Reflections on the Kwangju Uprising and the nature of south Korea

                                                                                     

The 40th anniversary of the Kwangju uprising in south Korea and the subsequent massacre of the uprisers by the south Korean puppet regime and US imperialists causes deep reflection. The mainstream media like to tell us daily , in fact sometimes it seems every hour and even every minute about so -called 'human rights' abuses in People's Korea and parade treacherous scum to denounce their socialist motherland .Yet the same mainstream media were silent about the anniversary of the Kwangju massacre , totally silent . Few people know that it was in south Korea in May 1980 that 5,000 people died at the hands of south Korean and US forces , it did not happen in the DPRK.
Really since the end of the 1980s a massive propaganda campaign to whitewash and prettify the image of the south Korean fascist puppet regime . UK KFA has even been told off for using the term ' puppet ' in relation to south Korea . The 1988 Seoul Olympics were a key turning point in this .It does strange that the Olympics which are meant to symbolise peace and friendship where held in a land where only 8 years before 5,000 people had been killed horribly . The DPRK boycotted the Olympics and was supported in this by Cuba , socialist Albania , Ethiopia , Nicaragua, Madagascar and the Seychelles . Shamefully the so-called 'socialist allies' of the DPRK sent teams to participate . Later worse treachery followed when the Hungarian revisionists recognised the south Korean puppet regime followed by others such as the Soviet revisionists . It was later revealed that Gorbachov had received $100,000 from the south Korean puppet regime and the Hungarians had also been bribed.
In many countries there was a concerted effort to hide the nature of the south Korean puppet regime and present it to the world as some kind of 'utopia ' of 'freedom' and 'human rights ' as well as supposed 'prosperity'. Liberals fell over themselves to praise the south Korean puppets as did some on the Left . It was whispered that some Labour MPs were bribed and from another quarter a finger was pointed at a few British academics whom we wont name but were believed to have had their pockets lined by the south Korean puppets.
For me south Korea was and is a miserable colony of the US , the place were the Kwangju massacre took place and were south Korean revolutionaries comrade Kim Jong Tae and Choi Young Do were martyred by the fascist regime.

The Korea Future Initiative Exposed !

UK KFA has been doing some research on the shadowy "Korea Future Initiative' and ' Connect North Korea ' . Both organisations are linked to each other and are a spin off from the anti-DPRK 'European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea ' which used to operate out of a big office block in Croydon which by a coincidence housed several government departments .
"Korea Future Initiative " did register as a company but has applied to be struck off the register , this clearly shows something dodgy is going on , something is being hidden from view . The accounts filed do not reveal who is really funding the company and the declared assets of the company would not cover the costs of business rates , rent and paying the 8 members of staff .
Looking at some of the key people in the outfit is interesting . The secretary of the company is married to a someone who was a Conservative party local election candidate and is also connected with a number of advertising companies . The director of the company is also a director the Clare Foundation whose directors include a former MP and junior minister . It is not too hard to discern what forces are behind this so-called 'human rights ' organisation.
Now where it is gets even murky is that the founder of the Korea Future Initiative and and former head of EAHRNK, one "Michael Glendinning " does not appear on list of directors on the Companies House website . This is very odd .. Has 'Glenndinning ' disappeared ?
'The Korea Future Initiative' has nothing to do with 'human right ' but everything to do with trying to smear the DPRK and work for 'regime change ' , basically the destruction of the socialist system in the DPRK '

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Sends Greetings to President of Cameroon

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, Wednesday sent a message of greeting to Paul Biya, president of the Republic of Cameroon, on the occasion of its national day.

In the message he extended warm greetings to the president and the friendly government and people of Cameroon on behalf of the DPRK government and people.

The people of Cameroon are making great successes in defending the country's sovereignty and achieving peace and stability and unity of the nation under the leadership of the president, the message said.

Kim Jong Un in the message said that, availing himself of the opportunity, he expressed the belief that the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, sincerely wishing the president and people of Cameron greater progress in their work for the prosperity of the country. -0-

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Kwangju uprising   the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , UK Korean Friendship Association (UK KFA ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula(BSCPRKP)   issued the following joint statement in support of the Appeal of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea(AINDF) " Let us throw overboard Chun Doo-hwan and his descendants with nationwide curse and stern punishment!"
  On the 18th of May  the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea , the anti-imperialist vanguard of the south Korean people , issued an appeal on the 40th anniversary of the Kwangju popular uprising in south Korea  which was titled '  Let us throw overboard Chun Doo-hwan and his descendants with nationwide curse and stern punishment !
  The appeal calls for the south Korean people to eliminate the descendants of fascist despotism such as the so-called "United Future Party ' , a party which does not look to the future  but to the past of fascism and dictatorship . The appeal points out that to build a real democratic society then the remnants of fascism and conservatism must be eliminated.
   The appeal also points out that the US was the real author of the Kwangju massacre  and calls for renewed struggle against US imperialist domination in south Korea  saying that " It is high time to part with the US. Do not depend on the US any more. Be disillusioned with the US! ".  It should always be remembered that it was actually the US that ordered the Kwangju massacre and the butcher Chun Do Hwan was simply their puppet .
 Our organisations fully support the appeal of the AINDF and the struggle of the south Korean people to eliminate the remaining dregs of fascism in south Korea . Those responsible for the 5,000 deaths should be finally punished !
 Moreover we believe that south Korea must become totally independent , that the US , the real behind the screens director of the Kwangju massacre , must be permanently expelled from the land of Korea!

Marking the 40th anniversary of Gwangju Uprising

Marking the 40th anniversary of Gwangju Uprising An action for strict investigation into Chun Doo-hwan is being conducted on the occasion of the Gwangju Popular Uprising. The Changwon Branch of South Gyeongsang Provincial Headquarter of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration stressed in a statement that it’s time to drive the US troops out of south Korea, saying the basic spirit of the May 18 uprising is the spirit of independence on May 16. We should inherit the spirit of national independence and democracy against despotism and, at the same, chief culprits should be given deserved punishments, it noted.   Meantime, the members of the Committee for Commemorating the May 18 Popular Uprising hardened their determination to realize democracy, human rights and ensure peace, while marching along the spot of the uprising.   On the same day, the Promotion Committee for Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Gwangju Popular Uprising expressed their protest by honking around the Chun’s residence with 70 vehicles carrying placards including effigy of kneeled Chun.

Let us throw overboard Chun Doo-hwan and his descendants with nationwide curse and stern punishment! It has been forty years since the Gwangju Popular Uprising. Wailing of Gwangju citizens are echoing The spirit of fallen uprisers is being heard. The "forces under the Martial Law" killed innocent civilians without distinction at Gwangju in peacetime. It is the unprecedented homicide.  The identity of murderers, who turned Gwangju into a sea of blood, has remained in the shade and unpunished.    The conservative forces including the opposition United Future Party have covered up the fact of Gwangju massacre and clamored about the revival of dictatorship.  On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Gwangju Popular Uprising, the AINDF Central Committee issues an appeal with firm will of the south Korean people to throw overboard descendants of despotism. ＊                             ＊ The circumstance of massacre forty years ago was the history of crime riddled with trickery and intrigue of the chief culprit and his descendants to sweep under the carpet the history of their hideous crimes. The protagonists are the descendants of military fascist dictatorial group, that is, conservative forces including the UFP.   They degraded the uprising as a riot, uprisers a group of monster and a special unit of north Korea. They branded them “left wing organization following north Korea” and “spokesman for north Korea.” They praised Chun, who outdid Hitler’s cruelty, Tojo’s atrocity and Park Chung-hee’s brutality, as a “hero” and prevented song "March for Dear Ones" from being played at memorial services, clamoring it as a symbol of north Korea’s supporting force aiming at system change.   Chun, far from admitting his order of massacre, had the face to say that he did not ordered his men to open fire at the uprisers and he is one of victim of the uprising. He even wrote his memoirs full of fabrication.       He stubbornly persisted in he had not even a penny when the court decided to return one hundred million worth possessions. He idled his days away with golf and denied all the indicted facts at a trial with the excuse that he suffers senile dementia. He even drowsed in the trial, thus made fun of the public. The chief criminals and its descendants are running around south Korea like headless chickens. It is an insult to the uprisers. Recovery of conservatism is just one of Gwangju massacre.   The recovery of conservatism would reduce south Korea to tundra of democracy, the people’s rights and to a theater of traitorous flunkeyist forces and fascist rowdyism. The noble desire of uprisers would not be realized and another Gwangju massacre would occur unless the conservative forces including the UFP are eliminated.   Dear people of all social strata! Making a clear riddance of conservatism is a problem requiring an urgent solution for carrying out social great reform and building a genuine democratic society. Let us uproot the descendants of Gwangju massacre and conservative forces in the spirit of the Gwangju Popular Uprising! Let put the UFP, which defamed the Gwangju massacre and harbored Chun, capital punishment together with the chief criminal. Let us achieve genuine democracy and civil rights, desire of the uprisers, and build a new society through a nationwide struggle! The Gwangju Popular Uprising engraved upon the hearts of the south Koreans that the US is not a protector, supporter and ally of the south Koreans but the most heinous bloodthirsty felon and an irreconcilable enemy. It taught a serious lesson that dependence on foreign forces leads to death. At that time, the Gwangju uprisers and citizens had been obsessed by illusion that the US would never remain a passive onlooker to suppression of the military fascist clique. Even they reposed expectation that the US would not tolerate the massacre and check it. However, it is a pipedream. The US was not on side of the Gwangju citizens. On the contrary, the US rejected the Gwangju citizens’ request and handed over the representatives of resistance to the military clique.  As like in the past, the US is not an ally but a suzerain. The dependence on the US leads to death and national ruin. The history of humiliation goes on by the traitors to the nation, oblivious of a lesson of the massacre.   They fail to utter even a word of protest against the US demanding the hike of defense share cost and are busy with their efforts to build up the military strength and war games against north Korea. It is high time to part with the US. Do not depend on the US any more. Be disillusioned with the US!   Let us demonstrate national mettle in the spirit of the uprisers unafraid of death! A guide to the foreign force should be removed in order to put an end to domination and rule of the foreign forces.   A genuine independent society would be built only when the pro-US elements are eliminated and rotten politics is brought to an end.  Let us drive out kowtowing politicians and conservative forces, which inflict humiliation upon the people and resort to the south Korea-US alliance, from the political world!  Let us strive for writing a new history of politics existing by itself and exercising the right to national self-determination! Realization of independence, democracy and reunification is the unanimous demand of the public. The people’s desire is not achieved of their own accord. It is possible only through the struggle. Marking the 40th anniversary of the Gawngju Popular Uprising, the broad spectrum of civic organizations are waging a vigorous action in demand of strict investigation into the massacre and stern punishment of Chun and chief criminals.   Enthusiasm of the Gwangju resistance is ardent and an indomitable spirit of the uprisers is still alive in the minds of the people of various circles. No one can check the people’s efforts to achieve national independence and peace and lead a dignified life in a democratic new society.   Together with the people, the AINDF will surely accomplish the desire of the uprisers by punishing those responsible for the massacre and accelerating dynamic action for making a clean sweep of the conservative forces. Japan Emerges as Main Player of War: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries have become more persistent in military acts of threatening regional peace and security.

In April the Japanese government newly organized an air transport force for dispatching units of "Self-Defense Forces" (SDF), including a unit with exclusive mission to defend remote islands, to battlefields. To this end, they introduced two Ospreys from the U.S. in recent days and plan to bring a total of 17 Ospreys within five years.

Ospreys, with the speed of above 500 kilometers an hour and with flying range of 1 600 kilometers, can perform intercontinental flight when refueled in mid-air. The introduction of the transport plane will offer Japan an independent ability to rapidly dispatch its aggressive forces everywhere in the world.

This is a very serious development as it is part of the ambitious plan of the military fanatics to emerge as a main player of a war at any cost.

It is well known that Japan has made desperate efforts to revive as an independent aggressive force despite its strict subordinate relationship with the U.S. to avenge its defeat in World War II.

Japan revised the "Japan-U.S. Defence Cooperation Guidelines" and adopted the "security legislation" to legalize the limitless arms buildup and overseas military advance of the SDF, saying that it is hard to fulfill its duty as an ally if its power is only confined to logistic support to the U.S. forces in case of contingencies in areas surrounding Japan.

What's more, its frantic moves to become a military giant as evidenced by the highest military expenditure in history, the possession of constitutionally banned aircraft carrier, the development of the long-range cruise missile, the introduction of at least 100 stealth fighter planes and the launch of the military reconnaissance satellite turned its SDF into the second most powerful aggression force next to the U.S. in the West.

The island country has pressed ahead with the plan to set up an outer space operation force, an electronic warfare unit, an air transport force and other new units in recent days. Lucking behind this is its aim to acquire the capability for perfect military operation and an independent capability to fight a war as early as possible.

If the revision of the constitution is made to grant the SDF the legitimate status, Japan, the war criminal state, will emerge itself as a main player capable of igniting a war to regain its position like the one in the era of empire at any moment.

Now, Japan is running amuck in separate military exercises as never before under the pretext of defending and retaking remote islands, and concentrating its troops on vantage points like major bases favorable for reinvasion including Miyako Island.

It is a matter of time for the descendents of Samurais, who are obsessed with militarism, to ignite a war again.

The Japanese rulers are sadly mistaken if they calculate the road to a war state will lead to their prosperity.

The Japanese reactionaries will be made to dearly pay for their ambitious old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". -0
