US troops, Get out of south Korea!
Seventy three years have elapsed since the US troops landed in south Korea.
South Korean progressive political parties and civic bodies waged anti-US struggle such as candlelight rally for withdrawal of the US troops from south Korea and a ceremony of burning McArthur in effigy.
On September 6, the Solidarity for People's Sovereignty held an inaugural meeting demanding prompt conclusion of peace accord and withdrawal of the US army from south Korea and declared the pullout of the US forces from south Korea in the name of the south Korean people.
A new road to peace, prosperity and independent reunification was opened in the Korean Peninsula thanks to historic inter-Korean summit and DPRK-US summit and it is victory achieved by the united efforts of the nation to put an end to a war and national division, they noted.
They strongly demanded the pullout of the US forces from south Korea according to the April 27 Panmunjeom declaration and the June 12 joint statement.
A rally denouncing the US occupation of south Korea was held in Seoul on September 8 under the sponsorship of the People's Action for Peace against War with attendance of more than 1 000 people.
Let us make the day of US occupation of south Korea that of withdrawal of the US army, they said. Who allows the US forces in south Korea to threaten life and security of the people and the presence of the US forces in south Korea is anachronistic as inter-Korean summit and the DPRK-US summit were held, they noted. They called for the people to turn out in the drive to drive out the US troops from south Korea as they ousted Park Geun-hye.
Similar rallies were held in Gwangju, Busan, Daegu and other part of south Korea to demand the pullout of the US forces from south Korea.
The south Korean people will surely build an independent society free from the foreign forces through a nationwide action for independence against the US and withdrawal of the US troops from south Korea.
