THE FIFTH KOREAN SUMMIT MEETING BRINGS IN A NEW ERA OF PEACE AND REUNIFICATION UPON THE KOREAN PENINSULA-Staffordshire KFA
The Staffordshire Branch of the Korean Friendship Association notes with immense satisfaction the results emanating from the 5th summit meeting between the leaders of North and South Korea held in Pyongyang between the 18th to the 20th September 2018. This was the third meeting between the DPRK's Supreme Leader Chairman Kim Jong Un and President Moon Jae In of South Korea. We, the Friends of Korea have observed that the drive towards peace, reconciliation and reunification has been accelerated this year. Chairman Kim Jong Un has made the aim of peace and reunification on the Korean peninsula as a top priority of the DPRK's Government's activities.
Since the division of Korea was imposed upon the Korean nation by outside forces, generations of Korean people have longed for the reunification of their country. The Pyongyang Declaration signed by the leaders of North and South Korea provides a historic opportunity for a roadmap of the reunification of Korea to be implemented. At the summit, strong calls were made for the complete denuclearization of Korea and for the withdrawal of all foreign military forces from Korea. Cooperation in all areas of economic and cultural spheres between the North and South of Korea will become materialized and the reunion of the separated families made a reality. The reunification of Korea must be decided by the Korean people independently in the north, in the south and overseas, without interference from any quarter.
The Staffordshire KFA Branch calls upon people of goodwill everywhere to support the Korean Peace Process. We urge the Peace, Anti-Imperialist Movements and the Labour and the Trade Union Movements to give their total solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people. Support the drive for peace and reunification in Korea and join the Korean Friendship Association!!
KOREA IS ONE!!
