Answering the “Critique of Juche” by the so-called “6 Heads Study Group “.

Recently , ultra leftists and dogmatists on Twitter in their campaign against People’s Korea and the Juche Idea shared an old article from the “Six Heads Study Group “ titled “ Critique of Juche “.  The Six Heads Study Group seems to have become inactive some time after 2021Time does not permit a full refutation of this garbled nonsense but  we will confine ourselves to several points ;

Firstly , the “Six Heads Study Group “ assert that “Juche Ideology is anti Materialist”. This is false because the Juche idea authored by President KIM IL SUNG and developed in depth by Chairman KIM JONG IL takes dialectical materialism as its premise . It virtually goes without saying that Juche is materialist because it rejects the concept of a special being existing outside time and space determining the destiny of man .

In effort to prove their arguments , the Six Heads Study Group resort to dishonest trickery and intellectual sleight of hand . They present a quotation from Chairman KIM JONG IL’s “On the Juche Idea “(published in 1982 )but in fact they have chopped up several paragraphs of the work and then put them in a garbled and distorted form to prove their arguments .

In fact Chairman KIM JONG IL in his work “On the Juche Idea “  refers to man as the “most developed material being “ and “man who is the highest-developed product in the material world”.

In an earlier work titled “On Some Questions In Understanding  The Juche Philosophy “ ,(1974) comrade KIM JONG IL strongly rejected the notion that Juche is a “ human philosophy “ and stresses the fundamental differences between Juche and the school of human philosophy . Comrade KIM JONG IL wrote that “ As you see, the Juche philosophy made it clear that man is the master and dominator of the world ; it does not assert that the material world itself is centred on man “ Furthermore comrade KIM JONG IL pointed out that “Man is indisputably  material  being “ 

Thus it is nonsense to suggest that Juche is anti-materialist . Indeed it is the Six Heads Study Group who are rejecting materialism by seeing man as being separate from the rest of the world.

Secondly , they claim that Juche is “anti-dialectical “ . However as stated above  Juche takes dialectical materialism as its premise . It does not see the world is something that does not change . Moreover it sees everything is inter-connected . Juche merely asserts correctly that because of the conscious agency of man socio-historical laws are different to those in nature .

Thirdly , slightly different to other ultra-leftist and “Maoist “ critics of Juche , they claim that Juche distorts class struggle whereas other ultra leftists go as far to claim that the DPRK “abandoned class struggle under socialism “, of course this has been refuted many time . However their argument about the distortion of class struggle in the DPRK reveals that their understanding of the DPRK and Juche to be very garbled and confused . Thus they muddle the line of revolutionization and working classizising society that was laid down by President KIM IL SUNG in the 1960s with the remoulding of small capitalist traders during the period of socialist transformation during the mid and late 1950s . These are two different things .In fact the line of revolutionizing and working classsizing the whole society is a true revolutionary line for liquidating the last vestiges of exploiter society and achieving communism by assimilating the whole society into the working class and revolutionizing them . The Six Heads people basically regurgitate previous ultra-left arguments about class struggle and socialist transformation . Like the other ultra leftists they ignore (or were probably actually ignorant of ) the sharp intense class struggles that took place in People’s Korea during the 1940s . Moreover the Fatherland Liberation War against the US imperialists was itself a class struggle against the enemies of the people.

Finally , the  Six Heads Study group actually dismiss and distort the sharp struggle against revisionism , factionalism and class enemies in the DPRK as the “suppression of criticism “  What happened was that in August 1956 that different factions -pro Soviet ,pro-Chinese combined together and tried to carry out a coup against the leadership of the Workers Party of Korea under the  manipulation of the great power chauvinists and revisionists. Their aim was to deny the Party's leadership role and paralyze the dictatorship of the proletariat. They also wished to stamp out the revolutionary conditions of the WPK forged in the flames of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. They even intended to proclaim Korea a pro-American 'neutral nation'. However, Comrade KIM IL SUNG led the people to smash the anti-Party counter-revolutionary factional clique. The WPK launched internally an anti-factional, anti-revisionist struggle. Comrade KIM IL SUNG attacked factionalism and revisionism at a Party Conference on March 6 1958. Referring to factionalism, he said:

"No faction is better or worse than any other. All come from the same mould; they are all products of capitalist influence in the working class movement. And they are a poison that destroys our Party and the working class movement in Korea".

 As to Kim Du Bong who is being praised by some . he had in fact advocated placing the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly higher the Workers Party of Korea ,basically overturning the leading role of the Party and the dictatorship of proletariat , a clear cut revisionist anti-socialist position. As to the so-called Yanan faction , the pro China flunkeys , in reality they had their origins not in the Chinese Communist Party but in the bourgeois KMT !

By criticising the DPRK and WPK anti-revisionist and anti-factional struggle the Six Heads Study Group reveal themselves as bourgeois liberals (not anti-revisionists ) and are repeating imperialist and bourgeois narratives . 

To conclude the Six Heads Study Group so-called critique of Juche is indeed shameful and counter-revolutionary . Probably the Six Heads Study Group no longer exists because its leaders have run off to well paid bourgeois jobs !
