History and Tradition of Victory

  The Korean people celebrate July 27 as the great V-Day every year.

  The history of war victory of heroic Korea created in the 1950s under the outstanding leadership of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is shining all the more thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the DPRK.

History of War Victory

  The Korean War ignited by the US imperialists on June 25, 1950 was a war of aggression to stifle the young DPRK in the cradle and realize their ambition for world domination.

  It is called the Fatherland Liberation War in the DPRK.

  In the past Fatherland Liberation War, the Korean people inflicted an ignominious defeat upon the US imperialists in hearty response to the outstanding military ideas and strategy of Comrade Kim Il Sung.

  Lecturer Hwang Ryon at the Korean Revolution Museum said that during the war, Comrade Kim Il Sung presented outstanding military ideas, and bold and mysterious strategies, tactics and war methods of Korean style and applied them skilfully, and continued:

  "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung presented outstanding military ideas and war methods including the idea on transforming the Fatherland Liberation War into an all-people war, the idea on ensuring definite politico-ideological and strategic and tactical upper hand of the army in the whole course of the war, the idea on meeting the material demand of war by our own efforts, large-unit and small-unit activities, regular warfare, guerrilla warfare, mountain warfare and night warfare.

  The Juche-oriented military ideas and war methods of his nullified the upper hand of the US imperialists in number and military technique and enabled the Korean people to win victory."

  The original war methods of Korean style were created by the outstanding military ideas, strategies and tactics of Comrade Kim Il Sung, including the aircraft-hunting team movement, tank hunters' team movement, tunnels warfare and the position warfare, which could not be found in the history of world wars.

  Comrade Kim Il Sung brought about the victory in the war with his love for and trust in the people and the service personnel of the People's Army.

  With the theory that the people and service personnel are the performers of war and the Supreme Commander exists for them, he had a rest home built worrying about the health of soldiers fighting on the heights and took measures to enforce the universal free medical care system for the people.

  Thanks to his love and trust, the brave soldiers of the People's Army blocked the enemy's pillboxes with their chests and became human bombs to destroy the enemy's tanks, displaying matchless heroism.

  Those days since the fireworks of war victory were set off were the history of fireless war of the DPRK against all the hostile forces including the US imperialists.

  In the 1990s which was recorded as the period of ordeals in the history of the DPRK, the US-led imperialist allied forces made more desperate efforts than ever before to isolate and suffocate the DPRK, loudly talking about the so-called "theory of its collapse".

  In those days, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il defended the country with his original Songun (military-first) politics.

  Thanks to his unusual military wisdom and matchless courage and confidence, the destiny of the country could be safeguarded and the history of victory of the DPRK go on.

  Today the history and tradition of victory of the DPRK are successfully carried forward by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, another iron-willed, brilliant commander.

Tradition of Victory Will Be Eternal

  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is energetically leading the people, service personnel of the People's Army and the coming generations to steadily carry forward the noble soul and spirit of the great victorious wartime generation.

  He made public famous works and thus provided a great programme for invariably carrying forward the tradition of victory won by the victorious wartime generation and made the whole country pulsate with the spirit of defending the country.

  He armed the coming generations with the heroic fighting spirit displayed by the army and people in the Fatherland Liberation War and saw that they could inherit the spirit generation after generation, lecturer An Yon Mi at the Korean Revolution Museum said and continued:

  "When he visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said the spirit of defending the country, whose core is the spirit of resolutely defending the leader, the spirit of patriotism and the heroic spirit of self-sacrifice displayed by the service personnel of the People's Army during the Fatherland Liberation War, is the most valuable ideological and spiritual heritage the new generations should inherit. And he stressed that the people, service personnel of the People's Army and the new generations should keep the spirit of defending the country and mass heroism displayed in the 1950s as a precious ideological and spiritual wealth and carry them forward generation after generation."

  Comrade Kim Jong Un had the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum built into a monument of the times so that the history and tradition of victory in the great years could be handed down as a valuable revolutionary legacy of Juche Korea forever.

  He came out to the spot to choose the site for the museum and took necessary measures ranging from the designing to the formation of construction forces and the supply of materials. Examining the historic relics and other exhibits to be displayed at the museum, he ascertained the historic materials.

  Afterwards, he came to the construction site several times and led all the elements to be completed on the highest level so that the visitors could have a deeper understanding of the outstanding military wisdom and Juche-oriented tactics of Comrade Kim Il Sung.

  He made it a tradition to invite the representatives of war veterans to Pyongyang and significantly celebrate the V-Day every year.

  He put forward the victorious wartime generation as the most heroic generation who laid the firm foundation of the DPRK even in the tempest of history and as models of the great and indomitable Korean people.

  He invited to the Eighth Conference of War Veterans the lecturers in the field of preserving revolutionary relics related to the war victory and led them to discharge their mission as powerful disseminators and educators infusing the people, service personnel and rising generations with the heroic fighting spirit and traits of the great years as the eternal soul.

  Comrade Kim Jong Un presented it as the general line of building the revolutionary armed forces to make the People's Army the ever-victorious one, so that the tradition of victory could be invariably carried forward.

  He put forward the idea on three elements of the armed forces--service personnel, arms and ideology--and gave a definition that ideology is the core element defining character, aspect and might of the armed forces.

  He guided the military drills of the large combined units of the People's Army on the spot, giving invincible wisdom and courage to the service personnel.

  A rapid progress was made in the strengthening of the defence capabilities under his energetic guidance.

  Comrade Kim Jong Un accomplished the historic cause of completing the state nuclear forces and strengthened and developed the DPRK into a military power any hostile forces dare not challenge.

  The line of simultaneous building of the economy and nuclear forces, the adoption of the policy of strengthening the nuclear forces as part of the constitution and the absolute weaponry intensively representing the progressiveness, modernity and heroism of the state show that the tradition of victory won by the victorious wartime generation goes on in the powerful country no formidable enemy can invade.

  The immortal exploits performed by Comrade Kim Il Sung for victory in the war and the tradition of victory created by the participants in the Fatherland Liberation War serve as the most valuable ideological and spiritual treasure to the new generations.

  The brilliant history of war victory of the DPRK shows that the history of victory is great and the tradition of victory is eternal only under the guidance of an outstanding leader.
