The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) together with the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea held a successful online meeting for the Day of the Shining Star , the 83rd anniversary of the birth of the great leader comrade KIM JONG IL .The meeting was held online via Skype on the 15th of February at 1600 hours GMT.
Participating were members of KFA UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea from London , Bristol, Staffordshire and Scotland . The meeting also attracted the participation of international guests from KFA Andalusia (Spain),KFA Germany ,KFA Greece and the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland.
A message of greetings to the meeting from KFA UK Organisation Secretary and head of KFA UK West of England comrade Alan Bolon was given as he was unable to attend the meeting due to ill health.
The Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics sent a message which said in part “Here in Brazil, the comrade Kim Jong Il is highly esteemed and respected not only by followers of the Juche Idea but also by communists, socialists and progressives because he dedicated his entire life to the Korean people and to socialist construction. Following with great fidelity the ideals of President Kim Il Sung, the General Kim Jong Il gave new impetus to the Korean Revolution and acted as a great conductor in the areas of politics, philosophy, art, education, national defense, economics and diplomacy.
A statement from the DPRK Embassy in London titled “A Truly Independent Powerful Country, a State of Justice “ was read out it , it concluded that “The present international situation shows that the contradictions between justice and injustice and between the progressive and the reactionary, especially the power structure surrounding the Korean peninsula, have become obvious and the change from a unipolar world advocated by the US into a multipolar world is being accelerated significantly. The DPRK, a state of justice, is positively developing the external relations in keeping with the developing trend of the current international situation and as befits its status as an independent powerful state”
The head of Staffordshire KFA UK and secretary general of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in his contribution praised the feats of comrade KIM JONG IL in developing the Juche idea . He stressed the Juche idea is a great ideology that gives answers to present times . The speaker said that comrade KIM JONG IL had guided the building of socialism in People’s Korea and the task of building up the DPRK’s national defence capability in order to defend the independence of the country and its socialist system.
Dr Dermot Hudson , Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group For the Study of the Juche Idea in his keynote speech titled “ Recalling a great leader who build a mighty fortress of Juche !” said that “
Part of the constant demonisation of People's Korea by the mainstream media is the vilification and slander of its leadership. By holding this meeting to mark the 83rd anniversary of the birth of comrade KIM JONG IL we are showing our solidarity with People’s Korea and hitting back at this vilification .
The anniversary of the birth of comrade KIM JONG IL, the 16th of February, is celebrated by the Korean people and friends of People's Korea throughout the world as the ' Day of the Shining Star '. This is because the exploits and achievements of comrade KIM JONG IL shine like a bright star.”
Dr Hudson recalled his visit to the DPRK for the Day of the Shining Star in February 2019. He praised the work of comrade KIM JONG IL in defending the independence of the DPRK by building up the national defences of the DPRK.
The head of KFA Scotland praised the exploits of Chairman KIM JONG IL.
The Chairman of KFA Germany in his speech said that Chairman KIM JONG IL was a truly great leader who built a socialist country with true independence that cares for the welfare of its people.
There was a short discussion on the future activities for celebrating the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Workers Party of Korea in October.
A letter to respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
