BGSJI and KFA UK support press statement of DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Ulji Freedom Shield

The  British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK  )  , issued the following joint statement in support of the press statement of the  spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry(FM) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) that was issued on the 13th of August ;

The US imperialists and ROK puppets have announced that they will stage the provocative warmongering exercise Ulji Freedom Shield from Monday 17th of August  which will run for 10 days  and involve not only the US and the ROK but also states from the so-called UN Command such as Britain and Germany.

The DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson notes that "The U.S. announced that the forthcoming exercises are quite different from the ones of the past five years and intended to master the ability of fighting a war on the basis of the new aspects of modern warfare. By doing so, it did not conceal its aim to complete preparations for the substantial military confrontation with the DPRK."

This shows that although the US and ROK have staged these exercises many times before these exercises have been upgraded and aim at preparing a military confrontation against the DPRK . The exercises are also been held at a time of increased international tension when the US is provoking tension in Europe and committing aggression in the Middle east as well threatening to intervene in different parts of the world .

Ulji Freedom Shield is also being held in the context of the expansion of the US-ROK-Japan nuclear alliance . These war exercises are about sharpening up the sword of aggression against the DPRK! These exercises of the US , ROK and so UN-Command are a grave provocation and a threat to peace in the Asia -Pacific region . 

As our organisations have stated many times that military exercises are actually a preparation for a real war .

We demand that Ulji Freedom Shield is cancelled at once ! We strongly support the press statement of the spokesperson of the DPRK Foreign Ministry !
