The British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held a December online to mark the 70th anniversary of the publication “ On Eliminating Dogmatism and Formalism and Establishing Juche In Ideological Work” by President KIM IL SUNG and the 30th anniversary of the publication of “ Respecting The Forerunners of the Revolution is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries “ by comrade KIM JONG IL . The event was held on Telegram at 1500 hours GMT . Participating were senior officials of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea as well participants from Germany . A paper was received from the secretary general of the European Regional Society For the Study of the Juche Idea and from a British academic.
Dr Dermot Hudson Chairman of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea said the publication of the work “On Eliminating Dogmatism and Formalism and Establishing Juche In Ideological Work “ 70 years ago on the 28th of December 1955 was truly groundbreaking saying that “ The publication of the work "On Eliminating Dogmatism and Formalism and Establishing Juche In Ideological Work " was a powerful declaration that Korea would be independent and self-reliant”
The secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea made an indepth keynote address which explained the importance of the publication of “ On Eliminating Dogmatism and Formalism and Establishing Juche In Ideological Work “ which marked the rejection of dogmatism by the Workers Party of Korea (WPK ) . The WPK has always had creative lines . By establishing Juche the DPRK and WPK always saw the internal forces of the revolution as being primary and decisive . The speaker criticised the false views of the Trotskyites who saw “Stalinist betrayals “ as the reason for failures in the revolution . The speaker pointed that President KIM IL SUNG saw no contradiction between the world revolution and the revolution in one’s own country . The DPRK has avoided the pitfalls of Right and Left opportunism .
The paper sent by Juha Kieski secretary general of the European Regional Society For the Study of the Juche Idea stressed that “President Kim Il Sung spoke about these issues already 70 years ago. His speech, as well as historical practice, has shown that his thinking was already at that time very unique and correct.”
Discussion was held on the subject of the 30th anniversary of the publication of “Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution is A Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries “.
The paper sent by a British academic stated that “ I strongly recommend all those wishing to better understand the distinctiveness of Korean socialism to read ‘Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries’, to better understand the ways in which Marxism-Leninism can be adapted creatively to the necessities of the revolution, whilst maintaining the continuity of ideological clarity and steely-eyed antirevisionism.”
Dr Hudson in his address on the work “Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution is A Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries” explained that “30 years ago the situation was different to now ; socialism had been frustrated in many countries such as the USSR . The imperialists and bourgeoisie were crowing over these defeats and reverses as well as attacking previous revolutionary leaders such as Lenin and Stalin . I can remember at the time how some people instead of blaming revisionism and opportunism for the collapse of socialism they instead blamed Stalin ! This shows the influence of not only bourgeois propaganda but also Trotskyite and revisionist lies”
Dr Hudson stressed that the DPRK upholds the legacy of Marx, Engels , Lenin and Stalin.
Discussion followed . The chairman of KFA Germany related the experience of KFA Germany at the Nuremberg leftist bookfair where 20 copies of Dr Hudson’s book “Anti-Revisionist Fortress of Juche “ were sold . The secretary general of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea denounced the ideology of post -modernism.
