    The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea  and the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK( KFA UK)  issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of the director of the Institute for Japan Studies under the DPRK Foreign Ministry titled "The war criminal state Japan's attempt to go nuclear must be prevented at any cost as it will bring mankind a great disaster" which was published on the 20th of December ;

The press statement of the director of the Institute for Japan Studies correctly draws attention to the issue of Japan acquiring nuclear weapons which would be a severe danger to world peace.

Recently the new ruling circles of Japan have been openly talking about acquiring nuclear weapons . An official of the office of the Japanese prime minister said that Japan should opt for nuclear weaponization because of the 'security environment ' surrounding Japan . 

The fact is that no one is threatening Japan . It is Japanese expansionism and militarism that threatens countries in the region including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea .

Japan should not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons because it is a war criminal state . Japan caused many disasters and distress for the people's of Asia . It invaded and colonised many countries such as Korea . If Japan acquired nuclear weapons with the backing of the USA there is no knowing what Japan could do !

As the press statement of the Director of the Institute for Japan studies under the DPRK Foreign Ministry correctly states "The shameless double-faced act of Japan, who openly talks about the world without nuclear weapons under the signboard of the world's only atomic-bombed country and works hard to go nuclear behind the scenes, is the greatest threat to be rejected by the international community with vigilance and a reckless act of evoking serious concern among regional countries"

We urge that progressive people pay attention to this important statement from the DPRK . Peace loving people should unite to prevent Japan from acquiring nuclear weapons which would menace world peace and the future of humanity .
