July 27 of this year marks the 73rd anniversary of the Korean people's historic victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War.
Three hard years fought the heroic Korean People's Army (KPA), guided by the great Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, against the US imperialists and their 15 satellite armies which had attacked the young Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on June 25, 1950.
Korea is a small country, and the United States are a territorial giant.
The US imperialists in their superpower arrogance thought that it will be easy to force the "little" Korea to knees.
The US imperialists' goal in the Korean War was to encircle China and the Soviet Union from the eastern side.
The US imperialists thought that their superiority in arms will lead them to a fast vistory.
But they were mistaken. Not the weapons and the territory of a country decides the results of a war, but the question: Who fights for justice and who fights for unjustice?
Korea fought for justice. It defended its sovereignty, independence and freedom.
The KPA, supported by the whole Korean people, followed the brillant Juche strategy and tactics of Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG.
On the fourth day of the war, on June 28, 1950, the KPA succeeded to liberate Seoul, the stronghold of the enemy.
And in the following weeks in July 1950 nearly the whole territory of then south Korea was liberated!
And even after the strategic retreat the KPA defended heroically the DPRK against the Yankee invaders.
After a hard-fought war of three years, one month and two days, the heroic KPA and the Korean people won a historic victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War!
How was it possible? The reason is that a people, as little its country may be, who fights for the just cause of independence and for freedom, can besiege even a big power.
And a people who is guided by a leader who works for the people's happiness, who loves the people and who is loved by the people, will surely win.
The great Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG was a real peoples's leader and an illustrous Supreme Commander and the invincible strategist of Mt. Paektu.
He has liberated Korea in 1945 and wiped out the Japanese imperialists.
Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG forced two imperialist powers to knees in one generation. And he is the first supreme commander in history who won a victory over the United States.
The Korean people's great victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War encouraged all peoples in Asia, Africa and Latin America who were still fighting for their own liberation and freedom.
Korea's Great Fatherland Liberation War became the model for antiimperialist and national liberation struggle.
Today, the DPRK is a nuclear weapon state and has also long-range missiles and reconnaissance satellites.
A repeated attack of the US imperialists against the DPRK would lead to the downfall and total destruction of the "American Empire".
Thanks to the Songun leadership, initiated by Generalissimo KIM IL SUNG, strengthened by Generalissimo KIM JONG IL and completed by the respected Marshall KIM JONG UN, and the single-hearted unity of the people around the leader and the Workers' Party of Korea, socialist Korea is invincible!
Glory to the Korean people's victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War!
