KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson accepted an invitation to appear on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show , the invitation was accepted in good faith and on the basis that “we will try anything once “ . Dr Hudson has previously appeared on the BBC , Al Jazeera, TRT , Pointsnews and a number of Podcasts.
However veteran broadcaster Piers Morgan proved himself to be unprofessional and idiotic coming out with all sorts of primitive tabloid nonsense about the DPRK and appearing to quote very selectively from a Wikipedia article on Dr Hudson. Morgan interrupted Dr Dermot Hudson several times . Also the interview was supposedly for 20 minutes but seemed to finish after 15 to 16 minutes.
Morgan’s insults such as “useful idiot “ , “ deluded “ and “beyond parody “ were not original , very cliched and looked like they had been copied and pasted from somewhere.
Morgan himself has never visited the DPRK whereas Dr Hudson visited 20 times since 1992 . How can Morgan know the true situation in the DPRK ? Instead he recycled stereotyped lies from from the so-called “UN Commission of Inquiry “ report on the DPRK which is now donkey’s years old and was rejected by the DPRK , not only did the DPRK reject but other countries such as Russia and China . Morgan harped on about ‘defectors ‘ but they are paid to lie and have been discredited time and time again.
The interview proved that Mr Morgan had not brought Dr Hudson onto his show to listen with an open mind and debate the issues with him . Morgan himself confessed that he is indeed a tabloid journalist.
It was deeply regrettable that Dr Hudson was not given a chance to fully explain the great advantages of the socialist system of the DPRK such as free housing .
We also note that some comments in support of Dr Hudson and KFA UK which posted on Youtube were removed twice.
Based on our experience with Mr Morgan and other outlets we are unlikely to engage again with the toxic Western mainstream media but of course are open to engagement with independent and progressive journalists as well as outlets like RT , Sputnik , PressTV and MOATS
