean peninsula. What kind of books did they destroy? Revolutionary ones? Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels? Anti-Japanese ones? They searched schools and even sacred temples to find and destroy Korean history books. Some books, knowledge about Koreas history and culture was lost forever. Because the goal of the Japanese occupiers was to destroy the Korean nation as a whole. No one should speak the Korean language, have Korean names or know Koreas history. And what did Germany do? Did they sanction Japan? Did they boycott it´s products or made an ultimatum? No the contrary! To the eternal shame of my people we allied ourselves with the Japanese imperialists and supported their imperialist wars.

The Korean People´s Revolutionary Army under the leadership of great leader President KIM IL SUNG alongside the Red Army liberated Korea on the 15th August 1945. For the first time in history the Korean people in the north of the Korean peninsula were free. Free from the colonial rule and free from feudal and capitalist oppression. They could finally decide their own fate. The liberation was followed by a number of democratic reforms: men and women were finally made equal, the land was redistributed in favour of the small farmers and the factories banks etc. were nationalized. Under the leadership of great men: President KIM IL SUNG, comrade KIM JONG IL, and Marshal KIM JONG UN the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea became a strong, independent and prosperous state. Even the mainstream-media can´t deny that anymore. The wall street journal called the DPRK „The world´s most surprising economic success story“, and the New York Times referred to the DPRK´s economic success as „Miraculous transformation“. And all this is despite the brutal US-American Embargo and despite the constant threat from western imperialism!

The past can´t be changed. We can not restore destroyed books and we can not bring back dead sons to their mothers. What we can do, we Germans and British is, we can apologize for our past mistakes and we can decide to go another way for the future. A way of partnership and collaboration with the DPRK.

I want to thank comrade Dr. Dermot Hudson, organisation secretary Alan Bolon and the whole of KFA UK for organizing this meeting and spreading the truth about People´s Korea.

 Dear participants of the Online Meeting marking the 81st anniversary of Korea's liberation: First, please accept my apologies for my absence, which is due to urgent family matters. Dear participants, please hear my message: 

 Today’s meeting offers an opportunity to reflect not only on the nature and significance of the events that took place 81 years ago but also—and I believe this is crucial—on the impact those events have on the present day, both for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and for us personally. 

 You gather today to commemorate the liberation of the Korean people and to pay tribute to all those who fought for a free and independent Korea. This day is a time to reflect on the price paid for independence and to express gratitude to the heroic generations of Korea who did not yield during the darkest hours of the Japanese occupation.

 On this day commemorating the great Korean victory over the Japanese occupation, it is worth first highlighting the importance of honoring the historical legacy of the Korean people—a legacy that recalls the long years Korea spent under Japanese rule. This heritage stands as a glorious pillar of the strength possessed today by socialist, Juche Korea.

 Eighty-one years since liberation from Japanese occupation represents nearly a full century—a significant span of time for any country or nation. Yet, the true measure of time for a nation lies not merely in its passing, but in the deeds and achievements realized during that period—achievements that shape the present day—and in the case of the DPRK, these are immense. Eight decades of building the finest form of socialism—a socialism centered on human well-being and development—represent eight decades of forging a new type of socialist man: a free, conscious, and creative being, standing as the supreme entity to which the world is subordinate. 

 This process—briefly interrupted by Yankee aggression in 1950 and the victory over American imperialism—spanning these eight decades, demonstrates that the Korean path to socialism, initiated by the long struggle for liberation led by the esteemed Comrade Kim Il Sung—a path he forged first in his heart and in the fires of guerrilla warfare—is the only and most righteous path for all who harbor a yearning for freedom and independence in their souls. 

 When we look today at other countries around the world—where people suffer under the exploitation and oppression of capital, and where wealthy elite classes carve ever-deeper divisions while trampling upon the rights and freedoms of others (whose poverty is a direct consequence of those elites)—we feel all the more admiration and respect for the social, economic, and political model of People's Korea, founded upon the epoch-making Juche philosophy. It is precisely the idea of Juche—and the strength derived from it, rooted in authenticity and the power unleashed within the collective unity—that has been and remains the source of all the successes achieved by People's Korea. 

 The liberation of Korea from Japanese occupation—achieved at the cost of blood and the sacrifices of many Korean Heroes—brought a long-cherished freedom; immediately following this liberation, Korea embarked on the monumental task of building a state based on equality among all social classes, under the leadership of the proletariat. Just as the people of Korea had united in the struggle against the Japanese occupiers, so too did they remain steadfast after their victory, united as a disciplined collective characterized by high moral standards and active engagement. This high level of engagement stems not only from embracing the guiding force of the epoch-defining Juche philosophy but also from adopting the lessons and experiences of the Heroes who fought for Korea’s liberation in the anti-Japanese struggle—a struggle that culminated in the victory of 1945. This victory conveys the message that freedom is both a gift and, above all, a task—a task for us all. Please remember: A freedom is not granted once and for all; we must nurture and uphold it every day. 

 May the memory of this glorious day for the people of Korea—when the power of tradition and the legacy of the heroic deeds performed by the valiant Korean People's Army in the struggle against the Japanese occupiers find expression, united in patriotism—serve as a model and an inspiration for us in the fight for a new, just world free from exploitation and imperialist domination! 

 Glory and honor to the heroes who fell in the struggle to liberate Korea from the yoke of Japanese occupation!

We Will Exercise Our Right to Self-defence for Neutralizing Military Threat from Hostile Forces through More Transparent Action: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- The large-scale U.S.- ROK joint military exercises, Ulji Freedom Shield, began in every part of the ROK on August 17. The drill poses the most immediate and open threat to the DPRK and the regional security.

The exercises will last for over 10 days, involving U.S. troops in the ROK and the ROK army as the mainstay of the exercises as well as extra-regional U.S. reinforcements and forces of member states of the "UN Command". And these frantic exercises cover all spheres of carrying out wartime operations including the ground, sea, air, space, cyber and psychological information. This is pushing again the tensions on the Korean peninsula to the threshold of a war.

In particular, all the major units under the U.S. 8th Army, including the 2nd Infantry Division, the 19th Sustainment Command, the 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, and the 35th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, are taking part in the drill. And various actual maneuvers of the drill include a combined arms live-firing exercise aimed at verifying the capability for joint precision strike and mobility, a combined wet gap crossing exercise and a joint logistic support maneuver for providing war supplies in contingency.

Nevertheless, prior to the exercises, the military warmongers of the U.S. and the ROK described the drill as "annual" and "defensive" one in public with the aim of hiding the aggressive and provocative nature of the largest-ever exercises.

Such drill, which has been staged for decades despite the changes of regimes in the U.S. and the ROK, cannot be regarded only as a bad habitual military practice of the enemy states. And we can never get used to it.

As everybody knows, the enemies' war drill differs in its mission, form, scale and training methods every time.

All the elements of the war drill have been developing into extremely dangerous ones, quite different from the past ones. And it is being desperately oriented towards improving the actual fighting capacity in the war exercises against the DPRK and gaining the decisive ascendancy in the security structure in the Korean peninsula and the rest of the region.

The main point of the drill is to perform "practical training reflecting the changing security environment" and to "improve effectiveness". And its scenarios are being tailored to adapt to new modern war manuals and ways analyzed in recent wars.

The U.S.-ROK command post training under the simulated conditions of contingency in the Korean peninsula, the field training exercise which was waged more than ten times and even the "all-government combined exercise" which the ROK is staging independently by enlisting more than 4 000 agencies and over 580 000 personnel across the country feature supplemented elements of ultra-modern operations such as AI, drone and cyber.

What is all the more serious is that the U.S.-led "UN Command" which played an auxiliary role in the Ulji Freedom Shield exercises only a few years ago is kick-starting in real earnest to revive its combat function and expand its role, talking about "contribution in new spheres such as intelligence, cyber and space" with the ongoing exercises as an occasion.

Prior to the drill, the deputy commander of the "UN Command" said that it would be the strongest deterrence when the countries sharing the same intention counter together and the strong combination of posture when the ROK-U.S. alliance and UN Command are added, making it a fait accompli to hurl into an actual war the largest-ever multinational aggression forces by misusing the name of the "UN forces" in case of contingency on the Korean peninsula as it did in the 1950s of the last century.

This is a development that can not be overlooked. It visually shows that the ROK bordering the DPRK is turning into not only the training ground of the U.S.-ROK military alliance but also a gathering place of multinational aggression forces and a test ground of modern warfare for occupying the security sphere of the DPRK and the independent countries in the region.

The dangerous escalation of the war drills staged by the U.S. and its vassal forces is posing a more serious threat to the security rights of the DPRK and this will lead to the further deterioration of the situation of the Korean peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region.

The present situation makes us keenly realize what we should do.

The DPRK's exercise of its right to self-defence will continue to completely neutralize the enemies' military threat until the enemy states give up their reckless dream of overwhelming someone by force and completely abandon their attempt to break the balance of strength in Northeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region beyond the Korean peninsula.

It is necessary to counter the threatening maneuvers of the enemies which are getting serious as the time goes by with newly-developed strength.

The DPRK will always put all the enemies violating and threatening its sovereign security in the sighting range for precision and annihilating strike by its retaliatory means.

All the war drills for aggression staged by the enemy states in the Korean peninsula and the region will never produce the result desired by them. -0-

The Arch of Triumph stands at the foot of Moran Hill in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK. The monument was built in April 1982 in honour of President Kim Il Sung who led a 20-year-long anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to achieve Korea’s liberation.

Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- A circus of the National Acrobatic Troupe celebrating the 81st anniversary of national liberation was given at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre on August 16, amid joy and excitement of the people in the DPRK greeting the significant day when their great motherland newly emerged with pride.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, enjoyed the performance.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un appeared in the auditorium amid the playing of welcome music, the participants raised stormy cheers of "Hurrah!"

On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of national liberation, Comrade Kim Jong Un extended warm congratulations to all the people and the servicepersons who are creating a new era of comprehensive development with boundless love for their precious and sacred country and confidence and optimism about their cause.

The peculiar pieces given by a juggler familiar with the people made the audience imbued with the world of mysterious jugglery.

The performance was acclaimed by the audience as it drew out excitement, admiration and cheerful laughter.

Expressing great satisfaction over the acrobats' successful performance, Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly congratulated them.

He met creative workers, artistes and officials of the National Acrobatic Troupe who added to joy and optimism on the National Liberation Day through their excellent performance.

Sports Events Held to Mark 81st Anniversary of National Liberation

Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- A swimming and diving contest took place on August 16 under the schedule of sports cultural events marking the National Liberation Day.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, enjoyed the contest.

All the participants were filled with great excitement and joy as they came to significantly celebrate the National Liberation Day with sports cultural events in the presence of Comrade Kim Jong Un.

When Comrade Kim Jong Un appeared in the natatorium, all the players and spectators raised stormy cheers of "Hurrah!"

Among the spectators were leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs, officials of the WPK Central Committee, the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies and commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence.

A swimming contest was held by six teams, divided into men's 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter breaststroke, women's 100 meter freestyle and 100 meter breaststroke, and 4×400 meter mixed medley relay in which each of four swimmers in a team uses backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke and butterfly stroke for each 100 meters.

The contest was so close amid the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

And a diving contest was held by three teams, divided into men and women's individual 10 meter platform diving and mixed 10 meter synchronized platform.

In the swimming contest, the Sobaeksu Sports Team came first, the Ministry of Fisheries Sports Club second and the Suyangsan Sports Club third.

The Sobaeksu Sports Team came first in total standings of the diving contest.

Then, followed a synchronized swimming demonstration.

An awarding ceremony was held amid the applause of the participants.

The sports cultural event for celebrating the 81st anniversary of national liberation revved up the festive mood of the August 15 holiday. -0-
