Answering the slanders of the “ Sun “

.

“You cannot hope

to bribe or twist,

thank God! the

British journalist.

But, seeing what

the man will do

unbribed, there's

no occasion to.

Humbert Wolfe

The online edition of the “Sun “ newspaper (the infamous tabloid ) recently carried a hitjob on the Korean Friendship Association of the UK because we picketed the Foreign , Commonwealth and Development Office on the 6th of June . They also used images of KFA UK members and supporters without permission . Our KFA UK media monitoring unit has already posted an excellent piece in response . Additionally we would add the following remarks ;

Firstly , the article claimed without any evidence that “Ukranian children had been abducted “ and taken to the Songdowon International Children’s Camp . However , the children who went to the Songdowon International Children’s Camp were citizens of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics which are now part of the Russian Federation according the 2022 referendum on joining the Russian Federation .There were no Ukrainian children at the Songdowon International Children’s Camp .

Secondly , the article falsely alleged that there is an “atrocious record of abuses” and citiing “satellite images “ . Satellite images of the DPRK are a stock in trade of imperialist mainstream media propaganda against the DPRK .Satellite  images are used to prove whatever the media wants them to prove and prove nothing at all . In fact the supposed satellite images of “prison camps” in the DPRK have been debunked as they in fact show ordinary villages , farms and factories . Also there is no such thing as a “gulag “ in the DPRK , this is a Russian word and was something that exited in the former USSR until the early 1960s .

Thirdly , the article cities “defectors “ and tries to hide the fact such “defectors “ (actually traitors and criminals ) lie for money  .The celebrity "defector" Ms Yeonmi Park or to give her proper name Park Yeon Mi apparently appears wearing dressed completely in a Chanel outfit and Bvlgari  Jewellery costing over $100,000 dollars and is paid $10,000 per performance (sorry we mean presentation ) . Lying about People's Korea is very profitable so this is why defectors make up outlandish stories . In the West telling the truth about People's Korea can cost you your job but lying about it gets you big money .It is a fact south Korea pays people from the DPRK  $890,000 to defect!

Fourthly , the article quotes the spy and infiltrator “Ulrich Larsen “ (which may not be a real name ) .”Larsen “ was a complete scumbag who infiltrated KFA in another country and illegally filmed KFA members .  The “Sun “ article quote  “Larsen “ trying to deny he was a spy but we can reproduce a picture of Mr “Larsen “ in Danish Naval uniform proving that indeed he was in the Danish armed forces and connected to the Danish state . If “Larsen “ was simply an undercover journalist he would have left KFA after one or two years or sooner once he got the material he wanted and stayed in KFA for 10 years. We would add that members of the intelligence services(CIA and MI5 ) appear in Mr “Larsen “‘s so-called “documentary “.

Fifthly , the “Sun “ journalist twists and misquotes our KFA UK Chairman Dr Dermot Hudson . Dr Hudson never said the self-reliance made the DPRK isolated , what he actually said was that self-reliance was the  basic strategy of the DPRK and was applied consistently whether there were sanctions or not .

Finally , the “Sun “ claimed that KFA UK members are “delusional loyalists “ , “retirees “ and “ disillusioned hobbyists “( everyone is still trying to work out what a disillusioned hobbyist actually is ) . However KFA UK has members from a wide range of backgrounds and occupations and age groups . In fact hundreds of young people have signed for the KFA UK email list and KFA UK telegram channel.

The fact that KFA UK was subjected to an insulting and defamatory by the “Sun “ shows that we defending People’s Korea with No Ifs or Buts.
