The International Central Committee for Songun Study issued the following statement on the 97th anniversary of the formation of the Down With Imperialism Union :

The DIU was founded by the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG on the 17th of October 1926 . It was the first true communist revolutionary organisation and rallied the revolutionary school students against imperialism and fought for the independence of Korea.

   The formation of the DIU marked a decisive and clean break with the stale ideas of flunkeyism , factionalism , opportunism and dogmatism  . It gave a great impetus to the Korean revolutionary movement and the struggle for national liberation .

   The red flag of the DIU which was  raised 97 years ago today  flutters high over Juche Korea !

 Today the ideas of the DIU are alive in the  Workers Party of Korea and the great line of self-reliance and self-development  . The tradition of the DIU is carried forward by the Workers Party of Korea under the leadership of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN .
